The relegation battle continues into the final weeks of the season, with four teams still fighting for every last point.
Hrvatski Dragovoljac still remain in last place, but won a hard fought match against RNK Split on Friday.
Stipe Bačelić-Grgić was the hero with his late-game goal to put the Volunteers in the lead in the 85th minute to gain three crucial points.
Though currently in last place, The Volunteers are only three points away from seventh place.
Slaven Belupo is trying to distance themselves from the bottom with their convincing 4-1 win over Zadar. Slaven are currently in seventh, but are tied on points with Zadar in eighth place and Osijek in ninth place.
Unfortunately for Zadar, they were on the wrong side of the beating by Slaven, and were unable to help their cause for survival.
Osijek fell to Hajduk at Poljud over the weekend, and remain in ninth place, desperately hoping for victory next week.
The top of the table is set with Dinamo in first, and Rijeka and Hajduk rounding out the second and third spots, but Dinamo fell in their match to NK Istra.
Dinamo fielded a team of junior players, many of them making their debut for the club.
Zoran Mamić decided this would be a good time to test the future of Dinamo, but came up just short to Istra.
The final matches of the season will take place next year, and will decide who will be relegated to the Druga Liga, who will enter the relegation playoff, and who will be safe.
Matches to look out for include Osijek – Hrvatski Dragovoljac on Saturday, Zadar – Istra 1961 on Saturday, and Rijeka – Slaven Belupo on Saturday.
The first match on Saturday will also call for attention as it is the final installment of the Eternal Derby for the year. Hajduk Split will be traveling to Maksimir to take on Dinamo at 9am EST.

If Croatian football fans in Croatia thought that they had seen the back of Igor Štimac after the former national team coach was sacked when Croatia lost to Scotland 2-0 in the group stages of World Cup qualifying, then yesterday they were mistaken, after Štimac was named in state broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision’s (HRT) line-up for Brazil…
Štimac, who has gone down statistically as the worst Croatia coach in history, will be part of HRT’s studio team during the World Cup in Brazil. HRT on Monday presented their team, who will be led by commentator Drago Ćosić.
“In the Zagreb studio there will be a collection of great football experts and journalists, including Igor Štimc, Robert Prosinečki, Elvis Scoria and Anton Samovojska”, Ćosić said.
HRT will show all 64 matches live, and will have a team of 150 working on the ‘Brazil 2014′ project, including 26 based in Brazil.
