Probably not.
Ivan Perišić was not included in Bayern Munich’s squad Tuesday night as they defeated Werder Bremen 1-0 to lock up their eighth straight Bundesliga crown; with two matches remaining in the season.
The question is: Did Bayern really need Inter Milan-owned Ivan Perišić this season on loan? Perišić only played in 21 matches for the Bavarian giants, scoring four times this season. He picked up an ankle injury during training in February which required him to have surgery and sit out all games until the COVID-19 break ended.
Perišić returned with a goal against Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Pokal semifinal match last week and will likely be rested until the Final on July 4th. However, with a Champions League mini-tournament returning this August, Perišić can show his full worth when the European title is on the line. Bayern will still need to finish their second leg Round of 16 fixture against Chelsea before moving onto the quarterfinals. Bayern won the first leg 3-0 in London. It is still unknown when the Round of 16 game will be played.
But with Perišić’s future in limbo, a strong showing in the shortened Champions League will most likely dictate his path next season. Bayern was originally planning to buy Perišić from Inter Milan at the end of this loan spell, however, may have changed their minds with financial decisions limited due to COVID, SempreInter reports. At 31 years of age, he could of course return to Inter but there is now a new rumor that Tottenham is in the mix for the Croatian winger. He has two solid years left in the gas tank and the Vatreni need Perišić to stay fresh. Hopefully he does not go to England and will continue to play in the less demanding Serie A or Bundesliga next season.

Klara mandic is now a good Serb Jew
Dead
Brekalo should leave Wolfsburg
They are holding him back creatively and expression wise
He is clearly not happy there and it is usually a trust issue beginning with all the gay shit going around the club
He’s probably tanking deliberately too to make a point
Unfortunately there is not enough space in the midfield to accommodate Kova
@Pero
It seems like you have.
Brekalo plays inconsistently and sparingly (and even out of position) for the ‘A’ reprezentacija, and yet he’s done the following…
– He won us the 3-2 game against Spain in Nations League (the game was going to end in a draw, then he comes on with 15 minutes left in the game… creates a chance completely by himself and puts a great shot on goal, the rebound picked up by Jedvaj for the win)
– He almost won us the final Nations League game against England, where we were completely stale all game with England dominating us…he comes on in the half, suddenly we’re all creative (thanks to him) and he immediately creates our best chance by attacking on the wing, and dishes it off to Krama for the goal.
He played only two games in Nations League (both games off the bench, 60 minutes total) and creates two goals. Dude is IMPACTFUL for us.
For Euro qualifiers, he was given a much worse role and even more inconsistent minutes, and yet he was still more impactful than many of our starters.
He started in that Wales game…and 8 minutes into the game, he’s dribbling through the Welsh defense like they were screensavers and then singlehandedly creates Vlasic’s goal. That was a very important goal for us, as losing to Wales would have caused us problems going into the final round.
The only other game he played good minutes in was as an RB in our 2-1 Azerbaijan win, …and even in that game, you could see how he was impacting our offense, sending in multiple crosses and dribbling past his defender.
The other games, he just came on in the last 15 minutes or so.
Very, very impressive for a guy playing so little and inconsistently for us.
Klara mandic was assassinated in her apt in 2001
Her killers were never found.
Curious as to who offed her and the other half dozen of slobo’s inner circle?
Speaking of Jews whose watched filthy rich?
Not only did he feed his sickness of sex with little girls but Epstein also shaped US foreign policy by filming many influential people in his mansions Doing naughty things ,and obviously black mailing them.
Can we say black-mail these days without offending anyone ?
Some on this site have no respect for Ustashi and are even ashamed of their legacy
Ante, why have’t you reported on Stipe fighting DC for the title this August?
Brekalo amazing ??U-21’s yes but for the seniors ?
Have I missed something?
@pro white heretic
This is from a book I read lol,
“In 1988, a group of Serbian intellectuals formed the Serbian-Jewish Friendship Society (SJFS), in the hope of paralleling the plight of Serbs and Jews. The SJFS was headed by Klara Mandić, a Jewish dentist who lost 73 members of her family in the Holocaust. A charismatic character with long red fingernails and two gold stars of David around her neck, Mandić gained increasing fame, as connections between Serbs and Jews were increasingly drawn by nationalist intellectuals (Lebor 2002, 331). The SJFS was in large measure affiliated with the government. It had the backing of both Milošević and Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadžić, who was even rumoured to be Mandić’s lover.”
Lol, you love the cetniks because they’re nationalists!
Give us your thoughts on the Ustase, because the antichrist Jews and schismatic Serbs hated the nationalist Ustase?
Who do we hope wins the Champions league in August? With the games being in a 1 game knockout format, many teams can upset. Hell, maybe Atalanta makes a run. I hope Perisic gets that Champions League medal
espnfc.com on Luka:
MF Luka Modric, 8 — The 34-year-old was starting his second game in four days, but you wouldn’t know it. Played a key role in Madrid’s opener and later tested Jasper Cillessen from distance. Ageless.
Perišić had a power header and is moving well since the rehab/restart.
It takes time to get into form.
But I can see he will not have a problem moving into top gear.
Oh this guy seems to be doing ok as well:
Luka Modric—8: The break seems to have reinvigorated Luka Modric who looks the fittest and most energized he has been for two seasons. Zidane afforded the 34-year-old a bit more attacking freedom in this match and he responded with a lovely “hockey assist” for Benzema’s opening goal.
Brek has been dog poop lately I’m worried myself
When Brekalo starts struggling for the National Team, then I would start to worry.
He’s been nothing short of amazing for us.
The regression of Brekalo needs to be addressed.
Many …myself included thought this would be a breakout year for Josip.
This kid is too talented to be getting subbed off in the 50th minute after continuous lackluster performances.
An Injury to Vlasic and Brekalo not attaining the lofty height we all suspected does major damage to this teams hopes of competing going forward.
Perisic hasn’t looked very good since his surgery. It’s expected and hopefully he will be at his usual best next season with Bayern if they sign him.
With Chelsea FC making moves to compete for trophies, it seems Kovačić will have opportunities to play in big matches.
These next two years give him the path to becoming a world class player.
I too am curious if he wants to be at that level?
I know he doesn’t like getting benched by Dalic.
Lampard is turning the screws at Chelsea.
Yet another opportunity to step up or step off.
And do you know WHY these soccer players make these “powerful statements” as the media keeps calling it? B/c if they didn’t, the media would demand punishment and attempt to destroy them, THAT’S WHY. So it’s MEANINGLESS.
“Have the courage to support comrade Stalin”
Except the media ain’t Stalin.
These soccer players kneeling are showing themselves for the morons and cowards they are. When you do or say something that incurs no risk, you won’t get jailed for “hate speech”, or get suspended from or lose your job, and the entire media praises you, THAT IS NOT TAKING A STAND, THAT IS NOT TAKING A STAND. That is being an establishment toady, siding with the bully, being a sycophant. They are such little people, it doesn’t make a difference whether they were ever born or not.
Kovacic is a fine player. Just frustrating that it takes him about fifty games to score a goal. Especially when you consider how good of a dribbler he is and that hes not a purely defensive midfielder like a Busquets or a Makelele.
Great attitude and player though.
He played 29 matches with bayern with 6 goals and 8 assists.
I am confident bayern will sign him.
not great usage of semicolon in headline.
Soul Champ…we should all hope and pray that Kovacic adopts all the lessons he learns from Lampard but sometimes, knowing one might have to take on the responsibility can cause pressure that he may or may not be able to handle. Some guys thrive under pressure and others don’t. I’m hopeful Kovacic has started on his final journey to become a mature and responsible player. His abilities are phenomenal and his physical is also very strong…we really need to see if he’s able to make this transition and maintain steady without having some sort of crisis and mental lapse due to the pressure.
Kovačić has been through the usual odyssey our young phenoms go through ages 20-24.
He has grown from these trials and tribulations and is now on the upward trajectory.
At this point comparing anyone to Modrić who has ascended to the greatest nogometaš ever is not productive.
Lampard can teach Kovacic how to be aggressive in the final third and take his chances.
Depth is the key to deep runs in major tournaments.
We can all agree that successive extra time wins took its toll on our champions heading into the finals.
Kovačić will play his part as we need to keep Modrić as fresh as possible to start big matches.
Vlašić and Brozovic offer distinct qualities in there own right.
Dalic has to evolve and fine tune our Rimac electric sports engine.
I give Kovačić a plus given that we play England in our first Euro 2021 match.
His speed and slalom runs are still needed in our team.
I don’t think Kovacic starts these next Euros.
Modric and Brozovic are guarantees.
Rakitic, Vlasic and Kovacic will be fighting for that last spot, and Dalic doesn’t seem to be a fan of Kovacic.
Kovacic is improving though, and Raketa will be declining. Only issue is that Vlasic is also improving, and has had a huge impact for us offensively. Hard not to start Vlasic.
Personally I think Kovacic is a sponge when it comes to soccer and soaked a lot from Luka. He is modest and wants to learn. He is coming into some confidence now with Lampard. He will also soak up a lot from Lampard which is the only part of his game he needs to work on. Yes, he needs better consistency perhaps which is almost there. Give him only 6 more months and he will be truly amazing. Perfect timing for Euro’s.
He’s a good midfielder, he’s just not a complete one like Modrić.
He’s too hesitant when it comes to attacking, but he’s always been great in the other areas including passing, maintaining possession and winning balls.
He’s been having a great year and it looks like he’s taken a step forward (he’s likely going to win the Chelsea player of the year award), so who knows. Maybe he puts it together offensively. He has the tools.
Modrić also faced similar complaints 7 or 8 years ago about never being aggressive and throwing anything on goal.
I don’t think Kovačić will be as good as Modrić, but he could be an elite midfielder which would keep us in contender territory.
I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think Kovačić has the ability to step up when Modrić retires. Kovačić will never be able to replace Modrić.
I remember when Srna was quoted saying that Kovačić has the ability to play as well as Modric ( this was when Kova was still with Madrid). He has never came close to playing as good.
I think his first start for repka was against Serbia in Zagreb. He was only 18. That was back in 2013 and I do not think he has gotten much better playing for the repka. Of course he has his moments like against Iceland, but I remember More bad than good moments
Still one of the best wings I see playing the game.
He and Rebic on the wings make us special. Not going to be easy to replace.
We sometimes discuss playing Rebic at striker, but if Perisic slows down, he’d be my candidate at striker over Rebic.
I still think Perisic at LB, in his later years, would be sublime. But given Kramaric and Brekalo stumped in their progression, Perisic is too valuable at wing for us.
Perišić is fresh.
At this point I would love to see him at Tottenham.
He is an EPL type player with his two footed athletic talents he would do well at Spurs.
No need to be shelved at Inter or Bayern.
There is a balance between remaining fresh and losing meaning and sharpness.
Perišić is a world class player.
He needs to start for a legit club competing in meaningful matches at the business end of seasons.
He has 3-4 years of top level in his athletic Self.
Playing opposite Sonaldo would be beneficial for him.
The EPL would give him his long elusive super star status.
Like Modrić, he will be supported by Croatian young talent and no longer need to do too much at national team level.
At 31 he is too “young” to simply be a role player.
He has one last chapter to write before the book closes on his career.
I’d like to see him in a new place next season.
System doesn’t suit him at Inter and Bayern big times him, then find a new club.
He is value you transfer once Inter drops it’s price.
Or .. Conte, take your head out of your ass and like you recently did with Ericksen, put Perišić in a spot where he can flourish.
Perišić has proven big time in big moments throughout his career.
Look at Muller flourish without Pep and Kovac.
@ Poglavnik
Great point about Rakitic playing a role for pederi at farca.
Can’t see Perišić do the same.
