CroatianSports.com will not meet up with Andrew Bogut this Saturday night in Los Angeles for his annual interview due to personal reasons. It is understood that nothing is wrong with Bogut himself, but he has travelled back home to Australia to be with his family. The seven-foot Milwaukee Bucks center is the only player currently in the NBA with Croatian blood. Although born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Bogut keeps close tabs on Croatian culture and has his own place in Novalja, Croatia.
“It is important to note that this is not related to Andrew’s personal health in any way,” Bauman said. “Andrew appreciates the support of the Bucks, his teammates and his fans, and he expects to be back after a few more games’ absence fully prepared to play the game that he loves and 100 percent ready to help the Bucks win games.” -Bogut’s agent
Bogut was rumored to play for Croatian basketball club Cibona during the NBA lockout but the news seemed fabricated at best. We already know that Bogut is a proud Croatian, albeit playing for the Australian national team, and much of what we know of him was learned back in 2010 during an exclusive interview with CSR. Bogut could have easily played for Croatia if the Australian youth system did not bring him in. His next step was to pack his bags as a teenager if the Boomers did not call, but they did.

Yes, in fantasy there must always be a (negative) category to keep the scales even. Hockey=penalty minutes, baseball=WHIP/ERA,Football=Interceptions/fumbles, Soccer=Goals Against/Cards and so on….
However, if you know how to set it up, you put in turnovers for basketball. But check this out. Experts use Turnovers/Assists to calculate their ‘negative category.
Why punish Chris Paul who handles the ball the entire game for just turnovers? If he dishes the ball his turnover to assist ratio goes down. Big men don’t pass the ball as often, nor do they dribble, so that’s how that works.
Look at any Fantasy Basketball league…there’s a turnover category of some sort. Trust me man, I was doing this stuff while you were sticking straws in milk cartons during recess.
Turnovers REALLY? TURNOVERS ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What happens with turnovers is that the team that sucks always wins that because their players don’t play as much while the other team will turn it over. Turnovers are a way of giving bad teams a point here. Yeah it blows my mind, you implying that we need turnovers. Unbelievable you earn your points with legit stats. Turnovers aren’t needed.
While we’re at it we should make half-court shots and dunks by players less than six-foot a category as well.
And with all the categories we already have, how did turnovers not make it? Blows my mind.
Actually, I disagree with Ante, I like all the categories. It makes the scoring very subtle and hence it gives more room to craft your team effectively. It also mirrors the real game in terms of what constitutes a good team. When it comes down to it, each category matters a lot to the real game.
Although I also agree that an IR spot is also probably fair, although from Allen’s comments it seems that its not an option in this game. Also, using the waiver wire has a cost… it also gives shite teams a chance to improve.
The funny thing is that wasn’t my friend Ante. My friend has the 5th pick os don’t make false assumptions. As for injured reverse, well this isn’t baseball. In baseball you can put them on DL and everything is fine. Basketball should make a system for injured players. I know it sucks but that’s how it is. You stick it out with the injured guys.
ALSO, you get a maximum of five moves a week. The wavier wire is weak so don’t complain about that. I’m really not sure what’s with you guys making false assumptions and stupid complaints but maybe I’m just turning into Ziva Istina Jr by hating everyone.
No trades so far in fantasy NBA?
I made 2 trade offers and was shot down both times. Maybe because I’m struggling right now.
JP kicked my ass in week one. He drafted Kobe Bryant a pick in front of me and I picked Westbrook thinking that I have scored. Kobe can’t keep up this pace all season, especially with that wrist injury. Westbrook might get traded after feuding with several teammates. DWilliams for westbrook?
Back in my high school days, it was non-stop fantasy football football, baseball, basketball and hockey. It didn’t stop for four years.
I have since graduated from football (NFL). Go watch any game on any given Sunday and you’ll hear the same shit. People rooting hard for their fantasy players, caring less for what happens in the game. It became annoying.
I love our fantasy Premiership League. All leagues nowadays need to have a cap and players monetary worth. The fantasy game has evolved.
As for our basketball league…we all wondered why Allen’s friend took Dwight Howard with the overall #1 pick. He’s smart, not dumb and it all makes sense to me now. With the categories: Offensive Rebounds, Defensive Rebounds, Total Rebounds and Blocks, this guy should clean up 4 categories every week just by having Howard.
We need to get rid of Offensive Rebounds, Defensive Rebounds, Field Goals Made (points takes care of that) and Free throws made. Everything else is necessary.
You should have one of each: SG,PG,SF,PF,C. With 2 Utility players and 3 on the bench. You adjust your lineup only once a week and receive one injury spot. This spot only opens up if one of your players becomes injured beyond Day-to-Day.
High draft picks Zach Randolph and Manu Ginobli are out for quite some time. Those teams shouldn’t be penalized. You place that player on IR and get an additional pickup. When you take them off the IR, you must drop a player. Just like in real life.
Also with this league, there shouldn’t be a waiver wire with so many add/drops being done because managers want to get in max minutes in a week.
Like Denis, it’s my first NBA fantasy season, and it’s going pretty well so far… knock on wood 🙂 Despite the thrashing that I gave Lakersin2012 last week, don’t sleep, Ziva Svircina is right up there.
Don’t really know what to make of it so far, though it appears Fisto’s getting a little lucky this week with the sheer game numbers that he has on tap… I guess thems the breaks.
Also, yahoo sucks and I have no idea what’s going on. ESPN is simple and much more self-explanatory
I agree with Ante about too many categories and players. Also, in the league I do with my friends we have the lineups set weekly so you don’t have to check everyday
@Allen,
This is my first time doing fantasy bball, so I dont know what to expect. I’m not sure how an “injury” slot would even work. If you look at the scrubs that are left over as free agents, Ante has no one to replace Zbo anyways.
I say for anyone that has a player out for at least a week, he can throw that player on wavers and pick them up when that player returns. Anyone object?
I think there are too many categories. 3 categories just for rebounding(offensive, defensive, and total). Making it more luck than skill.
I’m not here to complain, because this has been my first experience with fantasy bball. After this season, we can all sit down and talk about what went right and what went wrong.
Bristol Cox should be able to drop Ginobli for a Mookie Blaylock and then when he returns pick him up off of wavers.
Those are the only 2 injuries that I know.
Excuses?
When have I ever made excuses? And only one week has elapsed buddy.
Ante making excuses? Well that’s just vintage Ante right there!! That being said, I’ll make it smaller next year it’s a bit too extreme. Still vintage Ante with the excuses about the fantasy league.

Looks like someone close to Bogut is seriously ill or even worse. Hopefully everything works out with his family.
@allen
I don’t like the set up of the fantasy league. Too many categories and too many players. You didn’t add an injury slot for one player. Looks like I’m off to the Sacko this year.
Ante’s fantasy team continues to fall apart with this news. Poor guy
Ask him what he would have done if the lockout was still going on.

What’s the Croatian beats he rocks before the game in 2012?
What did he do to improve his game over the break?
Ball so hard.
Hold your questions. Bogut is in Australia on personal leave. No dice this year. We are looking into New York and Golden State.
No need in sending any more questions since Bogut wont be around to answer them. Too bad, hopefully the news improves for Bogut.
Did he ever think of playing for the Croatian NT? Was it even possible? Is there a story behind it? Was Australia his second choice?

Tough break for you guys with the Bogut news.
Ask him if he is happy with the direction the Bucks are going in right now
or
if he thinks he would have made an All-Star team if he had been playing for another team other than the Bucks.
But since this is CroatianSports and not NBA.com, you may as well ask him some more questions about his Croathood.

HAHAHAH!!! Too good!
Jesus Christ terrible attempts at comedy above of me by the messiah himself.
Anyway I’m not going to request anything because you guys usually do an excellent job with the interview. I’m really looking forward to it.
Four questions:
Why can’t the average pro basketball player save any money and so many of them are broke within years of leaving the NBA?
Does he have nay baby mamma drams?
Was he sick of Micheal Redd’s preaching?
Is his injury-plagued body held together by glue, duct tape and rubber bands?
does he think he can make the all star game this year?
