🇭🇷🔜🇹🇷 As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Livaković will be leaving Dinamo Zagreb for Turkish club Fenerbahçe. Dinamo will receive €9m in the transfer. Personal terms have already been agreed on.
Deal is all but done. Simply waiting for contracts to be signed. Is this the best move for him?
This is 100% a good move for Livaković. He’s going to a much better league compared to the HNL and will protect himself from getting absolutely rocked in a top-5 European league. I personally still think he has tons to learn as a goalie in terms of becoming more confident. The jury is still out on his aerial presence in the box. Fiorentina, Celtic, Manchester United all showed interest in Croatia’s #1 keeper. At the end of the day, if Livaković can’t cut it in Turkey, a top-5 league would shatter his confidence pretty quickly.
If he can have a successful season at Fenerbahce, Livaković can absolutely move to a bigger league in a year’s time. Let’s see what he come up with.
Livaković is 28 years old. Fenerbahce finished 2nd place in Turkey this past season and will be qualifying for Europa League.
Latest rumour Loveo Majer could be going to Inter Milan..??
Interesting, what do you guys think??
Serie A would be good for him.
It would be a great move…hopefully it happens.
Yea, all the Newcastle talk is making me nervous.
Can’t see him doing well in EPL. He would definitely be brought on to start at Newcastle and provide them with creativity…but the EPL is merciless. They’d bench him the second his slow ass doesn’t track back on one play, ha ha.
Rennes turned down Wolfsburg’s and Bayer Leverkusen’s offers. Those two teams are only marginal upgrades to where he is right now. Bundesliga is better overall though.
But, I’d prefer him in Serie A over all other leagues right now. That would be better for him.
But Rennes still want like 25+ million for him. EPL teams may be the only ones willing to pay that amount.
Ya… I’m also afraid the EPL would swallow Majer. Serie A is a good place for our midfielders. I was even hoping for an Inter return for Kova.
Kotarski to Bayern??? Just read that
Not surprised.
The kid is a great keeper in the making.
Bayern is both good and bad. They’ll have him play backup to Neuer, which means he would be on the bench and potentially slow down his development.
The good news is Neuer is a die hard Croat, and would probably take him under his wing. Not sure if that goalkeeping coach (Tapalovic) is still there, but if he is, then that’s good too.
But Kotarski is too good to be a backup. He should just stay and continue to develop until a top team wants to buy him as a starter.
Yeah for sure. He is a great keeper in the making but I thought whoa easy now. But yeah him and Neuer could sing war songs on a yacht on the Adriatic. Lol.
Good move for Livakovic. Turkey (Türkiye?) has a few excellent teams, so he will get league games that are highly competitive, yet still not be under the same level of pressure as in England or Spain. Galatasaray, Besiktas, and Fenerbahce are all top teams who will be trying to win the league. Those fixtures will be high pressure situations. The second tier of teams, including Trabzonspor, also play at a high level and will be trying to get better. Livakovic will be tested more regularly than in the HNL, and against 19 different teams instead of only 9.
Fenerbahce will be qualifying for Conference League as Turkish cup winner. They will start in the 2nd qualifying round (cf. Hrvatski kup winner, Hajduk, will start in the 3rd qualifying round).
Turkish league champion Galatasaray will start in the CL 2nd qualifying round, same as Dinamo.
Got me wondering if our HNL is currently ranked higher than the Turkish league??
Turkey is 12th, we’re 19th. Sizable gap.
Ah I see… so it’s the UEFA country coefficient at the end of season 2021/22 that determines the European places for season 2023/24. Back then, we were 19th while Turkey was 20th… that should account for the slightly higher qualifying berth of our cup winner in Conference League 2023/24 (3rd round) compared to that of Turkey’s cup winner (2nd round).
But yeah you’re right, at the end of season 2022/23, Turkey shot up from 20th to 12th while we remained 19th.
A shame djokovic couldn’t win today. I know a lot of people here look at him playing for Serbia and automatically want him to lose but djokovic as a half Croat has always been very fair and respectful to croatia. I would’ve liked To see him go for the calendar grand slam. Unfortunately he ran into an excellent fast player from Spain and people from the Balkans often don’t have the agility to keep up on that type of game. Djokovic was hugely thrown off as he would hit usual winners that alcaraz got back and with balkan pace he lacked the ability to transition quickly to get to alcarazs drop shots. It seems a new king of tennis has arrived and with no big competitors like djoko had (federer, nadal) , alcaraz May be able to beat his title record and become the best ever
People from the Balkans are generally far more agile and athletic than people from Spain.
It has nothing to do with agility but age. One is 36 and the other is 20.
Alcaraz being 16 years younger was the difference. As far as records go, they are all broken soon or later. It might be Alcaraz or it might be someone in 50 year’s time but it will be broken.
Even luka has been burned by some kids speed It happens
I didn’t see it but I bet if they played again djokovic would take it from being smarter and wiser
This Spanish kid may be great but still a long long long way to win as much as djokovic
Dannyj, agree with your comments. This was a very close match and could have gone the other way. Djokovic has a few more years in him and I’m sure that he will win a few more grand slam titles.
Good luck liva
May he have a great season and a killer euro cup
We become champions and I don’t care if he shits the bed for rest of his career;)
This was just like Vida after the last World Cup.
All this hype about going to EPL and all these top leagues…then he just ends up in Turkey.
I’m okay with this. EPL would have been a disaster for Livaković.
I kind of wanted him to go to a midtable La Liga club, but this is probably safer.
Agreed. It’s a terrific move for him. He is relatively young for a goalkeeper still. Good for him.
