Dinamo pulled off a miracle last week in Spain, defeating Real Betis 1-0 in the 1st leg of their Conference League playoff match. There weren’t many chances on goal by either side but Petković was able to convert a 2nd half penalty kick to give Dinamo their first ever win on Spanish soil.
If Dinamo can pull off a draw or better Thursday night at Maksimir, they will find themselves in the Sweet 16 of the Europa Conference League. Not ideal for a Croatian club that has made dents in the Europa League over the past decade; also not too shabby for the team currently sitting 3rd in the Croatian HNL.
A positive result against a top-10 La Liga could give Dinamo the confidence boost they need at this point in the season. Can they make it happen?
Leverkusen wins again. Stanisic back to the bench with all the crnci players back from Cup of Nations
…and the two crnci were the worst rated players for Leverkusen.
Leverkusen played a bench lineup for that match. Look at who else was on the bench.
Does luka sucic still play soccer?
He’s going on loan to Hajduk.
Dinamo v PAOK with the first match at home.
Our clubs do not have a good record when meeting Greek clubs, maybe it’s time for that to change.
Hey fellas, those of you who have watched Petar Sucic, is he good enough to don our colors? He seems to be doing well for Dinamo.
I understand he’s a BiH U21 international who starts regularly for the first team. Not sure if he has been called up to their senior team before.
I’m not sure about the FIFA rules too, but I have this impression if you are 21 (which Petar will be in October) and still playing for the youth team of a certain country, you won’t be allowed to switch allegiance.
If my memory serves me right, he’s related to Luka Sucic. And just saw this on Wikipedia… like Dalic, he was born in Livno and play in the same position (DM).
I mean, we don’t have any promising successor to Epic Brozo atm… what say you guys? Is he good enough to wear the checkers?
You don’t call Kristijan Jakić, who is the starting DM at Augsburg promising? Or Nikola Moro, who was starting at Bologna most of the season? Even Toma Basić has found himself a starting spot in Serie A. Brozović was once young too. He wasn’t always the player he is now.
Not sure about Sucic.
Oliver lukic is what I’m watching with nerves. Lukic I hope will be signed and delivered to us.
I think he already switched to us.
His Instagram shows a photo of him wearing our kit and making a comment about how proud he is to represent us:
https://www.instagram.com/oliverlukic_/p/C3X92wgtaLv/?img_index=1
Judging by the photo of the opponent, it looks like this was the Croatia U19 friendly match against Saudi Arabia on February 13th where he made his debut.
Lukic is supposed to be a massive prospect.
These poor Austrians are developing all this young talent and they none want to represent them.
Watched a bit of the second half U19 match v Saudi Arabia which we lost 2 – 1. Lukic did score for us from the penalty spot late on.
Did not see enough of him to make a judgement. Three days later watched us lose 2 – 0 to Greece, however Lukic did not play.
Some people, probably his agent is saying that he is better than Luka Sucic at the same age? Not sure about this, however from what I saw I would say that Luka Sucic is more elegant on the ball whereas Lukic is physically stronger and quicker.
Nice. Wasn’t aware he already switched. Good stuff.
As all of us on here know. It’s either a hell yes or a hell no for the repka.
We don’t need the lukewarms
And I won’t throw sosa into it as he should have been capped earlier we all know that and it wouldn’t have become such a thing
The problem is now we are getting all this potential diaspora coming back and this could actually get into someone’s head
It’s not so automatic you will actually with the checkers
But still is it better to make the bench for us or say play with a handful of Serbs and whoever else in Austria or Swiss
That could be debated
Very happy 🙂 to hear Baturina held his own against a decent La Liga side.
Yeah, like Dannyj, I get the feeling that he has a good attitude which is something that always helps if you wanna go far in a highly competitive sport like football.
Great result, congrats Dinamo!
Baturina played well in both matches against Betis, however this is a poor Betis team and I’m surprised that they are currently 7th in La Liga.
According to the Arena Sport TV commentator they have a lot of injuries at the moment to their starting 11 and last week against Dinamo they were missing 10 players from their starting lineup. Not sure if this is correct? but nevertheless, well done to Dinamo for knocking out La Liga team injuries or not.
10 players?
Sounds like a huge heap of BS copium to me
Iggy not sure if it is BS ? but have a read of the article below.
Spomenutih 11 dostupnih igrača su: Hector Bellerin, Juan Miranda, Chadi Riad, Johnny Cardoso, Marc Roca, Nabil Fekir, Rodri, Abde Ezzalzouli, Willian Jose, Cedric Bakambu i Aitor Ruibal.
Real Betis player value is 200 million euros, Dinamo player value is 70 million euros.
You’d expect Real Betis to have a much better team but I’m not sure they were.
What was on display in the two matches was not better than Dinamo.
How’s this nevistic keeper?
There hasn’t been a livakovic update for a while
We need him to go all world for a month again
In 2020 Nevistic played for Rijeka and excelled both in HNL and on European stage. At that point in time many thought that he was our best goalkeeper. He then joined Dinamo and was seen as a replacement for Livakovic. That is where his problems started, because Dinamo were unable to sell Livakovic , meaning that Nevestic was on the bench. Nevistic finally got his chance last year when Livakovic left for Turkey, however his performances were patchy, and he got dropped and Zagorac took over as the no.1 goalkeeper for Dinamo. However, Zagorac got injured a month or so ago and Nevistic took his chance and has been keeping well. He is a good goalkeeper however almost 2 years on the bench set him back and he will need more time to reach the level that he was at in 2020.
Good to hear on baturina
I just read last week on here he is overrated and a bust;)
Relax I joke, but he has a good attitude it seems. Something like the midfield busts we talked about like the god of halilovic was missing
Good for Dinamo
Good for their prospects
Overall, I thought that Dinamo was the better side over the two legs and deserved to progress to the Round of 16. Good team effort all round, but Hoxha and Baturina were better than most. Unlucky that VAR overturned the Dinamo penalty in the 77 minute, there was definite contact with Hoxha’s foot however it was deemed that there was contact with the ball first ?
Hoxha was ruled to have fouled the defender by stick out his foot.
Great win.
Round of 16 draw tomorrow.
Prsti prekriženi.
Sutalo with a red card for Ajax. What a horrid time he is having for Ajax. He better pray that Ajax advance.
I remember someone saying or sharing an article saying he missed Croatia
Whether that’s cause he was struggling or being home sick is making him struggle or what who knows
But petko and orsic have showed you can hang in Zagreb and be serviceable for the repka
Livaja too if he had a better attitude
How about Sosa handball on the goal-line after the Sutalo red ?
He was only saved bc the ref called the softest foul on a keeper I’ve ever seen

I hate commenting prior to the end of the game but I will today.
I remember telling many here that our top team in the HNL can play against any club outside of the top 4-5 and I still think that. Dinamo look decent vs this Betis club and to be honest, I felt they’ve been unlucky.
I’m curious why the ref didn’t let Dinamo take the corner kick at the end of the first half?
He also chose to not review that potential PK for Dinamo in the first half…then VAR killed off the potential PK in the second half.
Slavonac,
A great result for Dinamo…
Can you comment on how Baturina played? And the younger players? I gather Vidovic did not play…..
Not all of us could access the game…any further detail and observations, now that the game is over, are appreciated….
I thought Baturina was almost a genius today. He was tricky, smart and very creative. I’d give him a 7.5 (which is a true evaluation…and a massive compliment) for this game.
Perkovic was awesome today, the kid played like a solid wall. 7
Sucic was also extremely good in this game. I also give him a 7
overall Dinamo was very solid and deserved the result!
Yea Baturina was very solid.
He played like a veteran out there.
I expected Betis to pressure us hard in the dying moments, but to be honest…they didn’t really create much at the end there.
Baturina played very confident in those final moments, and he did make a good foul when needed ha ha.
Slavonac, Perkovic stuffed up with the Betis goal and deserves no more than 6 in my estimation.
I didn’t realize that Petkovic is the top scorer in Europa Conference League (with 5 goals).
Petkovic has only been missing that big game every day attitude, day in and day out like luka
His fitness would subsequently been in turn that much better
He is obviously very capable of playing at the top top level on his day
It seems like he just never had that killer work ethic and discipline to hit a mandzo type level
Perisic type training level into petko and my friends you got a guy who could have racked up in La liga just like budimir this season
I’m just happy we have two guys operating at their higher end right now and I pray they can sustain it over summer
If we win the euro and the Euros and the wheels fall off for two years…screw it sign me up
I wish then the best representees of HNL quality.
