Well, that game went as expected. A Dinamo team without injured play makers Sučić and Petković stood no chance against an Arsenal side battling for the Premier League crown. It was all Arsenal for 90 minutes with Declan Rice opening the scoring in just the 2′ of play. Arsenal would go on to win 3-0 at Emirates with 63% ball possession. Dinamo was not able to muster one shot on goal. Dinamo’s highest rated player on FOTMOB was Torrente on the backline posting a 6.8 match rating.
Now Dinamo MUST beat AC Milan at Maksimir on January 29th if they want to continue their Champions League season this campaign. Anything short of that and their European season will be over. Dinamo will kick themselves for allowing Monaco to comeback from a 2-0 deficit at Maksimir during Matchday 2. Those two points could have meant a draw versus AC Milan would be good enough for a top-24 spot and playoff round berth. Could Cannvaro and Dinamo pull off a miracle? Sure. But this team is pretty battered at the moment coming out of the winter break and currently sit seven points behind Rijeka/Dinamo on the HNL table.x
Wow
Hull city 3-0 Sheffield
Pandur shut-out
Massive 3 points for Hull out of the relegation zone vs the #1 team in the Championship
I think he was dropped for a couple of games for England U21 Carl Rushworth – and back in today – so massive response by him
Rushworth has on loan from Brighton – he has just been recalled by Brighton a day ago
So Pandur was able to be beat out Rushworth for #1 slot – ie he has been better that a PL caliber keeper w insane distribution
Of course Dalic will keep calling up a keeper playing in Cyprus instead, lol
Good win by our handballers 32 – 26 over Iceland. Our goalkeeper Kuzmanovic with 17 saves.
On Sunday we need to win against Slovenia for a spot in the QF’S.
Attention Dalic
Franjo Ivanovic posted an IG story 12 hours ago
It’s a pic of him cupping both his ears after one of the goals yesterday (you know to hear the noise in the crowd)
And he CC’d on the post @HNS_CFF and @HNS.youth IG accounts
i.e. he is WAITING for a call up by you Dalic – please don’t fluff it up – call him up March and cap him – even if this is just a crazy blip of positive form (doubt it) – still cap him – before we lose him to Austria – you need to be RUTHLESS is your call-ups esp. when players have OPTIONS (e.g. Sigur who cares about him – but we should have still capped and tied him – out of principle) – be ruthless Dalic
Ivanovic looks more a younger quicker and clinical version of Kramarić
Blood him now
Anyone heard about rumours for Marco Pasalic in Orlando city? Really hope this doesn’t happen..!
Yeah, a few guys here were talking about it in earlier threads. I sure hope it doesn’t happen but at the same time, am resigned to him cashing in instead of patiently waiting it out for an offer that can improve his standing with the repka and Dalic.
Ivanovic with a pair in the 2nd half for his side. Playing real well
Final result: USG 2-1 Braga
Thanks to Franjo, USG has progressed to the next stage of Europa League, most likely the playoffs although they still have a theoretical chance of reaching the round of 16 directly. One of his strengths must be the ability to finish with both feet. His goals as below… both are clinical, left-footed strikes.
50′ USG [1] – 1 Braga

Appears that the same goal is being broadcast. The second goal was a beautiful team goal. Fantastic finish. One touch on a bumpy pitch and clinically side footed into the corner. Had Dinamo been more efficient, they could have had some telling shots on goal instead of having their shots blocked or interfered with.
I was flipping through the Europa games just now. Does anyone know why Livakovic isn’t on the game sheet?
He is injured and has been for the last two weeks.
Blowing a 2 goal lead late against Monaco is whats gonna fuck us.
Still made some good coin with this run though.
Dinamo achieved the moral victory by keeping the score within 3 goals. They could have easily lost they game by 6-0. The first half was hard to watch when one team dominates to the degree that Arsenal did.
Without Misic & Susic in the midfield it will be difficulty for Dinamo to get results against superior compaction like Arsenal.
On a positive note. I thought Torrente was Dinamo’s best payer. Baturina also played well but he was essentially on his own on attack. Ademi fought hard. The rest are not up to par. Not much else Canavaro can change at this point.
The 3:0 result for Arsenal was pretty much what everyone expected. I’m not upset that Dinamo lost this one, however i didn’t like the way they played this game. It seemed like the new coach’s strategy was to avoid another 7 goal blowout. They looked scared to commit forward on the rare moments when Dinamo had possession, and failed to even get a shot on target. I guess in the end 3:0 isn’t terrible. No pressure vs Milan. They should just get out there and give our fans a good show, regardless of the result. As Maminjo pointed out in detail, we don’t have much of a chance to advance even if we get a win. Time to start focusing on the HNL.
That big 1-7 loss at Munich will hurt them even if they win.
Teams like Brugge and PSV managed to secure 11 points, and it will come to goal differential (even if Dinamo wins against Milan). Dinamo won’t be able to make that up against them.
Stuttgart play PSG in their final game…but both teams have 10 points so a draw would keep both of them ahead of Dinamo.
Even if one of them loses to the other, the available spot created by the losing team will still likely be taken by Man City (who are one spot ahead of Dinamo at 25th place).
The Portuguese teams only have 10 points. Sporting are playing Bologna in their final game and only need a draw to achieve 11 points. Same goes for Benfica against Juventus. Juve could probably do us a favor and win that one.
We need to win against AC Milan, and hope for at least two of the following to happen…
– Either PSG or Stuttgart to win in their game against each other (no draw),
– Sporting to lose against Bologna,
– Benfica to lose against Juventus,
– Man City to lose to Brugge…or Man City beat Brugge by at least 5 or 6 goals,
– PSV to lose to Liverpool by something like 10 goals
The only realistic ones are Benfica losing to Juventus in Turin, and PSG beating Stuttgart.
Orsic has now joined Pafos FC of Cyprus
That’s a shame
Delicious assist (8:45 of video):

Dinamo did well to keep it down to 3 – 0. Next Wednesday against AC Milan they will need a win, highly unlikely but possible ?
Need to prey for a bit of snow and turn OFF the underground heating for the pitch. Freezing temperatures, a bit of snow and a slightly frozen pitch would make it interesting.
It likely won’t matter even if they do win.
It would be nice for morale and to show that they belong. Other than the embarassing 1-7 loss to Bayern…finishing just outside that top-24 isn’t a bad feat when you consider how badly teams below Dinamo did.
No Trossard and Partey starting
Y’all way too negative (hopefully you don’t go thru life like that)
It’s football – anything can happen on the day
Let’s be realistic. If they can keep the loss to within 3 goals it will be a moral victory. Most likely they will loose by more than 3 though. Arsenal is on a different level.
It would be funny if they get blown out and Canavaro get’s fired in his first game….lol
I don’t think anyone’s delusional enough to predict a Dinamo win, but there’s always hope. Remember the upset in 2015?

Dinamo still missing some key players due to injury and having not played a competitive match for more than a month are up against it. I cannot see them getting anything out of the match in London? I just hope that they do not get thumped?
In all probability they will need to beat AC Milan at home to have any chance of progressing to the knockout round.
Fully agree Mart.
A tough hill to climb against Arsenal in London, especially dealing with injuries.
Hoping they play well and it is not a Bayern redux. No fun to see a legendary Croatian team get beat like that.
We also have Kova and Gvardiol playing in Paris today as Man City goes up against PSG. Kovacic looked great in his last Premier League game, I watched all of it. A goal and a brilliant assist, but many other highlights. He hit Halaand with an absolutely perfect pass early in the game, threaded the ball to him right down the middle and put Haaland in alone on the keeper but Haaland, who rarely misses an opportunity like that, did not beat the goalie. Kova had a great game. Best player on the field.
The hope is Arsenal (some of their players) have an off day
While Cannavaro has sprinkled some spirit into the team psyche
Was good to see Baturina take part in the press conference – Cannavaro needs to get him to step up and the first way to do that is take ownership in front of the press before the game
The only chance is if Cannavaro turns out to be some phenom coach that somehow wasn’t visible during his time outside of coaching in the Chinese second division.
