AP/ MODRIĆ DOUBLES THE LEAD FOR TOTTENHAM
Luka Modrić doubled Tottenham’s lead in the 45+1′ to make it 2-0 for Spurs heading into halftime. Modrić was then tripped up in the box during second half action which resulted in a penalty shot, however, Welshman Gareth Bale had his poor attempt blocked. Tottenham currently won 3-0 with Niko Kranjčar being subbed into the game in the 81′, making his Champions League this season debut for Tottenham.

Dejan Lovren and the Lyon defense were in shambles today, giving up three unanswered goals to Schalke on game day 5 of the Champions League. Dejan played the full 90 minutes for Lyon and wasn’t at fault for either of the three goals. Ivan Rakitić warmed the bench for Schalke, either as a punishment for not signing an extension with the club or resting for Saturday’s Bundesliga match at Kaiserslautern. With Benfica losing at Hapoel Tel-Aviv, both Schalke and Lyon are through to the sweet 16.

EDUARDO TUNED OUT THE SERBS IN BELGRADEShakhtar Donetsk cruised to a 3-0 victory over Partizan Tuesday night to put them in the driver’s seat of Group H with only one game left. Because of an Arsenal loss to Braga, Shakhtar only need a draw at home against Portuguese club Braga on December 8th to top the group and claim a seed for the Champions League Round of 16.
Darijo Srna played the entire match, captaining his Ukrainian side to yet another promising Champions League win. Srna assisted on Shakhtar’s second goal in the 59′, finding a wide open Jadson in the box for an easy one-timer.
Srna led this same Shakhtar side to a UEFA Cup championship in 2009. With reports once again swirling that the Croatian captain is close to an English transfer this winter, the rumor, recognizable only as deja vu, should be dismissed just as quickly. Srna is not going anywhere- not with Shakhtar one step away from playing amongst Europe’s Final 16.
SRNA ASSIST TO JADSON
Eduardo was subbed into the game in the 62′ and scored a tap-in goal right in front of the net six minutes later to cap the night for Shakhtar. However, on the play, it appeared that Partizan goalkeeper Vladimir Stojković gave Eduardo a dead-leg with his knee on the way down. Dudu would be fine. Eduardo now has three goals this Champions League campaign in only 159 minutes played. Who would have thought?
EDUARDO CAPS OFF THE WIN
PRANJIĆ HOLDING HIS GROUND VS. ROMA
Danijel Pranjić played the full match for Bayern Munich at left-back on Tuesday as the Bavarian giants lost their first Champions League game of the season, 3-2 to AS Roma. After ‘Super’ Mario Gomez scored a double in the first half to put Bayern up 2-0, Roma fought back hard, scoring three unanswered goals in the second half to save their CL season. With the one goal loss, Bayern lock up top spot in the group through aggregate with Roma and will receive a seed in the Round of 16.
Pranjić is still getting plenty of playing time on the left side for Bayern because of injuries. He got burned a few times against Roma, but Bayern looked to have taken their foot off the pedal in the second half anyways. Nonetheless, it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere this winter as Bayern’s roster is already thin as it is.
Really nice style and design and wonderful articles , absolutely nothing else we want : D.
Thanks for the link Zach. Ante and I will most likely test it out on Thursday
@ Zach G
Assist of the year!
We're going to try this for Europa this week. Once again you come through big for CSR! Thanks.
i believe theres no more debate on Lakic and Ilicevic being in Croatia's squad now. Croatia been desperate for a Lakic for ages. Croatia always had players who can cross but nobody who can head goals in the middle. Spain play pretty football but even they have Fernando Torres who is strong in the air. Its great that Croatia mini strikers like Olic, Petric and Eduardo – even Klasnic scores all his goals on his left foot, its good Croatia finally got people like Lakic, Kalinic, Jelavic and Mate Bilic to accompany the technical forwards and the workhorses.
As for Ilicevic thats a bang on selection. Been following him for ages and he's finally gathered the confidence to play in a top league. If the team starts picking itself then it'll stop Slaven Bilic getting himself confused with the wrong players.
I believe Cale has also proven himself better than Bartulovic. Also I think there is potential in Stiven Rivic. I definitely think he's better than Milan Badelj. Badelj will only fulfill his potential when he goes abroad.
@ Ante and Denis
You should consider this for a Croatia game.

They do it on matchdays on ESPN and its really run to read and comment while watching the game.
i watched the tottenham game and though although modric played a pertty good game… he did make a lot of careless passes, he gave the ball away a lot.. as the game progresed he did play better, but just wanted to point out that he did make some bad passes, he needs to be more accurate in the future
Cool, calm Modric comes through for Tottenham. I dont know what is going on with Rakitic. Something tells me he's gone this winter.
Jure, thanks for the link.

Modric draws a penalty, but Bale misses it.
Modric scores against Werder Bremen! 2-0 Tottenham at halftime. Of course my feed froze right before the goal….
Srna + Eduardo = pure class
