90′ Brazil GOAL. 3-1. Another 80-yard counter-attack goal. This will surely be the topic of debate for Dalić and his team when they get back to Croatia.
86′ Brazil GOAL. 2-1. Thiago steps up and converts after choosing left. Livaković goes the opposite way.
85′ PENALTY BRAZIL. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Šutalo barely touches the guy in the box and he goes down. Such a joke whenever a Brazilian is touched in the box.
84′ GOOOOOALLLLLLL!!!! Majer scores a wonderful goal after a 50-yard dash down field. With his first touch of the game, Fruk lasers a perfect ball to Majer in between two Brazilian. Perfect touch. Perfect ball. 1-1.
83′ SUB. Petar Sučić off. Toni Fruk on.
82′ SUB. Vušković off. Smolčić comes on.
81′ Vušković steam rolls a Brazilian for a yellow card.
80′ SUBS. Perišić and Baturina come off. Marco Pašalić and Majer come on.
60′ SUBS GALORE! Modrić, Kramarić, Budimir, DCC all come off. Mario Pašalić, Pongračić, Musa, Moro come on.
HT 1-0 Brazil. Key takeaways. The fact that Vusković is starting means he will be a starter at the World Cup. I would be shocked if Dalić didn’t play him after starting Vušković twice this week. Livaković made some phenomenal saves. He is in fine form after not playing the entire 2nd half of 2025. There should be no question about his fitness at this point in the conversation.
Counter attacks have been Croatia’s Achilles Heel for well over a decade. This is something Dalićc needs to address. England will have fast wingers to challenge our defense just as Ghana will. That is exactly how Brazil scored.
I absolutely love this lineup outside of Gvardiol being injured. I thought Baturina can be a wing-like player but I am not seeing that tonight. Dalić will need to spread the field out at the World Cup with speed and a true winger. He will need to make a decision to bench Kramarić or Baturina so he can play Marco Pašalić opposite of Perišić. That is what needs to be done.
45′ GOAL. 1-0 Brazil. Following the corner, Brazil grab the ball and go on a 80-yard counter attack. Vini absolutely burns Sučić in the box, lays it off to Danilo, who fires past Livaković. Nothing he can do. The play built up so quickly.
45′ Modrić whips a free kick into the box and Vušković gets a head on it. The ball is on frame but Bento tips it over the bar.
41′ Livaković with another great save! Brazil will a rifling shot from 22 yards out. It would have made it through to the bottom-right corner but Livaković gets a finger on it for his third save.
40′ Kramarić with a volley from inside the box but right at the keeper. Great attempt.
35′ Livaković with a HUGE save!! Should be 1-0 after Modrić gave the ball away once again. Joao Pedro with a great look on goal but Livaković gets low to smother the ball.
28′ YELLOW CARD. DCC picks up an aggressive foul at midfield halting the Brazil attack. He came in a bit card. Any light and it is probably just a foul.
23′ YELLOW CARD. Perišić picks up a foul just outside the box. This game has the feeling of a match that means just a bit more than the usual friendly.
20′ Modrić uncharacteristically gives the ball away to Vini like they were still playing together on Real Madrid. Brazil gets a shot off through traffic but Livaković makes a great save moving in the opposite direction.
15′ A relatively show start to the first 15 minutes but the most fired up guy out there so far is Perišić. He’s trying to make things happen down the left side.
Croatia wrap up their week in Orlando Tuesday night against Brazil from Camping World Stadium 8AM (ET). The Vatreni are coming off a 2-1 victory over Colombia while Brazil lost 2-1 to France in New England last week.
I have a feeling that Dalić was holding most of his cards against Colombia but will send out a World Cup lineup against the 5-time world champions. Expect Modrić, Kramarić, Budimir to start. I’m curious to see who Dalić plays on the wings and how much love Marco Pašalić and Martin Baturina get in this match.
WOW! This is a World Cup ready lineup! Maybe the best lineup we have seen from Dalić since 2018. The only thing we’re missing here is an injured Gvardiol.

My take from what I saw these last two games…
3-4-3(3-3-1-2-1)3-4-2-1
I believe this wood be our strongest line.
——————————Musa——————————

——Gvardiol——Vušković——Stanisic———

These would be the ideal subs.

One other player here that deserves a call should be Stojkovic as I would lean on him as a better option currently then Ivanovic in this role…
I to je to idemoooo…
I think this is very good to excellent.
I might put Budimir to start depending on the opposition. His La Liga goals are hard to ignore.
I don’t know if we can or should risk only three at the back. I would like to listen to more opinions on that, more info on the cost benefit analysis from our long time observers who know the game well. But no doubt those three would be the three if we went that route.
If it’s not those three, but we’re going with three others as subs, there is a risk that we could get badly burned by it.

@ anonymous
I ended up going with the pitchside lunge hospitality package. At the end of the day, it was pricey but simply the best offering
Please don’t bring up the pj. With the war going on, the price of jet fuel is off the charts so it’s going to be a lot more costly to fly around this summer. Usually it will cost about 2500/hr in fuel charges and current run rates at certain airports fills you up at 3500/hr.
To do list for the pimply analyst:
1) Exchange Lounge tix for full private suite in Dallas and Philly (FIFA will allow)
2) Wait list for Toronto private suite
3) War will end soon (and/or OPEC will increase output), execute WTI & Brent oil bearish trades (e.g. bear put spreads)
4) Explore PJ jet fuel hedging alternatives, including purchasing a refinery (as a natural hedge) – to be funded via profits from 3) above
Thx

Where your chicken ass at?
Mr. Bear is waiting
Let the bear hibernate. I would rather listen to anonymous and his commentaries on just about every Croatian soccer player around the globe. Anonymous, keep us informed with your verbose commentaries with that self-confident attitude of yours. Lol.

Never mind Saranic Anonga.
I was looking forward to your questions for Mr. Bear up above yet none incoming. Where your ass at huh
If they are going to make these tournaments longer and a more circuitous path to win, having a deep roster will be valuable component to a winning team.
Maybe we have Perisic and Kovacic in the first 50 minutes, and Modric and Kramaric in the last 50+, to keep them fresh.
Hopefully we don’t rely on the shootouts as much as in the past as a means to victory.
We have to stop crucifying the likes of speed demons Pasalic and Musa for playing in the MLS and rely on our own visual critique as what they do on the field, for the NT, with the current heavy-laden aged roster.
@Truth
Did you ever refund those stupid FIFA Lounge hospitality seats next to the hoi polloi ? LMAO
Anonymous told you – the really rich Croatians all bought PRIVATE BOXES for the matches – we don’t sit with commoners in FIFA Lounges LMAO
Of course they are all sold out not (they were months ago)
Imagine pretending to fly in a PJ and not buying a private box for the games

Esmir Bajraktarevic
https://x.com/TMplayersource/status/2039443799173173407
Look at this interview
The interviewer asked him 5 times “why Bosnia not US?”
Look at this answer
U can tell there was never a doubt (his parents are from Srebrenica)
Wish more of our diaspora truly felt like this too (well we know Franjo does)
Not the wishy-washy ones like Sosa, Stanisic, Segecic (“I have options if Australia doesn’t play me”) and others
I also don’t see much difference in Bajraktarevic vs. Jagusic – Esmir is probably slightly more explosive and crafty in the dribble on more of a winger (which is aesthetically pleasing to watch) while Jagusic is more of a hybrid/inside forward was the cannon of a shot
If Esmir is good enough to play for Bosnia – Jaga is good enough to play for Croatia
Don’t insult Stanisic by saying he’s wishy-washy.
He methodically worked around his very pro-German agency and his very pro-German club by pretending to want to play for Germany…giving interviews about how it would be an honor to play for Germany….until he was able to switch.
For a 20 year-old to do that to the Germans (with all that pressure and guys who could ruin your career if you don’t play ball) you have to give him respect.
Bajraktarevic wasn’t as heavily pursued by USA soccer, his agency wasn’t giving him any pressure, nor do the US public even know who he is (as soccer isn’t even a top-5 sport in the US). For all you know, this kid would have folded like a lawn chair if he was born-and-raised in football-crazed Germany and was being pressured by them. Lots of Balkanci chose Germany over their origin nations.
Filip Pavic is now going to have to go through the same thing that Stanisic did (same agents and same ball club).
Hopefully he can hold out and we cap him to our senior team.
Also…Segecic probably never wanted to play for Aus over Cro. I don’t think it was a reaction to whether Aus called him up or not (like how Popovic is playing it on interviews). Cro was his dream and he got it. Good for him.
No player ratings for Brazil-Croatia?
Budimir 6 Kramaric 6 Baturina 6.5 P.Sucic 6.5 Modric 6.5 Perisic 6.5 Sutalo 6 Caleta-Car 6.5 Vuskovic 7.5 Stanisic 6.5 Livakovic 8.5
Bench:
Majer 7.5
Fruk 7
Everyone else 6
Our team did look slow for majority of the game. It goes to show that when you play speedy teams like Argentina and Brazil where they can make you pay on counter attacks. It was on display this game. Need the youth!!!! Enough with thinking guys like Perisic and Modric can do it all still. I’d sub Modric off after 50-60 minutes even. Perišić isn’t a stater anymore.
Livakovic and Vuskovic held our team together.
The first goal: All ball watching. Three defenders on one guy is unacceptable. Left the man unmarked for that shot. We were also way too deep on that counter attack.
Second goal: It was never a penalty but Sutalo was slow to catch up.
Third goal: Bad giveaway and an all of our defenders pinching and Livakovic had to come out and challenge
Vuskovic looked amazing but has to be careful and was getting a bit aggressive. I know he’s eager but might cost us one game.
Players that should never start: Stualo, Budimir, Kramaric, etc. all too slow or old.
Start Baturina, Musa, Pašalić, Matanovic, Sucic.
No more back five with Perisic as a LB.
Gvardiol and Vuskovic would be two monsters in the middle. Stanišić as a LB and have Jakić as a RB. I only trust him, Pongracic and maybe CC but everyone else is horrid for defence in my opinion.
Valincic would’ve been a great addition. He played solid in all the Europa League games.
Under 21 team looks solid. Let’s hope we can do something for once when we qualify.
We need Vasilj to be playing for us. He is definitely 2nd choice and better than our other gk right now. His father plays for us.
He’s not that great.
Didn’t save any PKs and gave away a very bad goal.
He let in two bad goals against Wales and Italy. Always seems out of position. Made one easy save out of the four penalties missed in two games. He’s not that bad of goalkeeper. Consider the fact he plays on a relegation team in the Bundesliga but maintains a 69% save percentage. Livakovic is a better goalkeeper. What are you smoking?
Kotarski I mean* Kotarski actually plays in CL
The last World Cup it goes to show how solid we were defeating strong teams like Brazil, Japan and Morocco.
Japan has been on fire recently and have only lost one competitive game in the last two years.
Brazil is still a good team but the backend is very exposable. They dropped points to two teams like Bolivia and Paraguay which is weak.
Morocco is another team is one of the best African teams.
I’m not sure why we struggled against Albania and Italy last Euros. Two teams that didn’t qualify for the World Cup. Throughout our Euros, we’ve only won 9 games. Drew lots of games we shouldn’t have like a couple of years ago. Never won a knockout stage either. Meanwhile have won 5 at the World Cup. So weird.
Czech-Made it this year since 2006
Italy-Missed a third World Cup in a row
Albania-Never made a World Cup
We just seem to click better at against non European teams. Our World Cup run in 2018 was all European teams. But now Russia can’t compete, Denmark and Iceland are declining. We do have a solid record against African teams at the World Cup. It seems to be a mixture of that and Asian teams.
We can beat or tie England. I just don’t want to lose that game. Ghana isn’t a walkover but that should be a winnable game. I don’t know how Panama is ranked 33. These rankings make no sense.
Biggest suprise will be Norway, Japan, Ivory Coast. I think the France group is the group of death. We have an easy group compared to the rest. I still can’t fathom we aren’t getting teams like Poland, Ukraine, Hungary but Haiti make it lol.
Sweden making it is an absolute joke. Zero wins in qualifying but make it through somehow. They’ll get third and be eliminated.
Tickets in Canada are absolutely unaffordable. Bosnia vs Canada are going for $2000 plus for a nose bleed. Croatia vs Panama is still $800 a ticket. Canada and Panama are nothing special. Lots of Balkan noise will be made in both those games. Let’s hope Canada gets humbled again.
Who in their right mind would pay $2000 CAD for the Bosna Canada match? I see those prices coming down hard.
Nobody with half a brain will. The problem is our government doesn’t contain this problem and allows scalpers to have free range and platforms like Ticketmaster or any other get away with robbery. A Bosnia vs Canada game should go for $80-$120 for the cheapest seat. Now it’s 20 times that.
“The problem is our government doesn’t contain this problem and allows scalpers to have free range and platforms like Ticketmaster or any other get away with robbery.”

Who in their right mind would pay a penny more than FACE VALUE for for the Bosna Canada match?
https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1007203/ontario-protecting-fans-by-capping-ticket-resale-prices
I paid 900 for my cro Panama ticket. Im 44. I’ve never been, I may not go again. I don’t care. That’s who will pay. But yeah 2k to watch Bosnia and Canada , insane
Batina, moose is loose and the real right winger pasalic(hint it’s not Mario, zlatko my man)
This can cause some some stuff
I’d rather see Perišić come off the bench on that left wing side to help a spark and maybe solidify a lid
Guardian Power Rankings actually has us pretty high (above England) which is generous. Especially considering Holiga’s name is attached:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2026/apr/01/guardian-power-rankings-france-senegal-japan-top-10-world-cup-2026
Ghana and Panama are both way down the bottom. Surprising to see Senegal so high to me.
Morocco 8th? LOL
Sorry. I was looking at the FIFA rankings.
Well, either way i thought it was a bit funny heheh.
But yeah Senegal 6?
Okay..
Jaga just posted
Pic of him and his GF after the match
With the caption

And his GF of course reposted i
Sweet. Maybe it’s true love.
The only major detail I saw stuck out was Modric have a lack of awareness. That one giveaway in our own end? What on earth was that? I understand he is our captain and 40 but he looks so lost at times. Vuskovic by far at the best game. Livakovic saved us numerous times. Faith has been restored in him for me.
We definitely looked more structured than the Colombia game. That game looks as if we were just running around. More crisp tackles, passes and runs. We do lack coverage in our own 12 yard box and it cost us that first goal. Who cares about the penalty? We know teams like Brazil get an advantage even in an exhibition. We need to cover more grounds in our own end. Majer scoring was a suprise and he isn’t even starting nor proving himself with Wolfsburg.
We will be fine for June. No need to hit the panic button on a 3-1 loss to a solid team. I still can’t believe Colombia finished above them. Why was Perisic playing LB? I don’t grasp that foolish tactic by Dalić? We had five at the back and still got exposed. Sutalo has no place in our starting 11.
Italy losing to Bosnia. Anyone who does know football saw this coming. Italy football has been diminishing for years. That Euro victory was almost just perfect timing and a bit of luck. They did defeat all the tough teams but since then they’ve been terrible. Bosnia will beat Canada.
Japan having a black goalkeeper is shocking? It’s just Balkan and Eastern European teams with pure players. Such a shame. That’s why Italian football is finished. All of the players for Serie A are foreigners.
Well, even the HNL puts a minimum requirement on how many non-EU players you can field and there are junior player requirements as well.
Italy will have to do the same.
Their entire primavera squads are Africans and (more recently) Croats, ha ha.
Im glad they have implemented this rule. I think the junior rule is starting next year?
I forgot what the detail were for the Junior rule. Something about a minimum played minutes amount.
I think it starts next season.
The Japanese goal keeper is half Japanese Zion Suzuki .
Did you forget about Eduardo, Sammir and now Belinho. Not that “pure” if you ask me. Wasn’t the HNS begging Olmo to play for the NT?
Nobody begged Olmo nor is anyone currently begging Belinho either.
Olmo didn’t live in Croatia long enough and Belinho is partially raised and lives in Croatia so he has a right to citizenship and can play (if he’s good enough). If he wants to play for Brazil, he can do that too.
Sammir was a transfer scam started by Mamić by pressuring his family friend Kovač to call him up (so he could sell him for more money).
This won’t ever happen again.
Eduardo was an import who lived in Croatia long enough and got married to a local.
Not ideal to import teenage players like France does, but I guess he was too good to ignore (until the ankle injury rendered him useless).
So a Japanese surname is what makes you? Not sure if you have colour blindness but he’s still not Japanese looking. I don’t care for any players that aren’t Croatian playing for us. Are you for importing partially African or any outsiders players? I didn’t even want that arrogant Zlatan playing for us ever. Eduardo and Sammir are one off players. No players from Brazil would now come since we’ve built our youth back up. Same goes to Olmo, Pulisic, etc. As far as I’m concerned we have a perfectly fine lineup of all Croatian players with the exception of being born in Germany, Austria, Switzerland because of the war of other economic reasons. Why do you think Italy struggled now? They’ve been overtaken in Serie A by anyone not Italian. Serie A was so dominant from the 90s to mid 2000s. Now it’s garbage and produce no talent for Italy to build on.
Viva Nippon
I have watched Wolfsburg a number of times this year. When Majer breaks into open space, they have no one that can get a pass through to him. I don’t recall seeing him make a pass then getting the ball back as he broke into open space. Wolfsburg can barely string two passes together.
The difference here was that Fruk hit him with a pass.
Bora Brasillllllllll!!! A única seleção do mundo a ser 5 vezes campeã da copa do mundo.
7-1…that’s all I have to say. Laku noć
I still love modric but at times he exhibits a bit of old tom brady tendencies where brady knew he could still make the passes but at his age he had to be careful with his body so he would often release the ball early in the pocket before any contact. In these types of games Modric is not sacrificing his body and i think we saw that on that sloppy pass he made back to the middle that was nearly a goal in that he got rid of it quickly to avoid the punishment of a Brazilian running full speed at him and his initial touch a little heavy which left him vulnerable . Hopefully in the actual wc, its now or never and he’ll be more willing to risk physical punishment to make the right play
The one of many things I learned last night, is to score a goal you have to at least strike the ball within the goal frame, or at least 25 ft from in, to get an intervention from God or our Angels. It is not a game of giving away free balls to the crowd,
I thought Brozovic was out there last night.
Orsic is a sharpshooter and every attempt is a sober shot at the goal. Don’t care if he has much playing time or is in a secondary league, he deserves a spot as the most impactive clutch player in 2022.
Just play Oakland A’s Moneyball roster development. Use the NT statistics. That is all that counts.
I think Majer solidify a spot on the team last night. Can Majer play winger?
Last euros Gvardiol played against Albania CB we still conceded 2 goals. Perisic played LB was terrible that game. Brozo and Perisic stating was like playing with 9 men, yet everyone on this board blamed Šutalo or pong or whoever.
Until we fix our lack of speed in midfield we will struggle whoever starts on defence I have no doubt about that.
Gvardiol played LB in the first and last game of those Euros and he was rated as one of the worst players on the pitch in both games.
Perišić was out of form that tournament (after tearing his ACL in late 2023) and was playing for Hajduk at the time just so he could get into game shape… but he was still a shell of his former self. An injury like that takes a much younger man a full year to get back to where they were, and he was already playing on it in six months.
Broz was playing in Saudi and was pretty much retired.
I don’t think the situation is the same, and I don’t think Gvardiol playing CB versus LB is the issue.
Perišić is having a great season, and Gvardiol is the one coming back from injury. It might actually be better that he stay back and play the same role as he did for us in 2022 when he anchored our defence.
Yes I agree with Perišić having a great year as a LM and I’m ok with starting as LM.
There’s only so much you can get away with on field in your starting 11.
Modric floating doing his thing -ok
Perisic playing left mid with less juice -ok.
That’s all we can afford to get away with.
Can’t add to that kramaric and Budimir and also Perišić playing defence. We won’t be good enough to absorbed.
No more than two old guys on field and perisic playing his position.
@ guest
Perisic scored an own goal and over committed on Brazil goal that’s 2 goals in 2 games for such an experienced player. Asking a 36 year old to play such a grueling position is too much. He can start on the wing in the midfield but as a wing back that’s asking way too much.
Inter Milan Perišić and Tottenham perisic is not the version we are getting today.
Also last euros perisc playing-well? the guy could barely run, people can attack the CB from last euros all they want but between Brozo and perisic we are playing with 11 men. The BIGGEST gaffe from last euros wasn’t Brozo it was perisic he wasn’t ready. First goal against Albania perisic was 10 feet from player who crossed ball, he was scared of gettting beat so he gave himself so much cushion. Oh by the way he Perišić played LB that game and Gvardiol was CB didn’t solve our problems.
We talk a lot about our back line but we are slow in middle and wings we want our backline to do everything.
I didn’t watch
But I agree with maminjo below
Things were not in our favour from ref standpoint
And we are trying things
We are missing probably our best player right now
We got to learn Prince luka is the heir apparent
King luka made a couple of blunders which can Happen but unlikely against lesser competitors
This is Brazil
Sounded like they came to play overall coached by one of the best coaches ever.
Yes, too bad we don’t have an orsic type that can hit on the counter
We probably do but not right now , baturina looks to be legit and we do need to see the mls boys
They have enough skill and speed so yeah why not
Luka can hit wingers if he has them as has been stated
Livakovic if he can go all world again and the back line starts to really form can make magic happen again
We are there, we qualified yet again. We have some pieces. We don’t have them all but we never know what will happen
All in all, sounds like two pretty good and telling friendlies against above average to excellent competition
Love these time effort invested therapeutic analytical diatribes after a loss by the followers. Cheers.
We might not all agree, but it is clear we all care.
Livakovic was our best player- it was a 4-1 game for Brazil and he gave us a chance- he made some excellent saves with random support – well done Dom – we’ll need you to be our best player to stand any chance
Everyone’s take on players like Gvardiol playing as CB makes total sense in the fact he would be our best CB and also for
Back three Stanišić and gvardiol next to vuskovic again makes total sense. That would be the best version of a back three 💯
However I have seen nothing from past and present that we have anyone who could play up to a high standard on the full backs or wing backs other than Stanišić or Gvardiol. literally other than Marco pasalic they are our width players.
Perisic at his age can’t play as a wingback
1- he doesn’t have the juice to go up and down all game. 2 he’s looks off when playing defensively, we have literally no sub for perisic so what would you start every game Perišić and at the 70 min move gvardiol to the LB?
Marco pasalic I like in midfield but not as a wingback he’s not big enough or strong enough to consistently ask him to take on defenders in vulnerable situations.
Smolcic didn’t play long enough to say he had a bad game yesterday but one thing is very evident he is slow like surprised he’s doing well in Italy slow.
You gonna ask Jakić to play wing back, I don’t see it.
I’m not convinced dalic is going with three at back I feel there’s to many question marks this close to a WC for a 3 at the back. I was wrong this week with dalic going back 4 against Brazil so we’ll see but if the idea is yes we are 100 doing a u-turn with formation this week didn’t make me like it’s a slam dunk we can do it at highest level when it matters.
Perisic sent in several good crosses against Colombia from the left.
Baturina also sends them in for Como when he runs down the left wing as well (as he switches with his teammates there from time to time).
Gvardiol can push forward at times as well (even if he plays LCB) while Sucic or Kova drops back as cover.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
We played against a top-3 contender who were hell bent on revenge and had a Latin referee on their side.
Brazil defended especially well on the flanks, that most teams cannot replicate.
We defended pretty well in the first half (despite some mistakes)…but our issue is that we were too slow to counter to take advantage of Brazil pushing for goal.
The reverse situation was also a problem, when we pushed for goal (on that corner kick) and couldn’t rush back quick enough to defend their counter.
It’s just a matter of whether Dalic has the balls to make some of these changes so close to the World Cup.
He’s made the right call integrating Vuskovic and Baturina into the starting eleven. It’s helped us immensely.
He’s testing out the 3-5-2 and now, and it’s just a matter of whether or not he will truly bench guys like Duje, Mario Pasalic, Kramaric and maybe even Budimir.
Do we actually go ahead and start guys like Marco Pasalic, Musa, and Kovacic in place of these guys.
Side Note:
I wish Franjo Ivanovic and Adriano Jagusic did not change clubs this season.
I think their speed and skill would have been great on the counter attack, and they would have been great for us as options…but this is something for the future.
I don’t see why Dalic couldn’t have just tried out Ivanovic and Jagusic in these friendlies we need to see what they can do. At this point in time Ivanovic has more to offer than Budimir. A good coach makes use of players who have the right skillset it shouldn’t always be about who plays the most for certain clubs that favours aging players including older mediocre journeyman type players who had a longer career and seriously disadvantages talented youngsters. Dalic’s insistence on playing time with big club’s disadvantages young players who are just starting out and is not a true indictor of who is best for the national team, and it is not what Croatia needs right now.
I think Dalic’s tactics against Columbia worked and should have done the same with Brazil. Matanovic should have started in the Brazil match and then later subbed for Musa. Dalic should have tried something like this months ago to figure out the perfect line up.
We need magic from orsic playing the left flank and juranovic as backup for LB or RB. He is back as a sub these few days for his club. I will want gvardiol to play CB in big games esp in world cup.
We shouldnt just accommodate vuskovic playing back 3. He should adapt play 4 defenders which work well for us. Anyway, whichever works well for us, even if dropping key players.
How abt hrgovic or bradaric as backup LB?
Stojkovic as winger?
Yeah when it’s not a penalty the coach and players should just walk of the field and who cares lose the game
One of the big talking points from Tuesday’s shootout was Gianluigi Donnarumma’s behaviour towards Bosnian goalkeeper Nikola Vasil.
Shortly after Esposito missed his penalty, a heated argument broke out between Donnarumma and Vasilj, and many wondered what the animated conversation was about at such a pivotal moment.
It turns out Donnarumma sneaked into the goalmouth and grabbed Vasilj’s cheat sheet as his fellow goalkeeper celebrated the missed spot kick. He then appeared to damage the piece of paper, according to BILD.
“Afterwards, the cheat sheet, which listed all the Italian shooters and their preferred corners, was clearly damaged,” the report claimed. “Apparently, Donnarumma had intended to tear it up.”
Still annoys me that this terrible Italy team knocked us out of the Euros…
That was entirely on Dalic.
He was too stubborn to listen to the media and the fans, and stuck with Brozovic out there (despite him being one of the worst midfielders in the tournament).
Then proceeds to bench Modric and Kovacic (handing over possession to Italy).
Never mind that he pretty much played a 4-6-0 formation with no wingers or striker (with Krama being the lone striker up top).
That game was a textbook firing.
But Dalic built up enough pedigree to avoid it.
It wasn’t just that. People forget about how the ref for that game tilted things to favor Italy. In the first half it was 0-0. Italy’s going through. The ref adds only 1 minute of extra playing time before the half. Literally the lowest amount you can add.
In the second half Luka wills a goal into existence for Croatia. Incredible. All of a sudden the ref adds 11 extra minutes of play at the end of regular play time. Italy scores with a minute left to play and goes through. Criminal.
Yes that was a big issue as well.
A gay referee with an Italian boyfriend reffing against us in a deciding game against Italy. 😓
Still. The game shouldn’t have been close, and Switzerland took out Italy very easily in the knockout round.
I was at that game and thinking about it still gives me PTSD.
Sitting on the lead, some horrible subs by Dalic and some of the most atrocious reffing I’ve seen in my life.
I think I need a drink.
100% agree, also letting Perisic treat the Euros as an injury rehabilitation stint was disgraceful too.

Sege waving his arms at Jaga for not passing to him the whole game lol
Stop crying Sege, this is Jaga’s World and u just live in it (but seriously I don’t think Jaga passed to him once lol)
17:10 – look at how FAST Hrgovic and Krivak are running back on the counter-attack – this is what we need on the A-team – compare that to geriatric Perisic trying to run back with him arching his back in this weird way on the first Brazil goal, it’s sad to see – remember Croatia players (e.g. Euro 96/WC 98) retired once they hit 30 – we can’t have geriatrics running around – it’s sad – Modric at 40 y/o is a one-off and his game isn’t predicated on running/speed anymore
Croatia A team needs speed on FB position ? Great – call up Hrgovic and Barisic – they are both fast and Barisic in particularly is a powerful runner (look at 64:15 how fast he is to run down into the box to join the counter-attack)
Krivac defensive work-rate is off the charts (look at 56:25 as e.g. – he flies over to make sure ball doesn’t go out of play, but than passes it to Jaga who gets body-checked (poor Jaga, dirty Turks!) – Krivac did similar # of times during the match – this is the kind of ENERGY we need on the A-team – unless Dalic plans to slip a bunch of Viagra into our geriatrics water before every match
@6:58 u see the Turkish coach take off his jacket and slip – no clue what he thought taking off the jacket was going to do – but he didn’t even slip and land on his head so no clue how he broke his jaw (?) – complete freak accident
Look 72:28 – Mlacic gets pushed/slapped in the face (he actually gets pushed by THREE players at the same time – one on chest, one on face, one on arm) and just LAUGHS at the Turkish players – 99/100 if u get hit in the face u flop – and Mlacic just laughs at the three of them as it’s so ridiculous (the guy who slapped him eventually got a red card too) – never seen anything like that before – it’s AMAZING – Mlacic is a f ANIMAL – look at 16:23 of the video when the guy who got the red card gets it and Mlacic is just laughing at him with some hand gestures (bye-bye) mocking him to get off – Anonymous LOVES IT !!!
Look at what led up it to – Prpic starts sweetly caressing Kılıcsoy face as he walks by – Kılıcsoy than grabs his face/jersey – Prpic caresses Kılıcsoy face again real close and maybe licks his face like Brad Marchand (?) and Kılıcsoy freaks out and slaps him in the face – again – Prpic is a AMAZING doing a Brad Marchand face caress/face licking
Top shit-housery marks for Prpic and Mlacic – we need this kind of mentality on the A-team – like a couple of young Materazzis
Prpic waving goodbye to the red carded Turk while still sitting on the ground was pretty funny
Barca-watch
Barca’s option to buy Marcus Rashford for 30m expired March 31
They didn’t exercise as need to keep powder dry for Luka Vuskovic 😉
Anonymous will point out – they called all of this back in August/September watching Luka Vuskovic PAINFULLY closely for his matches at HSV (when @Mart was telling us he isn’t even ready for the U21s lol)
The question was never “how is he today?”
The question was always “how can/will he develop b/w now and the WC with another 3000 Bundesliga minutes this year”
Anonymous predicted correctly – that Luka Vuskovic is now the BEST Croatian CB at the ripe age of 19 y/o – because Anonymous is a GENIUS and their EYE TESTS ARE THE BEST THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN
Admittedly I could not watch the game.
Maybe this would have played out differently if we had an inform Kovačić??
From the comment threads people are starting to see it, I think, that Kramarić can be a liability at times. He is a great player and suited for specific opponents I think.
Would it have been different or better if we had a 4-4-2?? I wonder?? A lone striker seems to be an issue, and I have felt for a while that Budimir alone does not work.
Brazil had 4 or 5 good chances in the first half, but two of them were just Modric mistakes (which would rarely happen in the future).
So, it was similar to World Cup 2022 game with them where Brazil had some dangerous moments, but the longer they go without a goal, the harder it will become.
They were very lucky that Croatia struggles to defend the counter attack (especially with 4-5 guys in their starting eleven that cannot run back quickly enough).
Unfortunately, Brazil scored at the end of the first half, which relieved that pressure off them.
The ESPN guy kept talking about how Brazil needs to start playing a counter attacking game full time (as it suits them better). But I’m not sure about that. After Brazil was up 1-0, they played the counter attack…but their chances were far and fewer, and couldn’t really score a second until AFTER we had scored (and they were gifted a very soft PK). Mind you, this was well after we completely cleared our bench.
I think our big issue is the speed of guys like Krama, Budimir, Vuskovic, Duje and (maybe) Perisic and Modric in defending the counter.
Croatia were defending well in the first half, but that quick counter after our corner was exactly like the Argentina semifinal game in 2022.
I think we can continue to play a back-three, but we badly needed Gvardiol in that backline.
I would not like it if we decided to play him out wide, then choose to play a guy like Erlic, Pongracic, or Duje in that back three slot.
I thought Duje and Sutalo played very well, but Duje still got carded very early in the game as he struggled with the Brazilian speed.
Vuskovic is also maybe a step slow, but he’s just so skilled and comfortable with the ball back there that we need to start him.
Modric, Vuskovic and Perisic just need to be surrounded with speedsters.
Not saying that we need to bench Krama and Budimir, but we need to be aware of who we are playing against and adjust accordingly (rather than having a copy-and-paste starting lineup for every single game).
Pongračić, Šutalo and DCC all are very poor defenders, they can’t read the game quick enough, they aren’t particularly quick enough and any sort of cutback, switch of play or player running at them means it’s over. Pongracic is the worst of the bunch I’m surprised we’re saying anything good about him, the goal vs Colombia was his fault, he didn’t close down his man and had Vuskovic doing all the work the rest of the game. The first Brazil goal was scored by sutalo’s man when tracking back but he lazily didn’t stick to him+Čaleta froze in front of goal rather than read the cutback. 2nd goal obvisouly wasn’t a penalty and a clear dive but sutalo should be defending better there anyway. 3rd goal was Smolčić and Pongračić+Šutalo also being positioned awfully with no pace to recover but even before that they couldn’t sweep up the danger when the ball was loose before the counterattack had room to breath, the one thing Martinelli is really good at is late game counter attacks with room to run in behind and we gave them that nearly instantly with Vušković gone for less than 10 minutes. 2 goals in less than 10 minutes without Vuskovic is just so telling of that backline, and yet we are barking at Perisic defending who actually timed tackles and engagements well. Vušković had triple the defensive actions than all other cb’s these past 2 games each, they cannot tie Luka’s laces much less start beside him.
We’re lucky Vuskovic is used to playing with poor defenders but at least in 3 back he can get involved defensively more rather than stuck on one side and hope his other sided cb can cover his side. It’s obvious we need Gvardiol and Vuskovic as our 2 CB’s no other will do. Gvardiol is better as a cb anyway and we simply do not have the defensive depth to have anyone else, it’s the reason we lost the euros and nations league. Did you know every goal we conceded in the euros was through sutalo’s legs? It’s true, pongracic also didn’t exist that tournament. Perišić was playing well and still attacking and getting crosses, same as if he was LW but getting more involved defensively which isn’t bad since he does it anyway, plus Gvardiol Vuskovic and stanisic need a bit of leadership and experience in the backline, all are super young. Perisic has been directing the backline these past 2 games and you can tell with the amount of hand motions he had to do when talking to Pongracic vs Colombia and sutalo vs Brazil today, he wasn’t pleased with their lack of a performance. The problem is the past 2 matches he’s been paired with the worst cb’s possible (besides Vuskovic), and has to do all the defensive work for his wide cb which is a bad recipe vs strong attackers like Brazil and Colombia. Luckily Vušković could hold it down+with some brilliant saves from Livaković, I’m pissed that stanisic never played in that RCB back 3 once in both of these games but I think it’s just Dalic testing what we can get away with instead of what he knows what works best. Stanisic isn’t a pure attacking wingback like Perisic, he’s a fullback/cb hybrid.
To everyone saying modric had a bad game, sure he made a couple bad mistakes but his passing options are severely limited when Marco pasalic is not on the pitch (that’s right guys in both games modric didn’t play 1 minute with a proper winger like Marco Pašalić, the guy who made Gareth Bale, Vini Jr, Mbappe and CR7 run in behind has to play through balls to Kramarić just for him to halt any momentum and play a 2 yard pass backwards so we can’t even leave our half and attack.)
It’s obvious Baturina is already better than Kramaric in nearly every possible statistic of this sport, better conversion rate, pace, press resistance, playmaking, vision, driving the ball forward, even defending he was trying but we had a couple too many weak links near him. Budimir plays worse with kramarić too because krama keeps trying to take all his chances. We criticize budimir for not scoring or contributing on the ball but everytime he did get involved he created lots of space in the box and holds up CB’s giving our midfielders space to shoot but of course when krama was on the pitch it was just him taking chances since he’s lives in the box and he cannot score unless it’s on the ground and he has a metre of space, which is saying something since he’s so slow to the ball anyway. Even when they create something and play it into the box it always goes to Kramaric because he forces himself into the spot. Budimir is a good poacher but he knows we gain nothing with him standing beside kramaric, he needs to hold certain spaces. I’d rather Luka Sučić take a shot outside the box at least, all I could think of with that space right in front of the box all game especially when Moro took that shot wide is Luka Sučić would bury this. The worse sin is in build up, we essentially play with a man down, Kramaric cannot contribute in midfield in progression and press resistance, he cannot defend effectively or high press and isn’t strong or fast enough to be a striker, most obsolete player we got right now. I’d rather Musa, budimir or even Mantanović on the pitch rather. He’ll only be effective vs unorganized defences that spill alot of chances like Canada 4 years ago, and those kinds of defences are most vulnerable later in the match so no point starting him, plus krama can’t play more than 60 minutes anyway and I’d rather have him in a penalty shootout.
You’re also judging Perisic defensively with the WORST DEFENDERS WE HAVE. Look at O’Riley at Man City, when Gvardiol was there people were talking about how elite the backline looked all around and with Gvardiol out his defending is completely exposed and he’s been criticized for loosing them games, yet his offensive contribution makes such a cohesive balance when playing with 2 strong CB’s, the same will be with Gvardiol and Vusković + Perišić. Plus a good midfield 3 supporting them and Baturina at left attacking mid so he doesn’t have to break our midfield defensive presence and focus more on his creating and attacking will fix our poor quality offence.
Truth is Perišić LB (overlapping wingback which he has played effectively for Croatia, Inter and Spurs like the Spain game nations league or extra time vs Brazil 2022), Gvardiol LCB, Vušković RCB, Stanišić RB is our road to the final, the cb’s are just so strong defensively and Marco pasalic has the ability to track back and support the rb, stanisic evens out the wingback, in fact the tactic checks out as we get overloads in attack, Gvardiol can still contribute in build up and attack while being the cb actually defending instead of sutalo and gvardiol wingback racing back, I’d rather Perisic is the one getting back and defending wide areas as our cb’s just have that ability to intercept and block danger before it gets out of hand, they just have that security, at least the best we got but only option is gvardiol Vuskovic will probably be the best cb pairing in the tournament.
Petar Sucic gels well with modric, they cover each others weakness and give good shielding to our elite cb’s (Gvardiol and Vuskovic), modric still the best decision maker of all time, both of them as a double pivot will work but they need a 3rd midfielder to support them like Modric has in Milan and Madrid, same like Pirlo had at Milan and Italy. The 2 obvious choices are Luka Sučić or Kovačić, I’m leaning towards Luka because of the long ranged threat while still being super technical and good in deeper areas and in the box while Kovacic only in deeper areas. Of course Kovacic good rotation vs high pressing teams like Brazil today or even England possibly. I feel Baturina can give us a similar dribbling ability to drive the ball forward through and out of pressure like Kovacic so he can drop kova and still get that quality when needed while Perisic overlaps so Kovacic wouldn’t be missed too much. The problem was when he paired Mario Pasalic with Modric vs Faroe Islands and Mario just doesn’t have the technique to trap the ball in right areas, the goal vs Faroe islands for example came from a turnover that Kovacic would have never made, but Luka Sucic is also very good in congested areas on the pitch.
Musa better vs higher lines because of pace to exploit space in behind, budimir better when box presence is needed and more pure effective target man when that’s needed plus experience vs high level football in La Liga, mantanović better when you need a more on the ball target man who links up and doesn’t lose possession and shields the ball incredibly, he prevented so many turnovers and kept attacking momentum vs Colombia.
Marco Pašalić is a must start and I’d even say get Oršić or someone as his sub and move Baturina or Perisic RW when Marco is subbed out just to keep at least one proper direct explosive wing player.
I see Baturina and Luka Sučić having a similar dynamic to Baturina and Nico Paz at Como, Luka and Nico have such a similar profile and we desperately need a proper attacking midfielder who can actually resist press, playmake and score from long distances+has really good technique and a bit of flair and physicality. Just to fuel our attacks better in half spaces, I expect Marco pasalic and budmir connect well with the two being on the ball attacking mids and Marco a hybrid forward and attacking mid and budimir a proper striker giving good attacking balance and anchor play, plus a wingback with Perisic for crosses and width.
4231/433/342/352
GK Livaković
LB/LWB Perišić
LCB Gvardiol
RCB Vušković
RB Stanišić
LDM/CM Petar Sučić
RDM/CM Modrić
CAM/CM Luka Sučić (maybe Kova)
LW/LAM Baturina
RW/RAM Marco Pašalić
ST Budimir (maybe Musa vs high lines)
If Marco drops in more, now it’s a 343, Luka Sucic also drops into cm it’s a 352 with Baturina 2nd striker almost, Marco plays RW normal and stanisić holds behind him and Luka Sucic drops in now it’s a 433, even if Perisic is forward and Marco is back Gvardiol is covering lb and stanisic covering RCB Vuskovic lcb isn’t the worst position every so often (not exclusively just when convenient.) Although Marco more of an explosive attacking mid. I see stanisic rb and Marco RW like Olise at Bayern, both explosive playmakers with a good left foot and can cut and curl it well for a shot or cross, stanisic isn’t a winger or wingback like he was used today, he supports a winger while balancing his defensive flank for coverage, sometimes he overlaps, underlaps, holds in midfield, plays 1 2s or hits the box, whatever he has to do to get his RW an advantage, plus he sometimes just stays back and marks a LW from counters and sweeps them up before they start.
Moro is a good sub for modric when we’re defending a game and wanna keep control.
Majer is a good sub for modric when we need his creativity and playmaking still+attacking threat.
Jakić is a good sub for a fullback or Petar Sučić
Of course Kovačić a sub for either Sučić’s if we can get away with modric kovacic double pivot that’s great too, although it may not be enough midfield coverage vs most opponents but I’d expect Dalic should test Jakic and Kovacic in midfield together with Majer probably the 3rd or Moro when defending (as subs of course).
Mario pasalic and Vlasic more so late game super subs for goals and just tossing players in the box for a chaotic late goal.
Of course if pulling Luka Sucic or Baturina could just push Perisic up to LW and keep one in CM/CAM and toss in jakić rb swap stanisic lb in a back 4 for a more defensive tactic.
I can only see Šutalo as a late game sub to rest Gvardiol for like 5-10 mins and same with Erlić for Vušković.
Otherwise that’s the team and anyone else is just moral support and vs weak teams to rest the A team, maybe some of those u21 guys can get a chance like Jagušić or that new Segečić, maybe even Mlačić depending on how the season ends which would be cool and first 2 good rotations for Luka Sucic and Marco pasalic with similar profiles. But they are probably not quite ready, I’m sure Dalic and Olić will figure that one out hopefully.
But if Gvardiol and Vušković are not our MUST PLAY CB’s then we’re gonna lose, simple as that. Midfield should be built around modric and attack built around Baturina, both sucic’s should help both and Marco pasalic and budimir or Musa striker, stanisic supports the 2 cbs and RW and Perisic adds width and crossing something Gvardiol and Baturina get tremendous value from.
Hopefully Dalić knows what to do now.
We had Brazil pretty even till Vuskovic left the pitch and I’m sure these little fixes in lineup would evolve our team into real contenders again.
Very, very long rant….but a good one, ha ha.
I agree. A “back three” of Gvardiol, Vuskovic, and Stanisic is just so good and I really hope this is the plan.
Perisic and Marco Pasalic at LWB and RWB would be very good as well. They showed as much in these past two games.
Modric and Petar Sucic starting are a no-brainer…but I doubt Luka Sucic will get any starts over Kovacic (though Dalic does seem to like him off the bench). If Kova is still unavailable, I still think he would throw in Krama instead.
Baturina needs to be a permanent starter, and I think Dalic sees that.
However, Mario Pasalic needs to strictly come off the bench, along with guys like Majer, Vlasic, etc. We need to stop starting him on the wing ever again.
I think Dalic’s commitment to Kramaric as a ‘senator’ is going to be difficult.
Another is his commitment to playing Gvardiol wide.
I think Dalic has accepted Vuskovic and Baturina as starters (thank God), but I am still unsure if he’s really committed to starting a guy like Marco Pasalic over the several veteran options (Krama, Mario P, etc.).
He struggles with loyalty to these guys and it might hurt us (again) like it did at Euro2024.
“Guest” must be Anonymous’ burner which must be Maminjo’s burner
Everyone following yet ? 😉
We’re all just Ante Kvartuc writing on his website with different accounts.
Dead Internet Theory.
The senior players cannot all play in starting 11 thats that
Modric cannot play 90 mins everygame this summer.
When kova comes back who he replacing in the 11.
When gvardiol comes back 3 4 2 1 or 4 2 3 1
Livakovic Pasalic Stanisic Gvardiol Vuskovic Perisic Modric Sucic Kovacic Baturina Musa 5 3 1 1 formation what you guys think
This lineup would have worked better for us yesterday
I think these friendlies were the true essence of friendlies and maybe I get excited and ahead of mself. I think June friendlies will be true tune up. However with that being said only things I feel truly strong about after two matches.
1- Krama never start again I’ve felt this way for a long time but he needs to go he slows our game down way too much. Someone has to be sat down out of the seniors and it has to be krama
2- Budimir out also, felt this way for a while slow doesn’t work.
3- we won’t play 3-5-2 in WC doesn’t work even though keep dreaming of it. 4-5-1 is our way plug it up slug it up bore other team to sleep.
4- Smolcic way to slow guy isn’t a real option
5- Stanišić and Gvardiol are the only two players capable playing RB and LB I want no one else playing, we have no one who can.
6- Perišić can’t play defence sorry weather we play with back 4 or 3
7- I like Pongracic to me he’s better than Erlic and D-CC. Sutalo , Vušković and Pongracic should be our top 3 CB.
8- I think D-CC was not good tonight I would not start him anymore.
9- Moro is good.
10- Livaković was good in these two games.
Wow Moro played well eh. That’s good to hear.
Penalty should have been awarded as a foul, obstruction, by Enderick against Šutalo. The ball was beyond playing distance and Enderick stuck out his leg in front of Šutalo to initiate contact. Very poor decision by referee.
We looked better in the second half especially when Modric, Kramaric and Budimir were subbed.
Modric was one of our worst players and almost cost us a couple of goals in the first half if not for Livakovic. The heat and humidity are and will a big factor at this WC and you need younger legs on the field.
Livakovic made some great saves especially in the first half, but his distribution with his feet was not the best.
The penalty was soft but that is what happens when you play against big boys
I’m reading a fair amount of commwnts here that Brazil was looking for revenge for being knocked out if a WC QF in a friendly match 4 years later. Tko nji jebe!!! They can beat us in 100 friendly games and it won’t make up for that loss 😂
Croatia played perfectly fine and one can walk away from this game feeling happy they largely stood toe to toe with Brazil, particularly in the first half with the starters
I’m generally impressed with how technically sound our players are. The one technical weak spot (outside of perisic and budimir) is livakovic. We got no choice but to live with it but watching his ball skills you can better understand why he can’t find a club
I thought the second half was more impressive, since Brazil was still playing starting caliber players while Croatia cleared the bench and had fringe callups like Smolcic, Moro, Majer and Fruk out there creating chances.
pancho villa the referee didnt do anything with the constant diving and brazilian fouls.
Did anyone have on their bingo card that Luka Vuskovic would be the best Croatia CB during these two games?
On the Brazil first goal – watch it again – Vuskovic gets taken down in the box – watch where he and Sutalo are at that point as counter attack starts – Sutalo starts running back (Luka needs time to get back up) – Sutalo had at least 10 maybe 15 yards head start on Vuskovic running back – watch the reverse angle – Luka basically did a full field sprint back and caught up to Sutalo – while Sutalo was running back but he’s not fast enough and/or didn’t put in full effort and pulled up before he got to Danilo who was free for the Vini pass in
Liva – outstanding
Anonymous did mention Croatia will struggle with having all the slow-pokes on the field together i.e. Budimir, Krama, Perisic, Modric – at their clubs they are surrounded by fast players and they are all the slowest – it works at the club bc you can afford to have one slow player if everyone around you is fast and running – but when you play them all together for Croatia – it’s like watching paint dry – it doesn’t work – there is only so much Baturina and Pero can do – Dalic has done well swallowing his pride and integrating Vuskovic – now he has to do it again and sit at least 1 if not 2 of the slow-pokes (they can’t all play together at the same time – it’s retarded)
P.S. still on the first Brazil goal – look how fast Baturina runs back – full effort – the boy has some speed on him now – completely different/better player (thanks to Cesc) than at DZ – what a difference – wow
Yes
Croatia definitely looked slow much of the game- counters are our Achilles heel. But they stayed toe to toe with a top 10 team. I definitely think they showed that they can get to the knockout stage. After that, it will be a combination of luck of the draw, a little luck, and some Croatian grit. Brazil waited four years for this game. So no surprise there. Vuskovic looks like he belongs.
It also didn’t help us that the referee’s name is Guido Gonzales Jr. 😓
Next time we play Brazil, we need an unbiased referee from a neutral country.
…and belinho
The referee was Armando Villareal, not Gonzalez.
He looks nothing like Guido, the 2024 MLS Referee of the Year.
whatever.
They’re all Mexican to me.
If Dalic thinks this is 2022 all over again , he is dreaming. we better have something other than a counter game – all the seniors on the team looked like shit- Perisic , Modric and Kramaric were complete garbage –
Although they looked slow, the older players give a calmness to the team. I am not so quick to blame them. The Brazilians will make many a team look overmatched. Hopefully, Coach Dalic will make some adjustments to keep us highly competitive as usual.
I guess the good news is no major injuries. My heart sank a moment early on when Vuskovic went down let me tell you.
Good game.
It really showed us what we have to work on, and it shows that (with the right personnel) we can play three-at-the-back against good teams.
Brazil pressed us hard and couldn’t lose this revenge game (especially after losing so easily to France last week).
They wanted this game badly, and it seemed like the ref wanted this game badly for them too.😂
We were missing a couple of key starters and we played a little too far forward with our slow CBs. I think Gvardiol and Stanišić would be better alongside Vušković. Modrić made some uncharacteristically bad mistakes. So did Sučić. Krama is probably not the guy for a game like this.
Some adjustments and this game could have gone completely different.
In the second half, Brazil changed strategies and decided to sit back and play the counter.
Even though we had mostly third stringers out there, we still tied the game up.
Brazil still seems a bit mentally weak to me and seemed to be easily rattled with guys like Moro, Fruk and Maher creating chances in their box.
I don’t think Ancelotti is pleased with this game.
Unfair criticism towards Budimir. Our midfielders are slow and let Brazil control the tempo. We could have had Davor Šuker in his prime in the 1st half and there would have been little difference.
Smolčić is a great story for Como but showed that he’s not National Team material on that last goal.
So we see what we knew already: we’re super vulnerable to speed. Also that Brazil penalty, im sorry, that was absolute bullshit. Couldnt believe the commentator saying “yep 100% penalty” umm what? The Brazilian just stretched his leg in front of our guy and flopped. If that’s a penalty the game is in real deep shit im afraid.
So yeah not a great result, not terrible, kinda exactly what i was expecting. I was expecting to arguably lose by more so just a mediocre result/performance.
I agree the difference in height actually sold it as a penalty, total bullshit call . Ref was biased nothing new. He is not the reason why we lost. I noticed he was quick to give our guys yellow but gave none to Brazil
Sure he was.
You win games on chances you convert. Not the ones you don’t convert.
Brazil has more chances, but they botched them. You don’t get brownie points for that.
Croatia executed well (despite playing the second half with third stringers) and tied the game up.
The South American referee immediately gifted Brazil with an undeserved PK (which gave them the win).
Their third goal only came as a result of us pressing to tie the game up again.
This was a 1:1 game.
We have a lot of work to do before the cup. We have some talented players but I feel the real downfall is management and coaching and not introducing youth early enough
Not disagreeing, we are vulnerable to speed to some degree . . . but we can step up a notch when playing our best players . . .
Stanisic is no worry, he has handled speedy forwards like Mbabbe very well at the club level in Champions League and he has solid speed himself. . . . Gvardiol has good speed, he is used to those fast Premier league forwards . . . Sutalo, when he is playing well, has deceptively good reaction time and speed which is why he has led whole tournaments and entire leagues (currently the Eredivisie) in interceptions . . .
Kova, Baturina, and Petar Sucic have solid acceleration/speed in the midfield.
I think a bigger problem, or so it seems, is that we lack dangerous attacking speed. Krama, Budimir, and Peresic, are not faster than they were in 2022 . . . Rather slower.
We have to find the right combination on the attack.
Josip Šimunić brother is still on the team in spirit we found out. Luka taking a hard hit for the team.
Dejan Lovren would have done the same.
Younger subs changed the rhythm for us.
2 counters killed us. We’re not quick enough clearly.
Penalty was soft but there was contact it just looks like strikers know how to run into you now and draw contact when in fact they are the ones initiating it. Sutalo was naive in that regard.
We don’t shoot from outside of the box and lacked dynamism, a spark, something.
Score line is misleading.
I agree with you . We should have fouled way before they ever came in distance of the goal . Musa and Marco should of started the game , Luka showed his age tonight
We got beat, we needed that….not a good close out.
c_Fisherman “We have seen enough of Budimir. He might be thriving in La Liga, but he has no vibes with the national team. Musa shows a dynamism that Budimir doesn’t have. Let’s get over the MLS hate.”
As clear as the Adriatic.
It is easy to get on Budimir, but we couldn’t get the ball to him. Perhaps against a Brazil, he is not the right player, but against a Panama or Ghana, I disagree. Hopefully, Coach Dalic will figure it out how to get the best out of this team.
This game is exactly like the 2014 match against Brazil.
Game is 1:1 and the ref decides the outcome of the game by gifting Brazil a PK (after a blatant dive).
Then Brazil adds a third from a counter, to make the score look worse than it is.
Exactly. Penalty was soft AF. Minimal contact and a dive. How they still called it a penalty after VAR is beyond me.
We are susceptible to counters with our lack of speed.
We completely controlled the second half and I think with some tweaks and getting healthy we’ll be in good shape.
Brazil is too mentally weak to hold a one-goal lead against European teams.
Despite us playing third stringers in that second half, Brazil struggled to prevent chances from occurring.
If we had kept our better players out there, we wouldn’t have had to watch guys like Moro botch open-net shots and probably would’ve tied the game up sooner.
We can play a 3 back formation with Gvardiol Stanisic and Vuskovic.
We need Marco Pasalic on the right and Musa upfront if his form continues.
Sucic was disappointing tonight. Got twisted around and burned on the counter goal. Had a few chances outside the box and was slow/indecisive with the ball. If Kova is healthy and in form, I’d take him over Sucic.
Your right . had we had the right players playing in that game and a real coach and not that idiot kovac we could have made a run in Brazil I really think the height difference sold the penalty, he initiated contact Sutalo takes the rap . Had been the other way around no penalty be called
Maminjo are we the only ones that are aware of match fixing?
I remember the phantom call on Olic, reversed goal only for are mid field to be chopped down via NFL tackle for the break away. As well stupid Fred diving like he was at the Toronto Pride Parade.
You young guns wouldn’t know match fixing if it hit you on the head.
Amazing after Dalic inserted our youth we outplayed Brazil. The Majer goal was shear master class but for uneducated footballers on this site, probably American due to NFL goal illusion, can’t see the fix. This is just like France, phantom penalty, add a dive, ignore hand balls by Mbappé It exposes teams to counters no matter what.
As I stated back in 2018 VR would be used as a weapon against us and here we go again.
No VR for the the phantom Fred penalty. Justice will be served not by MR T but Dr J.
Lastly, Anonymous your third person idiot and no nothing about football if you can’t see the fox? Also you’ve been too busy inserting politics into your gay banter, stop insulting Justin Trudeau and being fake Croat weirdo like Iggy and the truth2.
always a diving u know
every ghhjzhjdjn time.you score u get reasy to defend jesus
We have seen enough of Budimir. He might be thriving in La Liga, but he has no vibes with the national team. Musa shows a dynamism that Budimir doesn’t have. Let’s get over the MLS hate.
Vuskovic reminding us all he is still a kid…
Would be a great hockey defenseman as well…
Nice hit
I hope he remains humble as he looks like he had great potential. I like that Modric and Perisic are out there either him. Maybe they can help him grow. Where was Jakic tonight?
Kramaric has to get out for Marco Pasalic, he adds nothing in attack, defence, playmaking, midfield, dribbles, long shots, nothing, just poaching but budimir/Musa will bring us that as an actual striker and more. He ruins the system and may only be effective as a sub vs poor defences that leak chances.
Čaleta-Car and Šutalo are making Modrić and perišić defend too much for them because they can’t read switches of play fast enough.
Pull Čaleta and put Stanišić at RCB/RB, Perišić is playing well linking up with Baturina on the left like they should, Perišić LB/WB, Vušković and Šutalo CB’s but obviously Gvardiol will replace šutalo when he’s back.
Marco Pašalić in immediately starting every game at RM like last game, Perisic lb/wb, I’d put Luka Sucic in for Kramaric so modric and Petar Sucic actually get some midfield support and we add a new dimension of long range threat and press resistance, he was linking well with Marco pasalic last game.
We cannot leave our own half when Kramaric plays but with Marco pasalic we play attacking football like vs Colombia and Faroe Islands, even vs Colombia when Marco came out and Kramaric was in we were just stuck defending and couldn’t advance forward at all.
4231/343/433
Gk Livakovic
LB/WB Perišić
CB Vušković
CB Šutalo (Gvardiol for WC)
RB Stanišić
DM Petar Sučić (he’s playing well)
DM Modrić
AM/CM Luka Sučić
LAM/LW Baturina
RW/RWB Marco Pašalić
ST Budmir (he’ll play better with Kramaric out since he’s taking up all his space in the box and chances, at least budimir is trying to get others involved and keep possession.)
Brazil is really petrified now that Moro is in the game.
Budimir can score 50 goals in Spain every year for 10 years yet he’s not compatible with us.
Wrong Pasalic.
The moose!
Cro is slow and predictable, pass back, slowly work it to the wing, pass back, goalie kicks it, gives up possession. No dynamism or urgency. Vuskovic looking good.
Can we please see Marko, and Petar in at the same time to put the whole MLS conversation to bed, confirmed or debunked
Just like the Argentina Semifinal, we give up a goal on a corner kick on a counter-attack. We already knew we were slow.
Musa is fast as a forward and Marco Pašalić is speedy. This lineup is not ideal for a fast team, but I also understand the need to get Baturina and Budimir their minutes.
To be fair, we likely won’t be playing Ćaleta-Car at the World Cup.
He was very slow to get back, leaving Sučić stranded.
Gvardiol would’ve been able to stop that.
Will Gvardi be back in time for the WC?
Word is yes
Yes
I am not able to watch how are Kramarić and Baturina doing?
Please put in Majer. Maybe he can put some creativity into what has been a boring predictable offense. I would like to see Musa too.
When we face teams that press us, we need to be able to capitalize when we counter. Our lack of speed is really showing tonight. Maybe we should go back to the short corners. Lol.
Nah. Just replace Budimir and Krama in games like this.
Gvardiol, Kovacic and Marco Pasalic playing today would make a big difference. Even Musa up top instead of Budimir.
Stanisic as a RM/RW isn’t ideal. Kova in midfield and Marco Pasalic to make a few runs wouldn’t have Brazil a little more on their heels.
Back three needs to be Gvardiol, Vušković and Stanišić.
Vušković is already a bit slow (and he’s too skilled to leave on the bench), so we can’t pair him with other slow guys like Duje or Erlić.
Perišić is good at LWB.
We can start Marco at RWB (since Stanišić could provide that defensive support behind him at RCB).
definitely replace budimir
Baturina had his chance- he can’t play in the World Cup- looks lost
I think he’s actually playing well.
He’s not making any mistakes and looks very comfortable with the ball under pressure.
The issue is that Budimir and Krama are a bit too slow for this game, so Baturina can’t really link up with them.
I think he is playing well
Where are all those ppl saying Liva shouldnt be our keeper? 😀
Best player on the field by far imo. Also few errors from Luka. Both the golden chances Brazil had (that Liva had to save) came from Luka turnovers in bad positions.
Speed kills
Our #17 had no chance, too slow and too small
He should have fouled
Brazil scored the exact same way Argentina did on us after that corner kick in the last World Cup
Aside from the scoreline would you say Croatia is playing poorly, or well?
Based on what I am reading it doesn’t sound too good.
I think we are playing fine, as much as I love Modric we sometimes lack creativity when he is in. Regardless, he mad 2 big mistakes which Brazil almost scored from, thankfully Liva saved us
Croatia is playing well considering we don’t have Gvardiol and Kovačić (who would be a better fit than Krama in this game).
Croatia has two good headers and a nice shot (unfortunately deflected by a defender). Brazil had three golden chances that Livaković did well on.
Brazil is doing a great job cutting off the flanks, which renders Budimir obsolete. We probably should bring on Musa since we are mostly defending and need more speed for our counters.
We were containing them (other than Luka errors) up until the goal tbh. They had 3 good chances but two of those were bad Luka handovers in poor position so shouldnt really have happened.
It’s not a coincidence when they got the goal was when we were all forward for a corner and not when we had our defensive shape in situ. We can’t all go forward against a team with this speed. Shades of games against Albania et al at the last Euros where all the opponent has to do is “one long ball” through to a fast player and it’s a 1 on 1 with the keeper. Just not good enough.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgAoRJ7aFtE
I found this on you tube.
Hope they put some of those lousy players from MSL in the 2nd half, so we can score.
Modric with two big mistakes losing the ball in dangerous place
Both of Brazil’s chances this game are from Luka Modrić errors 🤣
It should be 2-0 Brazil.
Luca standing on his head

Brazil. Channel SportV
This is not televized in Canada it’s really weird. DAZN had the game versus Columbia but not this one? How does that make any sense?
Please post updates if your watching just so the rest of us know what’s going on it helps.
I can’t find it either.
Crazy that this is not on DAZN.
Andorra, Egypt, etc etc but not Croatia and Brazil.
Iraq vs some other no name is on DAZN. Apparently Croatia vs Brazil is not important enough of a game.
The game is on ESPN
Where’s everyone watching
Anyone have a English version
You can try here https://live.footybite.to/
I’m watching on ESPN UNLIMITED
This line up also bodes well for Jaga’s prospects
U don’t need 4 backup #10s Vlasic, Fruk, Wedding Boy and Majer all going – when only 1.5 of 4 actually deserves it based on club performance
U can drop one for Jaga – easily
I know someone has to be dropped for Kova too
But it’s up to Jaga to fight and perform at PAO
Don’t mind this lineup. With a healthy Gvardiol and Kovacic, we will have some decent depth. Still lack quality wing players but 3 at the back might line up better with the players we have.
It’s really hard to play three at the back with slow CBs.
Erlić struggled last game.
I expect Duje to struggle this game.
Would love to see it with Gvardiol back and Stanišić in there as well (instead of being used as a wingback).
Di Marco and Udogie available now
Maybe Dalic can give them a call and see if they want to switch
Di Marcovic and Udogic have nice rings to them 😊
You put Gvardiol for D-CC and your cooking hopefully it goes well.
It’s a good lineup as discussed the best way to incorporate all the seniors and lack of true wingers was the 3-5-2 just never thought that Dalic would actually try it seriously before WC.
Posted by Jutarnji:
Livaković – Šutalo, Vušković, Ćaleta-Car – Stanišić, Modrić, P. Sučić, Perišić – Baturina, Kramarić – Budimir
Didn’t read the article (too lazy) but it looks like we’re going 3-4-2-1.
Very interesting lineup. I like it, but it could definitely backfire.
Who’s playing RB ???
Stanišić at RWB and Perišić at LWB.
Yup – that’s logical
Unless Dalic is doing back 4 with Luka as RB (like Josko playing LB for city in first year – less risk out wide)
Or Dalic is playing Luka next to Budimir up front !!! 🙃
Interesting line up are we playing 3 at the back again? Or is sutalo playing RB?
Who knows ?!!
Back 3
Luka CCB
Sutalo RCB
Duje LCB
Stanisic RWB
Ivan LWB
Best guess
Or back 4 and one of the CBs is playing RB (if so it could be Luka as RB – less risk out wide like Josko LB first season at Man City)
Looks like a 3atb
Italy, Poland and Denmark knocked out. When the play off draw came out most people would have had them as favorites to make the WC.
Italy it has to be said were unlucky and even with ten men created the better chances than Bosnia. It’s just one of those days and just shows that in a one-off match anything can happen.
I know that the Italian press was not happy with the appointment of the French referee, If I read the report correctly it is the same ref that officiated the Macedonia match 4 years ago?
From the 10 minute highlights that I saw Poland were the better team than Sweden.
Anonymous is the F ing GOAT of all GOATS as always

Told you all
Never doubt Anonymous’ brilliance it’s unmatched
Shout out to @Maminjo who said the same
Barca here we come – over to you Luka 😊

No cap
So Iva posts Ivor’s picture of her and what he said to her (that’s she’s beautiful) on the Gram
Does it move the needle w Dalic?
Let’s see
Can someone sum up all the youth results?
U17 Croatia 1 v Poland 1 – we won the group and have qualified for the EURO in June to be played in Wales and also the WC in November to be played in Qatar.
U19 for 2026 EURO – Croatia 1 v France 1 – we won the group and have qualified. Finals in Estonia I think in June ?
U19 for 2027 Euro – lost 2 – 0 to England, came third but still qualified to the next round of qualifying to be played in March next year.
For more details in regard to the matches see my posts below.
Thank you !
Anyone know why Croatia vs Brazil game isn’t on the Dazn schedule? Every other game is. Don’t want to miss this game. Any links for Canada? Thanks 🇭🇷🇭🇷🔥🔥
ipTV
ESPN has the rights to the Brazil games if I’m not mistaken.
For those in the UK
http://www.itvx.com
It’s on ITV 4
Guys we are sitting here saying how shit we are but are looking pretty darn good compared to Italy and 3 missed world cups
They will say it’s not important as they won euros but we all know they hurting bad
They gonna try to poach Croat players soon
Sorry we aren’t saying we are shit but complaining about our mls striker situation and such
We play Brazil with free money
We are playing without our two best defenders tonight and both will be top 10 in the world soon
Having Espisito take the first penalty is CRAZY
Way too much pressure of a 19 y/o kid
All 4 Bosnia penalties were OUTSTANDING – I mean the technique – all incredible
Taxi for Donna – he should have saved the last one – but he knew it was over already
The last Bosnia guy looked behind himself (no look) as he was shooting – Donna couldn’t follow his eyes
Alajbegovic – wow what a winger – also the guy on the RW – wish Croatia had two wingers like these guys – this Alajbegovic is going places – so direct, not afraid to take on his man, very crafty – very impressive
I knew Esposito would miss.
Completely inexperienced and physical player.
Not the type of guy you want taking a PK in a high pressure situation where experience and skill are king.
Yeah
It was crazy (given history of what happens to Italy players after they miss a penalty)
That’s on GG for letting it happen
I also thought the first Bosnia guy was going to miss (he was biting his life really nervously) but it was just a fake-out so Donna thinks he was nervous (which he wasn’t)
Bosnia qualified for the World Cup
Pusi ga zabari
VERY happy Kulesevski and Sweden made the World Cup
Very happy
England lost 0-1 Japan
TERRIBLE result for Croatia
Just means Tuchel has time to refine
Wish they pumped in a few goals instead and got cocky and Croatia caught them in the over-confident mood
If their is another team outside of Croatia that has a “never die” attitude it is Japan. They are as technically astute as any of the top European nations and have tremendous pride as well. You can tell during the last World Cup that our players had massive respect for the players/country and respected the very hard task at hand. Not surprised one bit that they beat England. Dark horse vibes.
They’re probably the next outsider team to make a run at a medal one day.
They almost always make it out of the group stage, no matter who they’re paired with in their group.
And they’re always unfortunately paired against a medalist in the Round of 16…
and they always very narrowly lose too.
Bih should have had a penalty in 91 minute but its italy
Ideally should have had a penalty (instead of that Tonali free kick)
Wish Vasijl and Katic played for Croatia instead
Bastoni red card – better than Vuskovic – LMAO
*Italy (not ideally)
Yea the ref overlooked that one
Lame, looks like Italy gonna qualify. 1-0 up on Bosnia in the 80th. They are on 10 men tho
BiH scores immediately after you posted that
Livaković – Jakić, Šutalo, Ćaleta-Car, Stanišić – Modrić, P. Sučić – Perišić, Kramarić, Baturina(Mario Pašalić) – Budimir this what the expected lineup will be according to multiple news outlets
LOL @ Mario Pašalić still being there in brackets.
Of course he has to be there. Even when it’s blatantly obvious that he shouldn’t ever start on the wing, and Baturina playing out of his mind…
Of course there is still a good chance Dalić continues with Mario Pašalić starting.
Is Perisic going on the right side then baturina on the left??
@mart
Gil.hr sports journalist says Covic was the best player today and will be a NT player in 3 years
I thought you listen to the pundits ?
https://x.com/mario_katusic/status/2038948864472830376?s=46
Anonymous, how do I watch tonight game from Ontario?
DAZN had the Columbia game but not Brazil. This blows my mind that I can’t watch this game.
Noa Mikic was the best player and there were a number of others that were better than Covic.
I cannot see Covic playing for the seniors in 3 years time.
Farcical scenes in Osijek with 3 Turkish players red carded.
They started playing dirty immediately after the restart of the match and it continued in the second half.
We lead 2 – 0 with Jagusic scoring with a deflected shot from some 24 metres out in the 54 minute.
cant get that dirt out of the type.
Guess we know where “Swiss” ref Alessandro Dudic’s family is from 😉
Turkey down to 8 men
3 red cards
No excuse Jaga – another goal please and thank you
The Market Value of starting XI?
25m HRV vs 43m Turkey
And Turkey missing their 4-5 best U21 (and were missing Luka)
Point is this is a really good Turkey U21 side
Moj JAGUSIC !!!!!!!!!!
1 goal down
Need one more G or A
Let’s f ing go Jaga !!!
Jaga’s GF is at the match FYI
HT U21
Croatia 1 v Turkey 0
The match restarted after a delay of almost two hours.
According to the TV commentator the Turks did not want to play, however when the UEFA delegate told them that the match had to be played or they would forfeit the match they agreed to play.
Shortly after the restart Hrgovic and Segecic combined well for Segecic to deliver a good cross for Krivak to tap in from close range.
The delay was due to the Turkish coach reacting angrily when seeing one of his players red carded, turned awkwardly lost balance and fell on his face. Reports suggest that he has a broken jaw and is concussed.
No reason to suspend the match
Brain bleeds can have delayed onset of up to 48 hours – meaning you get a CT scan 4-6 hours after the fall and a 2nd one 24-48 hours
Most people only get one CT scan bc most people are MORONS
Don’t be a MORON and always get a 2nd one
Obviously if u get symptoms eg vomiting, seizures, etc then u definately need to be at the ER
U 21 Croatia v Turkey 0 – 0 after 34 minutes.
Matched stopped after Turkish coach or official collapsed near the dugout.
Ambulance arrived and the players were asked to leave the field.
In the same minute Turkish player was sent off for second yellow.
We are all over them having 9 corners but unable to score, although we did score one however it was ruled out for a foul on the Turkish goalkeeper.
Not sure if the match will restart ??
Yes – nobody died
The coach was a MORON who threw his jacket to protest the red and slipped and hit his head
Play stupid games – win stupid prizes
Krivak scored 1-0 at HT
U17 Croatia 1 v Poland 1
We qualify for Euro and WC in Qatar.
We were the better team for the first 25 minutes and Dedic hit the bar with a header. From then it was Poland and they took the lead just before the half time.
We equalised in the 73 minute when Dedic took a free kick and the Polish goalkeeper saved it only to drop it and it barely rolled over the line for 1 – 1.
Jaga and Sege starting
Wow wow wow
Barisic too
Silic in net
Prpic and Mlacic
And a bunch of other guys
Honestly no excuses not to school Turkey today
Jaga is angry – let’s see him channel that into at least 2 G+A
Does anyone know where Croatia vs Brazil is streaming in Australia?
Try Nova TV download and seems to have Gol tv attached to it ( which seems to have evidence of the game been televised)hoping to watch it via that ,sretan put!
I am hoping he gives Musa a chance to start . Seems MLS did Musa a world of good . he has found form and seems confident . If he continues to improve hopefully he can return to Euro and play for major team there
Would like to see if Budimir could put up the numbers that Musa is putting up in the MLS, or would they be more Messi like pedestrian.
Dalic wants to ease Vuskovic into it
Starts Sutalo and DCC
If they f up – easy reason to bring on Vuskovic
If they don’t f up – bring Vuskovic on in the 2nd half vs. tired legs for Brazil A team and/or vs. fresh legs of Brazil B team – that’s the way, less pressure on Luka
Has anyone heard from Martin ?
Ever since he told us he’s off to some tittie bars in Orlando we’ve never heard from him again.
Did he get swallowed up by a stripper or something ???
Igor Tudor taking over Ghana for the World Cup ?
Does anyone know how the Grammar Princess will spend today given Mr. T pulled the Brazil vs. Croatia broadcast in Canada ?!
His link doesn’t work for him. What a MORON. LMAO
https://www.livesoccertv.com/match/croatia-vs-brazil/11cm
Mr. T also said he will ban all World Cup broadcasts from Canada too (the next logical step is he relocates all the Canada matches in the US – that’s next)
I have Nova TV and ESPN Deportes but your concern is appreciated.
How many posts are you gunning for today? My book has the over/under at 23.5.

The sharp money is coming in on the over. Impressive and sad for someone who was politely asked by Ante to not post so much.
U19 Croatia 1 v France 1 and we qualify for the EURO in June to be held in Wales.
We really should have won this match on chances created despite France dominating possession.
Smiljanic put as 1 – 0 ahead in the 55th minute with a nicely worked goal.
France equlised in the 68th with their first shot on target. In the 81 minute France was reduced to 10 players when their defender got his second yellow.
This is a talented generation of players having played more than a dozen matches and are undefeated. Six competitive and a number of friendlies.
For once I was impressed by Noa Mikic playing at RB in these qualifiers. He was always good going forward but in these matches, he was also excellent in defence which was not the case in the past.
I also like Lovro Chelfi from Barcelona who plays on the RW and is left footed.
The other Croatia U19s vs. England U19 today (for Euro 2027?) – same coach coaching both teams – I guess back-to-back games ? How do the training sessions work if he has to coach two sets of U19s ????
Croatia U17 play Poland U17 too today
And of course Jaga and the U21s Turkey
It’s all very confusing – two different Croatia U19s teams keep playing on the same day but for two different tournaments (?)
U19’s for 2007 are coached by Zoran Vulic, Hajduk legend from 1980’s.
U19’s for 2006 are coached by Budimir, the guy that took Hajduk youth to the Final of YCL.
should be 2026 and 2027
U19 England
Jeremy Monga 16 y/o (1000 minute in “English 2nd Tier” at Leicester)
Looks like the best player on the pitch
Might be ready for England U21s already lol
Jutarnji thinks that this will be the lineup:
HRVATSKA (4-2-3-1): Livaković – Jakić, Šutalo, Ćaleta-Car, Stanišić – Modrić, P. Sučić – Kramarić, Baturina, Perišić – Budimir.
So dalic is essentially going with his starting line up tonight… but no vuskovic
Which makes me feel that either vuskovic is not a starter in dalic mind which would be stupid or that dalic wants to get a look at each of his defenders in these friendlies.
That second one is also stupid. Dalic has had years to get looks at dcc. Surely another look at him can’t be more important than actually getting vuskovic another rep and this time with the starters
It’s dumb cause we can expect him to come on in the second half but we’ll likely see other starters rotate out then also. Glad vuskovic will be able to build chemistry with moro
The fact that Dalic kept Sutalo and DCC on the bench against Colombia is indicative that two of them barring any injuries will also start against England at the WC in 4 at the back formation.
Which is ridiculous, considering Vuskovic just won his FOURTH rookie of the month award and has faced Harry Kane twice this year (improving immensely from the first to second time). All the while Duje is playing alright for a mediocre Real Sociedad.
Maybe HNS would rather Vuskovic help out with the U19’s this summer.
I’m expecting to get spanked but the good news is, according to the commenter re Ghana losing to Austria 5-1 the other day, it’s actually good when you get belted in friendlies cos “you work out your probs” before the tourney proper. So it’s better to lose by 4 goals than to win by 4, so if we get spanked, just remember that 😉
Huge day coming up, with a number of matches for our youth and senior teams.
All matches LIVE on MAXSPORT 1 & 2 for those interested.

Thanks Mart!
I don’t have MAXSPORT so any commentary you could provide on the games would be greatly appreciated. Any standout prospects for the NT?
By the way, does anyone know anything about getting MAXSPORT in Canada? Is it simple to do?
Thank you Mart , your always a resource
Is there any world where Perišić and baturina can both play on the left together
Like Perišić at lb if gvardi doesn’t come back
