After a slow start, the unlikliest Vatreni player, Kristijan Jakić, broke the deadlock with a wonderful shot from just outside the box. Montenegro would pick up a red card to play with 10 men before the halftime whistle.
Kramarić doubled the lead in the 2nd half with an easy tap-in in front of goal. Montenegro scored an own goal off a Majer shot/deflection. Perišić would bag an injury time insurance goal to make it 4-0.
Kramarić is the current goal scoring leader (6) in UEFA World Cup qualifying.
Croatia will have one foot in the door if they beat Czechia in October for automatic World Cup qualification.
Dalić made 5 subs on the day. None of them were for Marco Pašalić. We have a shortage of wingers and he just doesn’t want to play the guy. Why???
85′: GOOOOALLL 3-0 Croatia. Majer takes a long shot from outside the box. It takes two deflections off Montenegro players and spins into the net. He didn’t even celebrate that one.
81′: FINAL SUB. Modrić comes off to a standing ovation from the Maksimir faithful for Moro. How much does Dalić hate Marco Pašalić???
72′: SUBS. Kramarić and Sučić come off. Baturina and Majer come on. how is Marco Pašalić not in this game???
70: Croatia still up 2-0 and in complete control. Making it look like a training session with Montenegro down a man.
60′: SUBS. Double change from Dalić. Budimir comes on for Ivanović. Fruk comes on for Mario Pašalić.
50′: GOOOOOAL!!! 2-0 Croatia off a corner. Kramarić redirects a bouncing ball from Stanišić in the box. That is Krama’s 6th goal of qualifying as he now leads all of Europe in this current campaign.
42′: RED CARD! Modrić makes a run into the box and is pulled down by Bulatović just a foot outside. It’s his 2nd yellow in 8 minutes. Montenegro will now play the rest of the match with 10 men.
34′: GOOOOOOOALLL!! Croatia 1-0. And it’s the last player you would expect. RB Kristijan Jakić blisters a left.footed strike from 19 yards out just inside the far post. What a shot! Looks like the keeper lost it in the box with all the traffic.
33′: Modrić flips up a dime piece pass to Stanišić in the box but he does not get a shot off. Could have easily scored.
27′: Petar Sučić picks up the ball at the top of the box but shoots well high. Needs to do better.
25′: DCC picks up a yellow card at midfield. Croatia with 75% ball possession so far.
20′: Ivanović with a header from the middle of the box. It’ on frame but an easy grab for the keeper.
15′: Things have slowed down. Montenegro putting up a blockade in the back which the Vatreni can’t get through up the middle or from the sides.
5′: Croatia will a confident and lively start against Montenegro. Much better look than vs. Faroe Islands Friday.
-Stanišić & Šutalo back in the squad which is great news defensively!
-What is Dalić’s love affair for starting Mario over Marco as a winger?!?!
-Ivanović over Budimir at the #9…hmmmm. Did he just leap Budimir in the pecking order?
Ange is back 😊
Lucky Liva lucked out he didn’t join Forrest
He would not have had a lot of fun in front of Ange’s high-line (and no VdV to mop it all up with constant sprints back) lol
Some interesting results overnight in WC qualifying.
I was surprised that Serbia got thumped 5 – 0 by England in Belgrade. This England team has been struggling to win big against Andorra and Latvia and here they go and thump Serbia away from home.
Norway 11 – 1 against Moldova means that they are in a good position to win the group and send Italy to the play offs and possibility on missing another WC?
The European play offs are going to be brutal and that is why we must win our group and avoid them at all cost.
Hopefully Gvardiol will be fit for October, and we’ll be lucky if Kovacic is match fit for the matches in November?
Serbia always chokes in football. Literally always. Nothing surprises me with them anymore.
Italy is headed for the playoffs.
Only way they win their group is if they win out (beating both Israel and Norway)…and still need Norway to lose points elsewhere (or make up the 16-goal differential between them).
Those playoffs are going to be brutal.
16 teams are grouped into four one-game knockout paths.
The teams below will have to fight it out for four spots at the World Cup.
Italy, Turkey, Hungary, Czech, Bosnia, Serbia/Albania, Germany/Slovakia, Belgium/Wales, Sweden, Romania, Scotland/Greece, Poland, Kosovo, Iceland/Ukraine, Macedonia, Northern Ireland.
Just for those who might know. I believe that the group phases of the Nation’s League begins on the 23rd of September and runs to mid-November 16th of this year.
The question I have is: do the call ups stay the same or does Dalic have to submit his selections again? I was pretty sure he has to submit then again in a week or so I thought.
Nevermind I just realized it is every 2 years with the exception of that one year. My bad.
Jagusic ball striking in 27′
Wow – so elite (and rare)
@gokayakpinar (Turkish POV on Jagusic)
Translated from Turkish by Grok
Adriano Jagusic, born in 2005 in Croatia, is a very big talent. He positions himself very well on the field and impacts the game with every ball he receives. He stands out greatly with his technical capacity, first touch, and creativity.
When we look, he has been regularly getting playing time at Slaven Belupo for two years and his contribution to the score is at a high level. Special !!
Same guy also points out Hrgovic
Translated from Turkish by Grok
Another name that should not be overlooked is the 2004-born left-back Simun Hrgovic. He uses the left flank offensively very, very well and was seriously effective, especially with his crosses; in defense as well, he drew plenty of attention with his tackling skills, timing, game energy, and dynamism.
The Croatian league is not one that I follow, so I don’t know what the player’s current market value is, but he definitely won’t stay there for long. Special !!
Cakewalk of a qualifying group. That’s going to lead to Dalic getting a rude awakening.
Not a lover of Majer, but I am part of the Junior Pasalic fan club. All the world’s energy and God aligned for Majer’s goal to happen yesterday. Even he didn’t want to take credit. He gets a ten for individual style. Of all our penalty shooters, Majer, I trust him the least. Glad his goal went in barely at the Brazil shoot out.
Watching Marco’s work rate and meaningful attacking on frame shooting style brings movement, excitement, and sense of continued possibilities. That is just what I feel when he is on the field. If Marco had a penalty I would bet, he would hammer it in in the top corner, would not overthink his actions to mess it up.
Remember, we already got a taste of how our newer players do in PKs against France. That could eventually determine which lineup starts versus comes off the bench when we have so many players playing well.
So Norway squeaked by Moldova today 11-1.
Looking more and more like Italy will need to beat Norway by like 5-6 goals (minimum) in November to avoid the playoff. We’ll see
Pretty good game from the under21 team. Probably deserved the win as they created more chances. Jagusic besides that one stupid back header which lead to the goal was really good. Grgic had some nice chances as well. Vrbancic had a shaky first half lost the ball twice in dangerous area which lead to dangerous counters. Vrbancic had a really good chance to win it but shot just wide in the last minute.
Yes, they did well to get a draw away in Trabzon and if anything, we had the better chances. Grgic should have scored in the second half when he failed to get a touch on to the Hrgovic cross.
Vuskovic was Ok, however he almost cost us a goal in the 85th minute when he let the ball bounce in front of our goal from a long throw in.
Next match is home to Ukraine in October.
No one is mentioning how horrible Sosa is. He was always bad defensively but now his offensive game has disintegrated. When he slipped trying to take the cross in the corner against the Farroes was the icing on the cake.
Dalic should stop calling him up and try Bradaric.
Except for playing the wrong Pasilic at RW I have no issues with what Dalic has done during these qualifiers. I also like the fact that he started Ivanovic in the last game. We don’t need 4 payers on the pitch who are north of 35 yrs old or close and need to start giving the younger players meaningful game time. Plus Buda while effective is such a awkward player on the pitch. He’s all elbows and knees and loves to flop with no contact.
No one? Haha
There are lots of Sosa haters on this site.
He’s only decent at crossing the ball, but he barely sends any in.
He’s a net negative player. No doubt.
Re: Budimir…
It’s less about age. More about having a nice tall Mandžo-caliber striker up top (who can free up guys like Krama and Ivanović to do what they want).
I didn’t like that Ivanović started without Budimir.
Dalić never plays them together, and I think Ivanović would benefit greatly (just like Krama does) with Budimir out there causing ruckus elbowing everybody.
Sosa 1 of 11 successful crosses vs Faroe – he’s not even doing that
I was trying to give Sosa a chance but at this stage it’s a wasted spot. His performance against Faroe Islands was atrocious. He had one really bad turnover that could have led to a really bad result for Croatia. He left the defense completely exposed. Not to mention that he did not even really provide much up front.
His spot on the team could have been given to an extra centre forward or option for a winger like Pjaca (since Dali refuses to play Marko Pašalić) which is something we desperately need. Beljo could have been another addition to squad even, an extra striker is not a terrible thing either.
Another point though, we were pretty much bottlenecked on the one side of the field on the left. If not for some really good work from Jakić. But this would be an additional reason to have the at extra winger on the other side, you need more of a threat from both sides. Marco Pašalić anyone? Lol.
I have mentioned this a couple times before. But I wouldn’t mind seeing Juranovic tried out the right winger role. I think it might actually work, he is pretty dynamic with those runs.
I dunno about everyone else’s thoughts but I thought Fruk played really well and the was very impressive. He had some close opportunities.
Pjaca didn’t get the call-up because he was without a club all summer and has not yet played a match, as far as I’m aware. Fortunately, his agents made a good move and waited until he could sign with a historic club in the Eredivisie that needs his help to stay competitive this season. I expect him to join the repka again at some point. I would like to see Ivanović used as either a RW or secondary striker and for Beljo or Petković (who is playing well again and still not as old as he looks) to be the backup 9. Bradarić wouldn’t be an upgrade over Sosa, but Hrgović might be.
I get what your saying Anonymous Doom, but I dunno. We don’t have that many options on the right wing. So Dalic refuses to call up Pjaca who he would otherwise have used and calls up Marco Pašalić who he wasn’t going to give playing time to anyways? Doesn’t seem smart on Dalic’s part to do this. Whether Pjaca has a club or not it doesn’t seem wise to take away options in that role given the type of lineup he is using.
Bradarić is probably worse off defensively than sosa
Then we can move on to playing Stanisic at LB full-time and start looking at giving Hrgovic a callup (and some minutes off the bench).
Let’s be real. Our group is a vacation and the teams in this group are 3rd world at best. We have trounced and we should be trouncing. Love to see the Italanos struggling and fighting with each. Love the Italians . Lovely people but man their soccer has gone downhill for many years now. Don’t feel sorry for them . Idemo decki, keep beating on this 3rd world group.
The BEST news about this round is the emergence of Kristijan Jakic as our #1 option for RB.
Juranovic and Sosa have always been way too weak defensively on the flanks, and Dalic was trying to play Gvardiol/Stanisic at LB/RB to cover for this issue (weaking our CB pairing).
Now, with Stanisic playing first team football with Bayern in the LB position (and Jakic continuing to be in form at Augsburg)…
This gives is the option to play a much more defensively-ept backline of Stanisic, Gvardiol, Sutalo, Jakic moving forward.
Agree Jakic was excellent both games – doesn’t excel at anything in particular but good/very good at everything with no clear weakness (for opponent to exploit)
Was thinking exact same back 4 (unless Valincic or some other RB has an incredible season that can’t be ignored)
Vuskovic should be given a shot at the Sutalo role at some point – let’s see whether that happens or not
Jakic deserves the starting role – he got a chance and took full advantage – not only these 2 games – but Scotland and 1/2 Portugal (where he was outstanding)
Dropping him would send wrong/terrible message too
Also Bradaric should be called and tested for backup LB roll (instead of Sosa) for debt purposes
*depth
Jakic cannot truly be considered #1 rb option. Maybe for minnows, but definitely not for sharks
Who can be considered the #1 option?
I’d rather not move Stanisic from LB, and I’d like to pair Gvardiol back at CB with Sutalo (instead of having to start Duje or someone else).
Jakic is fine at RB. He can be our Ivan Strinic for this World Cup.
If Dalic was a bit more forward-thinking, then it would be great for him to start calling up Hrgovic and Valincic (and give them minutes off the bench at LB and RB). I’m sure they would surprise and give us better defense in their backup minutes than Sosa or Juranovic could.
Did you not see how well he played against Portugal at that position? He shut down Leão and assisted on a goal. Definitely ready for sharks.
@Scout
lol
Go rewatch 2nd half vs. Portugal last November (rewatch the entire 45′ and just keep eyes on Jakic the entire time)
Jakic came on and single-handedly changed the game
Every single action/touch he made was perfect
He got the assist (cross) on Gvardiol’s goal to tie it 1-1
And won MOTM
It was the best RB performance we have seen in a Croatia shirt – since JJ vs. Brazil – and before that prime Srna
Farroe and Montenegro performances are building off of that
The czechs have been stubborn winning everything but their collapse against us. If they could’ve just slipped once, it would make things extremely comfortable.
Models continue to put us at 90 percent to qualify but none of us can sit here and say it’s unrealistic to see a scenario of tying montenegro and a loss to the czechs and finish second
The good news is you can’t really ask for more out of Croatia. 4-0, leads all qualifying in goals scored and goal differential
I continue to be happy with the trade off of not advancing in nations league so as to get this easier group
The probability of Czechs losing points in the Faroe Islands is higher than us losing points in Montenegro.
Czechs needed a very late goal to beat Faroes in Prague. They won’t pull off the victory away in Faroe Islands.
Montenegro is in disarray. They went down against Gibraltar (in Montenegro), and had a late 96th minute winner against the Faroes (also in Montenegro). Prosinecki is checked out, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost their remaining games.
Croatia has two tough away games at czech and montenegro. Czech only has one tough match at home against croatia.
Basically if czech beat croatia..and croatia drew montenegro in last games, we are out of first spot and automatic qualification..i really hope its not another stimac era where we perform well in 1st half of 2014 wc qualifiers and screw up 2nd half..resulting in 2nd or 3rd spot and a play off eventually
I am not pessimistic here..just that we should not be complacent..our away record is not that great.
I hear you…but the good news is that we were actually playing shorthanded this round and Dalic was also taking a risk in Faroes by going deeper into the bench.
We didn’t have some key starters this round in Gvardiol and Kovacic…and Sutalo is still getting back to 100 percent.
Stanisic missed the first game, and Luka Sucic was suspended.
Most of these guys will be back in Oct/Nov.
However, I think our backline issues being solved with Stanisic at LB and Jakic at RB is the underrated benefit here.
Also you’re very wrong about “Czech only has one tough match at home against croatia”.
They need to play Faroes in the Faroe Islands.
This is a team they were lucky to squeeze by in Prague. I expect this game to be a draw.
Time to switch attention to today’s U21 Euro qualifier v Turkey in Trabzonspor.
KO at 19:00 Croatian time.
LIVE coverage on Maxsport 1.
Where’s the 4th goal in the play by play? Lazy journalism 😆
Hard to complain about a 4–0 victory in which every Croatian player played well, even though Kramarić, Sučić, and Perišić were not even at their best. My theory about Marco Pašalić is that he’s been showing some kind of weakness in training that puts him behind Fruk and Baturina, maybe not as good a touch. Jakić is outstanding. Majer also. Šutalo is a great defender. Croatia is in good shape.
Marco Pasalic will be the second coming of brekalo not a prime perisic why all the hype?
How do you know?? Just curious. At this stage we have no idea until he gets playing time, that’s the idea and then we will know.
But if Dalic refuses and then does not play him at all then there is no way of knowing. But the games against Gibraltar and Faroe Islands, those were great opportunities to try him considering he was the only other true winger we had.l on the lineup.
Marco Pasalic obviously won’t be anywhere near Perisic’s level, but that’s a pretty high standard to hold any player to.
Pasalic is very useful to the NT at the moment, and he still has lots of time to improve. He’s not a superstar, but he’s creative, has an insane left foot (that he’s willing to use consistently), and a strong dribbler. He’s fun to watch and fans really like that. Especially considering Croatia’s slower, build-up style of play.
I’m one of those people who continuously says he needs more chances. But at the same time, there must be a reason Dalic hasn’t put his faith in him. Probably the same reason he’s playing in the MLS at 24.
Marco Pašalić is a high floor, low ceiling player.
He’ll always give you what you need as a great role player (speed, width, crosses, shots on goal) but he’s unlikely to ever become anything more than a role player (let alone a superstar like Perišić at his peak).
I still feel its too too early to tell Maminjo.
Marco Pašalić can still be a vital part of the team, and as good as other players… He is still young.
Young-ish.
Turns 25 on Sunday.
I’m sure he will continue to improve though. Maybe does some late-career where he just kills it for a couple of tournaments (like Mislav Orsic did for us).
Poor Marco Pasalic come’s over from the USA and does not get a minute. Dalic should have given him a run instead of Toni Fru_ or Baturina.
Jakic our best player overall in the two matches at Right Back. Not sure if Gvardiol will be ready to play in 4 weeks against the Chechs? if not stick with Stanisic on the left and Jakic at RB.
I also thought that Majer did well when he came on and we missed him for the match against Faroes.
Interesting that Montenegro fans displayed a banner apologising for the war and attacks on Dubrovnik.
Heaps of chants from our fans UBIJ SRBINA, meaning that we will get another sanction from FIFA. I hope it is only monetary rather than stadium ban for our next home match against Gibraltar in Varazdin. Fans in Varazdin deserve the chance to watch vatreni in their town.
Majer looked really good out there.
When he’s in full form and plays in central midfield (and not the wing) he’s a very effective player for us.
Very creative and creates a lot of chances. Exactly what we need when Modric and Krama retire.
Yeah he looked good last night but did he look “really good”because we were up a man and there was plenty of space and no pressure? I still think he is too slow and lacks pace for the modern game.
Yes.
He wasn’t required to play any defense, so it definitely made him look better. As mentioned earlier on this site, he shouldn’t be subbing in and playing in the pivot.
But when looking at what he brings on offense…
Despite there being 10 Montenegrin players defending in their box, he seems to have no issues finding space.
He’s not a complete midfielder (just like Krama), but he can play the Krama role on this team (when Krama retires).
That’s exactly where I see Majer. We could potentially have both Sucic cousins in the middle…But more than likely Kovacic will be placed somewhere in the middle, so I don’t know of they will both get playing time. They might all three get a chance if Dalic ever opts for a 4-3-3 again. In this way Kovacic and Petar Sučić would offer support at the back with Luka Sucic can play in deep the way he likes to. Currently I am more of a fan of the 4-2-3-1 that Dalic has been playing. But the 4-3-3 could still work in some scenarios.
Baturina is also an option I am forgetting here. To be fair our midfield is where we have the least of problems moving forward.
Dalic’s aversion to Marco Pasalic is frustrating. We need wingers and to not give him a minute in either of these games didn’t make sense. Especially when the game was in the bag in the second half.
And he kept Modric and Perisic in way too long when the game was decided. This does not bode well when we’re in the WC with little rest between games. He needs to learn how to load manage the vets and save their energy.
I really enjoyed Stanisic game at LB. What a breath of fresh air seeing his overlapping runs while not sacrificing the defense. When Gvardiol comes back to replace DCC, we should be very tight on the back line.
Marco P played off the bench in the Faroe Islands match. Not sure why he didn’t play against Montenegro, but it’s hard to complain with how well Mario Pašalić, Fruk, and Majer all played. Dalić gave Moro a few minutes off the bench at his natural position. I guess you could say Marco should have played instead of Baturina, but it’s hard to say Dalić is wrong when the substitutes created two goals.
It makes sense to play him with Budimir, so it was strange they didn’t sub in together.
Marco is not as elite as the rest of our team (which is probably why Dalic doesn’t like him out there)…but he’s definitely a player who likes to push the ball forward and can send in some mean crosses and ‘Orsic-style’ bombs onto goal.
They have to stop chanting these things it’s not good, and very inappropriate. Unless they are content with the world thinking that we are barbarians.
We have to get some friendly matches against some quality teams- we’re playing 3rd world European teams- honestly, maybe Monty’s have a better game someday but they looked like Hamilton Croatia U8
Go Hamilton Croatia 🇭🇷
Fellow from the same Selo
Dalić thinks HNL is far superior to MLS.
Even the ball boy played but Marco couldn’t get a sniff.
I love British announcers some times. Right at the end of the match…and the Montenegrins finally get a shot on target. No beating around the bush with them. Lol!
The stream that I was watching near the end they took a shot and the commentator said ” Montenegro finally took a shot!” In a sarcastic way. I dont think ive ever heard a commentator speak like that!
They always say funny shit every now and then. It’s not the first time I have heard it. Throughout that entire game he was saying how monumentally bad it was for Montenegro I just forgot half the comments.
Pasalic traded to Farris Wheelers for 6 cases of Canadian club and free ice.
Is there a reason Majer is wearing low cut socks with no shin guards?
I was trying to figure that one out. Maybe he forgot his cleats. Lol!
Was really surprised to see him play after bailing just before the start against Faroe. Must have forgot his shin pads in the Faroe Islands.
He was sick from my understanding.
Dalic must really hate Marco P… still not playing him with all these subs
We have so many Marco Pasalic fans here. We hsve out scored our competition 17-1. I will trust Coach Dalic’s judgement. Viva Zlatko!
It’s not being a fan so much as realizing it’s position where we need a void filled. He is the only other true winger in the lineup. I am not sure how people don’t see this?! Lol
called Croatia 2-Monty’s with no country 0 – no more goals, please-small wager payoff, thank you.
I hope Dalić doesn’t wait until the 150th minute again to put in Marco Pašalić.
Just accept it
Nice goal by Jakic.
DCC on a yellow, if I was Dalic I would bring in Erlic or Pongracic to replace him no need to take any risks.
Agreed
Not really sure why Erlic gets called up only to be benched. He is not the worst option. There was a point in time where the Erlic/Šutalo combination worked for a while.
I agree. Perišić had to pull him away from the referee to prevent him from arguing with the referee. He has no self control.
Near the end of the half Caleta Car was carrying the ball and passed the ball to Modric instead of Perisic to his left. Perisic seemed upset with him. Hopefully, they can build a connection together
Also, Kramaric should have done better with that shot
The Farris wheeler island guys are way better than these no country Monty’s
Haha, Gattuso’s Italy tying Israel. Embarrassing.
They still have to play in Italy.
An away draw wouldn’t be the end of the World for Italy.
Montenegro are down to 10 men, foul on Modric resulted on another yellow card. The challenge carrieed into the penalty box, wouldn’t that be given as a penalty? ive seen some challenges like that in EPL that would be given as one.
Ref is actually being diplomatic with them.
Opted to not give us the PK, because of the second yellow.
There was also a handball in the box that was waived off due to the arm being close to the body… But I’ve seen us get calls for PKs against us because of this.
That’s not true. PK was not given because the hold started outside of the penalty area.
Name the equivalent of the play where we got hosed where the referee correctly did not award a hand ball? You won’t.
Arm is against the body and not making himself bigger. It’s not a hand ball just because the shot struck his arm. He’s not supposed to be hiding his arm behind his back.
Perišić against France
Both plays aren’t remotely close.
The rule in UEFA is that a foul should be marked where the offending contact ends, not where it begins. Modrić knows this and dragged Bulatović into the box for that reason. The exact same play happened to Endrick at Real Madrid last year.
A referee shouldn’t pardon a penalty just because it is also a second yellow. It was a bad mistake by the defender, and it should have been punished accordingly. He could also technically have been given a steaight red for his foul against Petar Sučić because he slapped Petar in the face in an unnatural way. Bulatović had that red coming for him either way the way he was playing.
The handball no-call was technically correct. It looked bad because the guy’s hand completely changed the ball’s trajectory, but the call was right.
That’s not true. Each competition does not pick what a PK is.
I am citing IFAB rules.
Well, the top refs in the top leagues in Europe call it the way I’ve described, including after VAR review, so there is something to it.
I didn’t think that was handball either personally. It didn’t look intentional.
The red card should have been called a penalty as the contact ended inside the box. This ref is an amateur.
As with Maminjo, you guys have this wrong. It’s not where it ended.
The hold started outside of the penalty area.
That penalty against Modrić did look to be inside the box to me, not sure why that was not a penalty kick. Being diplomatic or not it shouldn’t matter, a penalty kick is a penalty kick.
I am with Maminjo on this one, they have no problem handing it out to us.
Jakić with a Dario Srna impersonation 😀.
We don’t have enough guys like him that can create their own shot.
Jakic has scored an incredible goal!
Also, Modric has been finding some great passes
Jakić literally scores after I typed that below haha
Lots of decent crosses into the Montenegrin box.
I wish we had a tall striker to get their head on the end of these.
Israel up 1-0 vs Gattuso and Italy.
Don’t worry.
Bamba still hasn’t come on yet.
Our first shot on goal comes 20 minutes into the match.
Any good links for the game? Please and thank you
Mario Pašalić at RW, hahaha.
Told you guys.
Dalić ALMOST got this right. No Budimir is a BIG mistake though. He should have Ivanović on the wing to make space for Budimir in the starting eleven.
Mario played a good first half though. Could have had two assists if Perišić had gotten on the end of what were excellent through balls with superb vision. He’s also been part of the pressure in the Montenegro box. Hard to complain when Croatia has allowed no shots and is up at halftime.
I’m not against Mario Pašalić starting.
So long as he isn’t expected to play deep and defensive, then he’s fine.
Big difference between today’s game and the last game.
Yea I’m confused why no budimir. His performance for nt since the euros has been great. Matches what he does for club. One may be left with no other choice than to conclude he is currently a good player
This game should have been played at the Rose Bowl- real grass, Croatians all over the North America would attend , invite Thompson to do Lijepa Nasa Domovino, Trump it up ,baby!!!
Maminjo gonna freak when he sees no Budimir !
Perisic-Budimir-Marko P-Kramaric-Modric-Petar Sucic-Stanicic-Duje- Sutalo-Jakic-Livakovic
Is Majer fit for this game?

Yes, I am local to this site and it is pervasive over the last few days.
Maksimir is a Dump the best thing for Dinamo and Repka is a new stadium. I truly hope they actually build a new stadium and its not more of the same bullshit that’s been going on for the last 30 years fake news. If they do Dinamo will be unstoppable, the current stadium is a key factor that keeps fans away.
Is this for sure the last official NT game at Makisimir ? 😢
Why are you sad?
The current stadium is an embarrassment and they’re building a new Maksimir on the same spot.
The earthquake ruined the current stadium anyway (can’t even use half of the stands). This thing died long ago. Glad they chose to build s new one on the same spot.
The real sad story is Poljud likely becoming an abandoned stadium (even though it’s only 46 years old).
They want to build a new one in Brodarica (and not bother rebuilding at the Poljud site).
Very sad if true. Great memories there. They dont make em like that anymore..
Time and memories are what make a stadium not modern amenities. I couldn’t give a about any stadium from this century.
Olic interview today SN
He says he’s ready for Turkey U21 game tomorrow
But Turkey senior NT had four U21 players with them y’day (in the lost to Spain 6-0) and if they send even one of them to Turkey U21 it will make a big difference (what happens if they send all four ???)
Anyways, why doesn’t this apply to Croatia ?
i.e. it would have been ok for Luka to be in Faroe with senior NT and than sent to you as he would make a big difference (even moreso as Croatia played Friday – and Spain played Sunday – i.e. 2 extra days b/w NT games and the U21 game)
Genius at work here
Do you need to be held Iggy?
Nah felt okay about this one lol.
Might need to be held for the away to Czechia game in a month tho !
Real Sociedad trying to dump Luka Sucic onto Hajduk Split
Sad way to exploit his birthday celebration. But football is a tough biz after all.

lol
Luka reposted it on his IG but cut off half the post only showing himself in the Hajduk kit
Tell me you’re going back to Hajduk without telling me
Croatia2- Montenegro 0
a Croatia win should all but solidify our winning the group. After tomorrow there are 4 games left
Gibraltar (H)
Faroe Islanda (H)
Montenegro (A)
That should be 9 points which if we lost to Czechs would mean Croatia should go through on goal differential
We need to go hard.
Send Prosinecki a box of wine before the match, and he’ll be too sloshed to manage his team.
The team will improve drastically just by subbing in Stanisic for Sosa, and Modric for Mario Pasalic.
Hopefully Budimir gets a full match.
Don’t forget a carton of Marlboro’s as well for ZUTI!
Judging by that stomach of his, I’m guessing we sent him two boxes of wine.
Žuti may as well stay in Zagreb. He might get fired.
Montenegro away could be a bit tricky.
