Croatia will be hosting the Euro 2018 Handball tournament starting Friday, January 12th and ending with the championship game on Sunday, January 28th in Zagreb.
The Croatian ‘Cowboys’, as they have been nicknamed, open up in Split at the Spaladium against Serbia on Friday in their Group A opener. Sweden and Iceland round out the other two teams in the group.
Spaladium Arena has a capacity just under 11,000 and it should be packed to capacity for the match versus Serbia on Friday.
More to come on the 2018 Euro Handball tournament throughout the week…
Croatia beat Serbia in handbaĺl. Good job boys!
Crowd was great, really into it! Awesome atmosphere
I have seen the team up and close a couple years back in Zadar as they were getting ready for Brazil.
Half of them 2 meters and taller.
They are leaving millions of dolllars on the table by NOT playing basketball.
Handball clubs get the boys early and DO NOT allow them ever to play basketball.
I like all sports Croatians compete and win.
But handball is hurting the families abitlity to make real money and the HKS to dominate euro hoops.
Not to mention second tier basketball players can also come to play in college and receive a degree and master English, both of which will serve them.
All good.
No matter sport with our neighbors …
