The first yellow on Brkljaca was not a yellow, but I think the 2nd foul was worthy of a yellow. Need to see it in real time again and not is slow motion.
@ Tom….
Disappointing game for me. Brkljaca and Hajduk need to be smarter and not do those type of dumb fouls. Brkljaca knew he had a yellow and there was no need for him to commit that second foul. Just dumb.
Dinamo on the other hand has to do much better up a man for over an hour. For a team in the CL, I would expect more.
Overall, from a hajduk point of view you have to be happy getting a tie after playing down a man.
I think dinamo has to be happy as well. No loss in Poljud is always a good result.
All I'm saying is there are times when a referee simply has to let the players play unless, of course, there are flagrant fouls being committed. This ref seemed to determined to impose his authority when it really wasn't required.
Anyway, I'll stop whining about the referring now.
correct me if im wrong, my stream isnt good cant beleive harvatska tv isnt showing the game! but wasent that Brkljaca that had that late takle on vida, if it was that was basically three yellow's in 15 minutes! Either way player should be smarter!
Brkljaca barely touched the Dinamo player's foot. Naturally that player started rolling around as though he had a broken leg. In the end, I wouldn't argue too much with that foul but he really did nothing to pick up the first yellow card.
In my mind, if Bebek was determined to be consistent he would have awarded Simunic a card for his foul on Sharbini outside the Dinamo box.
Ziva, what about this story line? "Ten-man Hajduk beat Dinamo's A team?"
Poor officiating has already become a factor in the derby within 15 minutes. Brkljaca's first yellow card was very, very weak and even the second looked highly questionable. What a shame.
After watching his coaches interview, Jelavic got around a 9 mill bid on the last day of the transfer window. It may be a stretch, but could it be another Modric saga in Scotland? Maybe all this terrible play is due to the fact he can't get out of the SPL.
I just want to thank the CSR crew for visiting Canada. It was fantastic having the crew here for the Israel-Croatia game. Keep up the great work guys and I hope you come back to TO in the very near future.
I agree with alot of what you said, i too think jelavic is better than kalinic and is a better finisher than mandzukic, i also think that in my opinion almost any striker we put in will struggle, as our mid dont do a good job creating chances for our striker's either by crosses, its hard to create chances if your always having slow bulid up, easy for defence to mark strikers when the play is so slow!
When playing for his club teams he exudes that air of confidence. He has that look like he is going to score and sure enough he does! I don't see that when he plays for our team yet. Although..
@TheGoldenChild
"Once the game opened up more, Jelavic got the ball in a few times, and had 3 really good chances. He should have at least scored on 1."
Absolutely!
He had two goals called back for offsides in our Euro 2012 qualifications. The header against Israel which would have made it 4 – 1, and the goal that would have broken the deadlock against Greece at the start of our campaign.
He has been a disappointent, there is no doubt. A major disappointment, not as of yet I don't think. I think you are right, give him a little more time. The reason I suggest this is that he shows so many glimpses of what he can do, he is so close. Let's see if he can find the magic he has with his club teams. He is trying way to hard and just has to find his rhythm and stay calm. Easier said than done evidently. 🙂
1) Only 2 "fans" made any sense in the video…one specifically is the guy who said "Pravi Eduardo". The guy was right. We saw the "old" Eduardo and we score 3 goals.
The guy in the Dr. Seuss hat and the rest of the sheep had answers solely blaming the coach for some of their struggles. The fact is that Modric is the only world-class striker on the squad and the rest of the players are not as good as the one's we had in the past.
2) Dejan Savicevic is a whackjob. He was a great player in his day, but he's a nut. Kranjcar gets the team in 2nd place with limited talent and he's out?….what am I missing here?
A lot of the blame also rests on Jelavic, as he's been a big disappointment. He doesn't suck, but I think he's trying to hard.
I always say, "he needs more time", which is somewhat true, but he needs to focus on his strengths. That's going to take an effort from his and the midfield to understand where he's comfortable receiving the ball. He's NOT a stop and dribble guy, as we saw in the last game. They kept giving him the ball too early, and he didn't know what to do with himself. He's been trying to do way too much.
Finally, Eduardo is better at what Croatia are suited for. (which he can learn from) He has a connection with his midfielders. Once he delivers the ball back to his midfielders, he knows exactly where Luka/Srna want him to be.
I'd give him 2 more games to see if he can prove himself. I think he can be better than Kalinic and Mandzukic, as he's good in the air, strong, and can finish(for the most part)
I was just talking about this with my cousin, another huge fan. The way Croatia plays, versus the way his other teams have played is what is not making him as effective, IMO.
He's the go to man at Rangers. He scores mostly from balls off the run(more of a one way style), balls in the air, or poaching. These are all things that Croatia don't do well. We like to slowly bring the ball up through the mid. Our left side is weak on the cross, and Srna and Corluka have been not so great on getting the ball into the box. Finally, we really don't have that many shots on goal.
The last games we've seen a lot of bad crosses, midfield not connecting with our forwards at all, and a high concentration of play sent to Srna and Corluka's side, instead of punching it up the gut.
Once the game opened up more, Jelavic got the ball in a few times, and had 3 really good chances. He should have at least scored on 1.
At Rangers and in Vienna, he had a lot more confidence, as he was the go to guy. This alone is going to improve your game no matter what.
"You might be able to catch it via myp2p.eu or just google Live streaming Hajduk vs Dinamo. After digging around you should be able to find something."
Thank you.
TGC, what are thoughts/impressions on the development and future potential of Mr. Jelavić? I don't know if it is just me, but in the games he has started and played in he seems so fired up/trying so hard, that he gets ahead of himself. You mentioned on a differnt thread that you were a big fan. Just curious about your thoughts on him as a player.
How about the Hajduk/Dinamo game tomorrow? Someone has asked me to get them either pay or free streaming sites for them. What are the best sites/options?

I cannot wait to see the BBB in action tomorrow in Split. There's a reported 3500-4000 coming in from all over Croatia, BiH and all over the diaspora. I wish I had the money to be able to go and witness Poljud all over again like last time.
I think Dinamo will win as it is a far better side but Hajduk is always favored in Split. The Croatian media has done a fine job of trying to turn the north against the south even more.
These type of derby games usually are ugly and end up in a tie. I've seen too many bad ones to count with over 50 fouls between both teams.
If I were dinamo, I would do the following to continue winning the mental war over hajduk.
Dinamo should bench all of their regular starters and rest them for the game against Real Madrid. Make a public announcement at one of the press conferences that we (dinamo) are focused on the game against Real and we will use our "B" squad against Hajduk. At that point, all the pressure in the world falls on hajduk to go out on the field and show they can beat Dinamo "b". If they were to lose, it would be embarassing for Hajduk and if they were to win, Dinamo can turn around and say it was our "B" team.
Since this is CroNatian Sports Report; I'd like to make a comment about tennis – a sport of which my interest in has increased lately. I heard (the devout adherent of our established religion of political correctness) Roger Federer say, when asked about New York: how the "lights inspire him" – I wanted to vomit after I heard that. No wonder why the NY liberals "adore" him so. Maybe we can bring the 25 million mexicans on food stamps to NY so "the lights can inspire them" to get off public charity. pffffft. The destruction of this vile religion is fast approaching.
i also must admit kranjcar should be a better coach in terms of tactics and know how to use strength of each player. In btw, i still remember the time he took over NT. @allen19, I know, WTF were the Montenegrins expecting?
On another note, I think it's complete BS that Italy is gifted 3 points over Serbia because of an unruly Serb-horde-invasion of Italy. If I'm Italian, I don't take that CHARITY; I say let's play both games against Serbia in Italy and bar any Serbs from the stadium. In this way, the Serb federation and supporters get plenty punished while keeping the integrity of 'earning the points' in place. Surely it's not that difficult finding a replacement date for the game that was canceled.
@Anonymous Your right about Z.Kranjcar not selecting edurado. I couldnt understand why he didnt pick him either. But i do believe he was and is a better coach than bilic, because he did know how to get more from the players he had on offer, and i think he is a better tactician than bilic.

AJMO BOYSi!
Ultimately, I think Dinamo will win the league with ease, so I do think they could afford to do this.
Can Hajduk win tomorrow??? Sure.
Interesting to see the reaction Simunic will receive after everything that took place in late August.
Wow, I hope Jurcic doesn't get wind of your suggestion….
In all seriousness, a hajduk win would leave them just two points out of fist. Can dinamo really afford to play games like that?
These type of derby games usually are ugly and end up in a tie. I've seen too many bad ones to count with over 50 fouls between both teams.

Ziva,
'Any predictions for tomorrow's big game? No, not the Toronto Argos at BC Lions… hajduk v dinamo of course.
Tomorrow's game marks the return of Ljubo Milicevic. I think he'll add some grit to the hajduk back four.
Unfortunately, I don't believe Ante Vukusic is anywhere near ready to return.
Cico Kranjcar also does one more thing much better than Bilic. He drinks much better than him. Dude is a drunk.
Since this is CroNatian Sports Report; I'd like to make a comment about tennis – a sport of which my interest in has increased lately. @AZ, the 07'-08' team's performance under Bilic was far superior than under Z. Kranjicar; granted, the talent was probably that much better too.
i also must admit kranjcar should be a better coach in terms of tactics and know how to use strength of each player.
In btw, i still remember the time he took over NT. The players at that time are not as well known and good as compared to the present times, in particular their midfield and strikers. Branimir (CSR's roving reporter)
So, will you be the envy of every Croatian soccer fan and claim your place in Split tomorrow to watch Joe Simunic's baptism of fire?
That was great! man does branimir know how to pick the right people to interview or what. Keep the camera rolling, cant wait for the next clips.
Kranjcar was the worst coach Croatia had. Why didn't he ever select Dudu?
Are you serious!!!! Wow I hope Montenegro doesn't qualify. I was rooting for them so much to qualify but now the underdog story is over for me. All he did was put them on the map, unbelievable. Total slap in the face..I need to go find a new 2nd team for Europe now.. Bosnia?
Zlatko Kranjcar sacked at Montenegro
Bravo Branimir!
Please keep this kind of content coming! The more in Hrvatski the better. One day 'll be able to keep up with you guys.
Also, what's the ETA on the new CSR shirts? I want to wear one to CroatiaFest up in Seattle this October. Gotta spread the word about the site.
great work Brane!
I really like the one guy, we shouldn't get pushed around. The jews pushed us around, that has to stop. That's one thing I love about Klasnic, he doesn't take shit from ANYONE.
They do not allow ANY filming of game action as HRT has the exclusive. The access CSR had was normal sideline access you get as a photographer on the field. I think the next CSR shirt should simply say "fajter"
Very nicely done Branimir!!!!
Awesome vid guys, the Eduardo part after the national anthem is hilarious!
Did they allow you to film during the whole game, or just the beginning? Pretty cool of them to give you that access either way. What I love about Hrvati is that the celebrity element is nowhere near as big of a deal as it is in other parts of the world. I doubtEnglishSoccerReport.com (if it existed) would be able to get anywhere near the players at that point.
Kudos guys, well done!
Nice job Branimir – @Dukic – I heard that guy's application to join the BBB was rejected. 🙂
I agree Dukic, and the guy was spot on with not having a fighter. Vukojevic is the only guy on our team that's show some real spunk in my opinion. In the last game, Jelavic got a first touch on the ball, got sandwiched, and Vuki came right back and gave one of the Israeli players a knock to remember.
sweet branimir. love the first shots. and also 3rd to last guy interview. was that ziva istina?
