This week, Croatian fans were delighted to hear that the Euro 2016 qualifying match between Croatia and Italy had been moved to Split. Some fans proclaimed that Mamic and the federation finally realized that Maksimir was a piece of junk, while others said that it was just a move to quell supporters in Split who were tired of how the federation was being run. What we should have known all along…. the move was all about MONEY.
News came out Wednesday that the Croatia vs Italy match would be played in front of nobody. Convenient news from UEFA came out today that stated:
“The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) met today and announced the following decision in relation to various incidents that occurred during the European Qualifiers Group H match between Croatia and Norway, which was played in Zagreb on 28 March.
Croatian Football Association (HNS)
Incidents: Racist behaviour of supporters – Art. 14 of UEFA Disciplinary Regulations. Setting off/throwing of missiles and fireworks – Art. 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations
Decision: The CEDB has ordered the Croatian Football Association to play its next UEFA competition match as host association behind closed doors (against Italy on 12 June). The Croatian Football Association has also been fined €50,000.
The association has also been fined €5,000 for the setting off of fireworks.”
No people in the stadium, means no money coming in and tons of operational costs to hold the match.
Are we surprised that Mamic and company got the jump on moving the game before the news got out? I wonder how they knew this was going to happen before the official word was given.
Blame the fans……what can you expect I’m happy that this is happening as more penalties are handed down on the fans the police will do a better job stopping flares and hooligans from ruining Croatia’s reputation.
Ziva, you have an ego the size of the Jadran….don’t take yourself so seriously.
Nikola Kalinic was talked up as a Croatian future star was a EPL bust. Should organise Dijaspora Hrvati soccer tournament for American Croats, Aussie Croats, German Croats, South American Croats.
Children you need to grow up. You act like Croatia is the only fucked up country in the world. Hell I can list off a few European countries that are worse than Hrvatska in any number of categories. Croatian have enmity in our blood am get ourselves because no one really knows how many neighbors were killing neighbors during the ww1 and ww2 periods in the former Yugoslavia republics that kind of a reality, that bloodshed creates a meme that passes down the generations so that you may not know why some Croats don’t seem to generally get along but you feel it, like an intuition. War and killing causes this.
Look around you. The world is apparently changing for the better if your rich and secure and for worse if your poor or middle class. The stuff that’s coming down the pipeline is truly the stuff of fiction.
All I can say is relax, be smart, and don’t give in.

You don’t happen to be one of these non-hrvat speaking disapori hrvati?????? And that is the reason you are angry or mad????? Now use that frustration and go learn the language.
Nothing more comical in my eyes than non-hrvat speaking disapori hrvati celebrating 10. Travanj (thats April 10 for some of you).
Who is driving a wedge?????? If anything, I have unified this website more than anyone else has. Are you not UNITED against me. I have said it more than once, but it is worth repeating, I am OK in carrying the “kriz” on this site for all of you.
I am alsways willing to help and explain the situation to anyone who is willing to learn.

guys on the website like ziva, who claim to be ‘ombudsman’ for all things croatian bahhaha and neanderthals like Ante slighting posters at every chance, all the while driving wedge between them (true croats hahahah) and others who might not know language as well, not up to date with croatian politic and it’s history

I’ll just take that as a joke that you compared NYT to Fox News. Thanks for the laugh and happy Friday.
@MartinHrvat,
Well said sir. I have a Japanese friend that has served in Vietnam for good ol USA. Im not sure if this was before or after he got his papers. He is embarrassed to say that his tax money has financed the past couple of wars. Yes, a little depressing when you think about it but 90% of the people in this world are puppets.
The line that I will never forget, when someone praises a former US leader, “yes, put him on Mt Rushmore with the rest of the killers.”
Right when you think ziva it’s starting to make good points he brings up Fox News and it all gets shot to shit.
And “Za Dom Spremni”,has nothing to do with racism, fascism, or any other kind of “ism.” It’s kinda like comparing a chicken to a coconut.
ZDS is nothing more than a patriotic rallying cry used to galvanize Hrvati. And it works quite well I might add.
“freedom costs a buck-o’-fiiiiiive…”
It is too bad we don’t have an equivalent to Fox News in Croatia. The fine folks at Fox News defend freedom and who would lead the charge in explaining “za dom….spremni”. The problem is we have too many in Cro wo get their news from the equivalency of the ny times, msnbc, etc….
@ anonymous
“Can someone explain to me what Za Dom Spremni has to do with soccer..?? A lot of you on this site really need to get a fucking life…..!!”
ZDS is a nationalist statement. And guess what international football is a nationalist exercise in itself. If you so anti-nationalism then you should equally be against the very existence of national teams in the first place. Now fuck off.
To all the comments above regarding a divided Croatia; colonization of Croatia; removal of nationalism; media headlines etc…I simply ask the following and all will be answered: Who owns the Croatian media? The media influences and alters ones thoughts and therefore purposely creates a divided Croatia. “Divide and conquer,” create chaos and a nation becomes easier to control. Indebt the people and what Croatia do they care for if they can’t put food on the table for their families? Multiculturalism and allowing immigration is what dilutes nationalism and eliminates the potential for the people to unite as one and avoids revolutions…sites like this one are “fished/trolled” by users who purposely insert comments to determine who lies where in the thought process…data is stored on all we do online or on our phones…all comments can be tied back to a computer’s IP address…there’s a much larger world UDBA then most think…intelligence is not what world leaders want…as it’s easier to control fools. Also for the record…this is not only a Croatian problem…this exists worldwide. Divide the people, create chaos and control…it’s quite ingenious when you really think about it…just sad for the 99% of us in the world that suffer as puppets to the system. We blame and make fun of “puppets” like Suker, when we are all puppets of some puppetshow…in fact our state was called a “puppet state” because historically the Croatian people have been used as nothing more than puppets in the larger world regime. With a large enough paycheck, even one’s nationalism can be bought…this is sadly what happened to many in Croatia and of course anywhere I the world…anyways I am just babbling on the sad state of world events…food for thought for anyone who wants to really think deeply…
“ZDS is a facist greeting. How ever much you dijaspora people would like it not to be. If you love Croatia so much stop spreading fascist shit around and go live and pay your taxes in Croatia. Oh no it’s too comfortable in Canada, Usa, Australia. You’re pathetic the lot of you and fully hated by real Croatian people.”
Douchebag the fans making the ZDS chants at games are local Hrvati not diaspora Hrvati, so does that mean ‘real Croatian people’ hate themselves? Idiot
^ ^
It’s a freedom of speech issue.
Those Charlie Hebdo cunts can make fun of race and religion and have the backing of the western world but we can’t chant something that’s been said since the 16th century?
JE SUIS SIMUNIC!
@u boj
Nothing new to report on the trial
Can someone explain to me what Za Dom Spremni has to do with soccer..?? A lot of you on this site really need to get a fucking life…..!!
And I have to agree with Maminjo’s and Sunje’s posts regarding the “ZDS” chant.
I too can’t wait to move back, I’m itching to do some work in the Polje, eat good food and drink homemade vino.
Lots of good posts regarding the subject. It broke my heart when I found out the match would be played behind closed doors. This match would’ve given those that live in the Dalmatian hinterlands (the highlanders, honest simple folk) a chance to see our beloved Vatreni.
What will the match be like behind closed doors??? Will there at least be some 50 VIPs cheering them on? Mamic and Suker better make some noise!
Last I looked, most of the people chanting “Za Dom Spremni” in Maksimir were born in Croatia and pay their taxes in Croatia and as for the “dijaspora” Cros moving back, I know 15 people who have moved back to Croatia since the start of the war and still live there to this day. Both my parents moved back last year as well and I will be moving there by Christmas time, I’m just waiting for my house to sell over here and once that happens, I’ll be in Croatia. As for the people there, most people I have come across have no problems with dijaspora Hrvati and are happy to see us returning back to Hrvatska. As for fascists? Whats the difference between them and those that occupied Croatia from 1918-1941 and then from 1945-1991?
Markic,
Let’s stop the hate-filled arguing, and let’s look at this objectively. Let’s just take a step back, and look at the timeline of events:
1. The Za Dom chant was used in the battle of Siget when Nikola Zrinjski defended the Hungarians against the advancing Ottoman Turks.
This took place in 1566.
2. Pavao Ritter Vitezović (a German-Croat historian) wrote a book about the Battle of Siget, and he made mention of the Za Dom Spremni chant in his book.
This took place in 1684.
3. Ivan Zajc (famous Croatian composer) composed an opera about this same battle with, again, the same Za Dom slogan being used in it.
This took place in 1876.
4. The Ustasa during WW2, used a variation of the chant “Za poglavnika i za dom spremni”.
This, of course, took place in 1945…much later than the three instances I just posted above prior to that.
All FOUR of these events above occurred. Nobody will dispute this, no matter which side of the argument you are on.
Now you tell me, objectively, do you honestly believe that something which occurred several centuries later takes ‘precedence’ over what happened before?
Puši kurac, Srbine.
ZDS is a facist greeting. How ever much you dijaspora people would like it not to be. If you love Croatia so much stop spreading fascist shit around and go live and pay your taxes in Croatia. Oh no it’s too comfortable in Canada, Usa, Australia. You’re pathetic the lot of you and fully hated by real Croatian people.
@ U boj
Why you hatin’?
Agree with the lack of spine in our Savez and players but come on, a Serb in charge of FARE?!
What’s next, Putin grand marshaling a pride parade?
@maminjo– You wish you were Sunje
@Sunje– Keep those posts coming, btw have you heard anything about the Perkovic trial in Njemacka.
No more backwards than having a clown like Puppet Suker lead the savez.
The problem isn’t FARE, the problem is the lack of a spine by the savez and even our players.
A Serb is in charge at FARE?!!
How bass ackwards is that?!
Looks like Montengro got fined and will play their next home game in an empty stadium because of the flares they threw which it the Russian goalie. Russia was also awarded 3 points but they too were fined for their fans behavior. From the BBC:
Uefa has ordered Montenegro to play their next home tie in an empty stadium and pay a 50,000 euros (£36,000) fine.
…
The Russian Football Union was also fined 25,000 euros (£18,000) for improper conduct by its supporters, which included the throwing of flares and other missiles.
@Sunje
I wish you were right about Karamarko, but I think he’s just a pizda like the rest of them.
He never worked in his life and went straight into politics. He was Stipe Mesić’s right hand man for a long time. His sole intention furthering his own career, and barely gave Kitarović a chance to speak at her own inauguration.
All these things add up to a status quo leader, who won’t really change anything. I hope I’m wrong about him.
I’ve heard all these players names pronounced like below before:
SI-mick
PRO-sin-neck-I
SU-ker
Mand-zu-kick
Ko-VA-sick
Su-ba-sick
Croatian Americans: Butchering the native language, one player at a time.
you don’t have to tell me anything about FARE. I pointed them well over a year ago and some of the people on here were saying I had no clue what I was talking about.
When I call out people for not knowing the language or history, I get attacked. Well, know some of you non-hrvat speaking diaspora hrvati can understand why I call you out. Its people like you who cant speak the language or understand its history to positively explain the current situation in Cro. God forbid if some of you were asked to provide clarificaton about “za dom….spremni”. I’m afraid some of you couldn’t even pronouce “za dom….spremni”. But, keep on wearing thye jersey of a player you can’t even pronounce correctly.
When Tomislav Karamarko replaces Zoran Milanovic as Prime minister, he and president Grabar-Kitarovic will set up a proper National security council which will analyze the “work” of thousands of supposedly Non-governmental organizations laced with anti-Croatian elements.
First they will pull the plug on their finances, and Zoran Pusic and Zoran Stevanovic (just to name a few) will have to look for new lines of work. Currently, being an anti-Croatian subversive element pays extremely well.
Think about this Zoran Stevanovic guy. A Serb from Rijeka (probably the son of a JNA officer that colonized the area during Tito’s reign) who runs a FARE “organization” of which he is probably the single member; and his job (his job!) is to tattle-tale on all things Croatian and promote a Yugoslav/Serb version of events.
He is just one of thousands who are absurdly and paradoxically financed by the Croatian government. Something like that is, for instance, impossible in the state of Israel. Time to start taking notes from the Israelis and time to start implementing many of their national security policies.
Presently, much of what I’ve written is wishful thinking, as I do not have the faith to believe that Karamarko and Grabar-Kitarovic will even consider such an approach to national security. Let’s hope they prove us wrong.
However, if what I’ve written doesn’t come to pass, things will continue to spiral out of control – and Croats will continue to ask themselves just what the hell is wrong with Croatia?
I would also like to see media outlets such as INDEX (the most frequented portal in Croatia that owes the Croatian government millions in back-taxes) shut down, and its proprietor, Matija Babic, jailed. As it is nothing but a generator of anti-Croatian propaganda.
If “small” things like that begin to occur in Croatia, then the country will begin to heal. If not, things will perpetuate and shit will get ugly.
FYI: Good news today, as the current regime has dropped its intent to change Croatian license plates. This is an election year, so apparently they realized they’ve over-stepped their bounds.
But they’re going to lose the elections either way.
@Ziva, your last post is a clear and correct summation of the current state of affairs.
@majstore
I thought I was Sunje
Here is the problem……..our own savez, political leadership and UEFA NGOs (FARE) who monitor the game for these type of issues all say “za dom….spremni” is racist. Hell, FARE has even said the chant “Mamicu, Cigane” is racist.
So, if they all agree “za dom….spremni” is racist and the fans chanted it during the game (which they did), what more is there to this.
Now, before some of you go off the wagon, please note I am not saying “za dom….spremni” is racist. It is not and as someone who lives the “za dom….spremni” lifestyle and promotes all that is good about lipa nasa, I advocate its use. However, the people calling the shots say it is racist. We want to play in UEFA event, right? So, unfortanetly we are going to have to listen and obey their rules. If not, we will get punished.
So, you might think it is unfair and they don’t understand what “za dom….spremni” means. You are correct. Outside of inviting them into the confines of the fortified basement and experiencing firsthand what is a “za dom….spremni” lifestyle, I’m not sure what can be done.
Our own savez doesn’t want the chant used, our own political leadership doesn’t want it used. So, if they are not going to do anything to advocate for it or explain what it really means, there is nothing that can be done.
So, what we have left is when the fans revolt over idiotic leadership from the likes of Puppet Suker and Mamic.
Ante, I think its the North American in me thinking this because those things would never be allowed in any stadium or arena in the USA or Canada. I know what you mean about atmosphere but, I think a good atmosphere can be created without them. Plus, not bringing them into the stadium is at least a simple way of getting UEFA off our backs as well. I love the quote you put up and its an appropriate one.
@Ziva Istina…yes, the problem is the fact that our “vlada” who hates the fact Croatia exists put into office people like Jovanovic as the Minister of Sport and then supports FARE and the person who runs it. What UFA should ask rather than blindly follow these people and hang on every word of theirs us, what’s their motives? Why don’t they look at their backgrounds and then work from there when it comes to passing judgment. Let’s put it this way, the same time these people complained about “Za Dom Spremni,” Japanese opera singers were singing “Za Dom Srpemni” during their performance of Nikola Subic Zrinski so why not then ban that opera for “racism?” Let’s not forget, this same Jovanovic and this same FARE group had “Zapamtite Vukovar” removed from Maksimir and what that has to do with “hate” and “racism” I don’t know.
This column was soo bad. Hvala.
Vatrena cast,
To answer your question, I echo MelbCro’s answer. It was perfect. Svaki dan
Stevie,
I was writing my last post while you were writing yours so I didn’t see what you wrote. One thing I have to disagree with you: lighting a baklja isn’t cool, it’s f’ing magical if done the right way. It can boost the atmosphere even more but at the same time it can ruin it. Once you smell that smoke and see the actual flare, it’s pretty awesome.
@Stevie…..nothing to do with flares. This is all about “za dom…..spremni”.
The serb who runs FARE reported it. UEFA finds him to be very credible and he has support from the Cro govt.
Stevie,
Good posts. Another good quote taken from the Declaration of Independence that applies:
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object envinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
If this doesn’t apply to Croatian soccer, I don’t know what does. It is our right, it is our duty.
Bog i Hrvati
Za Dom Spremni
As I mentioned earlier, I didn’t watch the game but, I will on ESPN3 as they archive the games. I am starting to get the feeling this has more to do with the flares that were thrown than the “Za Dom” chants. If flares were thrown on the pitch or anywhere near the pitch, then shame on this fans who did it. I don’t understand why anyone would light off flares or fireworks inside a stadium, there’s nothing cool about that at all.
For those of you that were able to watch the game, whether on tv, the internet, or live, were there any flares that were thrown onto the pitch or close to it?
On the bright spot, we went up two spots on the FIFA rankings 🙂

Soccer-Croatia to appeal against fan ban for Italy qualifier
Reuters
By Zoran Radosavljevic
ZAGREB, April 9 (Reuters) – Croatia will appeal against UEFA’s decision ordering them to play their Euro 2016 qualifier at home to Italy behind closed doors in June after crowd trouble last month, the national FA (HNS) president Davor Suker said on Thursday.
“We will appeal to UEFA. We’re simply devastated by this decision. This is a huge (financial) loss for us, for our tourism, for promotion of Croatia,” Suker said after a meeting of the HNS held outside the capital.
“We have to find the culprits and punish them. We already have footage to identify them… We know what (UEFA’s) next moves will be: deduction of points and a ban from major international tournaments,” added Suker, Croatia’s all time top scorer who was elected to UEFA’s executive committee in March.
UEFA’s disciplinary panel lost patience with Croatia after racist behaviour and the setting off and throwing of missiles and fireworks by their fans during the Group H match against Norway at Zagreb’s Maksimir stadium on March 28.
“For us, the game with Norway was a step forward. Only six firecrackers went off, but it obviously wasn’t enough,” Suker said.
UEFA, which did not give any further details, also fined the Croatia federation 50,000 euros ($53,925).
The match was played in a partially closed stadium following trouble at Croatia’s 1-1 draw with Italy in November. Croatia fans twice interrupted the match at Milan’s San Siro stadium by throwing flares on to the pitch. (Reporting by Zoran Radosavljevic; editing by Justin Palmer)
Ziva, please define “ZDS lifestyle” for the uninitiated.
I’m fascinated. Hvala.
Sunje = Prle IMO
Either way, one of the few posters on here worth reading.
Super Likan the hate is disturbing. Who is this Sunje clown? War? Sunje I bet we need to set up the camps again right? Serbs and all subversives right? All is talk is as pathetic as these harsh penalties against the Repka.

so what frustrates me the most about things like this is the simplified headlines you will read: croatian fans banned for racist/nazi behavior . it portrays the country and its people as quite negatively when the vast majority of people shouting that slogan do not have any intention of being racist or nazi supporters .

People need to understand the EU and the powers that be HATE Nationalism with a passion. Nationalism and PRIDE reduces their control. Why do you think they’re flooding Europe with low IQ muslims and Africans, there’s not a worker shortage. They need to fabricate conflict so people don’t pay attention to what they’re really doing. Just ask the Ukrainians what happened to their gold immediately when the war started, it disappeared. This is about control, and money.
Interesting video I recommend people watch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALtJoILN3ks
plus notice, on Vecernji and sportskenovosti all the comments were turned off on the articles about this debacle.
on the bright side our players are used to playing in a pretty much empty stadium in zagreb, shouldn’t affect them too much.
What you guys have to understand is that Serbia’s long term plan was always to colonize Croatia. The Ustasha was a natural counter strike to that. Many people to this day still think that this colonization was a good thing and should be encouraged. We will always be under this threat. Serbian shits still refer to us as Serbians of the Catholic faith. Many Croats died fighting them before the 1990s war. I think 200 hundred were killed in Western Europe by that Yugo scum.
so much hate ..
To hell with all communist leftist dip shits. ZA DOM SPREMNI!!!!! SAY IT LOUD AND PROUD!!!
Just to show you that when Croatians do stand up with one voice, things quickly change. Though I am sure this might not have happened had it not been an election year with SDP possibly losing the Sabor and their power, none-the-less it did. Today, Minister Ostojic said that the Grb will be put back on the new license plates:
Ostojić: Na nove registarske tablice stavit ćemo hrvatski grb na mjesto gdje su trebale biti kockice, a s lijeve strane će biti oznaka EU.
When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny
So, one person thinks Puppet Suker was supporting Suspension Joey when he said we play in the honor of Simunic……..ok, keep thinking like that.
I can’t believe what is happening. UEFA is truly showing how tyrannical it is. How can they issue such a draconian fine to the HNS and punish the Croatian people over a simple chant? This is utter oppression and there is absolutely no legal recourse. Either accept the fine or get punished further.
It is part of our heritage and it certainly doesn’t mean we are Nazis. I agree with Ziva, that FARE is probably to blame. They obviously have lots of pull up high. Simunic opened this door though and set the precedent for the condemnation of the chant and he litigated to the highest possible level. So now, when you play in events run by these organizations they just need to hear a peep of ZDS and they can refer to the ruling that deemed it “racist”. He played into the hands of those seeking to ruin us. We are FUCKED. The fans will always chant this and we will be disqualified eventually. We may as well turn in our UEFA and FIFA memberships now and start our own.
@Stevie,
“But, this all reminds me of what the late college basketball coach, Jerry Tarkanian when he was UNLV once said. He said, “The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky that they put Cleveland State on probation.” Meaning, the NCAA goes after the small guy to show they’re doing something but turns a blind eye to the big boys that bring in the money. Do you think that Italy would ever play a home game in an empty stadium? How about Spain? How about France? Let’s not forget that when the Simunic thing happened, there were members of the current French national team who had pictures out there of them giving a fascist type salute that some comedian over there uses and nothing happened, only to Anelka and he is older and not good enough for their national team.”
I agree. Good stuff!
@Melbcro,
I agree again. I blame the HNS, Croatian government, but most importantly, the croatian people living in croatia. They are more divided than the diaspora. Some people will blame the commies or the yugos, but in the end its our people that only stand up when their backs are up against the wall.
I am so disappointing in seeing our people sell everything to the Turks, the germans, the russians, whoever. It breaks my heart to see our people work for six months and never get payed. “Za Dom Spremni” ? They don’t give a shit. The one’s that do give a shit are the one’s that only have 5 kuna in their pocket for a cup of coffee.
Until this changes, nothing will change. Yugo, commie, HDZ, SDP, it will all be the same.
Thanks Denis
“I think the only way to solve this problem is to have the national team and the savez supporting Za Dom Spremni and sharing the true meaning with the world”
Unfortunately such a thing is too late I think. Us trying to educate people on ZDS won’t work because people simply won’t believe us due our name being so smeared over the years. And of course the worst part of it is that its a smear campaign perpetrated by our own.
@Melbcro,
I agree with you on Simunic.
I take off to Vegas for a couple of days and all hell breaks loose. I return with holes in my pockets and spent the last hour reading 122 comments. I like it I like it.
I really don’t know where to start.
I think the only way to solve this problem is to have the national team and the savez supporting Za Dom Spremni and sharing the true meaning with the world.
However, this will never happen.
1) Players are told to shut the f up by the HNS and their club teams. Players don’t want to put their jobs on the line.
Like many of you have said in the past, no one supported Simunic. Maybe there were players ready to support but they had to keep their mouth shut. Those same players should gather the troops and stay united on this.
2) HNS did nothing about SImunic. HNS will continue to bend over for a few $$
3) Suker will bend over for UEFA. I can even see him turning in a couple of the fans to look good in front of UEFA.
4) Croatians living in Croatia are split on ZDS. Not only are Croatians living in Croatia not united but they stick it to one another. Its easy to conquer a country when its people are at war with each other. Commies, ustasa, yugos, hdz, sdp, pro ZDS, list goes on and on.
For the first time in a long time, I think the only way to changes is to crash the party. burn baby burn.
The savez, Suker, Mamic, and the players don’t give a damn. Why should we? Rack up the fines. Get disqualified. Who wants to follow the national team if we get the watch the game with tape on our mouths?
@Ziva,
“First, there was or is no confirmation the game is or will take place in split.”
Yes, this is true. If I didn’t lose that $$$ in Vegas I would bet that the game will still be in ZG.
nothing you say explains how it is selfish. You saying he did it knowing he would essentially fuck himself over. That description is antitheses to the notion of selfishness. If anything that sounds selfless, taking a stand when you know you will be vilified for.
I thought Davor Suker is also a Ustasa and that he did defend Australac Joe Simunic going by these comments.
In 1996, the FSS was reminded, “Suker was photographed smiling on the grave of the Ustase leader and war criminal, Ante Pavelic, in Madrid”. He also said, Linta went on to explain, that Croatia were playing at the 2014 World Cup “in the honour of Joe Simunic”, the footballer banned for 10 matches by Fifa for shouting the infamous Ustase slogan “Za dom – spremni!”
@melbcro……sure it was. Suspension Joey is no idiot. He removed himself away from his teammates to say a chant that he agrees with but knows it would be controversial. I don’t think it is controversial, after all I live the ” za dom….spremni” lifestyle, but he is a public figure and knew it would draw a reaction. And look what happens, none of his teammates, NONE, had his back. And some of you guys think they will come out and defend “za dom…..spremni”. Haha……that would mean counting their money time would be disturbed.
@Ziva – I am just breaking your balls, you seem to have good intentions based on your posts. You remind me of an old school Croat. I keep your ear to the ground more than I do. I feel like there is so much going on in Croatian news, hard to keep track of it all unless you make a conscious effort to read every day.
Simunic was not being selfish, what a ridiculous statement. Saying he has pure intentions but is at the same selfish is a contradiction, being selfish means you are making a conscious decision not to be of pure intent
@stevie…..what those French players did was not during a FIFA competition. What Suspension Joey did was a selfish act (pure intentions, but selfish) and during an official FIFA competition. Huge difference there.
I said this before………nazi are viewed in negative manner. Anything associated with nazis will be viewed in whatever manner. That is how the liberal media works. I blame so we of you for supporting the liberal agenda. Those of you who support the move and music industry are supporting the liberal agenda.
@croatian person…..huh? What did I write that you disagree with. Everything I comment about, I believin.
Some of you guys are repeating what I have said over the years. Yeah, no shit nobody has stepped up to defend the phrase or defend Suspension Joey.
And good luck getting any of our current players to offer a productive response.
Here is what would happen………liberal media would tear them apart and say they are defending a chant used by Nazi supporters. The clubs teams they play for would either fine them or tell them to shut the hell up. They won’t risk anything. You think any of these players want that type of attention?????? Good luck. Our mental midgets will never do that.
Thanks guys, and yeah, you’re right, guys like Modric and Srna should stand up and say something, especially someone like Modric who is well known.
But, this all reminds me of what the late college basketball coach, Jerry Tarkanian when he was UNLV once said. Let’s not forget that when the Simunic thing happened, there were members of the current French national team who had pictures out there of them giving a fascist type salute that some comedian over there uses and nothing happened, only to Anelka and he is older and not good enough for their national team.
As one Zen proverb states: “When one person tells a lie, countless others tell it as a truth.” That’s what’s happening here.
Indeed well said by Stevie
” When the Joe Simunic thing happened, not one person from the HNS stepped up to truly defend Joe and the chant.”
Just want to add to this that his shit-stain teammates like douchebag Srna also didn’t support him.
@Poglavnik & Stevie, well said.
^ ^
Well said Stevie!
i think Modric or Srna need to grow a pair and say something!
Srna cuz he’s the captian and Modric cuz he’s the most recognizable face on the team.
Or even Rakitic.
He’s a good leader with a lot of respect in world football.
Speaks lots of languages, and being born outside the country might even benefit him here.
Modric and Rakitic are 2 of the best in the world and they need to speak up!
Fuck Suker and the Savez, as players they need to take the fines, suspensions, whatever, just draw more attention to “za dom spremni” not being a bad thing.
These players are chicken shits!
Unfortunately, the HNS is to blame here as well. When the Joe Simunic thing happened, not one person from the HNS stepped up to truly defend Joe and the chant. Remember, Davor Suker stated that he doesn’t want to get involved and his reason? He didn’t want to ruffle feathers because he wanted a position with I believe FIFA one day (or UEFA but one of those two organizations for sure). Do you think that if Davor Suker went to the powers that be at both UEFA and FIFA and told them the real meaning behind Za Dom Spremni that they wouldn’t listen? Our problem as Croatians is simple, we have a slave mentality. We’re so used to other people ruling over us that we keep our heads down and have that mentality of “if we don’t talk about it people will forget.” Only, people don’t forget and we end up getting walked on when we should be fighting for what’s right. I don’t care if someone is on the right or left politically, as long as they love Croatia that’s what most important and everything else you can deal with on election day. The problem is, you have people who hate the fact that Croatia exists and those people are running the country.
Here’s the funny part in all of this, when Joe Simunic got suspended that same week, Japanese opera singers were in Dubrovnik singing “Za Dom” from the play “Nikola Subic Zrinski.” Even the Croatian courts, well before the Joe Siminic incident deemed Za Dom Spremni a historic Croatian salute.
I am 100% convinced that Ziva is not Croatian and is probably from a country that rhymes with Smrdija and is only on here to annoy people.
There is no other person on this site that bashes like Ziva. This website is supposed to bring diaspora/Croats together and Ziva seems to want anything but that.
From this point forward I propose no one respond to Ziva. This is the first and last post directed @ you, Ziva (I used to join chats to annoy people back in the day for good laughs as well, I will admit). You destroy all momentum on these chats.
But I will say, and I am serious, you are entertaining Ziva.
Say hello to everyone in Kosovo & Sandzak for us.
Big name, small name on a petition means nothing.
@Sunje – great posts. Just read your comments.
@ziva
Yeah look how far those people got us. The average joe doesnt like radical, and I’m sorry but people find it hard to side with bbb and torcida, they are labeled hooligans and that’s what people see them as. You start of small, a petition, you gather some big names on it, if they ignore us, we take it a step further. You start small and work your way up. We don’t need your approval. I don’t see you doing anything that could remotely help so your opinion and name calling doesn’t really matter.
VatreniHippie
@Ziva agreed with the whole people inside Cro comment.
Do you guys think if Cro missed a tournament because of more flares/sanctions etc the country and team might take notice and speak up? Or is the country run by too many Yugo/Commies for anything to happen?
This might sound crazy, but I feel like another war needs to happen to clean out the existing Yugo’s left over. Croatians would surely find a way to give the country away to someone else again.
The Croatian national team is the most successful of all (by a wiiiiiiide margin) the national teams of the former Yugoslav republics. Basically, every other nation of the former Yugoslavia is football shit.
There’s the reason why Croatia is brutally scrutinized. The national team proves that Croatia should be an independent nation (as God commands) as opposed to being a part of some former Yugoslavia or future Yugoslavia.
Of course, football isn’t the only reason why Croatia deserves (deserved) independence. Croatians and Croatia are superior to their neighbors and nemesis in many ways and forms, but football happens to get a lot of attention. Sport, culture, politics. It’s always in the spotlight.
Croatia is relatively successful, and thus always a target for her enemies. It’s as simple as that.
I wasn’t behind the joe petition or donation because that would have meant he admitted wrong doing.
“They could not, nor will they ever be able to kill our passion and our need to live in human dignity, in peace with ourselves and with the free nations of Europe. We have carved out that right at our first democratic elections. For this right and for our sacred land we are even ready to die” – Dr Franjo Tudjman
Za Dom spremni
To be fair VatrenaCast shooting down other peoples ideas is way more fun then making up your own.
@Sunje When will elections take place you think? Also josipovic is starting a new party with kosor,cacic,etc..
No, I propose something that will actually draw attention to the issue. You sound like some hippie. “hey man, sign this”.
You know what would get attention. Our fans going wild at a home game (where are those boys from Milan) and then having one of our actual players (maybe the captain, Mujo Srna) stick up for the country he represents and speaking with intelligence on what “za dom….spremni” actually means. Then people outside of Cro would kind of understand why they are willing to sacrifice a Euro 2016 appearance to stand up for their identity. They wont understand or pay attention to a bunch of names on a piece of paper……but, you go on believing in whatever it is that you believe in.
Joe Simunic petition I paid attention to because it had some resonance with me being Croatian/diaspora and all but yes I do get your point.
If you have enough people sign a petition and get into the hands of the right people it’s better than nothing.
What other option is there to speak back?
answer my question with another question eh? You’re the type of guy that shoots down every idea but never comes up with one himself.
@Poglavnik – I know what you mean bud. Some times I feel that crazy things need to happen for anyone to pay attention.
and what does a petition do????????
Let me ask you this, when was the last time you signed a petition or paid attention to a petition??????? I’ll flip over the hour glass a few times before I get an answer.
@ziva
So you propose nothing? I figured as much. You’re all talk and a coward. Youre not about the lifestyle like you say you are.
Good luck with your petition. How about voting the commie scum out of power first.
If you are upset because the soccer team cant play a true home match, then you should just kill yourself.
Now, if you are upset because this is only a small example of how being a true hrvat is becoming a bad thing in many people’s eyes, then please stay and contribute. It really wouldn’t bother me if the soccer team was banned. My life would go on. But, what does disturb me is how the leadership in Cro, the liberals, the progressives and the cultural elite are doing everything to remove the croatian identity. The soccer team is a small portion of that. Don’t be mad at what UEFA did, be mad at what the people inside of Cro are doing to the country.
We need to chant “Mi Hrvati” all fuckin game cuz no one in power has our backs anymore.
The BBB did it right when they torched the owners boxes.
More of that!
Forgive me for my ignorance, wasn’t a petition started on here before for Simunic? Can we not start one again (I think everyone and their mother from the diaspora would support it) and then try and contact any pro Croatian magazine, news station, radio etc etc to help it catch wind.
We have to at least try.
Sorry I will try to keep the posts shorter and too the point
@ Poglavnik – True, agreed. I do feel though that they are too big and “meaningful” a country. We have 4.5 million or so people. These small countries in South Eastern Europe make too much “noise/problems” for Fifa. They don’t like us plain and simple.
The flares, OK I get it. France, England, Italy, Spain, Germany etc they don’t have flares at their games. Club games are a completely different argument which we cannot compare.
But to not be able to say Za Dom Spremni? That’s a load of BS, all because some Serb has his non profit and rats us. We all know and can see he is masking his “fairness for eliminating racism/homophobia” as a way to destroy anything Croatian.
Fifa will only go buy whatever Croatia tells them and a good point was made earlier, no one in power in Cro has stepped forward and said something which is what we need. We can still make some positive noise and start a petition. Where do we begin?
Voting out Josipovic was a good step. But it’s not enough. The Milanovic government must fall. And it must fall soon.
But when HDZ replaces SDP, HDZ needs to be held accountable. HDZ has a Sanaderesque tendency to buckle to Yugoslav and Serbian whims once it gains power. If they sell out again, there will be blood-shed.
Old articles, still just a reminder who this loser is.
http://www.braniteljski-portal.hr/Novosti/DRUSTVO/EVO-Tko-je-Zoran-Stevanovic-iz-Rijeke-koji-je-prijavio-hrvatske-navijace-i-zaprijetio-reprezentaciji-oduzimanjem-bodova
http://www.24sata.hr/nogomet/uvijek-vjerni-znali-su-prijaviti-nase-navijace-zbog-lijepa-li-si-326410
We should just lean on Russia’s actions during games since they’re hosting the WC and are easily one of the most homophobic and racist developed countries in the world.
Once again though it would take someone within a position of power to actually stand up for us and that seems to be the biggest problem here.
Snitch out any other football playing country with a racist bone it’s body?
Fuck if i know…
@sunje……i agree with you.
In all seriousness is there anything we can do? Start a petition? At least get the ball rolling. Just to show we have a voice? Get a bunch of signatures, something, anything. I don’t want to be like most Croats I know and complain and say this sucks, that sucks but never have a solution. Anyone can do that. Talk is cheap, it’s the action that counts.
All jokes aside, is there anything we can do/come up with? It really bugs me that you can’t say Za Dom Spremni because some loser in Rijeka keeps ratting and UEFA/FIFA has no clue what it means. They selectively choose a few years of history when the chant was around long before and will continue to live on long after.
Sooner or later (sooner than later), Croatia will be disqualified from international competition because of the “racist” chants.
Croats will never stop chanting Za Dom Spremni. Not only will they be chanting it even more now that it’s getting serious attention and because of the type of bullshit punishment like today’s, they will be chanting it every chance they get because what goes on at the stadiums is a form of revolt against what is going on in the country as a whole. The stands are a reflection of the political and social climate.
Generally, the situation in Croatia is not a very good one. The nation is divided between those that are unequivocally for Croatia, whether they are rich or poor, satisfied or starving, and those that unequivocally oppose any Croatia (they happen to rule, as a subversive force), whether they are rich or poor, satisfied or starving.
There are real powerful groups (this is not a conspiracy theory or a stretch of the imagination by any measure) that simply oppose an independent Croatian state. From these groups you get the Josipovics, the Mesics, the Pupovacs, the Zoran Stevanovics (the list is endless) etc.
They are the people that shit on the Croatian identity day in, day out, yet they are the same people that rule the country. It’s paradoxical (Zoran Milanovic by his own admission), absurd and tragicomical – all rolled into one. But it is reality.
Eventually, Croatia will be fined and punished enough times to warrant disqualification. Hopefully, by the time that happens, there will either be a Croatian national revival and/or a civil war.
This is a dead-end street.
i didn’t give money or sign anything for Suspension Joey, I wont be signing anything here. Nothing more than symbolism and symbolism doesn’t get results without leadership.
@melbcro
good to hear brate.
and please for God’s sake, if you don’t want “zds” to be associated with fascism stop doing that stupid zieg heil arm movement with it.
“Many on here say “Za dom spremni” but honestly tell me, when was the last time you did anything “za dom”?”
Everyday
@ziva
when was the last time you did anything za tvoj dom? Lets face it, people don’t like radical, its the truth. People won’t get behind groups like the BBB and Torcida, theres a negative stigma about them, is it wrongful? Yes. Their “radical” ways are not getting it done, it shows, lets try this, if we get enough signatures they can’t just ignore us. and if they do its a sign of weakness on their parts and we gain more momentum. What do you have to lose? I want to make a difference, don’t you? If you have a better idea let me hear it.
I believe in meeting in the middle, but certain people want to reach beyond. Now they have gone way past the middle and taken a lot more from us. I am not going to stand by it anymore. Its time to make a stand people. Many on here say “Za dom spremni” but honestly tell me, when was the last time you did anything “za dom”?
A letter with signatures wont do anything……..you know what they will do when they see something like that????? the same thing I do……….throw it away and move on.
ziva and ante b , big commies
@ Sunje
“Give up on ZDS, and U boj U boj is next. Then they’ll go for the Croatian jersey. After that, the Croatian currency. The license plates have already been changed.
Keep bending over. The ultimate result will be upheaval.”
Nothing knew, we have been bending over since we got independence like when we fucking changed our flag just to appease the Yugos and Serbs.
This is what happens when you don’t defend ZDS (ie. Simunic affair, remember how fast the political elite and his teammates distanced themselves from him), and don’t set the record straight the first time. It sets a dangerous precedent. How long will we allow yugoslavs to control the narrative on Croatian symbols and patriotism? Whats next? Have you guys seen the new license plates? Everything which is Croatian, which the honest Croat takes pride in should be destroyed, disappear, and be changed.
@denis svircic
how do we find your email address? I don’t have Facebook and I would love to have a conversation with you.
@ Ziva
I’ll take this a step up. I would be in favor of the NT not playing the qualifying game and fucking up the group. Fuck it. If were gonna keep getting singled out. Plenty of fucking racist chants and homophobic chants at other NT soccer games. Due to the amount of UDBASI left we are always getting snitched on. Im in favor of a no play game. Its a win win, no operational cost for croatia and fifa loose money and group get fucked up.
Za Dom Spremni braco mila
Duboka je voda drina….
sunje are you saying guys like ziva and ante b are communists
Hrvatska** but i get your point.
whatever sanctions uefa put to us, they can never change who we are, they can never change how we act at a game and they can never change how we support our national team. I was supposed to go to croatia this summer to see the vatreni/ italian game and thanks to this new news, I can’t go see my team. hrvatske u srcu! mamiću odlazi! za dom spremni!
you don’t understand my point. Yes, of course the chant is not racist. I know that, but just because someone doesn’t agree with the chant or doesn’t chant it doesn’t make them a communist. Im an avid believer in a “Za dom Spremni” lifestyle but at the same time am not going to hold it against someone that chooses to not chant it. Just because they don’t like the chant doesn’t mean they associate it with fascism.
To anyone who loves croatia it is black and white , for our homeland is not racist and never will be . What part of that don’t you comprehend? By this logic the Germans shouldn’t even be allowed to have their flag anywhere in the stadium, same for Japan , Italy , etc. . The sad part of this is that our own people are more fucked up than the crooks in uefa are.
Problem is, and I see it all the time, some seljacine do the zieg heil hand sign when they say za dom spremni. Shit like that doesn’t help.
okay instead of attacking each other and bullshit on here. what can we do to fix this? can the website write a letter explaining to fifa/uefa the history of “za dom sprain”? shit ill write the letter, and lets get signatures, as many as we can. I’m sure vecernji will carry it and report on it like they did on that ridiculous donation find for simunic. who’s with me? if we get enough signatures, someone is bound to read it in uefa. I know of a few people that can get in touch with our president and that should carry some might wouldn’t it? lets organize.
Fucking amazing how a country with a population of only 4 million is scrutinized for every fart it takes , while other big boys can do whatever they want to. You would think Ustase killed every Serb , amazing there’s any left. How much longer will we take this fucking nonsense, imagine telling an American they can’t sing God bless America because that’s what southerners chanted when they hung blacks from trees in the 60s
@anonymous
just because someone doesn’t agree completely wit your thinking doesn’t mean they are “communists” get over yourself. it doesn’t have to be black and white
To markic and likan , picka vam materina komunisticka.
The last time Croatia saw a fascist was in ’43, when the Italians surrendered.
Since ’45, Yugoslav communists have ruled Croatia. They invent “fascists” out of thin air to keep power. That’s their entire modus operandi.
Ustasa aren’t even that bad. It’s all propaganda. Yes they had the camps, but that wasn’t the whole goal of the regime. I am assuming 10% of them were those seljaci who would’ve killed anybody who wasn’t Croatian, but the majority were just people who loved Croatia. Nobody has the balls to say it. My dida was a Ustasa who walked in the death marches, but he was friends with serbs and muslims etc. Why did Hitler attack the Jews? Because they owned the banks and put Germany more and more into debt. Too bad our vlada is full of commies and dug us in this “fascist” hole, which is impossible to get out of! ZA DOM forever.
Seriously I think the match should be played at Maksimir and among the starters should be Simunovic, Pivaric, Pjaca, Coric, Leko, Pavicic and Zelenika cos they are already used to playing in an empty stadium. Be a surprise weapon for the Italians. I’m going for 5-0
BILI SU ZA DOM SPREMNI

http://inavukic.com/2015/04/08/keeping-tito-afloat-then-and-now-the-detriment-of-yugonostalgia-to-croatia/
I’ll chant it, and keep chanting it. And guess what some of you on the site would label me a liberal. Za Dom spremni!
STALIN – HITLER – TITO (RIBBENTROP/MOLOTOV)
There are no fascists in Croatia. The Italians capitulated in ’43. The Yugoslav communists have been in power since ’45. Their children & grandchildren rule contemporary Croatia and brand all their opposition as “fascist.”.
That will change soon. Lustration!
Not fascist. Commie. Stop trolling.
Even if Suker did know about the punishment I don’t see why some people think he screwed Split over. How? Anyhow Split wasn’t even close to being arranged as a venue so it had nothing to do with it. ZDS needs to be banned forever. Only uneducated local people chant it and some diaspora people who have been badly advised by their parents with shady past
It amazes me how commie and fascist scum continue to haunt Croatia. Sad.
FARE is a nonprofit that he runs and he receives funding from UEFA and I think he also receives some funding from the Cro govt like other nonprofits do.
On paper his cause is to raise awareness about homophobic and rascist conduct. On face value, who would be opposed to that. So, when this guy reports back to UEFA, he is reporting back on items that UEFA has an interest in and is funding.
He has his own agenda, but the bigger problem is with the lack of leadership we have in the country will to stick up for and explain za dom
LOL Ziva Istina you are hilarious.
Ziva,
Funny how not one person has answered your question yet about chanting Za Dom spremni
I agree with Sunje and Slavonac.
This Mamic/Suker scam of rescheduling the game based on inside UEFA information to avoid stadium operating costs seems too juvenile and obvious. I’m not sold on it. It could simply be sheer incompetence to prematurely announce the Split match and then have this happen.
But yea, it’s total bullshit about the Za Dom chant being a racist chant. VERY wierd that we were hit with such a hard penalty, despite the chant. There has been flat out physical violence on the field in other matches (with injuries occurring) and these countries have received punishments no harder than we just got for a chant.
Stevanovic has his agenda. The question I’d like to know is ‘how does one get into that position?’ and ‘ how is one removed from this position?’
@super likan………..you must be one of the non-hrvat speaking diaspora hrvati. U probably meant to have the name Super Lican, but don’t know the difference between Likan and Lican.
TROLL
Isn’t ZDS a Nazi salute????? I’m confused!!!!! !!!!
Amen.
It all ends and begins with Zoran Stevanovic……….he is the reason for the punishment and ban from UEFA. I suggest those of you who don’t know who he is to google his name and get educated about him and who he is. That will explain it for you all. He was informing UEFA within 48 hours after the Norway game. I know some of you guys think I am full of shit when I post, but I am not.
Follow the trail here…….it all starts and ends with Zoran Stevanovic
Are you serious???????? You don’t know the history of it???????
I don’t have the time to explain it…….how about you google it.
I never said it was wrong to chant it…….I advocate it, but the powers that be who run the country control the narrative about it and have turned it into a negative. Someone who is not Croatian will believe the explanation thrown out by the liberals, politicians and elite in Cro.
Ziva, what is the history of “Za Dom Spremni” and why is it nt wrong to chant it?
To be fair, the flared and za dom chant were mentioned in the media. I was aware of what FARE did or was going to report to UEFA. Then again, maybe I am too close to the situation, but I was pretty sure it was common knowledge about the flares and chant. I mean, I heard the chant watching the match.
Question for the diaspora hrvati…….the next time you guys travel to cro, remember this. Before you go to the kafic to butcher your drink order, you will probably be doing so traveling to the kafic in a rental car that no longer has the grb on the license plate. You can’t say za dom at sporting events either……so, are you pissed????? Do you want your voice heard, do you want to raise awareness how crazy this situation is?????? Then maybe it is time to do damage during national team games. If we get punished, we get punished. Better than having things dictated to you by the commie, yugos and liberals out in Cro. Let them know you are pissed and have every right to celebrate the fact you are a hrvat.
I’d be very careful and not equate the thousands who chant ZDS to the rather few that orchestrated the sabotage in Milan.
The sabotage in Milan had very little to do with Croatian national principles, and more to do with anti-Mamić “banditry.” In fact, we don’t know who was behind the sabotage. But we do know it has nothing to do with the thousands that chant ZDS but who also agree it’s unnaceptable to go to lengths to deliberately disqualify Croatia with flare-throwing and violence.
There was not even one, not a one infraction, charge or even rumours of anything since the game up until now. Nothing, nowhere in our media or foreign media, now weeks later out of the blue with no substantiation they can just nonchalantly dictate a fanless match and fines? What does that tell you about fifa and the state of soccer these days? the suit and ties there can act like dictators based on imaginary events.
I personally do and will continue to. And I have a feeling the same will happen in Hrvatska and abroad because it is ingrained in us. Except of course if you’re a jugo, then you look at is an insult.
Give up on ZDS, and U boj U boj is next. Then they’ll go for the Croatian jersey. After that, the Croatian currency. The license plates have already been changed.
Keep bending over. The ultimate result will be upheaval.
Apologies for the bad grammar……typing in my ipad
Question for everyone…….I assume all or most of you live the “za dom…..spremni” lifestyle to I live each and every day. If so, congrats. But, let me ask you is. If you know going into a game that “za dom….spremni” chant is looked down upon by UEFA and will result in severe punishment for the national team, would you still continue chanting it? There is grey here, only black and white in UEFA’s eyes. You can chant it, but the savez gets fined and punishment will only increase. Do you continue doing it???
That last part is true Ziva and many here have said that.
Revolution??????? That is what the fans tried in Milan, but many of you labeled as idiots for their actions.
Well said Ziva!
Here
Time for a revolution.
First, there was or is no confirmation the game is or will take place in split. ZG was registered as the host city with UEFA, which means UEFA and Italy need to approve the change. So, let’s clear that up first. Work still needed to be done to ensure Split is the host.
All of his hear agree “za dom…..spremni” is fine and is not an issue. However, we have allowed the term to be defined by the Yugoslavs and commies who run present day Croatia. So, they control the narrative and anytime that term is used, it will draw negative attention.
They term was used and chanted at the game last week, FARE reported it to UEFA. UEFA views the term as discriminatory/racist/fascist, etc……end of story. Until someone within Croatian leadership leads the charge in fully explaining the meaning and history of term, this will always happen.
FARE is based in Rijeka, they receive money from UEFA and are run by a person who has a Serbian name. Connect the dots and you have the answer..
i did hear a few za dom spremni chants, but thats it. no flares or fire works. i call bullshit on all of this man.
@slavonac
super gets promoted, now he is way up higher in uefa, suddenly changes his mind on split, puts the game there, HNS gets fined but hajduk gets shat on even more. high runnings costs and no money from tickets. shit should be interesting..
all this a coincidence?
i think not..
its kinda like insider trading really.
LOL, what a joke, did someone tell a knock knock joke about vikings and hurt a negroes feeling about his viking roots ? Pfff, fifa is a corrupt for profit business only interested these days in their own preservation and power, elitist soccer dictators making whatever rules whenever they want. Somebody explain to them that france is a Muslim country now, LOL, a center for terrorism and African sexual diseases into rest of Europe.
Ero,
After the Norway game, Srna basically said he can’t wait for the Italy game in Split, how they deserve it, etc. To me, by itself, that’s perfectly acceptable. However before that the game was definitely announced in Zagreb. When questioned about it, Srna played dumb. To me, it raised a red flag and became fishy (no puns intended).
So there is absolutely no evidence that the savez knew of the fine and yet now, some of you knew this?
How would you know? Is this part of your Mamic/Suker/Savez conspiracy?
Let things unfold before you hang someone!!!!
As bad as Šuker and his boss are, it’s doubtful they had foreknowledge of this decision and decided to take a shit on Split.
Don’t lose concentration. The Croatian republic has been fully subverted by Yugoslavs and Serbs. The NGO-sector, and not only the NGO-sector, is anti-Croatian.
When the Croatian gov’t pulls the plug on their finances and investigates who’s funding them from abroad, things will change.
Until that happens, expect more of this.
@ante b
what Srna comment?
“the move was all about MONEY.”
…The HNS got fined 55k Euros as well…so idk how much of this was about money. Correct me if im wrong
I was at the game as well and all was well.
“If they hadn’t done what I told ’em not to do, they’d still be alive.”
I saw Croatia-Norway at Maksimir. Croatian fans did absolutely nothing wrong. I don’t get this at all.
Sramota that SDP communist party and that udbas cetnik josipovic reaaly fucked croatia with yugo propaganda shit. Za dom spremni means what it means fuck all the uneducated uefa pricks and the so called hrvati on paper for ruining our homeland. Za Dom Spreman uvijek
They can’t shut us up.
ZA DOM SPREMNI
I didn’t see any flares on TV and didn’t hear negative feedback in the media after the Norway game.
Why did UEFA act after this game, but not after the Italy game where all the hoopla happened.
I’m confused.
The next time an NT game is in Split will be must see TV… I’ve read a comment somewhere and it’ll be true, they’ll need either a huge police presence or the military next time they play in Split…
Brbic… haha talk about getting taken for a ride!
Thanks Nepoznat. That’s a load of crap by UEFA then, there is nothing racist about that chant at all.
I knew something was up the second Srna made that comment. Not all of us were fooled. I also don’t suspect this is the last this “decision” will be visited.
Suker basically gave Torcida the big F*#% Y^*.
@Stevie it was chanting of “Za Dom… Spremni” a bunch of times…. wtf
What was the “racist behavior?” I actually missed the game so, I honestly don’t know.
As for moving the game to Poljud and then a few days later we get this news that we will be playing in an empty stadium, that is no coincidence, I’m sure Davor “The Brand” Suker knew all about the penalty we would be facing, so he throws a bone to Split knowing that we could have played that game in Varazdin and it wouldn’t have mattered because there weren’t going to be fans in the stadium regardless. Typical behavior of the HNS.
this makes me really angry… shows the mafia running HNS is basically as bad as the mafia running UEFA 🙁
Should have kept it at Maksimir. No one would show up anyway. -____-
LMAO
