Croatia will have to be happy to leave Milan with a 1-1 draw after nearly having to abandon the match in the second half. Croatian fans threw flares onto the pitch with the Dutch referee suspending the match for over 10 minutes. It looked as if the Vatreni would have to take a 3-0 loss, but the match was eventually restarted, ending 1-1.
Italy looked like nothing special and Croatia looked slow. However, both remain undefeated in Euro qualifying after the draw.
More to come from this match and the fans this week…
—————————————–
HRVATSKA Starting XI: Subašić – Srna, Ćorluka, Vida, Pranjić – Modrić, Brozović – Perišić, Rakitić, Olić – Mandžukić
Croatia’s most relevant qualifier since 2009 against England is upon us.
It isn’t often that that the Vatreni are able to challenge some of Europe’s most storied teams in qualifying, but since dropping to Pot 2 this campaign, they will be able to face 4-time World Cup champions Italy to test their might on the way to Euro 2016.
Both teams are expected to qualify automatically for the tournament, but who will enter the draw pumping on all cylinders?
This should be considered a confidence gainer more than anything for Croatia, who have been perfect in qualifying thus far. But if they are allowed one loss, it would be to Italy on the road.
However, more importantly, this is where Croatia can set themselves apart, not only in Group H, but amongst Europe’s elite.
We all know the talent this team currently holds, with players from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Inter Milan on the roster. But when will they shine? When will they finally come together to show their true potential as one unit?
The time is now. And the game is Italy at San Siro.
After a forgettable World Cup, Croatia can quickly ride the momentum going into 2015 with a win versus Italy, who will be without striker Mario Balotelli (hamstring injury).
This is not a do-or-die game for Croatia by any means. But boy, imagine what they could do with a win.
With the young guns showing their worth under Modrić and company, this team could be a threat to win the European title in 2016.
Yeah, nothing like a fake pr ploy…….is is nothing buy trying to get some good will. Only an idiot would buy into this. And our war veterans are treated like puppets. Hey, let’s go feel good about ourselves and visit the war veterans. Nah, got no time…..wait a minute, media will be there? Ajmo

Great article on Mamic and Dinamo and what they are doing. Wish more teams in the HNL would do this.
Regarding ZA DOM – SPREMNI:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eyz1VurvuPY
By my calculations, Croatia looks to have dropped 5 places from 14th to 19th on FIFA’s ranking table. Here who has moved ahead of us:
England
Romania
Czech Republic
Costa Rica
Algeria
This round has been awarded to Ante B. Very well.
Incorrect. That’s old news. Come on Bobby, step it up. You’re better than that.

(Picks up mike) Wrong! A youngster was let go after Mama i Tata su dosli po njega. – probably with a belt.
The other 15 will go in front of a judge in Milan tomorrow morning.
So those 16 “hooligans” you all speak of…FREED!
(Drops mic)
I think Mamić would retire and leave all this alone if he could… But he can’t.
The second he leaves his very influential position, is the second people he used to have on the payroll will sell him out.
It would only be a matter of time until he’s arrested. Best option for him is to hold on for as long as he can… or go out in a blaze of glory.
@ Ziva Istina
Think about, Puppet Suker has one goal within the repka…….to find his way to the FIFA executive committee.
Doing a good job leading a Savez and having the goal of moving up into FIFA don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Define doing a good job with the Savez…..the English FA has infinite transparency, would you say whomever leads them is doing a good job?
@ Ziva
I’m with you on ridding the savez of this element ASAP.
but the stuff you speak of will not be “short term”
say a big shake-up occurs and we see cataclysmic (but positive) changes in the whole federation that does in fact see us miss a Euro, WC and just have a string of bad results… do you think at the snap of a finger we could just get back on the up and up and become a top 15, top 10 footballing nation? it’s impossible to really see all the ripples and waves it may create down the line
again, let me emphasize that I want Mamic and this criminal element eliminated like every other fan
but i think it can be done in a way where we keep our progress as a NT and still oust what needs to be ousted
Mamic only fault is not getting us a seasoned coach due to him not willing to spend for one. Only Balkan mental people like Ziva would complain.
I just worry that short term pain would lead to short term gain then back to long term pain with the next asshole that has access to this kind of talent.
Nothing’s guaranteed if Mamic is ousted other than the BBB returning.
Clean out Mamic and get everyone out. If it means we need a few years of bad results within the repka and miss a World Cup and euro, I am ok with that. Short term pain for long term gain.
Plus, this isn’t OUR repka anymore. Mamic and Puppet Suker have taken it away from us. Think about, Puppet Suker has one goal within the repka…….to find his way to the FIFA executive committee.
We are getting results because of our talent. Imagine if we had someone leading the savez who had a brain and only looked for the long term goals of soccer within cro.
^ ^
I think I get you, but I don’t think ousting Mamic is going to clean up the game there.
It would fill Maksimir and make for a crazy atmosphere again but that would only make Dinamo potentially stronger within the league.
Too much corruption within the country to have a clean HNL.
Is this is a serious question. This clown has destroyed the game in cro. You need to do I some reading on the negative influence he has. He has had influence in the past in assigning match officials for games. The HNL is rigged. Been if a team was good enough to get close to dinamo, they can’t do anything. Because of his influence. Google the name Hrvoje Males……see the shit he has gone through since he wore a wire and tried to clean up the game. It is hard for me to enjoy the repka when I know Mamic controls what happens in key positions within the savez. For God sakes, the last two coaches we hired with zero experience and only because Mamic organized their hirings. Too many other examples to list right now.
@Ziva
Honest question.
Why are you so gung-ho for Mamic to be ousted even at the expense of our National Team?
You are a Hajdukovac yet you would sacrifice the National Teams success to oust the president of your rivals?!
I’ve been to Dinamo games but my allegiance is with the National Team above all else.
His influence on the National Team sucks but unless you’re a die-hard Dinamo supporter why do you (or any non die-hard Dinamo support) care so much?
@CvA
Dude, if you put ME in there with Rakitic and Modric it would work well, lol. 😉
Honestly though, I don’t mind Brozovic, but that first Italy goal was entirely his fault. However, our midfield has been much better with Brozovic in there, but that’s largely due to Rakitic being relieved of his former duties of having to be 100 percent dedicated to defence. He has more freedom now. I think so long as SOMEONE plays DM other than Rakitic, we will look good.
Mind you, I’m happy that it’s at least a young player like Brozovic that we’re playing in that role than someone like Vukojevic or Dujmovic…so I’m happy it’s Brozovic instead of what we usually resort to. I just personally think Radosevic would probably be just as good, and eventually much better down the road.
Radosevic is not just a tough defensive midfielder.
He’s also a dead-ball specialist.
He has quite a bit of skill, which makes him a very interesting player.
Just type in ‘Radosevic Primavera’ in Google Videos to see some free kick highlights of his when he was playing with Napoli’s Primavera squad.
It would be a shame if this talent was wasted and didn’t develop. We have so much talent with our offensive midfielders (Kovacic, Halilovic, Coric, Vlasic, Roguljic, Brozovic, Pasalic). We need a defensive one or two.
My Dida used to say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” And right now Brozovic fits in nicely with Rakitic and Modric. So I don’t think Kovac is gonna put Radosevic in there.
Would be nice to have a real DM, but right now we gotta good thing goin’.
There was a very positive article about Radosevic a couple of weeks ago, the writer was somewhat confused as to why he never gets any playing time’
I think if we played Radosevic in an upcoming friendly, he’d do well for us. We’d be doing both him, and ourselves a favour as we’ll need someone like him in a DM role for us in the future (and we’d give him some exposure to get outta Napoli). I’m not 100 percent sold on the idea of trying to develop Brozovic at that position. If we’re going to go through some growing pains in trying to develop someone to play as DM, may as well go with someone who has the natural talent for the position.
Then again, it’s hard to justify calling someone up (basing it solely on talent, and not play), but still. I think he’d do well.
Radosevic started that game for one reason…..to improve his transfer value so mali, jadan I nemocan hajduk could sell him. I am not saying the kid is bad. He has talent, but there is no way he would have played if he was on another club team in Cro. Strucnjak Stimac did mali, jadan I nemocan hajduk a favor.
Well, he was still playing for Hajduk when he got called up for that game, and was sold to Napoli shortly after. So, there was no need to call him up again. 😉
I’m pretty Brozovic will probably lose his starting spot once he’s sold as well. Someone else will be given a chance to be sold, err, I mean play.
@ Ivica – Was the story on Radosevic ever explained?
Stimac starts him in Belgium, he plays great, and is never heard from again. How did Stimac know he would do well?
There also was no outcry over how you have to earn your way onto the national team based on your play at club level.
He simply was never called up again. Never had anything to do with his club form at that time, so, you can’t use that as an excuse for not calling him again, right?
Speaking of Rebic, he played against Rubin Kazan in a friendly and looked very good (watched the highlights).
Assisted on the winning goal, and had a very big hand in the first goal as well.
In the post game interviews, his own coach actually played down how well Rebic played and said that Rebic’s assist wasn’t that impressive and that he could do the same himself if he went out onto the field. RB Leipzig’s coach REALLY despises Rebic. Rebic posted a picture of himself on social media with him on the bench saying ‘my new position’. The coach wasn’t pleased, lol.
@Bobby V
Yea, some other popular site came out with a top-100 list (I forgot which site it was).
They had Jedvaj pretty high up there, along with Kovacic, Coric, and Halilovic.
Surprisingly, they had Josip Radosevic in there as well and they gave a detailed reason as to why. Brought some hope for him back into my eyes.
He has all the tools to be a tough-nosed defensive midfielder, but actually has solid technical ability too. I’m hoping he gets a callup (even if it’s not deserved). I’m sure he’ll pull a Rebic and play well despite not playing first-team football. The kid needs some exposure so some other team can just pick him up and start playing him.
I don’t want to waste young talent in a position of need.
Nope, the Pope is a Hajduk fan
You guys are amazing, do you have dreams about pizda Mamic?
Wait, let me guess he also has the Pope in his back pocket?
LOL
How many of you have the stones to do that? I would go out on a limb and say not many.
@ Rujan – Correct, it’s about cooperation. Read about the Market Basket grocery chain story here in New England this summer.
When a poplular board member who was known for being pro-consumer and keeping prices down was thrown off the Market Basket board by his own family members, all the workers walked out and all the customers stopped shopping there.
It was an un-precedented story in US labor history. He’s back and so are the customers.
Same solution for Mamic. The customers (fans) have stopped coming – now it’s up to the workers (Croatian talented youth) to stop signing with him.
Totalitarians of all stripes whether they be mafioso, fascist, commie, corporate, politicians, hooligans, etc, are everyone’s problem. Everyone, except said people, agrees on this.
If Hrvati everywhere were to similarly agree upon this, everyone’s life would improve, and so would cooperation, which is the key element to defeating totalitarians.
Hell no, I would sacrifice a good national team if it meant Mamic was out. But, first let me say that one thing has nothing to do with the other. Cro would still produce talent. Shit, all this talent that has come trough for dinamo, what has it done for dinamo???? Nothing.
Next…..are there really people on here who think Kum Kovac is not beholden to Mamic. Listen, Mamic doesn’t tell Kum Kovac what to do with tactics or game day decisions, but you better believe he has an influence on him. You are being naive otherwise.
Some of you guys are questionable. You would be ok with Mamic if it meant a very good national team???? Really??? No wonder many of you guys are grown adults who wear the last name of a person you don’t even know. You are the living, walking definition of a jock sniffer.
Goal.com has come out today with a list of the top 50 U-18 players in the World.
Alen Halilovic was 2nd, Ante Coric was 9th and Robert Muric was 35th, his coach at Ajax already comparing him with Arjen Robben in the way he uses his left foot.
Nuturing and pushing the talent from one club for profit isn’t a win for anyone, if we want to be a legit contender we have to clean out top to bottom. Not jyst HNS and dinamo, a nationwide clean out the corruption isnt just limited to those 2.
Romeo Jozak has a very good reputation both inside and outside Croatia.
As much as we all hate Mamic, and as corrupt as he is, he may actually be doing a good job in terms of player development. The players that have been coming out of Dinamo Zagreb are proof of this. It’s just a shame that he is greedy and has to enslave them to his “son’s” agency or he’ll stagnate their careers.
None of us really know what goes on, and none of us know what it takes to run a successful development system. Croatia could very well have followed in the steps of Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, etc…but haven’t. Out talent pool has shot up a lot since 2006.
Hypothetically speaking…What if we remove Mamic from Dinamo, and then our national team suffers?
Is having a mafioso (although a competent one) running your soccer federation worth it, in exchange for more talent coming up the pipeline?
😀
A dopredsjednik? Jesu li pokidane veze uspostavljene?
Odnos sa Zdravkom je vrlo dobar, i on podržava naš rad… i can find the full article when i get home, but that is our esteemed leader talking up the criminal running things, if you are happy with the role Mamic plays in Croatian football then that is an opinion you are welcome to.
Is anyone else feeling like me and hoping there is no ban of fans. I for one want to see the destruction these clowns would do in Split against Italy next year.
It would be fun to watch as long as I am not sitting with these clowns.
@Split
Thanks man, I get it….sve najbolje.
Oh and my agenda is to get the best out of the talent we have and prove we can be a powerhouse in international football and have a clean competitive league that nurtures the talent we have
Bilic, he gave us 2 good years and then shit the bed even euro 2012 was questionable and then a 5/5 on his way out the door, barking up the wrong tree there, but nice try.
Ill never be face to face but if i was id have no issue to telling him what i think, though you and he may think he is infallible, he hasn’t shown much thus far. You’re right he isn’t remotely beholden to his kum.
@bobby v
why would you waste your time with this fool doktor
hell of a family history you have and what they went through, dont waste your time explaining anything to that fool
@Sudi Mi
Dalmo Ante is still crying for Bilic.
@Sudi Mi
You write well and back it up. Ignore garbage like Dalmo Ante. He has his agenda from day one and continues with his garbage talk.
On another note we are in first, Kovac and the players are doing very well. Bravo HNS. First place heaing to Xmas is good. Of course many here hate that. jebi ga.
Bog i Hrvati.
Standard answer, question an unsubstantiated claim and then be accused of nepotism.
How about this smart guy? Ask 10 knowledgeable soccer coaches who have the pool of players the HNS has, and you will likely get 10 different starting line-ups AND 10 different formations.
EVERYONE sees players differently. EVERYONE expects different things from players, depending on the circumstances of the game, the formation being deployed, the opponent, etc.
Furthermore, a coach needs to be evaluated on the strength of his record over a period of time, and the results over that time.
It is easy to scream fix at anything and everything, especially in light of the continued BS that is called Croatian football today.
It is harder to look at something objectively and understand and evaluate decisions for what they are. Until you can provide proof that Mamic has Kovac (show me one shred of evidence that in his entire life Niko Kovac ever took money for something he did not believe in) in his pocket, I repeat you are just another tool talking out of their ass.
For the record, I don’t know Kovac, I’ve never met him the only thing I judge him on is his exemplary playing record as a proud member and captain of the repka.
P.S. I have little doubt you also would not make these accusations to the guy if you were face to face with him….carry on.
@ Doktor – I’m 53 years old and get most of my information about the former Yugoslavia from my father, who escaped as an 18 year old in 1953 by rowing across the sea to Italy.
My grandfather was killed in the Bleiburg massacre – when the British turned him back into Yugoslavia where the Partizans were waiting.
Gavrilo Princip was married to my grandmother’s first cousin.
My Mom was taken from the Mostar area to Austria by a Catholic orphange group after the Partizans forced them to watch as they executed what remaining men were left in their town.
Just curious – where do you get most of your information from?
If you have ignored what has happened in Cro football thats your problem. Im guessing you might be close to him, i have always maintained thar i am willing to let him redeem himself but he is yet to demonstrate that he is willing to pick the best player ib the best position regardless of who they belong to and who will profit.
Ne brini blago onome koji pameti nima, duze ces ziviti
Right back atcha….make claims and then worry about the facts another day….
Yeah im gonna stop working to dig for you, malo sutra. Ne brini blago onome koji pameti nima, duze ces ziviti. Sve najbolje
@ Doktor
Not even ‘intellectually dishonest’…. I just think these people aren’t that bright. They were fed garbage (Jugoslavija), never asked questions, never looked for facts, never looped in the mirror and just rolled with it. This doesn’t make them enemies of the state here or bad people… Just low IQ’s… ‘Mouth-breathers’ as someone put so eloquently earlier.
One mans Facist is another man’s freedom fighter.
@Dalmo Ante
…don’t wait for a budala like myself to educate you.
At least you clarified something today. I love that line, you want evidence, go dig for it.
Too funny, so predictable.
Can’t let go of Tito, can you? One of the top-ten mass murderers in history.
That makes you one of two things. Intellectually dishonest or clinically insane.
🙂
If you think player selection is on the level svaka ti cast. Same again if you think a coach who lauds the criminal who runs football in cro is on the up. Blind Freddie can see what is happening, maybe you are related to Niko or you are from Livno or just simply haven’t paid any attention to croatian football, want evidence go dig for it, it isn’t too hard to find don’t wait for a budala like myself to educate you. If you want to believe Niko is his own man that is your prerogative, he is yet to prove it
@HrvatAbroad well said. Bravo!
Don’t want to get into the debate about most things on here considering I view a lot of people on here as extremists who don’t know their history besides the propaganda they feed off of, I will comment on the game. I thought our boys played well in Milan, just lacked the finishing to really take advantage. As for our fans, they’re disgraceful. Just like Suker and Mamic. They’re all a joke. Doktor Prle, you’re post is a giant piece of propaganda, well done. Big difference between Croats and “patriots” as you call them, very big difference.
@Dalmo Ante
Who killed Kennedy? I don’t subscribe to conspiracies….provide proof or your theories can be filed with some of the other mouth breathers on here….
if anyone wants to vomit in there mouth real quick…
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/d5/Tito_Ceremony.jpg/300px-Tito_Ceremony.jpg
and I’d be the first to admit that I have some family members who are Tito/Yugo-nostalgics. If it weren’t for a blood relation, I’d spit on them and the even more twisted part is I had a great uncle KILLED by the Partizani in Istra in the 50’s and some family members STILL think Istra/Kvarner would be better off under Tito or even worse….
if it just remained a part of Italy
Sickening.
He is kumovi with the VP of the HNS and the prez is a zero in shoes, i guess he takes orders from donald duck, good one Sude Mi 😀 Blind Freddie can see what is happening, but of course ignorance is bliss
@ Dalmo
Srna is not just going to give up the armband, mid qualifying cycle… If I were Darijo, I’d cross my fingers that Croatia leave Euro 2016 on a high note and retire from international duty. This should be the last hurrah for guys like Ola (37 in 2016), Srna (34 in 2016) and in the event he’s still hanging around the NT, Kranjcar (32 in 2016).
I see Rakitic as the clear cut favorite to succeed him. He’ll be 28 and will still have 3-4 years of prime nogomet in him, if he doesn’t pickup any injuries….
@ Doktor Prle
Thanks and got it!
@anonymous – could agree more. Fascist scum = commie scum. Plain and simple.
Of course I agree. You must have missed my comment on that. No excuse for throwing flares on the field.
Furthermore, Poglavnik i Tito nisu usporedivi. Kao prvo, za razliku od Tita, bio je Hrvat. I nije ubijao Hrvate. Morao je popustiti Talijanima u svezi Dalmacije zbog naslijedjenog tereta Rappalskih ugovora.
Tito I Pavelic nisu usporedivi.
@ Doktor
that was perfectly written, bravo
@ CvA not sure what you mean about a cultured left foot, have a look at his play when in attack and see how many effective plays he has had. He is hopeless in defense and impotent in attack, he cant get past a player without losing the ball, he misses too many targets when passing and most of his crosses are of no consequence. I know a lot of people lauded him so now they talk about how he isnt so bad etc etc, i have maintained my stance the whole time and he consistently proves he doesn’t deserve a place let alone seemingly be first picked.
As for a ship without a captain, he needs to hand over the armband and take on a different role. It will be better for him and us, we have the options and it is time to bleed the youth, same goes for Ola.
@Doktor Prle
Let’s be CRYSTAL clear here…..the act of throwing flares onto the pitch and thereby stopping the game, especially at a time when momentum was on the side of Croatia was an act of sheer stupidity. Full Stop.
Agreed?
Dalmo Ante says:
@ U Boj, If it looks like shit and smells like shit, it most likely is shit. Niko takes orders from mamic….
And of course you have proof of this right?
@Prle
Nije valj Tito ni njegovi partizani, ali ni tvoj poglavnik i njegove ustase nisu bili nista bolji (a za Dalmaciju su specijalno i jedni i drugi bili pogubni).
Priznaj to pa uru zivi………………
The ustase didn’t kill Croats. They killed Yugoslavs. Huge difference.
Tito’s communist regime was in power for 45 years. He and his forces committed some of the most heinous crimes in history, mainly against the Croat people.
Hundreds of thousands of men, women, children and the elderly were murdered in the post-war period. He sent assassins throughout the world to murder and maim Croatian patriots that had emigrated to the West (100+). Some of them are standing trial in Munich, Germany as we speak.
Why in Munich, you may ask? Because the political caste in Croatia refused to bring them to trial. Croatia, under Josipovic and Milanovic (before them, Mesic) is the last bastion of communism in all of Europe.
Tito, a mass-murderer, is glorified and valorized to this very day. He has streets named after him and condemning him or his regime will have you eliminated from public life in what is today Croatia in name only.
Why do I write this, you may ask? The crimes of Tito and his Yugoslav partizans dwarf all crimes committed by the storied Ustase.
So how is it that an anti-Croatian regime whose dictator murdered hundreds of thousands of Croats is celebrated to this day, and no one seems to mind, yet those Croats who are rebelling against this gross injustice in public life by chanting Za Dom Spremni are being condemned?
Acknowledge that Croatian football fans, the overwhelming majority of whom are patriots, are chanting ZDS and other slogans as a result of the pro-Titoist political caste in Croatia. They are REVOLTING and REBELLING.
None of them seek to revive the Ustase regime or the Independent State of Croatia. They are rebelling, in the only way they can, at football stadiums to protest the crimes and injustices of the (former)communists in Croatia who control every corner of public life.
Any other portrayal of the singing off forbidden songs and chants is nothing but pro-Yugoslav, professional antifascist and pro-Serbian propaganda.
Here’s a video of what a proud nation used to look like, before it was once again ravaged by anti-Croats:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh_N1WYpTgU
from wikipedia:
Aleksandar Holiga is best described as a self hating Croat. His hobbies include writing about Ustase and WW11, he is very well known for playing a “wolf is a sheep’s clothing” role, just when you think his article is about soccer, it ends in Nazism, Fascism and Josip Simunic being related to Adolf Hitler…the guy is the same as most trolls…he’s provocative and tries to sell papers while he apologises for being born in Croatia!
@ Moe
wow, so what led you to believe that a guy named “Aleksander”, who consistently references Croatia’s nazi past and now calls us terrorists potentially might be a “double agent” and “having another agenda”
mama moja mila… read between the lines folks
if BBB and whatever ultras groups want to do something really destructive BUT ALSO beneficial?!
Burn down Maksimir… I mean does anyone want that stadium? Wait until the middle of the night so no one is in there of course, and let that dump burn to the ground. Mamic would suffer (would need to cough up millions for a new stadium). Dinamo could play in Kranjceviceva (since they only average 200 a home game now anyway) and the fans and Dinamo would get a state of the art stadium and a new NT stadium.
Win on all sides (expect for Mamic and his cronies).
Holiga comes off as a double agent. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has an agenda and was helped along the way to his sports writers career to put us down. Or he is so full of self hate that he can never be one of us. Does anyone have a bio on him?
UDBa RADI
Every country in Europe has their right wing hooligans. Look at what the Poles did:
http://www.thestate.com/2014/11/12/3807048/damage-by-hooligans-in-warsaw.html
To feel any type of shame over this is stupid. Holiga called it terrorism. Are you kidding? 20 drunk thugs sneak in some flares and make fools of themselves and this is somehow equal to people being beheaded in the middle east?
These yobs can be identified. Have them banned from all matches and have the police do their jobs.
Fine. But was there even a ‘U’ displayed at the game?
I didn’t see any. There was a photoshopped picture that was circulating for a bit, before it got taken down.
I think people like yourself and Holiga have become very trigger happy with this kind of stuff, and blow things out of proportion.
20 guys show up to protest Mamić by throwing flares onto the field, and suddenly it’s racism and terrorism?
You all should read this, as far as the U and the violence is concerned. It is pretty thoughtful.
http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/nov/17/croatia-fans-terrorism-italy-planned-cry-attention
As for the Ustase: supporting the legacy of that political regime is not any better than supporting the legacy of the Nazi party or of the Serbs who have historically oppressed us Croatians too. The Ustase didn’t just kill Serbs, first of all, they also killed Croats; they murdered families who had been living peacefully in Croatian towns for generations, in fact. Moreover, the Ustase was only powerful during its time because of Hitler’s support. Think about it, do you really want to perpetuate the legacy of Adolf Hitler? Is this what Croatia is about to you? Preserving values of a society governed by racist genocide? There is a recent book about the Ustase that investigates what happened—a lot was covered up when Yugoslavia was forced together and made communist (what a terrible idea that was!), but you should know before you say Za dom spremni where this saying comes from, and that story is not for the faint of heart.
Racism? How?
The -U- is a sacred symbol to most Croats. Akin to the cresecent to muslims and the ying/yang to the Chinese. How can it ever be associated with Racism?
VUKOVAR
Oh great we also got charged with racism. Awesome.
If the fans intent is to get rid of Mamic. It ain’t happening. Mamic isn’t going anywhere. Even if he did, I get the feeling he won’t go quietly. He’ll go out Tony Montana style, gunz blazin’.
These fans are putting themselves at risk of getting beaten and arrested by the police. It’s not worth it to do these antics.
Right now we have a decent side, and we witnessed one of our best spells in a long time. It was that Hour of Power we had prior to the flares being thrown. No FA is perfect, but these antics to remove them aren’t worth it.
Getting back to our play, Niko has given us some solid results the past few games. But I’m yet to be convinced. His final judgement will come in the Euros, this will be his very own “Judgment of Paris” so to speak….
Pranjic was okay. All he’s got is a cultured left foot, but he’s poor defensively. If he’s a up against a powerful offensive team he’ll be taken to the cleaners.
Srna wasn’t as bad as people say. He made some nice runs latching on to diagonal balls. He’s okay for now. Besides, what’s a ship without it’s Captain? lol
Olic is fine as a sub. Not sure if he should be starting on the wing. He should only be Mandza’s replacement.
We had plenty’a power in the Air. We were well organized, and good technically. A shame we didn’t take 3 pts.
Ante B . Your a dumb fuck . Go support serbia you fucken traitor
Zapamtite Vukovar
3 to 4 months is pretty long for a muscle injury . lets hope its not a lingering problem
cro next game is big on march 28th vs norway. would be nice to have modric baack for it
norway is on 9 points. cro has looked great so far, but a loss to norway makes a guaranteed qualificaiton much more uncertain
“Hajduk plays Dinamo this Saturday in Split.”
does this game have ANY relevance anymore? watching my dog run around in circles is more entertaining than this ‘derbi’
As usual, Corluka is an unsung hero! Besides Olic, Corluka & Manzo are likely the next players on the NT that don’t put up with BS.
http://www.espnfc.us/fifa-club-world-cup/story/2150786/luka-modric-is-set-to-miss-three-to-four-months-after-tearing-his-thigh-muscle-while-playing-for-croatia-vs-italy
I thought it looked bad when he went down…
Get well Luka!
@ Bobby V
Svaka cast.
I knew many displaced families from Vukovar who were staying at Hotel Jadran on Pećine In Rijeka during the war.
To this day they are still the best Hrvati we have.
@ Svima
Can you imagine we lost Modric in Milan in the middle of the first half and still go on to dominate Italy?
Rakitic was big time.
Hajduk plays Dinamo this Saturday in Split.
Real Madrid players upset with the loss of Modric.
11/18 – Remember Vukovar.
Italian coach Antonio Conte: “It wasn’t an easy game. Croatia are more well-drilled than us, they have experience and quality. We have to improve.”
http://www.24sata.hr/nogomet/carli-i-mandzo-spasili-hrvatsku-od-poraza-za-zelenim-stolom-393990
Interesting story on how Mandzukic and Corluka refused to go into the locker room fearing the referee would forfeit the match – even Robert Kovac wanted them to go in.
Watch the second video, about a minute in. Remember seeing this yesterday.
@Ziva Istina,
Yes, of course we would be interested in the interview.
Email me at denis@croatiansports.com.
so apparently about 20 bbb crashed the section, people were scared, they robbed a store in milan, and possibly raped a woman. Yea these guys arent scumbags, there heros fighting for justice. NOT!!! Thugs hiding behind soccer, thats it.
Thanks for educating me Ziva Istina. I honestly and sincerely appreciate it.
If one of the guys involved in this will talk, that would be awesome. Hvala puno!
The Savez is not a cash cow……..They are not in bad shape, but don’t kid yourself they are a cash cow either. They are not England or Germany where they have multi-million dollar deals with sponsors. You’ll have to explain to me how the savez makes money based on player transfers. Now, what has happened is that people within the savez are able to showcase players on the repka in order to make money on transfers, but none of that cash goes back to the savez.
Yesterday was no set up. It was planned for a while and targeted at a few individuals. Now you know why I sit in the boxes and luxary suites instead of behind the goals with the rif raf.
The players are not going to boycott. Our best player, Modric, is a Mamic guy. He is not going to do anything against Mamic. The rumor is that Modric gives a percentage of his earnings to Mamic and son like Da Silva had to. No clue if it is true or not, but Modric is beholden to Mamic. His son still represents Modric.
Competing pro soccer league in Cro?????? What makes you think these guys want to waste their money and throw it away on another league. First, it would be doomed to fail. You have to be approved by FIFA/UEFA and there is no way they would get certification. Second, any player pledging to go in a new league would automatically be suspended. Plus, its not like any of our former players have excelled in business ventures away from soccer. Boban failed (not all of his fault. I think Simic has done OK, but that dude is a good guy and no ruthless enough to deal with the scum of Cro soccer.
So, what will happen next. I’m kind of surprised Puppet Suker didn’t come out attacking today. Either way, a fine is coming at least a one game ban with no fans, possibly more. I wonder if UEFA would do more. We are not a big name than a ban (not saying it would be a ban) would cause anyone to cry over us missing the Euros, but we do have some name recognition that it would raise awareness.
Fuck it, enjoy the ride and enjoy the theater. This has been entertaining to watch the last 30 hours or so along with the reaction. Never a dull moment……….
Also, to the guys who run this site. Would you guys be interested in an interview with one of the guys involved in all of this?
FIFA would not allow another league in Croatia. You only need to look to Bosnia, where, they forced the seperate leagues to join or face international suspension.
I agree with “Croatia vs. Antwerp” that there’s probably a lot more to this story than meets the eye.
Croats, to my knowledge (both my parents are from Croatia), are not usually ones to protest either by marching in the streets or slinging flares at soccer matches.
My best guess is that this was not be a grassroots protest at all against the savez. Please excuse my conspiracy-theory tendencies, but I believe either Mamic put these guys up to throwing the flares so that Mamic’s critics could be blamed for it and further silenced, or this was a setup by a group that is trying to discredit Mamic and company, and takeover the savez . After all, the savez is a cash cow and prime target to get at some easy money since it makes a ton of cash from selling players to big-name European clubs. The Croatian National Team may be expendable since it costs money to run.
If current top players refuse to play for the national team (as some have suggested), it could shake up the system and bring down Mamic and his cohorts, but people just as bad could be installed in their place.
I think that it would be great if former wealthy national team players with a sense of ethnics who hate HNS as it’s currently constituted step up and create a competing professional soccer league in Croatia. That way, talented young Croatian players could stay out of the greedy reach of Mamic. Even if such a new league fails, it would be a fantastic step forward and bring even more attention to the corrupt cancer that plagues Croatian football.
Of course, former wealthy players would first have to secure all of their liquid assets somewhere outside Croatia as well as relocate their families and loved-ones outside the country – just to be on the safe side.
One thing is showing low class on a site like this and insulting each other, I’ll call myself out first, I did and and am not proud of my shit temper and for calling people names online…heat of the moment….another thing is to go to an international match in another country and take your anger out in a public, distasteful display….it’s plain and simply stupid!
To nisu ni huligani to su pičkice prave se frakeri pa kad im uđu policajci bježe i kriju se ko zečevi.
Mishko
I don’t know what that means but I love pizza.
@ U Boj, If it looks like shit and smells like shit, it most likely is shit. Niko takes orders from mamic who last i checked is a mafioso, so niko being his bitch boy puts him in the same boat, i said the man has a choice to make.
@Ante B. so now your an angry jew that hates pizza?
Not looking good for Luka.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2837512/Real-Madrid-midfielder-Luka-Modric-five-weeks-injury.html
From the Real Madrid FB website:
“After the imagining tests carried out by the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Service on Luka Modric, a tear of the left proximal rectus femoris tendon has been found. Pending a medical evaluation.”
And it happened. My first copy cat. That was not me above. Now I know what Ziva must feel like.
Davor Lovren?
I heard Mamic made a big investment in Russell Brown.
Honestly, I could care less for the repka and would gladly sacrifice the Euros if it gets rid of Mamic.
DINAMO u srcu!
@ Bobby V
I agree… Having said that Dejan Lovrens kid brother who I supposedly a top talent just signed with Mamic the other day. What’s going on there? Why would he do that?
“If they really want to piss off a nation with an empty stadium, they should let in opposing fans and not the home fans. Now that would be a sanction.”
Really? This happens every week in Croatia. And you wonder why all of that happened on Saturday?!
@ VC – not a bad idea.
I’d love to see Suker right about now, kissing Platini’s ass in order to hopefully keep the punishment to a minimum.
Not good for his future aspirations – all this will make him look as if he’s not in control and weak. Maybe the only good to come of this.
if they really want to piss off a nation with an empty stadium, they should let in opposing fans and not the home fans. Now that would be a sanction
Watch the savez schedule that closed door game in Split, just to be ‘cute’
The Savez won’t have to worry where we play the game against Italy. It will be in front of an empty stadium – guarenteed
At this time, the only people who can greatly influence Mamic to resign are the young upcoming players.
They are the ones feeding him. They are the ones that can take the spoon out of his mouth and let him starve by not signing with him.
We can sit and type shit all we want – none of it affects us. It is the young players like Robert Muric, who are the ones who deserve all the praise in the world.
Muric could have probably been a bit richer at this point in his life by signing with the idiot, but, his father, who hates Mamic, heavily advised him to give up more money, his family and his country for Ajax in Holland.
If more players did the same, it would be the end of Mamic – and it wouldn’t take too long.
sarma je cetnik placenicki
If he deserves to be fought against, they should fight. Is it wrong to fight for right? That rhymed.
Mr. Black
bang on, they would find someone else to fight, they just hate kovac, a diaspora running the show and not one of them, jebi ga
@Ivica
LOL, ok, Kovac listened to you. Whatever gets you through the day. 🙂
Do some of you even think before you post? One comparing Kovac to a mafioso, the other that these fans are “oppressed”. Incredible.
As for the player selection, no one expected Vida to start and he had an incredible game. Impressed that Kovac would start him.
Mr. Black,
Refer to the very first comment under Holiga’s article in the Guardian. There you’ll find all the answers.
Doktor Prie,
You probably won’t find a bigger fan of Croatia than me. But if Holiga is referring to those assholes at San Siro, he’s right. They’re not against Kovac, Suker or Mamic, it’s just about getting some attention. And yes, they’re stupid but they know that if they yell some fascist things, the world will listen to them. If Kovac, Suker and Mamic are gone, they’ll find someone new to fight against.
The solution? If they’re planning some actions for the game against in Italy, arrest them a few days earlier, make them suffer and keep them in prison until after the game. Show them absolutely no respect. And afterwards those idiots can try to get a job, which will be hard with their very limited IQ, and we, the decent Croatian people, can start to even bring their young kids to the games. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Another honest piece of journalism from professional antifascist Aleksandar Holiga.
Calling the excesses of certain Croatian supporters ‘terrorism’ now, are we? Nahh, that doesn’t smack of sensationalism.
Let me get this straight, so professional antifascists and cultural Marxist thugs like A.H. will be passing judgment on Croats and their history from herein?
What a fucking joke LOL.
@ Anonymous
Sure, they didn’t “lose” anything… Guess that’s in the eye of the beholder.
But what did they gain then? Are they going to threaten the HNS and say “Hey, if you don’t change things we’ll do this again.” That’ll be any easy spin for Mamic & Co. – all they have to say is these crazy right wing fans are trying to stir up trouble and look, they might cost the NT a game down the line!
I’m all for our ultras groups in the country (I mean, hell.. look at my user name) and getting this scum out of the picture. I normally applaud BBB/Torcida whoever else on the actions they take. As I mentioned earlier, this showing was not ‘smart’ and to beat this scum, you have to be clever.
Podrška navijačima!
could be serbs sabotaging us…..
BBB’s didn’t lose anything. It was a planned event and 4 football firms from the hnl were involved that i know of. BBB Torcida Funcuti Tornado. There might be more but am not sure.
Don’t call them fans my friend, djubre is more apt.
I’m all for bringing down Mamic and the criminal elements in and around our savez. Protest, signs at games, hey – they could physically threaten him for all I care. But let’s not forget, Mamic is clever and through all this, you will have to out-smart him in a way. He didn’t get to this point by accident. As others have mentioned, the media spin so far has this as a win for Mamic. I’m all for BBB’s efforts, but they “lost” this round and almost cost the NT the game….
The BBB and whoever else have to direct their energies towards Mamic & Co. I get the reasoning in what happened, but who did it affect the most? The players. Not Mamic, not the fans, not the fans. The players.
As VC put it, it just wasn’t “smart”. I mean if this group were more competitive and things worked out differently, what if the game was called off and Croatia were docked points and in the end, those points cost us a trip to the Euro’s?
is it worth potentially sabotaging an entire qualifying cycle to out this criminal element? and like Ziva, I’m ok with some slight “pain” (i.e. the Stimac debacle) for long term goals … but giving up a potential trip to the Euro’s would be A LOT… that’s not just some short term pain…..
i mean pound for pound, this is out most talented generation since the 90’s… and these fans are literally ok with pissing on all that and potentially not even giving this group a chance to make some noise at Euro 2016?
Throwing flares at the Italian players and fans and fighting with your own people is not a good way to protest anything. It makes you look disorganized and stupid. I saw them fighting with or own croatian fans during the whole thing too.
They travel to Italy and spend money to go there and buy tickets (which some im sure goes to HNS) only to do stupid shit like this which gives a bad image to the rest of the world. It doesn’t make anyone in the world talk about what is going on in Cro or the problems there. It makes them talk about how we have a group of idiot fans causing problems.
The real sad part is that up until then in the second half we totally dominated the Italians. And then that break happened and they had a chance to regroup. So they really only hurt our guys on the field. You can like Mamic and Suker and Kovac or hate them. But either way it was dumb. There were some anti HNS/Suker/Mamic chants going on which was fine. The atmosphere was great with singing and chanting and everything. But after this you could feel a different energy in our fans. Almost as if people were embarrassed for a while
i think what ante is saying is that there was certain peaceful attempts. which there was but you cant just give up on them like that, it takes time
Even if this regime is gone, other lopovi will simply take their place because that is what’s left of most of Croatia.
This reminds me of blacks who torch their own neighborhoods in demonstrations. Croatians are three levels dumber than this.
If you want to achieve your goal, doing the shit they did isn’t even for consideration. It just showed they’re a bunch of thugs looking for any excuse to pull that stunt.
@Ante B – We have the same agenda – just extremely different opinions on how to go about getting rid of him. Maybe we just leave it at that?
How about a sign asking for international support, or at least a sign thats a little deeper than “Mamicu cigane” and bullshit like that. This is not how you win support for your cause. it also doesnt happen overnight, things take time, but if you stick with it long enough and do it the right way things start falling into place.
For example: Take the gays, they have wanted equal rights for how long now. people kept kicking their ass, and saying now for for years. They stayed with their plan and slowly but surely they are winning the battle.
I am double majoring in journalism and sociology. that is why i am brought up that example. fyi
Zajedno za Dinamo anyone? Ring a bell. Let’s just attempt to remember some things that have already happened. Look at what the HNS is doing to Hajduk and now Futsal Dinamo
How are they oppressed? Yeah “only” about 2500 of them are banned which is about Torcida’s Sjever
@Mr.Black – thanks for your post. Attacking our own fans – wow.
The last anonymous, that was me.
@ Sude Mi – well said – post of the year.
Part 2.
So the men in black attacked these guys, of course after hiding their faces behind some clothing. I saw some of victims leaving with blood noses and black eyes. I talked to one of those guys. He wa in his early 20s and came with his friends from Sibenik to see this game. Although they were dressed in Croatian colors, they decided to leave San Siro, disgusted by what just happened.
Then the men in black started to yell that they were Ustachi. The men in black didn’t sing a lot. Only sometimes that they were Ustachi. The great atmosphere was gone at that time in our part of the tribune.
Then they started to throw flares. Of course the Italian police showed up. So “our brave men in black” fleed like little girls towards the public which they just chased away, they took place among the decent Croatian crowd who didn’t like this at all and went to another part of the tribune, followed by the Italian police. At some point, there was some panic. Things could have get worse, believe me. If we don’t act against those people, we’ll have a disaster one day;
After the game, I felt bad. We played splendid but we also could have the same great reputation as the Scottish fans, most of the Croatian fans or even Croatians are great. Because of some morons, we have a bad reputation.
The defenders of Croatia? I rather call them the problem of Croatia. Now I hear that the Italian police has arrested them. Can’t we start a petition “Italy, hang those idiots, they’re morons”? I saw their dumb faces. I don’t think one of them has a IQ of more than seventy.
We need to stand up and keep those idiots out of our beloved football; The Croatian federation will have to pay a fee. Suker won’t pick up the bill, the money will come from our youth development.
One more thing. Croatian teams have big problems to attrack fans. Could it be that people don’t want to be near those kind of idiots which we see yesterday.
They have already done that! Multiple times. Dal se tako bro sve zaboravi?
@ante
no disrespect or anything at all but how have they tried to win over the public? BBB is associated with hooliganism, lets face it it is a fact. What can they do to change this? do a community outreach program? how about a suit and ties and getting some educated ideas from educated people. If there is so much illegal work done by Mamic go to the high european courts especially if you feel like the croatian ones are just bullshitting you. Do you see how this is counter productive? what is a little monetary fine to HNS other than a little pain in the butt.
@Ante B
Oppressed? How? They can’t go watch a soccer game? They have a pretty good little life in Zagreb if that is the extent of their oppression.
See Vatrena Cast comments….I’m out, it doesn’t take balls to do what they did it takes balls to protest intelligently. Or better yet, you know what would take balls? Fire off those flares, unfurl a big banner on live tv re Mamic and then stand there and let the riot police go off on your head and show what you really stand for. No these guys with real balls ran away like rats climbing over one another to get away fro m the fuckin beating they so aptly deserved.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?
They have been trying do that since 2010!!! Do any of you follow what is actually going on or did the last five years go right down the drain?!?
@VC
Amen…..unfortunately, way beyond all the mouth-breathers on here.
Close, about 200 pounds away but it’s still better to be fat than a hypocrite, especially when you guys bitch about an event where some guys had the balls to actually do something than follow the status quo.
Sude mi,
Funny that’s the moniker you chose yet you’re judging these guys. Have any of you ever questioned why they would do it in the first place? This is what happens then the oppressed explode.
hold up a second, random thought.
Okay so the BBB are tired of being oppressed right? wouldnt it be more logical to plan a organized protest, it would be more accepted by higher powers. this bullshit of flare tossing is counter productive, because they are just labeled as bad guys again which is falling right into the hands of mamic. Mamic’s argument will be ” this type of behavior is why we banned them from the stadiums in the first place.”
the core to winning this battle is to win over the public and they will not be doing that by this type of behavior.
I am all for taking down mamic and company but they have to be smart about it. BBB need some leaders that have some education and not just muscle. Raise awareness the right way and not by doing it this way.
MAMIC AND HNS WINS AGAIN. Sad and counter-productive but before you bash me think about it.
@Ante B – What are you up to 400 pounds by now? You haven’t seen your balls in 20 years – the fuck are you going to comment on the rest of ours,
Nothing like flares on the field to start up the greater Croat debate between you, Ziva and the Doktor. You guys were bleeding thru your panties last night.
Fuck you.
Call a spade a spade. These idiots gave Croats a black eye the world over, full stop. I’ll go through a brick wall for any Croatian who is unjustly treated, but when someone steps over the line and does shit like this, then they are what they are, fucking idiots irrespective of their nationality.
You keep on blindly defending morons. Fucking dope.
Zato sto ih nisam izgubil…tebi je ocito netko opral mozak. Zelis bit posten i kurva u isto vrijeme
Ante B
Huh? Ja mislim da je te neko udaril u glavu sa mokrom krpom….
Our fans.
I was in Milan, the trouble just started in front of me. This is how I saw it.
Two hours before the game, I entered San Siro. The atmoshere was great. Girls, boys, women and men, diaspora Croats and Hrvati from Croatia were singing and having fun. Most of them wore Croatian jerseys and there was a great understanding, a happy time. One hour before the game, some guys dressed in black made their appearance. They started a fight with the people who were there already. The men in black needed the space.
More to follow.
Hi,
I was at the game in Milan yesterday. We had a great time.
About the game.
We should have won easily and if Modric wasn’t injured after 30 minutes, we probably would have won. He was amazing before his injury.
Rakitic was splendid too, the best man on the pitch.
The only player who doesn’t belong in this team is Pranjic. If you’re at the game, you see that even better.
Subasic didn’t impress me neither. The goal was not his fault but how he brings the ball back into the game, he needs to improve that.
Kovacic, I don’t know, he does some greqt things but too often he loses the ball.
I can see why Brozovic plays. When Srna or Pranjic move forward, he’s the guy who steps in and takes over that position behind.
Kramaric and sometimes Perisic were too selfish. Although I can see why Perisic attempts a lot. He’s our best finisher.
Final conclusion: Kovac and his team did well. Kovac deserves our support.
My second post will be about our ‘fans.”
THWAP!
That’s the sound of where most of your balls used to be.
Right wing activism has spread all over Europe.
http://www.wboc.com/story/27354769/215-arrests-in-warsaw-clashes-on-polish-holiday
why doesn’t Holiga cover the Serbian National team. I love how this person injects himself into our team. We writes like we give a dam about his opionions. Go over the Sava Holiga.
@sude mi
Agreed with everything you said. I was at the game yesterday and got patted down. There was tons of security and cops so how people continue to be able to sneak this stuff in amazes me the most. Obviously the majority of the blame has to go towards the small group of idiots who did this and continue to do it. But at the same time shouldn’t the host team take some responsibility for lack of security.
It also wasn’t only croatian fans who had flares it’s true. During the italian anthem there were some flares and fireworks lit off by italian supporters. But they didn’t throw any on the field and towards our players. There was a flare that was close to hitting one of the firemen and a firework that was fairly close (at least from where I was sitting) to hitting Buffon
Thanks to the 17 BBB geniuses sitting in the drunk-tank in Milan…..svaka im cast!
Ugh. Another Holiga article just came out.
It starts off trying to explain the reasons why the fans did this… Then goes off on a tangent talking about Ustasha, Za Dom Spremni, Jewish Concentration camps, and Big Joe.
@ Bobby V
Other than those in the know (like this forum’s readers) does anyone who would really matter even relate yesterday’s stupidity to a Mamic protest?
None of the commentators I listed to in Canada had any clue (that is in-game and on the panel
)….none of the British tabloids have mentioned the nature of the “protest.”
That is what is truly idiotic about this, the fucking idiots if they really wanted to make a statement should have been singing from the rafters to the world the nature of their “protest.” But of course, that would take courage.
This was like running through the streets naked as a sign of protest over the insane increase in the price of beer…..duh!
and Index is a legit medium, boys… cmon!
i mean they were the first to uncover the Severina scandal…! that was journalism at it’s best!
Mamic has made the trains run on time.
guys, Mamic has Dinamo winning the Prva Liga every year and has turned Dinamo into a talent factory, why try and out him?????
17 Bad Blue Boys members are now in a jail in Milan until Wednesday. Don’t see any mention of Torcida or Tornado.
The whole problem is that it should not be up to the supporters groups to take on Mamic.
Where are the other higher ranking government officials who can rid of him legally?
…and where are the underworld leaders who can rid of him illegally?
This guy has one of the biggest defense shields in modern Mafia history. To be doing this for so long and in such a public way is really amazing.
I wonder what part of the GDP in Croatia revolves around him? Fuck, unemployment would rise by a few percentage points if he were to be removed,
@King Bronk
Fault is with the idiot fans, stadium security and the various bodies like UEFA, and the Italian and Croatian Federations.
1. Idiot “fans” – enough said….idiots are idiots.
2. Saw Cro beat England at Wembley in ’07 London….no better model to copy than what the Englezi have done cleaning up their hooligans….I could not have smuggled a paperclip in my rectum if I wanted to in that place!
3. UEFA – given all the money that is made on these tournaments, that they don’t have a minimum contribution to what type of security is required (full body cavity search if necessary; open the stadiums 4 hours in advance) is ridiculous.
4 Italian Federation – it’s your fucking stadium, as mentioned above what the fakc are you doing when people walk through to ensure no contraband enters.
5. Croatian Federation – if you can’t weed out the bad element, then don’t accept any tickets for out of country games until you can contribute to appropriate security. Yes, I know the innocent suffer but that’s life….take the draconian approach until this shit gets cleaned up.
It can be cleaned up, but it takes money and a will…..money exists, does the will all around?!?!?
DID ANYONE SEE THE GREEN LAZERS BEING AIMED AT RAKATIC’S EYES?
@Allen
Yea. The goal happened because Brozović left his post to assist Ćorluka (who didn’t need the assistance). He probably took him aside to say WTF in a nice way. Unfortunately, Brozović is not a DM so he’s learning on the job in his new position.
Also, How hard is it to station some trained dogs near the entrance to sniff these flares out?
Personally I feel this incident is the fault of the Italian Federation. They must have the worst security team since President Kennedy. How on earth can these guys get that many flares into the stadium? I am stunned that this is not a talking point. If they can sneak that many flares in, what about bombs or guns? In this climate of terrorism I am stunned by the ineptitude of stadium security. If you paid attention to the Italian national anthem their supporters were also lighting flares. The fault of this should come down squarely on stadium security which was as bad as the play of their national team.
Rewatched some of the game now. Still thought it was a great performance, but some things never change. Srna’s crosses were really disappointing. Couldn’t even get past the first defender. He’s still decent enough for one more tournament, but I really hope that’s it for him.
The criticism for Kovacic is harsh. He tried to make something happen when Italy were playing literally seven to eight players in the back. At least he tried to make something happen, despite being unsuccessful. It didn’t cost them in the end.
Pretty interesting after the first goal, Corluka immediately pulled Brozovic aside to talk to him. It must have been about him failing to close down the first goal. Still good to see their at least communicating.
Despite all the political BS that’s going on, national team still seems relatively united. Can’t see how this isn’t a positive performance to look back on, especially without Modric.
Mamic is just trying to run a business by making a profit and putting a good product on the field. What we see here is the same old Yugo attitude that is displayed by the Croatian government. They have no idea how to turn a profit.
you need to find a rusty ice pick
and jam it in your eye socket
bog
the anon with the long rant was me, jebi ga
Having watched most of it again, we really should have put italy away, they arent much chop but we lack that killer instinct and have done for a long time, we’ve only ever had it in patches. Is Niko the one to instil this into the team? On what we have seen so far i dont think so, we looked the better team but he didnt convince the players of that and well how can he when he doesnt trust them? He may love pranja for who knows what reason, but he doesnt have faith in his ability to do the job which is why we have the team covering for him, which is never a good scenario.
While we looked the better team there still isnt a cohesion about the play, this probably stems from the talent is carrying us factor, most of us have probably been on a team that has been talented and lacked a coach, so we the players work out a structure, have certain tactics in place etc etc and it works for a while, in the NT we have a whole lotta talent but the leadership still has a massive question mark hanging over it
im a broken record so ill say it again, that little shit stain with the lip tattoo has to be shown the door, now this wont happen so lets pray that some mishap in training leaves him unable to play for the next 12 months. He cant defend, he runs scared at one point he ran away from the attacker and left Mandzo to chase him. The goal we conceded watch what he does he is scared to get hit by the ball, so instead of going at the man and effecting his decision to shot he turns and goes in the opposite direction. He goes at the play and effects the block or at least puts him off he probably doesnt score but pranja made the conscious choice to shirk it. Now juxtapose that with Vida who was willing to do what needed to be done, sure he has his flaws but at least he can do a job. Again people speak of his attacking prowess he has none, when going to take a player on he loses the ball, he has many missed unrealistic passes, his crosses are useless between him and Srna shelling in the crosses we have no chance of exploiting that. But he is niko’s boy and official mouthpiece of the NT so we can expect to see him around a while yet.
Ola and Srna dont start anymore, time to hand over the captaincy and hand over RB to Vrsaljko, Srna should be used as a sub in a wing role from here on in, it may lead to some better crosses. Ola we all love him and he gives it his all but we cant expect him to run around for 60-70 even 90 minutes any more, he can be a handy sub especially with the defensive aspect he brings to the game.
Brozovic/Badelj, cant judge badelj on todays minutes, personally i have always maintained that he should be given a proper shot. As for Brozovic if he wasnt a dinamo player he wouldnt be there and thats not me saying he is a bad player, he is solid no doubt about it and good to have for depth. If he goes and plies his trade elsewhere and adds to his skill set he may become a permanent option but right now he still isnt deserving of a starting 11 spot.
Niko has to make a choice, is he a mafioso or is he a coach? he cant be both. Now while i will always hold what he did in brazil against him i will give him a chance to get some cred back, but he has to make some choices. The moment he drops pranja from the squad he will get some respect, then he has choose players based on what we need and not what others want. He has to be an authority figure and respected even feared a bit, but no need for a dictator. As i said its hard to know where we are at because we have a fair amount of talent which can mask issues. Watch this space.
We will get hit with a monetary sanction, us Hajduk fans can look forward to seeing Hajduk get hit with more fines etc etc, we have to be smarter than the govna we want to get rid of, flares on the field wont solve the problem, in fact it just allows those shit stains to further their agendas. UEFA is part of the problem, i dont see them hitting us with anything more than fines, they are in league with Mamic. As for what Ziva mentioned about Mamic players, which ones would they be? Lets not forget these kids sign contracts because they are naive and just want to play football. Many of them may be genial on the field that doesnt translate to them having any business acumen especially at that age, they got fucked over. Im not sure what can be achieved by going at them, the fish begins to stink from the head, go to the source
maybe suker will jump ship before it sinks if indeed it is
but its true if they want to cause more shit they certainly can and will in cro
i am torn… i want to see this group play strong, obviously qualify and do something… but i hate corruption and it seems mamic represents all that is evil in cro
This group of rebels amongst our fans has made a point. Without their consent Croatia is not going to participate at the Eurocup or in other future competitions. We will get disqualified eventually. Suker and Mamic will not give up their positions. I am sad that our national team and country will be used as a platform for these “fans” to push their agenda. What Mamic and Suker are doing is not good, but I feel what these guys are doing is worse. Mamic is making millions on the backs of his group of players, but millions of true Croatia fans will be left with a huge vacuum that will fill with sadness and despondency and regret for what Croatia could have achieved.

ya that is true… always loved olic and mario for that tenacity… like two rabid pitbulls
Mario ran like an animal and forced a lot of shitty passes from the Italians. Olic seemed to do that better than Kramaric too. Probably why he started. Our D starts at the top of the field with those two.
kramaric didn’t have much of a chance to get into the game… honestly did you really notice mario much? i guess now that i think of it… saw lot of rakitic, not just the free kicks… he seemed like he was very involved… hopefully this is just something that will keep growing
Thought all 3 subs (Kovacic, Kramaric, Badelj) performed poorly. Kramaric showed me nothing, Kovacic looked lost as usual and tried doing too much, and watching Badelj today just made me appreciate Brozovic more.
Awesome team performance though!
hopefully its some money loss… we are not there to know the full struggles… it sucks that it has to be done the way they are doing it but maybe it needs to be done. again i dont know full croatian politics but this mamic thing seems like its just an extenstion of the struggles of the croatian people with the commies and jugolovers in charge.
i hope they can being to win the war but with little cost to the team… but you know surely that we can afford to drop points and still qualify so like ziva said more shit has to go down.
right now it appears like just some drunk cro fans probably fighting italians… id say much of the soccer world doesn’t know whats going on.
seriously kovac, while doing ok… we are superior to the competition thus far and players are doing it. i sure as shit someone exploits pranjic bad now rather then at euros… id much rather have italy put 2 goals in through his side now then the germans at euro.
we have a legitimate chance of doing something in europe… spain, italy, england, holland are all beatable no doubt germans would be our toughest test… everyone else with the right coaching and the right croatia showing up we can win the whole thing
Keep referencing them, uljezu.
One Serbia reference + one Index link = two “Fuck You’s” from the Doktor in 1/2 hour.
I’d like to see anybody try and top that.
These “assholes” don’t care if we were close to winning. They have their own agenda.
Flares aside it was I was happy with the draw. I hope Olic is relegated to the bench. The guy is a legend but he looked terrible. Bring on Kramaric!
The most concerning thing I took away from this game was the inability to feed Mandzukic.
For the flares… I will always love the enthusiasm, but the NT had Italy on the back foot when the flares were thrown and after the break, Italy came out firing. Did those assholes cost the NT a win?
hahahaha
Using any original content from Index is always laughable. LOL………….jebiga, I love some of you guys. You give me great entertainment.
Ok, that is it for me. Time to go upstairs and see what Mama Istina made for a dinner. Hoping the bitch made something good.
INDEX is a George Šoroš owned and operated medium, by their own admission, in Croatia. You stupid fuck.
Fuck you and INDEX, you dumb fuck. If you knew who owns and runs Index, you’d never cite it. Wait, you would.
Jebo te Matija Babić (Srbin) u šupak. And Zvonko Alač (jugoslaven), and Dea Redžić (balinka). Budalo jedna, nepismena.

Cocksuckers don’t have an honest day’s work among them all.
Keep dreaming, bro.
I’ve heard all sides about Bauer, Hrnjak, Sarma and all of them. The thing is I personally don’t believe their personal intentions aren’t bad for the greater good.
Fuck you and Serbia. Jebali te Srbi. Oni su mjera samo za polusrbe i njihove robove.
Remember what happened to Serbia when the Grobari acted up in Italy a few years ago.
Because it was a higher profile match, it will be more than just a fine – you can bet on it.
To ćeš ti platiti od partizanske penzije što ti djed prima.
Another thing to consider here is what UEFA is going to do. Will it be a financial fine for us, home game without fans or even a points deduction. Financial fine is most likely, but I wouldn’t rule out the others.
Živa špijunčina, none of the communication you speak of is confidential. Stop selling yourself as an insider. You are clowning yourself.
And the next time I’m in your town, I’m going to smack the shit out of you.
@Bobby V…….believe what you want. I got my guys in the know. If anyone wants to see proof, they can send me a DM message on my twitter account and I’ll show you some of the communication that took place in the days leading up to the game.
Personally, i would love for the Italy or the Norway game to take place in Split and we have some good theater. This is all a result of inept leadership from the Croatian hierarchy. We have a clown in puppet Suker whose goals in life are to cover his gambling debts, continue covering up the bastard child he fathered years ago and to get on the FIFA executive committee.
Živa spijunčina, what you spew is inaccurate. All the groups are still at odds and will continue to be at odds. NO true navijač is out to hurt the “repka.” Only the dirty, selfish and crooked sub-groups.
Torcida, for instance, has a problem with pro-communists and pro-Serbs that are more than happy to help Bauer “take on Mamić” for their own dirty ends.
Don’t paint all members of the groups with the same brush.
@U boj
Hey, thanks to our critical nature, Kovac listened to what the fans and the media suggested to him over and over again…and it lead to him making changes and playing better these past couple of months.
If we all did what you did, then Kovac would still be rolling out Sammir in the midfield and playing Rakitic as a defenceman.
We’re going to continue to call him out on his mistakes, and he’ll eventually replace Pranjic and we may just end up playing with our full strength starting eleven at the Euros.
P.S. You’re Welcome.
@Bobby V……..you are wrong. BBB, Tornado and Torcida all view Mamic as the common enemy and they will find common ground. If you don’t think they are willing to hurt the repka to get their point across, you are crazy.
Spoke with two Torcida members who told me that they were willing to get together with the BBB in Croatia for a couple of rallies/photo shoots to help their cause.
Now their saying that it might have been mistake to do so because Torcida don’t want to seen as hurting the national team.
They told me an internal battle between the leaders is going on.
Don’t claim to know any more than that – a far cry from Ziva having someone inside the Savez 🙂
this type of behavior is nothing new, shit happens all the time. These guys have been doing this way before this was a “mamic” issue. This is what hooligans do they get drunk and cause trouble. Now I love the navijaci that sing dance do what ever, but when you disrupt the play on the pitch, racist chants, and confederate flags, like i said lot of these dudes are criminals thugs mafija, I dont respect them.
Incredible. Team playing good and in first place and you pussies still bitch about Kovac, HNS and the team. Broken record.
It must really piss so many of you that the team is in first place.
@Bobby,
Yes, after Modric went down Rakitic definitely did take on ‘some’ defensive responsibilities, but he was still pulling the strings in our central midfield on offense (as Kovacic was rather pedestrian at times) with Brozovic playing the role of full-time DM. Rakitic during the World Cup was mega-deep and was at times side-by-side with our CBs. He wasn’t doing that this game.
Ante B., the problem with some of the anti-Mamić elements is that they are no better than Mamić. Some. I stress. Pussies like the kike Thomas Bauer that leads many BBB by the nose…
For his own dirty kike interests.
You do realize that Rakitic had an excellent game – from a deeper midfield position that he took over from Modric – not from where he started the game which was behind Mandzukic.
Now I hope 10,000 times more that the game against Italy is in Split. Guaranteed all groups will come together again but next time it will be even better.
Bobby V,
How are you sure of that? I can almost guarantee you this was a joint effort. Didn’t you see that there was more groups of fans setting off the flares besides the ones by the BBB banner? Some were at the higher lever, others at the bottom. Ring a bell?
No Pranjic, No Jelavic, No Sammir, No Lovren, and No Rakitic at DM.
Critics have been saying the above things since June.
All Kovac has done was listen to them (except for the Pranjic advice).
I still won’t give Kum Kovac credit. Modric getting injured forced his hand with Rakitic. Plus, we have more talent in our starting 11 than Italy. All Kum Kovac had to do was stay out of the way.
I’m not saying he was bad today, he wasn’t. But, he wasn’t perfect either.
No real Torcida or Tornado member would sit behind a Bad Blue Boys banner and chuck flares onto the field for the sole reason of using a higher platform to help the BBB in the removal of Mamic.
Torcida and Tornado could give a fuck about Dinamo Zagreb’s problems. Most of them are upset that the national team is now being hijacked and are thrilled that there hopefully won’t be any games in Zagreb for awhile.
There’s about 45 members of BBB, 3 guys from Split and 2 from Zadar and they would have you believe that it’s a group effort. That’s total bullshit.
Torcida and Tornado wouldn’t mind seeing Mamic go, but, not at the expense of hurting the national team.
If Mamić doesn’t abdicate, he will end up like Gaddafi. Mark my words.
@Brkic
Yes, but what were the major points that the critics were throwing at Kovac during and after the World Cup failure?
– That he should be playing Rakitic in a more advanced role (not full-time DM)
– That he should stop playing Pranjic at LB
– That he should not be calling up (let alone starting) Sammir
– That he should not be starting Jelavic
Aside from the four biggest points above. Some in the media, also called to end the Modric/Rakitic/Kovacic trifecta in the central midfield together. Others also called for him to stop playing Lovren.
Kovac has actually listened to the fans and media, and implemented some of these changes. Once he made these changes (most notably the Rakitic change) we suddenly improve. He still hasn’t made the Pranjic change, and that is still a major weakness that will eventually be exploited against a good offensive team.
You may be a Kovac believer, but the only good thing Kovac ever did was sticking with Perisic on the wing prior to the World Cup. Another good thing is it seems that Kovac has toughened up our players and is making them run more (and teaching them not to flop). Vida pretty much breaking his ribs and his face today showed this.
I will always give credit to Kovac for sticking with Perisic (as I am a huge Perisic backer, and I hate floppers) and toughening our players up a bit…but most of the improvements you noticed came AFTER Kovac finally bit the bullet and implemented most of the changes that all the criticizing fans and media threw at him.
Kovac is still learning on the job. If he listens to the criticism, we will improve…but I don’t expect him to outcoach anyone at Euro2016. He may pick a good starting eleven after all this ‘advice’ the Cro media has been more than happy to provide him, and we may end up doing well, but a lot of it will depend on the draw and I’m afraid if he ever crosses paths with an equally good team and a better coach, we’re done.
If only something magical can happen and the players on NT refuse to play until Mamic is removed. Sick of these soap operas/political garbage overshadow games.
7000 Croats of the ZDS variety turn San Siro into a Croatia home match, and the lot of you are toeing the party line (communist) of outright condemnation.
Fans were amazing until the anti-Mamić elements fcked shit up.
Acting like you’ve never seen it before. So many spineless fucks among so called “Croatians.” Our shit always stinks worse, doesnt it?
This was in the works for a while and it will only continue. The tension against the savez is only mounting and at some point something really big is going to happen.
The savez is going to be under pressure where to put the home match against Italy. If they put it in Split, expect the hardcore elements of the BBB and Torcida to again come together and try to do something. At that point this will come down to how much resistance the police and ministry want to provide or if they are willing to allow something to happen where it does give a black eye to Mamic, Puppet Suker and the savez. It will be along the lines of we don’t see anything, so go ahead and do what you want before we have to respond.
Their goal is removal of Mamic and the only way they think that can happen is by doing damage to the national team.
Now, as for this incident. I wonder what, if anything, UEFA will do to punish the savez. I’m sure Puppet Suker is trying to gain their sympathy and explain that this is being done to get him out of power.
Either way, great theater.
By the way, now you guys know why I refuse to sit with the average fan. This is why I prefer seats in the lounge section.
Pranjić has dirt on Kovač. There’s no other explanation why he insists on starting a gaping defensive liability.
Kramarić: best scorer in Europe. Doesn’t start.
FAIL.
Proud? Come on. Stop with aspersions. Fans were fucking amazing up until the chucking began.
Well said MP.
@Ante B.
Lets have a real discussion about the “fans” of croatia. The good fans are the ones who come and cheer for the vatreni, sing all game, drink, have a good time. The hooligans are no different then thugs. In croatia its is well know that BBB and torcida are full of a bunch of dipshit thugs causing problems. You know the dudes sitting in sjever at the hajduk games with confederate flags and making monkey noises, same guys that beat the shit out of eachother for no reason. Yea those guys are nothing to be proud of.
kovac has to be commended.
he clearly one the tactics battle
it looked like croatia was playing 11 on 7 for most of the game
one question though: i thought kovac would gather around his players during the game breka. he just seemed to wonder around though no?
the break gave conte a chance to regroup
These morons think that going to other countries and chanting and cursing about shit that no one even knows what you’re talking about is gonna accomplish something?unreal .And being ballsy is not throwing shit on a field ,that’s being a coward no matter who does it .Has nothing to do with being ashamed of your country. Love my country but of you’re proud of these morons you got issues.
The Kovac criticism has been warranted until now. They underachieved under Kovac until Azerbaijan. I figured that performance was a fluke bc of the opposition, but after this game and the B-side game against Argentina, I’m starting to believe. This is the first time in a long time that I have felt this group could amount to something special. Until now it has just been a few outstanding individuals who could not gel as a team. I do agree with the comments about player selection, some of the old guard needs to step aside and allow the next generation to gain experience for the Euros.
Kovacic tried to dribble through the bunker too many times.
He is better at galloping through a more open midfield.
I was not thrilled to see Pranjic starting at LB, but he wasn’t awful. I would still prefer someone else there.
Italy was weak, but a decent opponent would have exposed him.
As much as I like Olic, he needs to be fazed out.
I thought Srna was good tonight. Hustled and provided decent service/passing.
Antwerp,
Italy had already recovered and regrouped. Then the pyro-show happened.
@Ivica
The flares are fine. But don’t throw them onto the field towards the players.
Flares are great. But don’t launch ’em.
Maybe it’s the savage Croat in me, but I LOVE flares. I think they’re awesome, and I think our fans need to light ’em up every game. But they shouldn’t have thrown them on the field. Just keep it in the stands.
Positives this game: Vida, Rakitic, Perisic
Vida just took Lovren’s starting spot for good. He played like a hockey defenseman out there. Kicked in the ribs, blocking a shot with his face, and ZERO flopping. Very impressed with him today.
Perisic is aggressive as hell. Our midfield tends to over-pass too often and takes too long waiting for that perfect chance that never comes. Perisic is like that aggressive Dalmatinac rudely pushing his way to the front of the line at a ticket counter. He may be a ball hog, but he’s guaranteed to register at least three shots per game (and at least one goal). A shame he couldn’t finish the last chance there, but the dude still scored today (just as he’s done in the previous games and World Cup).
As expected, Rakitic is THRIVING now that he’s no longer a full-time DM. Kovac finally swallowing his pride, and listening to the fans and media on that one. No dropoff in the midfield after Modric left.
Negatives this game: Olic, Srna, Brozovic, and Pranjic.
None of these guys played too poorly, but they should have done better.
– Srna’s crosses just pissed me off all game. I really want to see what Vrsaljko or Jedvaj can bring to our RB spot…but neither of them ever get any time (even off the bench). It’s a shame because I think they are hungry (as proven by their play against Argentina).
– Pranjic has looked deceptively good these past two games, but it’s only because we completely dominated possession in both of these games so he’s just really being going entirely on the offense. Defensively…He hasn’t been defending AT ALL. This will bite us in the ass during tournament play.
– Brozovic, I thought was ok, but that first goal scored on his was by his man. He was caught in no man’s land on that play trying to help Corluka (who didn’t really need the help) and left the middle wide open. Rookie mistake.
– Olic was largely invisible, and should NEVER play the Right Wing position. He’s always invisible when he plays there. This is moreso Kovac’s fault for playing him there. He should just be a direct substitute for Mandzukic.
In my opinion kovacic was horrible today and has not looked good lately. As for the brozovic bashing ,I don’t get it he looks OK to me.Kramaric should have started .
Just got back from the game tonight. It was a small group of people who threw flares and fireworks onto the field. A lot of the other fans were yelling at them and annoyed as well. The police moved in fairly quickly. Once the game was over no croatian fans (that were in the fan section) were allowed to leave for about half an hour. There was heavy police around the stadium and our section. Lots of anti HNS, Mamic and Suker chants all day.
I just think pranjic olic are dead weight and offer nothing its 2014 going into 2015 I hope after the italy game in june we will be qualyfied and NK starts building 2016 Vrsaljko Jedvaj Leovac Leskovic Mitrovic Tomecak should be given looks Mocinic Males Halilovic Pjaca Pasalic Catkas Coric Muric Perica Santini Rebic Livaja and maybe get Hrgota if not late man what potential mixed with some A team standards i idemo
Please, stop with the false moralization and hypocrisy?
Shame? Over what? Were you there? Did you commit the “crime?”
Croatian = no complexes and no guilty conscience. Grow a set, man.
Kovač was fine, not great. Antwerp mentioned our spell. Had we had a capable attacker on the field, we would have won the match. Kramarić came on too late. In fact, he should have started. By all logic and honest criteria.
Our fans were absolutely fantastic up until the flare-throwing.
Unneccesary. Leave the dynamo, hajduk and Mamić bullshit back in Hrvatska.
Yeah sude what can you do .I also wonder why when this shit happens not one commentator or any writer ever brings up how nowadays with all this security and technology these assholes bring this shit into these stadium. But we all know they let them bring it in on purpose.
Kovac was greet. Interesting how the past year all the shots against him but now those people are silent. Those assholes are just that. Not fans. Love how Kovac walked out on the field and confront them.
Amen MP! Embarrassment to the great Croatian nation, shame they all weren’t beaten like fucking dogs.
No Marko I didn’t take her last name (Del Core), but rather she took Tarabocchia. Nonetheless, my parents told me the reason where two spellings of my last name exist. As for the game, Croatia played well and could have easily won, but for now the draw is ok.
What a bunch of assholes embarrassing all of us like that.
I was hoping that the police would have beat the shit out of every one of them that had a hand in it.
Because of these idiots we will end up being banned from euro.
And then some clowns will say ,oh its making a point about mamic and co! What a joke. When you’re team is playing great throw flares at them .Grown boys acting likefucking morons.Kovac should have pulled them off the field .We have four million brain surgeons that all know better than any coach we’ve ever had.
More what tonight? Criminals protesting criminals? Idiotic.
Will have more tonight. Unable right now to comment
Just to be clear i have no doubt mamic and suker are bad for the savez, but this mob mentality will solve nothing except continue to give Croatian football a bad name! Sad.
MP Doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
@ Ziva
So if they were all in on it. What was their motive? To sabotage the Repka? In order to get back at Suker and Mamic?
I get the funny feeling that there’s a lot more to this story than meets the eye….
We had one of our best spells prior to the flares being thrown. When the game got interrupted, it gave the Italians a chance to regroup.
Mamic and suker accused of criminal activities, all of this bs by bbb, torcida, etc just another form of mafia….if they ever got rid of the element in the savez they don’t like they would find someone else that dodnn’t turn their crank….thry used to call this fascosm.
A
Coming from within BBB, Torcida and Tornado. ……they all were in on this and more to follow…..the players who are tied with Mamic could be targets next.
Just a question Ziva in terms of where are you getting these sources from?
great performance by the team
no team has won in san siro in 15 years. cro came a foot away on a perisic strike from doing it
they dominated possession
most interesting is how quickly cro got the ball back when they lost it
vida really solid defensively. terrible technical player. but at least knows not to be cute
norway sits on 9 points. automatic second place still not clear
Kovac is the beast. Bravo bravo.
Yes, probably his best game for the repka….now, time to see more of it or was his play so good because of no Modric….
This has nothing to do with the players, at least those not connected to Mamic. More will follow this is what I am being told.
This was allowed intentionally…how is it that with today’s security, cameras, surveillance etc that they cannot pinpoint exactly who threw the flares and hold the individuals responsible and ban then from games?…furthermore how are these flares able to enter the game? Same thing happened in Serbia…I don’t remember his name but some hooligan Serb supporter was banned from games yet he was at the Albania game stirring up shit…soccer is preplanned the same as zivas favorite backyard wrestling matches…just see Jorge Havelinge’s (ex fifa president) comments about previous world cups
New, or maybe naïve? I guess I don’t get what has to come at the cost of the players?
Very fitting that Rakitic had a pretty productive game and Ziva doesn’t make note of it…
What is the issue????? Are you new to this……you really don’t know what the issue is?
as for the game……great result. But let’s settle down a bit. Italy was without Polo and they look to be in a transition phase. Still, taking points on Italian soil during a live, active rubber is still impressive.
Perisic is awesome. Shame for that missing chance, but he’s been awesome lately.
Ziva, what is the issue?
@soul champ
bravo for the comments, the positive comments from you brate, appreciated by many except a few 🙂
don;t forget we were missing Modric most of the game and we did well
majority of our fans are very good but a few ruin it for everyone, Italian press was even saying the majority gave no problems except that bunch with the flares, shameful
Hvala Vama za sve:
Olić
Srna
Pranjić
Sve najbolje !
Kovac took a conservative approach to transitioning to a new era.
That era is now upon us.
We are in first place with +5 goal differential .
Special thanks to Rakitic for being BEAST!
Perisic was awesome and could have made history tonight alas was not meant to be.
2015 we secure first place and a seeded spot in Euro’s.
Bog I Hrvati !
no way bunch of idiiots from bbb to torcida were part of this, shameful behaviour from both, this was not required
bright side is the team played well and kovac is for real, great game in Italy, they should be proud of how they played and first place going into xmas
If u guys think BBB did this alone, you are crazy and uninformed. This was a combined effort and more is expected for our home matches. I am getting details on it now.
I hope Kovac is starting to prove some of us, including myself, wrong.
The team is running hard and playing well, even though you have to question some of the players Kovac selects.
Great to see Rakitic freed up to play a more attacking role.
@AllenOutraged
Marco Veratti.
One of their top players
Great comments Vatrena Cast and JP, couldn’t agree more.
It’s a shame a dominant performance will now to go waste because of politics. Really such a shame. Still proud of the team, particularly Rakitic who seemed to be man of the match. Perisic and Vida also were outstanding for the most part. Vida was challenging every ball and put his head on the line to defend shots at times. For them to lose out on Modric and still remain in control was really well done.
I’m not buying the whole talk of Italy missing out on their first team. Besides Pirlo and Barzagli, who is on their first team that was missing? Ballotelli give me a break.
I can accept a point. Should have won it in the end, but they’ll be fine. Step in the right direction from a team perspective. Sadly from a political perspective, the worst has yet to come….
In my mind the most heartening thing about our team is that we now have a system, which by definition transcends any one player. See the fact that we didn’t fall apart after Luka left as some support for this premise. This is a revelation for us, and bravo to NK both for devising it and implementing it.
Our b team played the same system and we almost took down the burrachos. If we run and press, with our technical skills and natural physical presence, we’re a threat to beat anyone on any given day, and we’ll readily handle mediocre competition, like we did the Italians today.
Even though are fans are obviously idiots, the Italian “security” is to blame for this too.
Croatia looked great today, especially on defence and midfield. They need a bit more finish, however that I assume will come with practice.
As for the “fans,” well can’t we ever watch a freakin Croatia game without worrying about the fans taking over? Can football please be football sometimes. If there is a message you want to send, there are other ways to do it that don’t risk costing the guys on the field in some big way.
If the team keeps playing like this, I think we can do well in Euro. If the minority of fans keep acting like hooligans, we will be lucky if we are even allowed in Euro.
I prefer Brozovic to Badelj.
Also don’t think Pranjic is so bad.
Haven’t seen enough Strinic lately to say he deserves to start over Pranjic.
Fact is we’re not deep at that position.
Olic brings defense from an attacking position.
Not many forwards can do it like him.
Him and Mandzukic are awesome at forcing shit passes into the midfield.
In the 2nd half up until the flares we thrown we were dominating possession thanks in large part to the pressure those 2 put on the Italian defenders when they were on the ball.
It’s one thing to sing and chant, another thing to throw flares onto the pitch and disrupt a match. Happened last time we played the wops too when we were on the brink of pulling off something big. Most of the BBB / Torcida are brain dead idiots.
Anyone that supports these fools and today’s actions is an idiot. You can create a sick atmosphere without resorting to that.
Three things cost us from winning the match. 1) The injury to Modric, 2) The flares from the BBB, 3) The Italian flopping which was bought every time by the Dutch ref.
Did you guys watch the slow-motion replays of those bullshit dives – and not one word from the FoxSports commentators. It really slowed the game down – it was the only thing Italy could do because of their non-existent midfield.
Well done on Kovac to call out those idiot fans of ours, the majority were good but you have about 50 who want to throw flares and make us look foolish. Just to cause trouble. Sramota.
Kovac all the way. Congrats to him, his staff and the players. .
Yeah sharbini should play LOLLLLL now I’ve read it all.
One day you guys call them the best fans in the world…then they’re hooligans. You’re nothing but hypocrites. This is what happens when the oppressed explode..
Our supporters did us proud.
We are no better than the serbs
Italy played for a draw? Really? That is your assessment?
Italy sucked. Pure and simple. The only thing we didn’t have was that last killer pass to unlock them. We were so much better than Italy away, it was ridiculous. If not for the mental midgets who masquerade as our fans, our momentum would not have been derailed.
Good tie on the road, well done to all except the morons who pose as navijaci.
Croatia wins this group, hands down.
well done suker, kovac, hns, shame on the fans,
Should be lucky italy played for draw
vida brozovic sharbini should play next game vs italy
pranjic time to go for vrsajko
olic aswell is done for sharbini
Olic is past it, did you not watch the friendly against Argentina we have young players who should get the chance to play.
On Pranjic:
He did do well today, but Italy sat back for 80% of that match. I think Vrsaljko will be in permanently by Euro. Say what you want about Vida, that guy played his heart out tonight.
Olic is great, but you can tell the players aren’t confident enough to pass him the ball anymore. The problem is Kramaric came in and looked like a scared child. He didn’t provide much of anything to the game.
Did anyone see the knock on Modric before he got injured. He went down after a player hit him, then he went down trying to run. It was a shame, but it was great to see Kovacic step into that role. That being said, we did suffer a bit after Modric left. It just goes to show how well Modric sitting back and Rakitic moving forward works so well.
Finally, Perisic is getting better and better as time goes on. He’s been on a tear since the World Cup, and it’s nice to finally see the left side taking shape.
I don’t know why you think Rakitic played well, he only passes the ball backwards same for srna, and when he has a chance to play Perisic in, he holds the ball a second too long which allows the Italian defender to recover. I would rather watch our 2nd team play than this shit.
@Dalmo
I’d like to see your suggested changes too, hopefully one or two of those come to fruition next cycle.
Pranjic is the biggest shit stain to ever pull on the checkers, what we learned today is that italy arent much chop.
Olic shouldnt start anymore
Srna hands over the captaincy and moves to the bench and only used as a wing sub, Vrsaljko takes his rightful spot
Badelj starts instead of Brozovic
Pranja well what hasnt been said about that shit stain? Put in Strinic, Jedvaj, someones baba with a cane and it will be better. The retard runs away, even on the goal they scored instead of going at the player he shirked it.
Throwing flares to screw over Mamic and Suker??? We must be the stupidest people on the planet. Their mainly screwing over the players that worked their ass off their entire lives to get this point.
If I was a fan there, I would beat the shit out of those clowns…..Mamic, Suker …fuck you! Our fans should be banned for not pointing out the culprits and beating them up themselves. Torcida and BBB are just a bunch of fucking douche bags who have nothing better to do, like go get a fucking job or education
Not sure why you all bitch about Pranjic…I thought he actually did fairly well today. Clearly he’s a big part of the ‘width’ strategy that NK employs, and despite all of Pranjic’s warts, it works very well as a collective.
Thank you Iggy.
I would’ve assumed that if I heard 40’s.
Vida did very well too, big ups to him… no need for Lovren if he keeps playing this way.
Two things irritated the fuck out of me during this match: 1) Why the fuck does the total dipshit loser Pranjic still get allowed onto the pitch wearing a Vatreni shirt? What the fuck is Kovac thinking about, seeing the Italians used a whole 10 minutes to figure out the left back was Croatia’s only weak spot and man what a weak spot it is with that full on idiot Pranjic playing there. Why the fuck isn’t Strinic back on the squad in that position? He’s one of the very few pure leftbacks that Croatia has had the last few years, yet Kovac continues to call up that total fuck-up instead… 2) When the Vatreni were totally controlling the match from the get-go of the second half and looked close to scoring on several occasions, what does the brainiac minority part of the fans do? Throw fucking flares onto the field, suspending the match, almost to the point where the ref calls the whole deal off, ensuring a fat $ fine for the Croatian FA, possibly playing in front of a non-crowd match, people and the media are of course going to talk about Balkan and “they’re all the same” again after such a brain numbing show with flare throwing…taking much of the hard earned focus away from the technical Croatian football on display, instead letting Italy come back into the match again…fuck it. Croatia had the victory clearly within reach tonight and of course some dumb ape brains had to throw flares…I seldom get annoyed at our fans, but tonight I screamed at the television set in agony…fuck it all, tonight I’m fucking enraged…
Nice match all in all, given Luka’s injury and the fan stuff which shortened the game by about 10 minutes… our plan essentially made Italy look feckless. You can see Kovac’s plans coming to fruition. The width that we play with is unprecedented for us, and Kovac actually has a game plan for every half.
it was in the 40s when we had independence for a brief moment
3 stars of the game for croatia
1. Ivan perisic
2. Ivan rakitic
3 brozovic
I was impressed with brozovic today.
We should if won.
Pranjic sucks never should play. Kovac really doesn’t know anything if he keeps playing him. Kovac is starting to piss me off by picking him
3 stars of the game f
What’s this bullshit about our record of 1 loss against Italy in the ’70’s?!
The Canadian commentator mentioned it early in the match.
He said our record was 3-3-1.
Well a draw it is. We definitely looked like the better side, but loosing Luka so early on did hurt us. And Peresic should have scored or passed to Mario in the finally minutes.
.
More to this…….I will update later tonight.
My boy Vida was fearless!
Not always smart but fearless!
Badelj coming on for Brozovich.
Will the stone cold lock hold?
That disruption broke the rythym our guys had.
Vida Man of Match!!!
Serb Subasic is rattled
Woah, those Italian cops aren’t messing around. Swinging those batons on the fans as if they’re enjoying it.
Play ball wimps!
Dude, give it a rest. Our guys did it, this was known by many that it was coming.
There’s the fix.
No doubt we will be fined, but will we get a point deduction….that is what the guys who organized his are hoping for.
How do you know Croatian fans threw the flares idiots? This site is run by Serb lovers.
I meant NK, my bad.
This was organized………and Mamic’s puppet boy Kum Kovac mouthing off at the fans….
@NO Kraljevcan. That’s a hell of an idea. SUKER and MAMIC OUT would do nicely.
Well it looks like our boys got kicked out of the stadium.
.
Can’t blame the ref-
Wish they had a banner of some sort explains their position – at least they wouldn’t look like idiots in around the world-
Oh for fuck sake. The ref is pulling the players from the field.
More on this tonight…..I heard a good story regarding what the Torcida and BBB plan to do if we play Italy in Split.
Fucking idiot “navijaci!?!?” unbelievable, the lack of any pamet is ridiculous….stunning.
I was told to expect our fans to throw flares around the 70th minute……didn’t think it would hold…….goal by our fans is for our federation to be fined and embarrass Puppet Suker
I hope they ban us. I hate this bullshit “fandom”
This Dutchman ref is a joke!
Italy sucks.
This Dutchman ref is a joke!
Pardon my grammar. Italy have just parked the bus.
Italy has just parked the bus.
At some point we have realize all this possession and actually have a legit scoring chance.
Im blaming Rakitic for all this possession.
We Look like Barcelona!
Pull Olic off and bring on Kramaric!
If I’m Mandzukic… I’m feeling really lonely.
How many guys on this Italy team could start for Cro…..not many.
Are we playing for a draw? We’ve got 68% possession.
.
Perisic is the, Man of the Match and he has Pranjic behind him which makes it harder.
Stari Mama(Olic), Srna, Pranjic, Corluka need to be subbed out!
Rakitic man of the match so far for Cro by far… we’ve been the better side.. for me you switch in kramaric for olic and anyone for pranjic.
Olic= Stari Mama! Where is Kramaric?
@DannyJ
Modric could but out for awhile. You never know.
I fucked my groin up exactly like that and wasn’t the same for almost 2 years.
pranjic belongs in a circus
wow lovren really falling out of sorts… not even getting the start over vida…
i really like to see sime on that left side and strinic on the right
at least has to try it… even corluka and jedvaj in the middle would be good
corluka can be more of a stay at home defence and jedvaj can push up some
Ahhh, I see another fake Ziva account. Well done boys, well done.
Ahhh, I see another fake Ziva account. Well done boys, well done.
Does Pranjic have a lip tattoo on his neck. He must have gone to the Kenyon Martin school of dirty dried ink.
For that reason alone I wouldn’t allow him on the repka.
http://firstrows.biz/soccer/italy-croatia-frsg5cgg
Yup, you guys called it, we’re getting working on the left side.
Everytime the ball gets to pranjic, Subasic better be ready for a counter
No one has any links?
if only one thing kovac’s running theory is put into place right now… guys are really running
modric will be ok… a knock… he will be fine long run… lets hope kovacic can shine in italy
sounds to me our fans are pretty well out voicing the wops at what got to be a 10-1 ratio
Let’s see what Rakitic can do now. With Modric out, he has to step up and a chance for Kovacic to show something now.
FUCK, Modric looks like he’s pulled his groin or thigh muscle. Kovacic coming in.
.
Modric hurt. Hopefully it’s not bad.
.
Anyone have a link that isn’t in zabarski?
on paper we do……..this team will do well, but the lack of organization and leadership at the top is what ultimately will keep us short from really making any big progress at Euros.
lol i was wondering who would say that… buffon doing a pletikosa
seriously i pray brozovic scores just so they can sell him and we don’t have to see him any longer ala samir
guy on canadian feed just said he thinks this is the best side we have since golden generation
and we have a possible nitwit at the helm… not to mention upper management
any links?
fuck pranjic fuck him hard… did u guys see when he just passed the ball up the line to know one but the italian fans, wtf
im sorry his supposed “offensive” side does not make up for that defensive shit
we have better options at the back and the fact that niko is not using them is quite disturbing
Buffon doing his best Pletikosa impersonation. Hopefully his wife is in better shape.
maybe was a soft goal but fuck perisic the man these days
Can pranja attack the player with the fucking ball? One time would be fucking great
Koka with the gollllllll
GOALLLLLL
WE’RE Even.
i sure glad we have vida and pranjic back there… said no croat with a brain ever
FUCK ME.
niko making them shoot outside or what… i love that
and that is why vida should not be playing… my dead baba would hit the net there
Damn Vida, has an 10 inch cleat mark down his ribs.
Are there any good streams?
Olic starting? Pranjic? Brozovic? -___________-
Konservative Kovac!
Jebi Ga.
Rakitic needs to bring it for us today.
Pray KOVAC can make half time adjustments and early subs.
ZDS
U Boj
Here’s the line up
———————–MM———————-
Olic – Brozovic – Rakitic – Modric – Perisic
Pranjic —– Vida —– Corluka —–Srna
——————–Subasic——————-
Anybody got a link to watch Croatia-Italy 2012 full match? Trying to watch just before the game starts.
Nepoznat- your wife’s dialect is a very funny one, Bares are amazing cooks but they speak Italian funny!
@IvicaA
Your right, looks like Stimac crossed the ball in and started celebrating. On another point fuck did some of those guys have some class in that team.
@Ziva It can also shape into a 4-2-3-1 with Luka/Ivan at the base, and Krama in the hole…
Too late. I wanted to look at it again and found the video on YouTube. Mladenović is wearing no. 14 at the bottom of the screen. The fun starts at the 5 minute mark.
1994 Italy vs Croatia (1-2): http://youtu.be/1kDXf00x2Eo
@IvicaA
I’ll take your word for it, I was well into the bourbon before I watched it.
To all the New Yorkers on the site, hope to see you at Scorpios!!
@Aussie
It was Šuker (not Štimac) that delivered that header. Štimac was the one who crossed it in, yet for some reason the camera man focused on Štimac celebrating after the ball went in, so it seemed like Štimac was the one who scored.
Nothing beats Mladen Mladenović prancing up and down like a little schoolgirl after Šuker scored that header. It was only two hops, but the guy looked like a škakavac out there (his heels were almost hitting his own ass). It’s worth checking out the highlights for that game just to see that. I think he wore shirt no. 13 or 14 that game. Look at the video again, you won’t be sorry.
@Mishko
I was desperate enough to watch Cro beat Italy in 94 about an hour ago with a Stimac header, strange shit happens and would be good for a laugh!
@Aussie Kreso. Rakitic to with the game with a header?
🙂
.
Will be happy with a draw but we will win, Rakitic with a goal.
Looks like the game is going to happen as planned.
http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2014/11/16/despite-torrential-rain-croatia-vs-italy-will-go-ahead-in-milan/#respond
Doesn’t take a genius to work out where we are weak. Hopefully one of the players drops pranja a laxative. It would be poetic to have him damaging the doulton like he had a bad vindaloo instead of shitting the bed at LB 😀
@IvicA do you have a link to Conte’s press conference/interview/etc that you are quoting from?
@Skippy where are you? in USA the game is shown in HD on Fox Sports 1 channel. In Canada the game is shown on Sportsnet, I believe in HD.
otherwise here is an HRT2 feed:
sportska-tv.in/hrt2.html
or I would check www dot rojadirecta dot me and you’ll get a ton of links
LOL.
Conte calls out Croatia’s left side as a weakness. I wonder who he’s talking about.
This could be scary, as Bulgaria and Azerbaijan didn’t have the tools to exploit this. I’m scared at what a pairing of Pranjić and Lovren will do on our left side.
Any good links to watch the game ?
David Tarabocchia that’s too funny, I am from Ilovik aka a neighboring island, and my wife is also from Puglia, but outside of Bari
My poor girl won’t be able to walk our son Luka to school tomorrow after I am done celebrating on her tonight!!!
The game will NOT be postponed due to the rain:
http://www.businessinsider.com/afp-italy-v-croatia-to-go-ahead-despite-rain-hit-pitch-federation-2014-11
Personally I feel this shitty pitch benefits Italia… And the flooding may be from all the tears across Italia as they pray they can somehow earn a draw against a better Croatian team
@ ziva, you are a true fucking idiot.
fucking pranjic… one good thing about stimac helped get rid of that weasel… now we are stuck for him… pay some greek goon to break his knee on the field!
Just watched Italy win junior Eurovision and Croatia come last, fuken shit we should’ve got little Luka to sing.
http://www.vecernji.hr/nogomet/u-italiju-idemo-pokazati-da-igramo-dobar-nogomet-i-da-pobjede-nisu-slucajnost-973543
Pranja for captain, he seems to be the official mouth piece of the team, they ask this budala about football matters 😀
@ Marko : I like your squad!!
I don’t see us playing two forwards against Italy. That formation would be andvantageous for Italy.
@david…….so true..tough to leave home when the bitch upstairs cooks, cleans and is able to iron my underwear. I’d be crazy to leave that.
@marko
I like your lineup
Jedvaj at left looks way better than pranjic.
If he can kick with his left i would like to see him there.
@ziva
The chances an italian kid speaks the language from my experience is the same chance ziva has in getting out of mamas basement.
Or equivalent to his own chance of buying a house.
Or the same chance as ziva knowing how to cook.
Lol
Mangup,
The lineup the fans want looks great.
I saw Leovac for the first time against Argentina.
He must be decent for the fans to select him.

– I’d hope Kovac shows faith in Lovren, and Lovren repays him.
– Jedvaj has experience playing at LB in Bayer Leverkusen, and i’d fell comfortable with him there.
– The midfield, imo, is perfect. I love how well they complement each other (sorry Kovacic).
– Mandzukic is an automatic first teamer, and Kramaric deserves to start.
David…Did you take her last name?
(Not what i want, but what i think will be the lineup)
————-Mandzukic————
–Pranjic—–Rakitic——Olic—

Knowing Kovac, he will go for the draw.
I think we are in for a good match! Married to an Italian from Taranto, obviously I know who she will be rooting for. As for myself, having both parents born in Susak, I will be be for Vatreni. Both of these countries play each other well, but to predict I’m going with a 1-1 game.
Walking around Milan tonight some streets are very flooded. But it’s stopped raining so hopefully should be ok. I’m sure they are working on the field and it won’t be an issue.
no worries, game will go ahead, this is not poljud
question for you guys with Italian friends…..who butchers the language more: diaspora hrvati or diaspora talijani
I read about that too, hopefully it subsides and the match is able to go on as scheduled tomorrow. I am pretty pumped up for the match (haven’t watched a minute of any of their action since the Mexico debacle) and I feel that Italy are ripe for the picking. Not saying they will win in Italy, but I like our chances to take some points out of the encounter, which is good enough for me. It would mean a minimum of at least 7 months of unbridled trolling of annoying Italians ; )
Major flooding tonight in Milan. Lots of streets are flooded. Apparently there was some talk of rescheduling the game but the rain has stopped for now so hopefully it doesn’t pick up again
Subasic Srna Corluka Vida Pranjic Modric Brozovic Perisic Rakitic Olic Mandzukic Sutra
