To circle back to the point I made on the bottom of this thread regarding the importance of these friendlies.

They are going to try and sign him to a new deal (to secure more years) and loan him out again.
Luka may not have the acceleration and pace for the EPL, and he’s working with Nikola Vlasic’s father on that.
IMO, he should definitely go out on loan (where he will start) and continue to develop, but he shouldn’t extend his current contract.
He’ll be in a better negotiating position as the years remaining on his contract start to disappear.

Can’t put too much stock into friendlies, esp only 10 days out from the WC (where a big goal is to just not get hurt, not show your cards too much, etc).
