One year ago today (October 4th), CroatianSoccerReport.com closed its doors to make way for CroatianSports.com, not only expanding our sports reporting, but also giving our readers a more enjoyable experience following Croatian sports in the English language. Alongside long time partner in crime, Denis Svirčić, I (Ante Kvartuč) have made it our duty to not just deliver the news, but to grow the worldwide Croatian community we have built over the years.
CroatianSports.com has transcended sports reporting; uniting Croatian fans around the world and building a Digital Dom in the process. The website would be nothing without our readers, commenters and Prva Generacija members who have been with us since the beginning. They are the true heart and soul of CroatianSports.com and we thank you for your time, energy and endless support you put into the website, through comments, everyday.
A special thanks also goes out to the CS crew who have joined us. Mike “The Croatian Crippler” Rožić has done nothing less than spectacular in the past year, gaining exclusive access to Igor Pokrajac and Stipe Miocic on the MMA front. Matt “TheGoldenChild” Lebo has written multiple articles for CroatianSports.com and has grown and maintained our Twitter handle @CroatianSoccer to over 3,000 followers. Zach Gilfix contributes every weekend in ‘Croatians Around Europe’, covering Spain, Russia and Portugal. He also delivered stellar daily reports from the 2012 summer Olympics in London. Colin O’ Haravić joined us this season, giving us the most detailed HNL reports the website has ever seen. Respect to all these guys, who voluntarily contribute to CroatianSports.com.
With our 5-year anniversary of the launch of CroatianSoccerReport quickly approaching in February of 2013, in celebration, we will be throwing a viewing party in Las Vegas on March 22nd, 2013 for the Croatia vs. Serbia World Cup qualifier. All are welcome and additional information regarding the trip will be released next week.
Once again, thank you for being a part of CroatianSports.com as we look to grow and innovate ourselves in all future endeavors.
the good old days :'(

Denis & Ante K. Etc.Thank U for all U do to unite all of our people! Great Job! Also let us all remember , Bog,Hrvati,i Hajduk !!!
Puno hvala momci!
Keep up the good work of “Uniting Croatian Fans Around the World”.
CroatianZivaSports,com?
I’ve already congratulated the boys. So, its time to congratulate myself as well. I don’t think anyone else has generated as much debate as I have which makes people come back to the website.
So, on behalf of all of you……you are all welcome.
Congratulations to to the entire extended Croatian Sports team. You have all been instrumental in creating a meeting space for sports fans who love Croatia.
I know that I don’t often post, but just know that I, like many others who do not post often, still read almost everything.
There is no doubt in my mind that this is the new Croatian Hall, the new Dom. It’s a place where everyone knows your name and their always glad you came….even Ziva. In the past generations, Croatians met at brick and mortar Croatian Halls all over the world, and we still do, as we should, from time to time, but let’s face it, this site takes it to another level.
Everyone here has really started to know each other – even though you might have never met in person. How many times have you been to your local Dom in the past year versus the amount of times you have come here. This site has been around for only five years, but just know, it will remain in your life forever and the capacity for getting to know each other will only grow.
One of my favorite videos in the past five years is the most recent video – Ante BBB’s wedding. This video is proof of the lasting bonds that can be established on this site.
I love that Rob Uvanovich flew out to LA from NY to play in the small goals tournament over the summer and then flew off to Poland to report on the Euros. I love that Zach killed it in reporting on Croatia in the Olympics. All of the guys that are contributing to this site have one thing in common – they all gave themselves the assignment of producing content. Nobody insisted these guys do anything, yet they produced because of their love of the game and their love of the culture.
I’m not versed in the art and science of soccer like many of you are, but even I have produced content for this site. When I was in Croatia last year, I covered the Croatia v. Isreal match at Maksmir and the Hajduk v. Split match at Park Mladez in Split. This site gave me the opportunity to get closer to the culture and experience it like I never would have had it not been for this site.
I guess I am simply urging all of you to be content producers here. Ante went to the Split v. Inter match at Poljud and without any credentials or access to athletes still managed to get over 10,000 views on the video of his experience.
The Croatian Croppler has made friends with virtually every Croatian fighter in the UFC!!
This site gives you the opportunity to participate in the world of Croatian Sports instead of just being a spectator.
I very much look forward to the next five years and know that many more friendships will develop and many more weddings attended because of this space.
Vegas is going to be epic…make sure you drag your ass there on March 22.
We are no longer constrained to geography limiting our interaction and we are no longer constrained to brick and mortar Croatian Halls…. And we are no longer constrained to bullshit pleasantries for the sake of bullshit pleasantries – here all of you have proven that you can speak your mind, voice your opinions, shit on each other and still maintain a level of respect which was proven by Ante BBB inviting members of this site to his wedding.
Once again, congratulations to all of you – I enjoy having you in my daily life….yes, even you Ziva….
Ladies and gentlemen of CroatianSports.com,
It’s been my absolute pleasure running this site for all of you. I don’t do it for the recognition, I don’t do it for the media access. I do it so we can all be together. So wherever you may be in the world, you can log on and read the comedic, yet educational, teachings of Ziva Istina, Armada87, Allen Outraged, Ante BBB and Nije Bitno, no name a few. It really shows what us Croatians are capable of when we are all on the same page.
So as we move forward, this quasi-journalist can only promise you that he’ll bump up his game even more for 2013 and beyond.
Thank you all for the kind words. It’s the fuel that runs CroatianSports.com
Sammir in the national team jersey makes me SICK!!!! he looks like he would pimp out his sister for ten bucks.I welcomed Eduardo not this goof.
Congrats guys! Always love reading the site and checking out the discussion. Keep up the great work and your audience will continue to grow!
Kalinic actually had a really nice goal

@Toronto
Mamic already came knocking on the door. Why do you think we have all this news about Sammir?
At least we get a penthouse in Vegas now.
BBB got beat up again.

Great site guys,
Each morning come to work, turn my computer on and go straight to this site.
Thank you and well done
Congratulations to CS tocka com on 5 years… cheers to a whole bunch more!
@Jelic
I was on a trajekt from Drvenik to Sućuraj when the storm was happening, awesome site to see.
News today : Livaja played 90 minutes for Inter Milan against Bakoe. Inter won 1-3. Livaja scored.
Kalinic as well as Strinic played 90 minutes for Dpnri in their win against Stockholm. Kalinic made the 0-1.
Pamic played 90 minutes for Sparta Prague in their win against Spanish team Atletic Bilbao. Sparta-Atletic 3-1.
Pranjic played 90 minutes for Sporting Lissabon in their 3-0 loss against Hungarian side Videoton.
I didn’t seel out the repka….the people leading the repka sold out a long time ago.
Sammir looks like a douche, thankfully I won’t be watching either qualifier to witness the train wreck.
Fantasy football talk on a soccer website!!??!?! This can’t be happening, oh my god delete this man (jk). As everyone should know, I watch American football any day over soccer or whatever you call it. Its my main love.
I go with Hixon as well since Giants will be mad and will have to start airing it out a bit. I can see him getting some deep passes to catch. The fact that you got my boy Matt Ryan on your team pretty much solidifies you for 20 points at least. Ryan for MVP is on!
Happy to see some NFL talk on the page, its about time.
Congrats on the website…
The question is….what going to happen when Mamic comes knocking on your doors Denis and Ante?
Will you guys sell out this website faster than Ziva has sold out the national team?
Yeah i think I’ll go with Hixon.
Livaja scores again for Inter.
http://www.index.hr/sport/clanak/livaja-opet-zabio-za-inter-u-europa-ligi-/640249.aspx
Rogers does a good job distributing pretty evenly but I got ya! Go with hixon
Jordi and Hartline are picked up. The thing about Jones is that the packers have Cobb, Jordi, Finley also to throw too but with Nicks out and Ramses out its just Victor cruz and Hixon you know what I’m saying? I like James Jones a lot better too I’m just looking at the situation and who has the potential to throw up more points this weekend.
James jones, or see if jordi Nelson is available. Look into the Miami receiver hartline, he’s been getting great numbers
Fantasy Football Question. The first 9 are my starting lineup for this weekend with tonight being the first game of the week. Both of my starting wide outs are injured and am looking for a back up WR i can pick up off waivers. Pierre Garcon is not 100 percent so i was wondering if i should play Andre Roberts on my bench that’s playing tonight or should i drop him and pick up James Jones of Green Bay that will be playing for Greg Jennings or Domenik Hixon from the Giants that will be playing for the injured Hakeem Nicks? Any suggestions?

Bravo decki, it’s been an amazing ride so far!!!
smeće is an understatement.
Anonymous……I don’t care who we play. If Sammir plays a game for the repka, I will not root for us to win.
Great Job guys- I visit the site daily as well – It’s in the morning rotation – Espn-WSJ-CSR-DetNews.com etc….
that picture made me sick to my stomach – what a fuckin trashbag he is – he needs to come down to the Kvarner so I can give him a weighted vest and throw him off the Krcki Most
@Ziva
Problem is that I can’t think of any country that I would root for as they play against Croatia.
If Sammir ever wears plays a game wearing that shirt I will be rooting for the other team.
Good Job guys keep up the good work!
On another note, this is Sammir wearing our svetinja. Enjoy!
http://gol.dnevnik.hr/clanak/hnl/ekskluzivno-sammir-u-hrvatskom-dresu-otkrio-sve-o-sebi.html
Sick cunts! Keep up the good work. Do a segment on the youngsters coming up every now and then like Livaja, Haliovic, Radosevic and what not would be great.
There is a rumor of Serbian Stippers at the Vegas thing.
^Inspired by Mamic, 110%. When will these guys understand the reason people in ZG don’t care about Dinamo is because of Mamic and his HNS mafia?! Perfect example: look at Medvescak; every game is a sell-out. Mamicu, you can’t buy love or pride; the one thing you so much crave from Dinamo’s faithful. I hope 100 people show up against PSG.
Kovacic and Kelava come up with a plan for the PSG game:

Outstanding job gentlemen, simply outstanding. Happy 1 year anniversary of CSports! 5 years overall is an accomplishment and feels like a lifetime ago. If I am not in Zagreb, see you in Vegas in March ’13 for an anticipated cesspool of debauchery.
-Ante B.
Arsenal is tracking Sime Vrsaljko while Liverpool is tracking youngster Josip Basic from Hajduk Split.
Kudos to a labor of love.
svaka cast momci!
I visit the site multiple times a day and while my job can blow on certain days, I can always get a laugh or two out of some of the wacky posts on here, plus the fantastic coverage of HNL and NT games when I’m not able to watch the games.
Keep up the great work fellas!
Congratulations!
Thank you for all your hard work.
Thanks guy’s!!! Great job!!!
Congratulations! You’re doing a great job. I visit this website almost every day.
Completely off-topic to sports but not to CRO, check out these fantastic pics of lightning storm over Split last night…..remarkable!

Congrats!!!! It’s not easy maintaining a website, but well done.
By the way, GPS Kelava would like to congratulate you guys as well, but for obvious reasons he is unable to navigate his way on a computer.
Ante & Denis,
Thanks for giving the Croatian community this website and keep up the excellent work. You guys should be proud of what you have accomplished.
Bog i Hrvati
