February 22nd, 2011 marks the ‘3rd Anniversary’ of CroatianSoccerReport.com. In the past year, CSR investigated Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut’s ‘Croatian-ness’, witnessed Ivan Ljubičić’s triumphant BNP Paribas Open championship at Indian Wells and caught up with the Crottenham Hotspur in San Jose, just to name a few. It was an exciting past 12 months as CSR grew stronger with the addition of Ante Baričević and Tom Renić as writers for Dinamo and Hajduk reports, respectfully.
As a gesture of dedication to our beloved Prva Generacija and CSR Nation, we are soon launching a new website with features that will enhance your Croatian sports experience during games, interviews, and most importantly debates.

@someguy, Nicole h, and Rob,
thanks for the kind words. Looking forward to year #4
@Rob,
Can't wait to visit Toronto one day. The last and only time I was in Toronto was in 2002 I believe for a couple of days. We will keep you posted. June 4th for the Georgia game or Sept 2-6 for Malta-Israel game look like possibilities. Still eaaaaaaaaaaaaaarly.
Ante and Denis,
Way to go guys!!! I cannot for the life of me believe how much this site has grown, so proud of you both!
As someone who was one of the first four or five guys to post a comment on here some three years ago, it is absolutely incredible what you guys have accomplished to date!!
I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us this coming year, and drop me a line if you guys decide to come to Toronto sometime this year!!
I'm a little late to the party…but happy birthday CSR!
Favorite moment of the year was definitely Ljubicic, with Redknapp being a close second.
Happy 3rd Birthday CSR! It's hard to pick a favorite out of all the videos, but of the top 10, Kranjcar and Redknapp are my faves.
Keep up all the hard work, you boys are doing a great job, so proud 🙂
I'm looking forward to the next year of exclusive interviews, great articles, and entertaining comments!
@ Brane,
I didn't forget about you 'brudder'.
You are the General Manager of CSR. Sitting up high in the press box with your laptop and iphone in hand helping us with critical decisions and bringing in free agents. Miss CSR has been your best work yet.
———
And just something to ponder about, next time you interview an entire Scandenavian team, try to know at least ONE thing about them….
Good stuff man! To another successful year in 2011!
Who would have thought that a little soccer hobby blog would make it three years and break into Croatian papers? -multiple times.
I knew upon approaching Denis three years ago that there was a demand for Croatian soccer in the English language, but for all that has happened to become a reality is beyond me.
First off, I have to thank my 'partna' Denis 'Rusty' Svircic. This was a two-man operation from the beginning and he was in the whole way. The man made Alpine Village CSR's own stomping ground, managed the NY trip and most importantly balances my crazy ideas out. Good stuff man!
To the heart and soul of CSR: Prva Generacija. You all know who you are. Without these brave members who put their reputation on the line every day, CSR would be nothing. So many people tell me every day that they come to CSR for the comments first. The laughs and debates have been priceless over the past year.
To my 'Rookie of the Year' and 'CSR MVP', Rozalija Kucko aka Miss CSR. She broke the Borut Sips interview, polled Zagreb on their thoughts on HNS President and pulled into Milan for a Champions LEague game. Solid performance. She means business. I found out she was in Milan Monday, told her that Crottenham were in town for a huge game Tuesday and the rest is history…
To Ante Baricevic: Thanks for keeping things always interesting around here. You may take role of villain from time to time, but you always mean well. Excellent Dinamo reports. Even if they 'try' to ruin Hajduk's parties. 😉 PS Your hosting skills are impeccable. From SJ to Big Bear, CSR was flying first class all the way. (Thanks Kristina!)
To our Hajduk reporter Tom Renic. I never thought I'd meet a man from Winnipeg, but here we are. Good stuff on the reports this year. Let's pray that Hajduk can make Europa again in the fall.
The Golden Child is coming through for CSR is huge ways with the new website. We thank you for making the transition so easy on us. Means a lot. (Another cookie-cutter assist is on the way, don't blow it!)
To the third muskateer: Fisto. Glad to have you on the team full time. Can't wait for your next Kranjcar Corner article. Since that's your boy…
My favorite moment was the entire San Jose Tottenham weekend. From the drive up from LA to the eventual Kranjcar/Redknapp interviews. It all came together. Redknapp gave us the time and day on his way out. True class act and we respect him for it. However, my favorite individual moment was when I was throwing out Crottenham shirts to Spurs fans. The players were already on the bus and I caught Corluka glancing at me through the tinted glass. He asks, "Di je moja majca? (Where is my shirt?), in which I replied "Di mi je intervju? (Where's my interview?) because Corluka blew us off right before the Kranjcar tape started rolling. We had a good laugh. Next time we catch up with Corluka, I'll find out if Redknapp was kind enough to give him a shirt.
Regarding Josipovic, we were incredibly tied for time. I didn't think I had enough time for the extra syllable. 🙂
In the end, the Sunday night deadlines for 'Croatians Around Europe', the all-night video edits and the early morning wake-up calls for games is all worth it.
All of us together created a community out of scratch….and I'm glad to have done it with all of you there. CSR 2.0 a few weeks away. Stay tuned for more…
King Bronk and Ante B on the team? The Mbenga and Mark Madsen of CSR….jJUUUUUSTTT KIDDING.
Congrats on 3 years. Keep getting better.
Great stuff Ante & Denis – happy 3rd birthday CSR, as always nothing but class. The top 10 list is very impressive in retrospect, you guys accomplished a lot of high profile interviews in 1 year. Keep pushing the envelope and I look forward to seeing what you have in store for 2011!!
Happy Birthday CSR!!!
Great Job!
Thanks for the props Denis.
Good work guys! I'm looking forward to seeing the new site it should be good.
'Croatians around Europe' is the best thing about the site – its not easy keeping up with all the players so to have it all in one post is perfect. Seeing you guys on TV for both the tennis and the Tottenham v San Jose match were also highlights. It's nice to see the American Croats getting out to those sorts of events and supporting.
Keep it up guys!
Best moment was Mamic's dummy spit and Borut Sips follow up. Nice to see the contrast between an educated reporter and a rich seljac.
Looking forward to this new website boys, keep the hard work up.
Congrats CSR…love the website
Slaven Bilic shout out is pretty sick…even though not a big fan
its about time for a new website
Felicidades y éxitos para CSR! Remember finding and reading it 2 years ago…got hooked up right away!
Regarding the poll, I have to go with Ljubicic. Redknapp is a close 2nd one.
Congrats!!
Happy Birthday CSR!
Longer hours at work have forced me to become much less a part of this site than I once was a year ago…it sucks, reality sucks, but I am sooooo happy to have invested all the time I did for those many Croatians Around Europe posts as well as the fanzones from Astoria. The highlight this past year for me was having you guys visit New York. I am looking forward to meeting up with you guys again in the future and I wish this site continued success!
The sky is the limit, but I really don't know how you guys are going to out-do yourselves this year. But somehow, you will : )
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CSR!!!!!!
Best wishes and tones of love…..
Hrvatska Majka

A very happy b-day CSR!!!!
Here's to many more, keep up the great work team CSR!!!!
Happy 3rd birthday CSR! Two years ago I was in Split at the derby, one year ago I was watching Medvescak and today I'm here wishing this site nothing but the best. Like I've said before, I believe in this site and am proud to be part of it. It's always good to have someone with U views.
My personal favorite CSR moment was Crottenham in San Jose, hands down. Expected a 7/10 for the weekend and it instead became 15/10. Fun times, great interviews. My favorite videos: Bogut's first interview and Petrovic's "only Dinamo" line.
Let's continue that in 2011. The HNL is coming up soon and I can't wait for it begin. I hope all of you have enjoyed my articles, my arguing with hajdukovci and pissing off of komunisti. Be prepared for more of that this year.
As always,
Bog i Hrvati
Za Dom Spremni
Sretan rodendan CSR!
-Ante B.
csr. thank you guys for all the pleasure you have brought to us croatians in north america. everything you guys do is magic. svaka cast.
ps
best moment is slaven bilic no doubt.
ajmo bili!
@fistonic,
" Hopefully, this year's tournament will top last years."
like I told you last year after the tournament, "something like this only happens once in a lifetime." Hopefully I am wrong, but I dont see this tournament being even 20% of what it was last year.
Let me tell you this, no one could have replaced you in the stands that weekend. I strongly believe that we were part of the reason why Ljubicic one. We might have not raised Ljubo's game, but we definitely stuck it to Nadal. Its not a coincidence that Ljubicic started winning after we showed up in the second set. Remember that guy in Ljubos corner pounding his chest with his hand? Ljubo should have broke each of us off with a couple bucks. Who am I kidding, the experience was priceless. How about Vatro(Dinamofan in the stands) hating on Karlovic because he's a Hajdukovac.
Who is joining us this year at Indian wells? Les than a month away.
Dont forget to vote in our poll. This will be the first poll that I will not participate in. All 10 have been excellent. I have my top 5, but cant narrow it down any further.
What another successful year at Croatiansoccerreport.com!
I would like to thank everyone that has made CSR what it is today.
First, CSR would be nothing without the services of Ante "Scully" Kvartuc Everyday Ante asks me "whats next? Lets do this? Who is the next big interview?" hile I am more the "quality over quantity" "take it easy" dalmatinac lifestyle. Let me tell you, this guy eats, sleeps and drinks CSR.
Niko Kranjcar and Harry Redknapp interviews were amazing considering the amount of time we had. Ante even managed to ask the president of Croatia "koliko gledas" instead of "koliko gledate". A few things we have to work on..haha..
We added Tom and Ante B to our starting lineup this season and they did a fabulous job writing on Hajduk and Dinamo this season.
We picked up Dennis Fistonic off of waivers towards the end of year #3 and he didnt fail to impress, contributing on Croatian Around Europe week after week. Look for Fistonic' name to be all over CSR in year #4.
Rozalija.. aka.. miss csr surprised me more than Blake Griffin's dunk over a car with her video from Milan. But since we are biased here at CSR and hajduksoccerreport, you just missed the cut 🙂 All kidding aside, some excellent stuff from you this year. Looking forward to your next report.
Argentina Valentina showed us all the meaning of Hajdukovac. Every email I get from her at least a side note about Hajduk. Pictures from Split and Milan were amazing. However, the report said it all. I apologize to those of you that dont speak Croatian, most of what was written would have been lost in translation.
Brane was our inside man. Without a doubt the "brains of the operation." I will not go further into this. You make key moves down the stretch that win you the game. You are the Niko Kranjcar of CSR. Key move #1 this year has been the addition of Rozalija. Enough said.
@king bronk
another "quality over quantity" guy. Your report and matchfixing turned CSR upside down. Without a doubt, a top 5 piece this year.
prva generacija
without a doubt the backbone of this website. Most of you write articles in your comments everyday. Thanks for being with us. CSR is nothing without you guys(and girls)
best moments of year #3
Ante Kvartuc came up with his 10, and I agreed on 9. We later agreed to swap the Corluka Tottenham video for Andrew Bogut. (hopefully, Andrew isn't reading 🙂
Let me say, that Rozalija had 2 excellent videos that just missed the cut(Markovic-Stimac & Tottenham-Milan). Corluka just missed the cut.
Then we had a couple of good videos with prva generacija… Ivo Miljanovic and Andrej that were next in line…
ok, thats it, no more. Happy 3rd birthday CSR!
I'am quitting with my blog http://www.dinamo11.blogspot.com and i would be happy if somebody wants to take over my work. Who is interested can contact me on email tommy2711992@gmail.com
My 2 favorite videos (biased) would have to be the Ćorluka and the Ljubičić videos. I had the pleasure of shaking both of their hands in both videos with each one of them class acts. The 2 weekends in Indian Wells, California surpassed my expectations 10 fold. Hopefully, this year's tournament will top last years.
Congratulations to CSR on it's 3rd birthday. It's been a pleasure writing, commenting and working with Denis and Ante. I'm looking forward to contributing more once the new site is up and running.
Hopefully a Dinamo anniversary won't trump this one as well. 🙂
