ANTE KVARTUČ SITS DOWN WITH PJH
Long time friend, Peter Hazdovac, started CSR off last week with a bang as he delivered pictures, match report and a masterful interview from White Hart Lane during the Tottenham Hotspur v. Blackburn Rovers match in North London. Since then, CSR has exploded in Croatian media covering Ivan Ljubičić’s Indian Wells championship through the eyes of his fans and grabbing an exclusive interview with Milwaukee Bucks center and 2005 NBA first overall pick Andrew Bogut.
So what better way to end the festivities during CSR’s busiest two weeks than to sit down with the man that started it all in London- Peter Hazdovac.
CSR would like to give a special thanks to Adrian Svirčić and Vacant Cranium Productions for their work on the Peter Hazdovac and Andrew Bogut videos.
Ante BBB,
I think that this corroborates what you are saying.
http://www.croatiantimes.com/news/Sports/2010-03-26/9949/Dinamo_stadium_north_stand_closed_owing_to_unpaid_electricity_bills
btw, bogut has a muscle strain in the middle of his back and is sitting out tonight's game against the heat in milw. bucks are getting smoked by 20 halfway through the 4th quarter.
being from milwaukee, fonzi is a packer fan, as am i.
bears sucks. vikings sucks. the NFL stats that matter are championships and hall of famers. the pack have 12 NFL championships (more than any other team), and 21 hall of famers (second only to the bears with 26…yea, i'll admit the bears had some great players….once upon a time).
as for the dinamo v hajduk rhetoric, i think it's mostly silly. prior to 1991 the rightful rivalries were with zvezda and partizan. since hooligans can't watch soccer without hooliganing, and since cro had it's own league after 1991 and the rivalries with zvezda and partizan were gone, the two biggest cro clubs turned on each other. maybe that was inevitable, but the venom between the fans is mostly senseless.
re: tito – fuck tito.
NDH fun fact…the NT during NDH was undefeated.
@Ante BBB
Nice Jim Rome sign off haha
Ps. I love the Psmtr! That's classic.
Gents,
The real important question is this:
"Which side is the Fonz on?".
Boris any idea? I'd say that he might care about the NFC central.
"Bad Blue Girls," really? Now THAT'S original.
Signed,
"Back to you and your mama too" and
"I know you are but what am I?"
Tragic.
Frankly, if all of the "Bad Blue Girls" espouse the same attitudes you have, I truly hope they receive what they deserve next month in Split.
Tito and Hajduk = Tudjman and Dinamo.
Hell, Uncle Frank diverted state money and HDZ money to un Dinamo.
Same shit.
Whoa there Geraldo, let's not be too over dramatic there. It's not about politics.
Nobody is trying to claim anything. You had brought up Maksimir and home-field advantage, I'm allowed to respond to that. The Tito building comment was to illustrate my point that Poljud is a newer stadium and attracts the average Josip, not like Maksimir which is basically falling on people thus preventing the average fan to come. I believe Poljud was built because of the Med. games in either '72 or '79. Add some humor and elude to the fact that Hajduk was in fact Tito's team..and der ju go.
I might be a prick as you so eloquently put but that doesn't mean I'm not right.
I don't think anybody here would deny the role of the past in Croatian soccer. The past does play a huge role in my hatred of all things 'bili' related.
See you April 14th. Relax a little bit, Susan. "Step yo' game up"
1) Here we go with politics again. Has it been two weeks already?…that's usually how long it takes for some good, healthy Croatian politial debate to pop back up on CSR.
2) How much work do you guys actually get done at your jobs? I can't believe I get a new email from this comment board every 15 minutes or so. Me and my coworkers are busting up at this conversation.
I told them that this conversation that started with a sarcastic Bucks comment to an NFL discussion would lead to politics in Croatia. They said IMPOSSIBLE!
Here we are……….
I don't think you've proven anything, other than the fact that you're a frickin' prick.
Old data… new data… it really doesn't matter… the Vikes still lead the series handily.
I have no comment on Pavelic, Tito or any other aspect of Croatia's sorry past. But I will say it is pretty fucking sad and desperate for you to try to claim some sort of moral superiority upon the suffering and misery of an entire nation.
Also, let's not get into a Dinamo vs Hajduk, Zagreb vs Split, Torcida vs BBB circle jerk debate because it's been overly played out. We can save it for April 14th. And here I thought thinking you were a worthy adversary. Yet again, I was mistaken. Psmtr!
I switched it up with the Packers, my mistake; we still own that series. Also, your data is from 2006. Obviously we have an accounting whiz on our hands. Thank you Math. As of 2010, the Vikings still lead the series against the Bears. You can use your own advice.
About Tito building the stadium, hey buddy, that's your history and legacy as well as ours. I'm pretty sure Pavelic rooted for Gradanski though 😉 He even claimed that Zagreb was the brain and heart of NDH. Snap. Save me the Dinamo is not Gradanski debate.
AS the old saying goes, "tko voli hajduka iz splita, taj voli partiju i tita". Again, not my own words.
Ouch. Times two.
Holy shit man… if you're gonna resort to bringing out the all-time record you had better make sure you've done your homework.
"The Minnesota Vikings lead the all-time regular season series 48-40 with two ties." So, I'd have to say the only place you've "stuck it" is up your own ass.
As for your Tito remark, the Communists, sadly, controlled all of Croatia you ass — no, I'll take that insult back, since you are clearly not worthy of a comparison with such a dignified creature.
Both stadiums are a disgrace. Ask any hajdukovac and they will tell you Stari Plac is their real home. Poljud is a concrete jungle that smells like urine while Maksikir is falling apart.
At the end of the day we have crappy stadiums for both crappy teams.
a bit on your NFL discussion….take away the gambling aspect and fantsy football, it would have the audience on MLB. I like the college game much better, except their way of crowning a champ.
Tito didn't build our stadium, remember? …oh, that was a low blow, wasn't it? Ouch. Maksimir has no roof so the water damage has torn it apart, which doesn't make the average Josip fan come out. Poljud, however, is still in awful shape but better than Maksimir by far.
As for the Bears vs. Vikings, take a look at the head to head match-ups. I believe the Bears are still leading that series, how you say, "stick it in you..like young sailor." Thanks to Teddy KGB.
Another question, do you like apples?
The Bears always have the Vikings' number? Man, you really are delusional. The Bears have been a .500 team for the last few years while the Vikings have been winning division titles. Walter Payton doesn't play for the Bears anymore, remember?
All will be forgiven with Hajduk once they win the Croatian Cup… and they'll take a very big step toward that accomplishment in about 10 or 11 days in Split. Go ahead, admit it, you only wish Maksimir could come even remotely close to generating the kind of home-field advantage Hajduk receives in games like this one.
I've never been much of a Viking hater because the Bears always seem to have their number. Let's pause and think about the last game vs. the Vikings. Ah. I hear McNabb might be coming over.
And, come on, Purple People Eaters, really? Get a real nickname like the Monsters of the Midway.
As for being a Hajduk fan, please go see a brain surgeon. I'm sure that's the only fix for now 🙂
Ante BBB…. on the contrary, as a supporter of Hajduk and the Minnesota Vikings, for me there can be no more despised combination than a Dinamo/Bears fan!
In the Dinamo game there was a nice moment when Ibanez struck that great free kick and a excellant save by Subasic. Also was a nice move and shot by Slepi. Having said that Ibricic should have scored and made this game 1-0.
How appropriate Ante that you are a Bears fan as well. How did we not uncover this earlier? And based on your geographical location I would also assume that you are a Sharks and Giants fan as well. Also my archnemeses.
You are the snake to my mongoose, or the mongoose to my snake. I forget. (Name it)
@Imenjace Kvartuc,
No wonder I despise you so much. Not only are you a Hajduk fan but a Green Bay Packer fan?? There is no other worse sports combination for me, nor any excuse. Well, I take that back. If you were a Partizan or Zvezda fan, THAT would be the worst.
(btw. Bear down Chicago Bears! You guessed it! Long time Dinamo and Chicago Bear fan right here)
@ Ante
As Yogi Berra might've said "Keep doin what'ur doin". You're doing great!
@ Denis Svircic,
You only have 4 weeks of CSR vacation time left for the year. Spend it wisely.
@ Boris,
"It's still eeeeeearly" for Mandzukic. His name is going to be thrown around like crazy in the next two months. Remember, if it's not on CSR, then it's not important! 🙂
Yes it was a hint of sarcasm, but it was directed towards Hazdovac. He thought Bogut was on the Bulls. He missed by about 70 miles. And FYI, I like the small market teams. I live in LA and I'm a Kansas basketball supporter as well as a Green Bay Packer fan since I was a kid. Kings are my only LA team I root for.
And we all should know by now what 'jumping the shark' means- done!
@ JP,
The green screen was all Denis brother's idea. I think it came out perfect. Mix things up a bit. Gotta keep you guys entertained. How are we doing?
haha good one Boris, you must be old enough to remember the Fonz.
Good luck Peter!
Love the "green screen" Ante, nice work.
@ ante
good interview. although i noticed a touch of sarcasm when referring to milwaukee having an nba team. sure, milwuakee is no LA, but it's still a big league city. don't forget, fonzi is from milwaukee, and he came out to LA in one episode and jumped a shark, and he owned that town.
mandzukic to everton?

First Ljubicic, then Bogut, now this. Hell of a month for CSR. I'm going on vacation for the rest of the year. Hold my calls 🙂
