On the eve of Euro 2024, CroatianSports.com would simply like to say:
THANK YOU.
Thank you for taking over a 2017 Croatian side that was in absolute shambles with what looked like little to gain by you. Thank you for gluing this Croatian side together over the past seven years. Thank you for cleaning house in the locker room and ensuring the crest on the front of the jersey was more important than the name on the back. You have given not only me, my friends, my family; but Croatians all across the globe two unforgettable World Cup tournaments we will never forget. You have singlehandedly raised the bar; not only putting Croatian football back on the world map, but keeping it there.
Me and you have not seen eye-to-eye the past seven years on strategy, where to position players, and of course, Mateo Kovačić. But it dawned on me this past week reflecting on the 2018 Croatia squad what you have done with the team since. And you know what? What you’ve done is nothing short of a miracle. You are the greatest Croatian manager of all time. And it’s not even the title that’s most impressive, it’s how you did it.
Looking back at tournament results since 2018, you have done so much with so little. Since Rakitić, Mandžukić, Rebić left the squad in 2018 and 2021, respectively, the Vatreni have not had a difference-making #9 striker, a true right winger, and the offensive hole left by Rakitić in the midfield has yet to be replaced. Those are three HUGE components for any offense to lose; even with Modrić driving the car from the middle of the pitch. In a time where you are only as good as your last result. In an era where coaches and staffs are let go before their first paycheck is cashed…you have rallied the troops to build a dynasty.
This is a dynasty we will likely never see in Croatian football ever again (I hope I’m wrong). Sure, we don’t have any silverware in the cabinet, but finishing 2nd and 3rd in back-to-back World Cups to go with a Nations League Final in a 5-year span is INCREDIBLE! You said it best this week speaking about England’s historical results:
All this time, my personal strategy was to put together the best Croatian starting XI with players in their natural positions: Majer as a #10 CAM. Kramarić in a supporting role behind a true #9 striker. Add more offense in a 3-5-2 formation. But it wasn’t about putting the best players into their best slots. It was never about playing sexy football once the team left Russia in 2018. It was about results. And to get those results, you knew you would have to play “possession” football. Italy did it in the 90s. Greece played bunker in 2004. Spain won three titles in a row with their tiki-taka from 2008-2012. The Vatreni strategy since 2018: POSSESSION! And this is done through the midfield trident of Modrić, Kovačić, Brozović.
You haven’t been playing for goals since Euro 2020 kicked off. You’ve been playing for control. Control of the game through possession. Why have I been so blind? You are happy to control the game at 55%+ possession and capitalize on 2-3 solid chances on net. You were always prepared for tight 1-0 matches and that has been the DNA make-up of this squad.
You have been playing chess since Day 1 when I thought you were playing checkers; not putting players in their natural positions. So for that, I must apologize. You were getting the results no matter how ugly the games were and no matter how many times Croatia conceded the early goal. My goal was always to get extra firepower in the Croatian starting XI through Majer, Marco Pašalić or Krama behind the 9. But it was never about firepower, it was about control.
But at the end of the day, do we really care? You have brought Croatia three medals in five years. That is absolutely unheard of. On top of that, you have gotten this Vatreni side to play the maximum amount of games in back-to-back World Cups. More games. More magical moments for all of us Croatians around the world to share with each other.
Dalić, you are a true tactician. You are a master of strategy. You knew exactly what Croatia’s weaknesses have been since 2018 and rebuilt a team around them. Not only did you rebuild, but you continued to get the same results.
Chef Dalić has been cooking up 5-star Michelin meals for six years with a few ingredients and some Vegeta. I now see that you have slowly built this team from the inside out since your debut in 2017. And you didn’t just do it with strategy; you did it by building a family.
The strongest weapon in your arsenal is that you are a no-nonsense, no bullshit, humble man. And that’s why you have had no issues letting go of possible distractions in the locker room for the greater good: looking at you Kalinić, Rebić, Livaja.
Modrić has always been the face of this team. But you, Zlatko Dalić, do not get enough praise as the conductor. And you should.
You have done so much with so little since the team left Russia in 2018. Now that Gvardiol, Modrić, Stanišić, Majer, among others, are booming with confidence after phenomenal club seasons, what could you do at Euro 2024 with a few more ingredients and a quasi-home fan advantage? Majer and Gvardiol have been hot moving up the field in offensive duties. How will you manage this team in Germany with extra added attack available without having to give up any midfield control through a Modrić, Kovačić, Brozović trident?
Whatever happens in Germany, Croatia truly is playing with house money under you. But how sweet it would be to see Modrić lift an international trophy in Berlin on June 14th while being showered in red and white confetti for the entire world to see?
Crazy? I don’t think so. After 1998, we all thought, “this will never happen again.” Then 2018 and 2022 happened. So why can’t it happen again? Not crazy at all with the talent and comradery this team currently possesses.
So with all that said, I once again say, THANK YOU for continuing this ride as Euro 2024 will surely be another amazing chapter for Croatians sports and all Croatians across the globe.
In Dalić we trust…
This aged well.
It took 4 days before the opening game of the 2024 Euros to figure out that Dalić accomplished a lot without Mandžukić/Rebić/Rakitić and that the tactics were purposeful?
My issue with him is the 500 players we have as assistant coaches that were his former players.
Very well put. Results are what matter, at least to me. There would often be jokes about Mandzukic only being able to score from a few yards out….but he got the job done. And when it’s a crucial moment, nobody really cares how the ball hits the back of the net or even how the whole match looked when it ends with a Croatia victory. Dalic’s tactics aren’t always what we want to ‘see’, but in what has been a longer than average stretch for a national team coach, they work.
Looking back at 2008 when Croatia finally seemed to have a spark again, I had some hope, but it started to wane the following few years after that. But now these last few years have been inspiring.
I’ve always been proud to support our teams even at their lowest points. But now I can be proud and even have a hint of healthy arrogance (if their is such a thing).
England, Brazil and so many other big kids that get so much attention cannot say they accomplished anywhere near what Croatia has in the last few years. And we have Dalic to thank for a large component of that success.
I’ve read every comment here and lots of good opinions for both sides of the argument. The one thing I’d like to bring up regarding periods when we looked pretty bad is the fact that Dalic couldn’t make anyone play with effort or desire…and when we did have crappy results, I blame a fair portion of the losses on the players. He can only set the lineups, they have to do the rest. If we look at where we are at today I’d say we have more players hungry and hopeful to get playing time…back then, Dalic didn’t have many good extra options so the lineups were usually the same with absolutely nobody hungry enough to compete and fight for a starting spot…basically we had no bench strength whereas now I feel we do.
Yea. I didn’t want to give him too much grief for the Turkey and Wales losses, because we had a ton of injured and out of form guys.
But this just hammers down the importance of always integrating your best youth internationals early (even if it’s just for injury time subs) because you never know when you will need them (and you won’t have to be forced to call up Brekalo).
I am very happy that Sucic and Baturina are part of the squad now as key reserves for our main veteran midfielders. My guess is Sucic is already capable of playing a half (or more) at these Euros if we wanted to use him (but we probably won’t have to). Great to have that insurance in case someone gets injured, suspended, or just has a bad run.
Looking to the future, I think it’s also important that we call up Lovro Zvonarek during our 2026 qualifiers (assuming he secures a regular spot with Bayern), as two years is a long time away and anything could happen to Modric and Brozovic until then. Good to always plan for the next tournament, and have that added depth with Kovacic, Sucic, Majer and Baturina for 2026.
Get Petar Sucic in there for some late minutes too.
Forget about the U21s. We’re not Serbia. We don’t chase junior tournament medals.
Also forgot to mention. The benefit of having this youth off the bench is that they will definitely be more hungry.
integrating our youth can be a tricky thing if you ask me. on one hand we know some of our younger guys will eventually get there and just need some time so yes, we might want to introduce them…the question is are they better than what we have?
lots of us here are armchair quarterbacks and think guys like Simic, Beljo, Musa, Ljubicic and so on, deserved a spot but hindsight is 20/20 and I 100% stand behind Dalic’s decisions to not integrate them into this current squad. He took a lot of heat for not bringing them in so in my opinion, how much of what we said was plain and simply not credible or even worth entertaining? as I keep saying, Dalic is on the ground level and he sees what we don’t. its a big jump from junior’s to the senior squad and some players are mentally more fragile than others…it takes someone with a level head to know how to judge the situation…and they also rely on others to tell them
Represents the best of Croatia, in a time when being conservative is now considered being out of step Love his catholic religious leadership fostering unity of culture and belief on the team. Dalic is a great example of decency. He wears his belief on his sleeve via thru his actions.
Albeit, I would rather he have Kramaric take penalty kicks, rather than Modric, but sure seems like Modric penalty kicking has become better of recent, as he has aged, just as long as he is able to slip them thru. At this rate of improvement, by the time he is 40, he will definitely need to be our penalty kicker though.
Exactly kromiza, good old fashion faith & discipline hurt no one, I think Croatia is gaining momentum at just the right time.
Croatia will do very well
This site should emulate Dalic, Football and God for the win.
Ante, all I can say is thank you and the whole Cro Sport family for giving us this Diaspora gift.
All your work, patience and love for Hrvstska and football will never be forgotten.
God Bless all efforts.
@Maminjo
The problem with forums or texting is that you can never know if someone is being sarcastic or serious. I hate disrespect especially on forums where people know they are safe.
On that note, you pissed me off a few weeks ago by not accepting my Bunker Temporary Insanity apology, you know that nonsense theory by the Truth2 or Ziva lol, but from what I’ve read today, your assessment of Dalic is very detailed and quite impressive.
We can never know that exact details of the locker room but in my opinion your observation seems quite accurate.
I would also like to add, how much pressure was Dalic experiencing from the unseen puppet masters of the HNS?
Were certain decisions not of his own will but from corrupted manipulators?
Regardless, hands down he has been the best manager we’ve ever had. I truly believe that what he’s done will create a culture that surpasses all our expectations for generations to come.
Lastly, total respect to Maminjo for keeping your cool while all those ladies had their period.
Now Go back to Zagreb, wink wink.
Haha thanks.
The funny thing is, I didn’t bash him. I’m just saying the guy makes mistakes and he eventually learns from them.
He’s a likeable person and an above average coach. He’s definitely better than what we’ve had in the past. I think people are just amped right now because we’re in great form and we just gave Portugal a beatdown. I’m pretty sure this article doesn’t get written though if we lost that friendly 3-0 haha.
In terms of your comment re: outside pressures coming from the HNS…
Yes. I think Dalić is definitely a “consensus” guy.
It’s part of his personality, which can be positive or negative.
Perfect example is how he was always giving our top U21 guys to Bišćan (when the priority should always be to integrate them into the senior NT). I’m sure he gathers consensus on first team selection, formation and tactics from his assistants, veteran players and possibly HNS management.
It could work positively (by being inclusive) but ultimately he’s the coach and it will be his head if the consensus was a mistake.
Overall he has done well. Just keep the ship steady and don’t do anything stupid. Low point was when he had Brekalo try to play LB against Spain. He needed to make that substitution pronto. Will never forget the ending of that match.
To be honest, he should have been fired after that Euro2020 debacle… which came after all those awful Nations League losses that really hurt our team’s morale, ranking, and reputation.
He got lazy after the 2018 World Cup, and thought he could just sit back and roll out the same lineup for Euro2020. When he realized he couldn’t, then he panicked and started experimenting during the tournament.
We had a bad tournament and you could see Modrić was visibly upset with Dalić.
Dalić is very lucky that Modrić has a good heart and allowed him to stay on. Any other star player would have had him tossed. Everyone here thought for sure he was done (and justifiably so) but he managed to stay on as coach by the skin of his teeth.
I think this was good learning experience for Dalić, and set up his path to redemption, which started during that Denmark away win at the most recent Nations League.
Once we won that game, you could see a sudden change in Dalić where he stopped playing down the tournament, and pushed to win it. We proceeded to beat France, Denmark again, and Austria, and it increased our team morale and play right before the 2022 World Cup.
This set up the whole “double medal” in a span of six months where we got bronze at the World Cup then silver at Nations League.
He’s still not perfect, and defaults to his “no new friends” policy for too long (which hurt us even in these qualifiers with losses to Turkey and Wales)…but he’s even learned from that too, by bringing in Baturina, Sučić, Pašalić, Pongračić recently into our playing rotation.
He’s a likeable guy and a proud Croat. We could do much worse.
I think there are tactically far better coaches even in our small pool of unemployed Croatian coaches (like Jurić or Bjelica) but Dalić’s calmness, stability and ability to be friends with everyone (from players to fans to HNS executives) has been a positive.
Maminjo you are an idiot. Always crapping on Dalic and throwing out names like Kek or Bjelica. Neither of these guys come close to the success of Dalic.
People underestimate Dalic and that is fine. He continues to lead this group for several years and no Croatian manager has come close. Everyone else enough with this ridiculous Bilic talk that seems to come up every once in awhile.
I only hope Dalic stays on for the WC. He deserves it and this team loves playing for him — that is important! He has this team clicking and it is a pleasure to watch. We have been spoiled since Dalic came onto the scene and it unfortunate some don’t recognize that on this site.
Actually, Kek and Bjelica have had better coaching careers than Dalic. They are better coaches tactically, but they are both also hotheads…so it’s debatable whether they would have had as much success as Dalic.
People underestimate Dalic, yes, but I also think people underestimate our players as well.
We have generational talent on this squad (and not just Modric) and being able to get the best out of this team makes you an instant contender.
Again, you are just an emotional person (you remind me of my wife actually)…but you should re-read my post and tell me which part is me “crapping on Dalic” or which part of what I wrote is untrue.
“People underestimate Dalic, yes, but I also think people underestimate our players as well.”
I think Dalic has often given more than enough faith in players but there have been times where those players good him and the team for granted and coasted. the game you were talking about in nations League when they lost had more to do with them playing at a snails pace, lacking urgency, no pressing at all…he gives instructions but they didn’t execute.
“ better coaching careers than Dalić “. LMAO. Yeah Bjelica gets fired even second season. You remind me of those narcissistic fools who just keep repeating the same drivel over and over. Your poor wife, I feel sorry for her.
You seem to be the hothead like Kek and Bjelica. Maybe when Dalić leaves you can reach out to HNS and advise them of your hero. Kek. I am sure he will take them to the promise land like he did with Slovenia. You are amusing, thank you for the laugh.
????
remember when he would only make subs during the last 10mins of the game and would not use them all? And that was when only 3 subs were permitted. He’s definitely not a genius tactician.
That was Cacic
Damn Maminjo…did Dalic sleep with your sister or something and not call her back?
Can you point to any part of my post that is untrue?
I’m not bashing the guy. I’m stating the truth of what happened.
People here seem to think with their emotions, but we can simply look at posts from these same people after Euro2020 and verify everything that I am saying.
Dalic has done very well, but it was still a learning process for him which almost cost him his job.
Didn’t Croatian sports have inside info that dalic was fired and modric was actually coaching the team at those euros. And he was supposed to fired immediately following their elimination?
I also don’t think it was just dalic that lead to that low point following the WC, it was a real group effort from modric (who took a lot of time off) on down
“He got lazy after the 2018 World Cup, and thought he could just sit back and roll out the same lineup for Euro2020. When he realized he couldn’t, then he panicked and started experimenting during the tournament.”
so let me ask you something Maminjo. we started the 2020 tournament with Rebic up front…who revealed himself as a complete headcase, Vida and Caleta Car as our central defenders and Kramaric who was looking to find himself. Gvardiol played his first game in an international tournament for the senior squad as a left back. we were thin with players not having the right attitude, we couldn’t score and lets not forget the flare situation vs Czech Republic.
Dalic brought in Ante Budimir (ineffective), Ivanusec (ineffective), Petkovic, Brekalo (ineffective), Orsic and Juranovic (ineffective) and back then, Orsic, Ivanusec, Juranovic, Petkovic were all pretty inexperienced at that level and they probably weren’t even ready for that level…but we didn’t have better options at the time.
BTW – Modric was mad because Dalic didn’t tell Rebic to go pound sand. He asked Dalic to be more assertive, he liked his style and never mentioned a thing about it.
Only Perisic created chances…what options did we have back then?
What do you think he could have done better?
I think it was pretty much consensus on here (and everywhere for that matter) that he not throw away the Nations League matches like he did and start integrating players into the lineup in preparation for the Euros. But it seemed like he had decided (three years in advance) to have his 2018 lineup for those Euros in 2021, so he treated the Nations league games as a scrimmage which killed our FIFA rank and Euro tournament seeding (dropping us from a Pot 1 team to almost a Pot 3 team).
If we want to get specific, it was pretty obvious that he intended to always start Sime Vrsaljko at RB at Euro2021, despite Vrsaljko being injured for the better part of three years. Dalic had no backup plan, but this was self inflicted. He only started to include Juranovic into the lineup DURING the actual tournament (after it was painfully obvious that Vrsaljko was nowhere near his old self, and had to be benched for the Czech game).
Same goes for our LB position where he didn’t integrate Gvardiol until the ACTUAL FIRST GAME of the tournament when he got his first full cap against England. Same goes for Ivanusec, another player who received their first cap during the tournament.
Also, when Perisic got COVID scammed out of the game against Spain…it was only in the last 10 minutes of the game did we decide to play Mislav Orsic. This was a player who was in full form and absolutely amazing, scalping EPL London teams for fun. He singlehandedly scored and set up the two goals to take it to extra time (which actually saved Dalic his job).
We could had done so much better that tournament, but we literally didn’t even know what we had, and we experimented DURING the tournament (only after it became painfully obvious that Plan A wasn’t going to work).
Now compare things to today.
Is Dalic going to cap someone the first time at this tournament and rely on them to do well?
OF COURSE NOT.
Dalic learned his lesson. He’s integrated younger depth guys like Sucic, Baturina, Marco Pasalic into the lineup well in advance of the tournament…and he’s already tested out at least TWO options at every position ready to go.
I expect us to have a very good tournament.
We are going to the Quarterfinals at least. It all really depends on who we get paired up with in those Quarters (it will likely be one of Germany or England).
Either of those will be 50/50 matches for us, and unless we get VAR’ed, we could end up in the Finals.
poor breakdown, most of what you wrote is incorrect
Such as?
follow the lines, the comment wasn’t a reply to you
Ah. My mistake.
I remember when we’d played a game in Osijek and Dalic would bring in Mile Skoric. Our site went berzerk and many here said he’s an idiot while they never understood his method of “earning respect” from his players. Those type of gestures go a long way…it demonstrates respect to the players club and the city he is representing as well. Lots of people here criticized his player choices and his substitutions along the way but the one thing many of us didn’t do is acknowledge when he did make the changes we all hoped he would…even though we felt it took longer than we hoped for.
The very first BIG decision I felt Dalic had to deal with was who was going to win the striker spot. Prior to the tournament Mandzukic wasn’t scoring for us although N Kalinic did…and that eventually caused drama. You see folks, we see things from a 60,000 foot level while Dalic has eyes on the ground level. For whatever reason he decided that Mandzukic had more “overall value” than Kalinic would give him and Kalinic felt betrayed. Mandzukic was a massive hero at Juventus while Kalinic was not effective at AC Milan or Atletico…nevertheless, Dalic chose Mandzukic as his preferred starter and I think he chose the correct guy.
From time to time we’ve had some really bad spells. Apparently Modric and a few senior players told Dalic he had to be a little more decisive and in control of personalities and I think Dalic eventually managed that part very well. Its not easy to earn respect while you’re trying to also have a sense of friendliness about yourself, the balance can be a challenge but I do believe Dalic has found the line where being a friend/family member and getting respect from his players without losing the authority a coach.
I believe Dalic has forced Modric to be a little more assertive, I believe Dalic has given some players like Vlasic some extra credit and I respect him for that. After all, he see’s everything from the ground level while I sit my ass on the sofa and do not have a totally realistic point of view.
I’m proud of you Ante…for giving the man the respect he deserves…AND FOR ACKNOWLEDGING HIS OPINIONS AND TACTICS/STRATEGIES…he is our best ever. I love how much Dalic bring in his faith into the sport, his personal life and to our National Team. He’s always thinking of how to be respectful but he’s also got teeth and he’s able to stand up for his team when he has to!
…one more thing!
Have you guys ever noticed that he only wants interviews done in the Croatian language?! He does that in case the Croatian fans back home don’t understand English….I mean what a guy!!!!
Kvartuč thought that Šime Vrsaljko play left back…….take what he writes with a grain of salt.
Dear Dalic,
Instruct your team to stop taking those useless short corners.
Do not let Modric take pk’s.
Keep Vlasic in the dressing room.
………………etc.
Why do you guys actually think we take these short corner? All I can think of is maybe they think they have a better opportunity keeping posession and scoring instead of a set piece and than get caught on a counter when most of the team is far up the field. We don’t have the fastest team.
Modric hit a perfect PK against Portugal. I say keep taking em.
“Dalić, you are a true tactician. You are a master of strategy.”
Lmao, is this a joke? Tactically dalic is still noob, although not as bad as before. Ultimately, his learning came at a cost on behalf of our national team.
With the best ever group of Croatian players Dalic only has a 51% win ratio while bilic for example had 64%. But we definitely played harder teams during dalics era.
We could write a whole dissertation on the wrong decisions dalic has made so far. I’ll keep it short and only mention a few of the mess ups from the past euro cup; playing rebic striker over budimir, playing vlasic winger, snubbing orsic for playing time, and the brekalo playing at right back situation against spain was perhaps the ultimate sin!
Furthermore, continually playing the MBK midfield against lower tier teams is dumb and boring. Against wales and turkey we played MBK and got fuckedd. Should have just sat one of the main three and played with something like petkovic uptop, majer behind, and two wingers.
Just a month before we smoke latvia 5-0 cuz only two of the 3 mids played giving us an extra attacking player.
MBK is fine against spain or italy, but against albania we will see if dalic truly learned anything.
The good things dalic does with the team is the try hard attitude and team building i assume.
What about Dalic playing Dario Melnjak in all of the friendlies leading up to the Euro and dropping him last minute and starting Gvardi.
What about his failure to fully utilize Orsic.
The list goes on and on…….
STFU.
We missed 2010 WC with Bilic.
I don’t think the team wanted to go to South Africa. They didn’t miss much, it’s a World Cup that is rarely mentioned. Anyone recall a stand-out match from that tournament?…..
I agree with most of this. It was a lovely read. But as much as I like Dalic we should have won a trophy (we still have time) by now and I cant say for certain that another coach wouldn’t have got us one. Dalic is not a great coach, but he’s great for Croatia NT.
Would be pretty funny if he left, then the next coach takes us to the 2026 World Cup and wins it.
Bravo Ante! Well said. Now is the time for all Croatians to get 100% behind our team! I absolutely love this entire #family #obitelj theme. Bog i Hrvati!
Well said. For short tournaments and the top level, managing egos is just as important as tactics, if not more. Dalic has done well.
Nemas pojma glupane
Well said about Dalic Marko. Its how I feel too.
Suker lob over Schmeichel is beyond iconic
But fact is he was 5+ yards offside when Asanovic released the ball (just stop the vid when the ball was released – than look at the linesman top of screen – his starting position was terrible (15 yards away from the defensive line !) so he starts running back to where Suker was but by that time it was too late so he stops and start running back with run of play)
Imagine if the goal was (rightly) ruled off-side – we’d never talk about it again

Why didn’t we see an article like this for the great Ante Čačić? Hopefully he can repair my LED TV before the tournament starts LMAO
I thought he was a vacuum repair man
A pretty fair take
Glad to see ante and the site as a whole slowly and finally coming around to my characterization of successful Croatia football over the last several years as a possession based, take the air out of the ball type style
A more possession focused Greece euro 2004 style if you will
Also, vital to that is maintaining the trident of modric, brozovic and kovacic
Again with the Greece connection. Greece played possession based soccer? Are you f’ing crazy? Their opponents controlled every game and they just sat back and countered. You are out of your mind.
Truth smokes pot. Clueless.
I remember the pundits talking like Brazil was gonna beat us 5-0. Then there was this point in the first half where we batted around the ball like we were playing versus children. WE GOT THIS THING! …. Did Brazil “outplay” us? Sure. But Greece style? Nemoj me jebat.
I’ll bite. Do you even read these things? “Greece played bunker in 2004.”
I’m referring to one-trick pony. Strategies.
90s Italy. Possession. Would win every game 1-0
Greece. Bunker bunker bunker…and pray.
Spain. All tiki-taka midfield with no striker.
We have been all possession.
Good luck Croatia, Modric & co deserve silverware, Yes Dalic deserves the utmost respect alongside the best, most humble player in The World, LUKA MODRIC, his humbleness keeps the whole team grounded & united. C’MON BOYS PLAY YOUR HEARTS OUT & FEAR NO ONE BUT GOD, AS YOUR HUMBLE COACH & MODRIC.
GOD BLESS CROATIA

Finally, the Majstor, Zlatko Dalić gets some respect.
Wow Ante, it’s like the scales have fallen from your eyes and you’ve finally seen the light!
Dalić has put on a master class of how to manage a football team over the last seven years. His tactics, team culture (in regards to work ethic and cohesion) conditioning, awareness of our teams strengths and our opponents weaknesses have been impeccable! Not to mention the way the man carries himself.
A truly faith filled and humble man. Success happens when you put first things first.
Ajmo dečki!!!
????????????????????
Bog i Hrvati
He has done an amazing job over the years and as some are predicting he could be leaving at the end of EURO. According to VL his annual salary is $1.5 million Euros and is 11th from the 24 coaches at the EURO when it comes to money.
Hallleluya, every single manager in the world is criticised by pundits who know better.
However, Dalic has been there since 2017 (incredible for a National Manager let alone a Croatian one) and has delivered results with a talented team (that had few glaring weaknesses) that was never the most talented and often underestimated by everyone and especially England.
Incredible achievement and definitely the greatest Croatian manager in my time.
Well said, “cooking up 5-star Michelin meals for six years with a few ingredients and some Vegeta.” Dobar tek! Dalić is a legend.
Been reading posts for some time and never had a desire to comment until today.
Respect with this article.
Too often people don’t reflect on the great things they have at the moment. Dalić has been a blessing for all Croatians. No matter what happens a huge thank you to him for always putting Croatia’s best interest first!
