Look, Ante Budimir is having an absolutely spectacular season in La Liga this season at Osasuna. The guy has 16 goals in 30 matches. But his Monday night penalty kick gaffe will go down as one of the worst taken kicks from the spot…maybe ever. It’s so bad that it’s good. We should all laugh about it now and hopefully Budimir can laugh about it sooner than later.
Budimir waited for the Valencia goalie to make a move on his run-up. However, the keeper never moved and Budimir ended up handcuffing himself with no speed up to the ball. Soft penalty shots work when the shooter is in control and the goalie makes the first move. They look silky smooth. But, they can also be a complete disaster when the goalie stays put and the shooter has zero power on the ball. Doubt Budimir ever tried that one again!
Alas, it happens. Jebiga. What are you going to do? The only thing that sucks is that Budimir would have tied Girona’s Artem Dovbyk on 17 goals for the La Liga lead if he would have converted the penalty. Budimir also missed a sitter in front of the net in the 2nd half from a perfect sideline cross. Not a good night for Budimir but still Croatia’s starting #9 at Euro 2024 this summer. No questions asked.
He should NOT start for the NT.
Unfortunately I agree
Given overwhelming demand
Here are Jarrod Bowen’s (aka Marco P’s comp) first 50 goals for West Ham
Enjoy

Anonymous is Jarrod Bowen😳
Honestly this looks like the vibe he had been giving off all these past years when playing for the rep, unfortunately.
I’m worried that this H U G E fail will undermine his confidence back to where it was and make him as useless as he had been before the past year for us. This clumsiness is still within him – honestly, I’d take this as a warning to think about it twice before making him our first striker… also he apparently broke 3 ribs?? Doesn’t sound good for a Euro that close.
I feel like a real good striker/player doesn’t make mistakes THAT bad, even if the goalie didn’t end up moving in the end, he’s supposed to be trained to think fast and compensate for it…
Anyone know why the new Croatian kit is not available at nike.com?
Not sure why, but it links to official site for merch:
https://www.nike.com/hr/football?q=croatia&vst=croatia&redirect=true
Just buy it from HNS.
But you’ll probably have to pay a high amount for shipping.
Count your self lucky, Nike has not even issued bothered to issue the Slovene Jersy design yet, and we are getting pretty close to tournament time. Apparently, you need to have a population of more than to 2 million to have a jersey issued more than every 4 years, I guess. Having the best goalie, striker, and coach should count for something.
When Slovenia starts qualifying for every tournament, and becomes a regular contender (or dark horse) in each of them, as well as winning multiple tournament medals (World Cups, Nations League)…THEN we can talk about committing some time and dollars toward a Slovenia kit. 😉
So true LOL!
Oblak is the best goalie in 2024? Nemoj me jebat! And Šeško couldn’t score in a brothel v. Real. Dude was brutal.
Slovenia has a better keeper and coach than we do…and Sesko is a great striker prospect (still too young though).
Problem is that midfield. Slovenia has never had a creative type of midfielder (other than maybe Zahovic).
As for the football kits…
They need a re-brand. We all know that they’re just going to have green kits with a “mountain” on it.
I guess it makes sense since they are the Zmajevi (Dragons) which is where the green comes from …but they also have the Alps (which is why they always draw a mountain on it)…
But I think they should just stick with a modern neon green and cut out the mountain crap.
Maybe the Nike executives will settle on a Cvicek Red Ljubljana Fire breathing Winged Dragon for away kit. Understated conservative Slovenes, they would not like it.
Agreed than Jan turned 31 and is going over Triglav real soon. Could be 2010 Stipe Pletikosa territory all over again, no doubt.
We stayed just one tournament to long with Stipe, when Subasic was clearly ready to step in. It is hard to know when to make that change especially with a longtime team favorite.
I would still be playing Olic if I could, tap in specialist, so I am the worst.
No one gives a shit about Slovenia lol
Oblak with the four pack (so far).

Cheap knockoffs
Not sure what’s going on…I spoke to the owner of a local soccer store a few months ago. He told me Nike won’t be sending them any Croatia kits this year. ..even though it’s always their best seller.
Step 1 – Romano pushing our Marco P (aka our Jarrod Bowen)
Step 2 – Marco P keeps pushing every game at Rijeka until end of season (hopefully he can continue to contribute some nice goals / assists)
Step 3 – Croatiansports.com does a dedicated article v-a-v Marco P starting at RW during Euros (subject to Marco P performing per Step 2 above)
Step 4 – Dalic starts Marco P at Euros – Marco P takes the world by storm
Step 5 – post Euros – Marco P gets >GBP 50m transfer to a big club
😉

Marco Pašalić is on the list of several major clubs, as he could leave Rijeka in the summer.
He is considered an opportunity and one of the best Croatian upcoming players this season, with European clubs keen on the move. 🚨

Why do I keep hearing about this (copy/paste) Jarrod Bowen guy on croatiansports.com. Who gives a fuck.
Why dont you blow Bowen already for FS
He should give Mile Jedinak a call, Mile never missed a penalty throughout his career.
Never mind missed spot kick, apparently Budimir has suffered 3 broken ribs.
Bad news with EURO only 2 months away. Usually takes six weeks to recover from broken ribs.
Darn always something. Sounds like Budimir will be better by than , albeit with a layoff, with a potential to get rusty.
Jebiga! All strikers miss. Onwards.
Yikes, A bad day at the office, …..paralysis by over analysis. Life goes on.
Looks like it’s Bruno up top for these Euros.
Better luck next tournament Budimir.
Jebiga, but that’s an awful penalty
Please have the volume up dečki….lol
