45′ Beljo pulls one back for Dinamo at the strike off halftime with an easy tap-in in front of the Genk goal. Absolute perfect pass from Fran Topić to make it happen. Genk dominated the entire 1st half but Dinamo will be happy to only be down a goal at this point.
Dinamo received a fantastic draw in being paired with Belgian club Genk in the Europa League playoff round. The two clubs will face off against each other across two legs for a spot in the Round of 16.
Leg 1 kicks off at Maksimir Thursday night. Livaković will return to goal for Dinamo in European action for the first time since his return. Beljo, Hoxha and Topić will start in attack for Dinamo on a cold and rainy night in Zagreb.

DDB
Can someone explain what he’s doing on the first goal against
He’s standing in the box by himself – no Genk player around him – for some reason he’s 100% focused only on the player taking the corner – but it’s obvious based on how Genk is lined-up pre kick – that a bunch of their players will be running into the box / toward the net
Why doesn’t he look over his shoulder and scan the players coming in – if he can help on defensive side – at first he takes a step forward – but soon realizes the ball is going to go over his head and doesn’t do anything just stand there
If he followed the ball over his head – he could have at least put off the Genk player that got the header – I mean at least TRY to do something on this play – and after taking steps back – jump and put off the Genk player
But doing nothing ?
Unreal

Old news.
We’re all on the “Igor is not having fun in London” headline.
(then when you click on the clickbait article, you realize that it means that he’s no-nonsense and is just in London to work and not see any of the sights)
Surprise surprise

Real Madrid leading the race to sign Luka V
Remember Anonymous told you he’s TOO GOOD for Tttenham or Bayern and the only clubs good enough for him are Real Madrid (partnership with Dean Huijsen) or Barca (they need 2x CBs)
Yes – Anonymous Olympic Gold Medal Eye Tests are the best the World has even seen (stating the obvious)
FYI – Luka ain’t playing Friday 2:30pm (as he has 5 yellow cards missing the game) – Anonymous will keep eyes on his Jaga (Sunday 09am) and of course Igor Tudor massive NLD (Sunday 11:30am)
We need Gvardiol to go there to.
It’s the natural progression move for Gvardiol too.
Baturina going there would give them their prime Eden Hazard 2.0 as well.
Yes, having gvardi and him together play all year would be amazing
I always go back to the early 2010 run with Spain and how they mostly all played together during the year
That is a huge help
Baturina will for sure be moving big if he keeps progressing
Like others said jaga on that other side in the future
Results like this makes me ponder for the Mislav halcyon days, when he would provide hat tricks against the likes of Tottenham. Like horseshoes out of a cannon, shots that would ring the goal post, as they ricocheted into the goal.
Stimac said he told Dalic to call up CB Duje Dujmovic
So add him to your lists of potential young CBs
He played the full game for Zrinjski today according to Sofascore. Rumour is he will leave both the team and the Bosnian league and step up to tougher competition elsewhere next season. Anyone see the Zrinjski game today and have a report on Dujmovic?
Would Dinamo look at him for the next HNL season?

As reminder – Luka V has faced Harry twice – no other Croatia defender not named Gvardiol has even faced him once – that alone is why he should start vs. England
Second, Portugese journalist saying Prestanni won’t play for Benfica this weekend match as he’s a BIG DISTRACTION at the club now – fingers crossed Franjo gets a f-ing start

Good 1 – 0 away win by Rijeka although it has to be said with a bit of good fortune. Omonia missed some good chances in the match and then in the 86th minute Adu scored for Rijeka with a beautiful back heal flick on the near post.
Adu is on loan to Rijeka from Bournemouth.
Toni Fruk was a bit disappointing for Rijeka and got subbed midway through the second half. Not sure that he is national team material ?
Barisic played well at right back and saved a certain goal in the 9th minute when he slid in to block a shot on empty goal. He did pick up a yellow card and was very lucky not to pick up his second yellow in the second half for a silly foul and was smartly subbed immediately after.
Pretty sure adu has been sold to Rijeka, not a loan. At least that’s what the Bournemouth website says.
Thanks for the report @MART!
Thanks Gabi you are correct he has been sold to Rijeka.
That sucks 3-1 for Genk. It makes their second leg that much tougher.
We are hurting in the striker department.
I don’t really like Beljo from the two matches I have seen him in. He is nothing special.
Stojković is very good. Mišić is great as CDM.
For the call ups those two seem to be very good as options.
As far as strikers go the only ones that I can see going forward are Matanović, Budimir, and potentially Musa. I am not sure where Ivanovic sits right now pecking order, but he hasn’t played much it seems.
Bad start to the match by Dinamo proved very costly. Losing 3 -1 at home means it is all over.
Hopefully Rijeka will do better against Omonia?
I am really surprised Mišić has never gotten a call up from Dalic. He is really good from what I see. Great clearance there under pressure from Genk.
He has good vision and skill on the ball.
It must be because he does not play in a top five league.
Last ten minutes of the first half a lot better from Dinamo after a poor start to the match. Beljo has picked up a yellow card, his second in Europe this campaign meaning that he misses the return leg.
Not looking good for Dinamo 20 minutes in and already 2 – 0 down.
Genk look a very good team.
