DINAMO WIN 2-1 WITH TWO PK’S FROM SAMMIR
After winning the first leg 2-0 in Hungary, Dinamo defeated Gyor 2-1 at Maksimir Thursday night with two penalties by Sammir after going down 1-0 early. With the win, Dinamo Zagreb are placed in Pot 3 for the Europa League group stage draw which takes place at 7AM (Eastern) live on UEFA.com. Dinamo will not be the favorite to get out of the group stage once again this year, but let’s see if they can surprise their fans with an upset to finally get over that Group Stage hump.
EDITOR’S NOTE: CSR apologizes for the poor live coverage today of the Hajduk and Dinamo Zagreb matches. For those of you who believe CSR has a stronger bias towards Hajduk, we would like you to know that is not the case. CSR was experiencing feed issues as well as breaks in the internet today. That is the reason no goals were reported during the Hajduk game as we missed the bookend moments of the match. We once again apologize for the poor coverage and meant no disrespect towards Dinamo and their fans. -Ante Kvartuč
WHEN DOES LONČARIĆ PLAN TO DIVE FOR THE BALL?
DINAMO GO THROUGH WITH AN INSURANCE PENALTY FROM SAMMIR
HAJDUK WILL ALSO JOIN DINAMO IN EUROPA LEAGUE
With a 1-1 draw in Romania Thursday night, Hajduk Split will join Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League group stage. However, Hajduk will have a tough road as they have been placed in Pot 4 as the lowest ranked team left in European competition. Hajduk played bunker against Unirea and dodged a few bullets as the Romanians had their chances to make it 2-0 or worse. After a red card late for each side, Hajduk slipped one by for a 1-1 draw. Can the boys from Split make some noise in Europe this season?
EUROPA LEAGUE POT SEEDINGS
I cant see Hajduk getting any points on the road; outside chance at Anderlecht is somehow Hajduk is still in contention going into the last game. But I give them no chance in Greece or Russia. the team is so young that these guys will shit their pants on the road.
At home anything is possible, Hajduk always plays well against better teams when at home. I would not rule out a shock win.
As for Dinamo, they have a better chance at 2nd place, but i just dont see it for them.
Wasn't Anderlecht a pain in DZ side when both were playing for the CL qualifying? I hope Hajduk dispose of them, as they should.

Although I can't stand neither team in the Prva Liga but, bravo Dinamo and Hajduk – do Croatia proud and get all the coefficient points you can get!
Europa Liga qualification is bigger news for Hajduk than Dinamo. Hajduk are more excited about their side than we are just now as we have work to do.
Its only a few days before the deadline. i'd like to see Sivonjic and Dodo still go to Zapresic. I can't believe Andrej Keric is still not on our radar. If Salata and Senegalese guy arrive i don't know what to think as i think Dinamo is suppose to have a role of making players for the national team not creating players for Slovakia or Senegal..
After some thought, probably the best possible draw for Hajduk could be the following:
CSKA Moscow
Steaua Bucresti/Dinamo Kyiv
Red Bull Salzburg
Hajduk
For Dinamo a good draw would look something like this:
Stuttgart/AZ
Brugge/Sampdoria
Dinamo
Debrecen
It's good that we have our teams in the tournament, and hopefully this is the first step in a longer term trend.
The boys will be in tough though, especially Hajduk if they get stuck with Sevilla, Man City, and Dortmund in the same group. Ouch. Either way whatever group they are in, they have a huge task ahead of them. Hopefully we can muster some surprises!!
Apology accepted.
I didn't think Hajduk would be the lowest seeded team going into the lottery, but hey, getting this far is an accomplishment. Looking forward to the group games because i don't have my hopes up. I like being the underdog.
@ Ante,
Internet was in and out today and I couldn't find a decent feed for Dinamo. Simple as that.
@ Ziva,
Yes, there are more Hajduk supporters on CSR, but doesn't mean they need to go to another site for Croatian news. If it was Istra in a Europa League game, we would be covering it. Just a technical slip up today.
for you guys crying about being biased in favor of hajduk over dinamo, go find anohter website.
I actually think the coverage is fair and reflects the people on this website. Seems like there are more hajduk fans, so the discussion will focus more on hajduk. What is hard to understand about that.
There are a million websites out there, I am sure you can find one that has a specific focus on one team or create your own.
Dinamo is through too.
btw. Markovic and Platini in discussions…

Jelavic is already cup tied to Rapid Wien. He played in their first set of qualifying matches. Had Rapid been eliminated, then he could've played.
Same reason why Lovren could not play for Lyon last year, and why Mascherano has been left off Liverpool's squad, so he can transfer to Barcelona.
stop being biased toward jajduk. update dinamo equally!
I don't understand why Jelavic can't play for the Rangers in CL. What fine logic is UEFA using there?
Jelavic won't be in CL, due to Rapid Vienna once again eliminating Aston Villa.
1:1 Sammir PK 45
Are you guys going to be focusing on the Dinamo as much as you have been with Hajduk?
loncaric didnt even go for that??????
