The Croatian domination of the footballing world continues in style.
Dinamo Zagreb displayed a different class of football against an unsuspecting Hapoel Beer-Sheva on Tuesday evening, who left Zagreb after a five-goal thumping. The second leg of the second leg of the Champions Leg qualifiers will take place on Tuesday, July 31
Goals scorers ranged from newcomer Izet Hajrović who opened the floodgates in the 20th minute with his debut goal as a member of the Modri to veterans like Arijen Ademi, who tallied two goals on the night. Mislav Oršić and Armin Hoždić both registered a goal in the match.
Dinamo has brought on several reinforcements that have evidently paid off; additions such as defenders Kévin Théophile-Catherine and Emir Dilaver have helped solidify an impressive back line, and goal scoring additions like Hajrović and Lovro Majer will make Dinamo a force not to be taken lightly.
The 5-0 is coming off the high experienced by Croatia after the unprecedented display on the world stage. Though no current Dinamo players participated in the most recent tournament, Croatia’s heart and sole and been passed down from the Vatreni to the Modri.
Hajduk Split is looking to use some of that passion themselves, who will be facing off in the second round of qualifiers tomorrow against Slavia Sofia. Hajduk is expected to advance to the next round, but must take the match with all due caution.
NK Osijek will look to continue their winning ways in the Europa League, bu face the toughest challenge of all. They will travel to Glasgow to take on the new and improved Rangers Football Club in the first leg of the second round of Europa League qualifiers. Though victory is attainable, Rangers will prove to be a difficult task for the boys from the Garden City.
HNK Rijeka await the start of the third round of Europa League qualifying.
@ Billy – haha, nicer car than I have.
@Iggy – very sharp guy. Hope he follows up on her – should be interesting.
Bobby, that was awesome! Your mate Luka Misetic is a champ!

@Billy, I’m going to get Mrs. Falbo to kick her ass! Looks like she’s going to buy her playoff tickets in…..Banja Luka!

Interesting twitter war going on with Cristina Maza, a journalist for Newsweek who wrote an article about the celebrations in Zagreb after the final.
She falsely accused Thompson of shouting fascist slogans in Ban Jelicic Square and is getting heavily criticized.
My childhood friend, Luka Misetic, who was General Ante Gotovina’s lawyer, is now involved and is going to announce a lawsuit against her and Newsweek.
Please check out the battle on Twitter and add your comments.

He actually sucks!
If pjaca is not well. Olmo will take his spot. He is now Croatian.
My bad. Just saw it. My apologies.
And do the moderated comments appear eventually or are they deleted entirely ?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5966249/Daily-host-Trevor-Noah-accused-racism-joking-Africa-won-World-Cup.html
Big comedian Trevor noah on daily show sort of mocked the team africa france actually won the world cup. Some french politician went berserk criticising the show.noah can get away with his comments we can’t so,the cup remains stolen from the rightful owners,I will never respect their cheating or deserve to lay their hands on that trophy.
How often are you guys having comments that are not offensive in any way deleted? Just curious
I know I’m going to sound like a pain in the ass here but there’s a big difference between moderating comments and just deleting every 5th comment randomly.
Sucks to have your comment deleted but it’s a decent start to hopefully a better process of moderating the trolls/shit disturbers.
Do you guys think any of our players will go to bigger and better clubs after their performances this World Cup? Can’t trust the news. So far half the team has been linked with Man united before, durIng and after the World Cup. I’ve read about Man united being interested in Vrsaljko, Perisic, Modric, Rakitic, Mandzukic, Kovacic, Rebic, Brozovic even at one point or another.
A load of BS or do you think some or any of our players will actually change clubs?
Maminjo – great post concerning coaches.
Does anyone get these urges to pound on some
French fags? I swear I could murder one,
@maminjo. Luka won’t do prison. He will get pardoned by Kolinda. If there is such a rule of law in hrv. I assume yes. Could be wrong though.
Good news on Luka. We got a chance to do real well at Euro2020 for sure! Looking forward to it : )
Yeah lol i noticed the tat on Ivan wife’s arse too haha
It was either Euros or Prison for him.
Luka said he will be available for the euros. Hvala bogu!
I sax the first 60 minutes of the Hajduk game. Really, really bad.
Full faith in Pjaca to come back stronger.
He needs now to play regularly and get into a rhythm with his game.
Rebić was in limbo for years till he locked in with Frankfurt.
Pjaca needs to find any club where he can start and play regular minutes.
This is what his body needs to fully recover.
Serious knee injuries go through a long process to get back to full function.
He is young and has all the resources to make it happen.
He look more rusty than weak to me.
23 years old?
He has 8-10 years ahead of him at top level.
Question is .. how bad does he want it?
Schalke loan went south for him.
Ante Coric looks Uber confident on the ball.
Got a lot kids in their 20’s looking for a spot?
speaking of hajduk they just went up 1-0 with croat ahmed said
Whoever brought up the foreigners in Dinamos game..Here are some “Croats”from todays Hajduk game Lopez, Fomitschow, Hamza, Said, Gyursco, Ivanovski. 6 players
He lost that explosive first step that he would use to blow right by the opposition.
He was also strong (like Rebić) where the opposition couldn’t even push him unless they fouled him hard. But he was a lot more explosive and technically more gifted than Rebić.
Having a wing duo of Rebić and Pjaca would be amazing for the next World Cup.
Pjaca has been surrounded by world class physios at Juve and Schalke, his ACL recovery doesn’t require anything more than a will to be better and some self confidence at this point. Maybe seeing Ronaldo’s work ethic might turn him around. I’d hate to say we saw his peak vs. Spain at Euro 2016.
The truth thinks hes a Football Knowledge God hes a questionable character.
All the Trolls are back, lead by Truth troll. Geez this site needs moderation (not just blocking one out of 4 comments and calling it moderating)
Who cares about Danish football and @Filip Rakitic wife has breast implants so yeah not jealous to fake for my liking.
Word is Josip Radosevic will not be in the lineup today for Hajduk and may be on his way to join Ante Erceg with Danish club Brondby, who Hajduk eliminated last season in the Europa League.
One can never underestimate jealousy.
@Croatsky
Rakitic’s wire has a soccer ball tattooed on her ass lol.
Luka Modric is wearing a silver chain cant he afford a golden one. Maybe Kovacic will purchase the new Lakers James jersey. Rakitic wife je mala kurvica.
https://www.croatiaweek.com/where-croatias-world-cup-stars-are-holidaying/
If he will not be close to his form why are teams even bothering with him ?
@Iggy don’t be surprised if that was done by Australia’s Greek Community.
@The truth
“i said he may never be the same player again.”
I think he may be the same player he was before he was injured, which wasn’t as good as Perisic has been!
I said not to declare pee-ass-a the next great player cause of media hype
I said if all went well he could be as good as perisic someday
And when he got hurt, i said he may never be the same player again
And now everyone is on board with my thoughts… You all get there eventually
Just like when i nicknamed me-first kramaric…. And soon enough his coach realized, his teammates and this board… How many comments did we hear about him not passing the ball up this tournament?
That being said, i still like him as a player
Serbia misses out on tournaments or they get eliminated in the group stages. Below average team they are they will always be jealous our players since Yugoslavia Prosinecki Suker and Boban have been the best players.
Serbs will always be jealous from when we got 3rd Bronze at the 1998 World Cup. Now that we have finished second with Silver medal at the 2018 World Cup. When Jugoslavija won the Under 21 Tournament in Chile in 1987 Robert Prosinecki won the Golden Ball our players were always carrying them with Suker and Boban.
It appears there are some salty Serbs in Melbourne, graffiting this lovely mural – well, was lovely:

Hajduks opening and last home game Slavia Sofia could knock them out. Ante Coric played the last 30 mins for Roma in the 4:1defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
@Maminjo – totally agree re coaches as you mentioned it’s former players with no coaching experience. We also hired coaches from Cro – Ciro, Baric, Jozic, Kranjcar, Cacic, Dalic etc
I still think we lucked out with Dalic. The tools were there. A coach won’t show them how to kick a ball at this stage of their careers. These guys are pros, I think we played well, were fortunate and Dalic was able to get the best out of a lot of players.
With that being said aside from a foreign coach what other Cro coaches do we have as options should Dalic take another job?
…by the way, Cico and I agree that if Dalic has started Badelj in the final, none of France’s goals from run of play would have happened – all occurred where he would have been.
Cico and I will be at Poljud tomorrow for Hajduk’s opening European game vs. Slavia Sofia.
Ziva got us seats where the Wi-Fi is the best, and they deliver beer to you just like at Wrigley Field.
We will be holding a banner depicting Slavonac from Canada wearing a Hajduk home jersey.
Come join us!
Well, to tell the truth, Pjaca came back strong but tweaked his knee early in his Schalke comeback.
Realistically, he has already doped. You think the Doctors at Juventus et al don’t do this? Much too big of a business to not implement systematic doping. Almost impossible to get caught in soccer, too much corruption. I personally know many local nimrods that dope, and they aren’t paid millions to be in top shape like Pjaca.
Pjaca probably needs another surgery, but I am sure he will hold off until he is sure the knee won’t get better with time.
Truth Troll trolling again with childish nicknames and revisionist history about “what he said”
^ ^
Checkmate!
Take a seat Truth.
You said that he was never good, and then he killed it at the Euros and Juve bought him for 23 million Euro.
It’s interesting that so many are now fretting about marko pee-ass-a’s health when i have now said for nearly a year he is likely to never be the same player again and everyone bashed me for my realism
I’m hoping that the recent success in the World Cup inspires Croatian club teams to do well in European Competition. I’m pulling for all our teams.
And reaching the World Cup final is like the footballing equivalent of going to the moon! The achievement signals to the World that Croatia has become a footballing power.
We ain’t gonna disappear like Romania and Bulgaria…we gotta whole lotta talent in the pipeline!
And Pjaca will be back, it might take some visits to Russian sports clinics, but rest assured he’ll be back. 🙂
Dinamo played very well. I was impressed.
You can’t start saying they have to do well in CL play. The Dinamo payroll does not compare to any of these big clubs. Just enjoy what they are doing. Hopefully the other crpatian teams will also step up.
Croatia will always supply top talent. We just can’t retain them.
Pjaca had a career ending injury but gotta give him credit for still battling back.
Pjaca has a Del Piero injury.
It took Del Piero three years, and illegal steroids, to recover from his knee injury.
Hopefully Pjaca does the same. Otherwise, we just lost ourselves an elite level winger.
Yeah let’s not kid ourselves about Pjaca, i know we all WANT him to pan out but he looks like a ghost out there atm. Really has no place being on the repka just atm.
As for Dalic, i mean, all these years we’ve just wanted a coach to be competent at least. Don;t necessarily have to reinvent the wheel but our past performances have been hindered so anything approaching competency is an improvement. But i do think he showed some tactical nous and deserves props for that too.
I’d like him to stay on but if he’s calling himself god’s gift to football i think it’s fair to say he’s fishing for a job outside the HNS so chances are he’ll go.
Toronto Croatia, great point on dinamo! Soul champ brate Pjaca is a shell of him self after that injury…hopefully he makes it back and reaches his potential.
Good win but not like Hapoel Beer-Sheva is some sort of powerhouse.
It’s a bit of a stretch to say Dinamo is being dominant because the national team did well …when nobody on the team played for the national team.
I’d like to see Dinamo actually win some games in the Champions league….then people will take notice.

SMS ??
I am not seeing it at all?
Pjaca will regain his health and form and out Class him.
This is a steal.
If you look at other successful teams, a lot of them are led by random mediocre coaches.
Croatia’s problem is that we hire a lot of former players who have ZERO coaching experience. You can’t do that, since they are learning on the job.
Even Čačić (who is by no means a great coach) showed a huge improvement over guys like Štimac and Kovač (who were both constantly experimenting and learning on the job).
If we just hire decent coaches with a solid track record (with our coaching salary at its current level of about $1 million), we will be fine.
We were paying guys like Štimac, Bilić and Kovač almost nothing, just so we can save some cash. We should never have to go through the “former player” coaching route again.
We had a good team at the World Cup they were bound to go far at least Semi Finals. Was Ciro a good coach or was it the players in 1998 same as with Dalic look at Phil Jackson with Bulls and Lakers its more about the players Dalic is getting to arrogant. Ciro couldnt take BiH to the World Cup.
“Hajduk Split is looking to use some of that passion themselves”
LOL. Yea right.
The same passion as ‘Nikola Kalinić’ maybe.
I’m a Hajduk fan, but that team needs a purge of their leadership. Both the organization and the Torcida fan group.
Dinamo will get no where with this team in the Champions League people need to stop dreaming.
Bjelica is a very good coach.
People forget that he took a crap Austria Vienna team to the Champions League and came just one point shy of the Round of 16.
If Dalić continues with his “Livanjska glava” syndrome and decides to not stay on as coach, Bjelica would be solid (behind Matjaž Kek of course).
