Dinamo Zagreb took care of business Tuesday night; defeating Georgian champions Saburtalo 3-0 (5-0 agg) to move onto the Champions League third qualifying round. The reigning Croatian champs will now take on Hungarian side Ferencvaros in the next round with the 1st leg at Maksimir August 7th or 8th. Ferencvaros defeated Valletta – a club from Malta – which isn’t saying much – unless you’re Hajduk of course.
In the second leg vs. Saburtalo, both sides entered halftime scoreless with Dinamo nailing down the coffin in the second half with goals from Oršić, Petković, and Olmo all in the last 15 minutes of the match.
Dinamo are on another promising course this season as they will be the favorites against the Hungarians. Last year, Dinamo made it all the way to the Europa League round of 16. It could happen again this year – but the perennial question must be asked – is it better for Dinamo to play in Champions League or Europa League?
fantasy link???
More like Dinamo Stranci/Bosanceros.
Bartolec had an outstanding season last season, making 41 appearances I think. He scored and assisted a few too. He’s one of those wingbacks that like to join the attack.
Is bartolec a real option have not really seen him play yet
Reports are coming in that Champions League bound Lille are gonna make an improved offer for Siminovic.
Also, don’t really see Jozo as a Starter, but rather as a Squad Player–which is still important, because there needs to be a serviceable option in case the Starter can’t play.
And Bartolec is an example of another Squad Player (Who I mentioned earlier in the thread).
I think jozo is good enough to come on at least as a replacement and at this point in time he would be better than say caleta car who looks slow to me
I dunno. He wasn’t that good in his first two seasons, and they tried to sell him to Torino for less than they bought him (but Torino backed out at the last second).
Not sure if he got much better, but his ceiling was never that high and it’s not like he’s some really young player.
He might be a decent backup, but nothing worth panicking about if he’s threatening to go to another country.
@ Maminjo
Some articles call him a star who knows I haven’t seen him play.
Lille was looking to get him. But you are saying Jozo is a Bozo.
Jozo wants a transfer to the EPL, but he sucks and doesn’t have any international caps with a notable team (which makes it harder to join an EPL club).
He’s trying to force his way onto Croatia’s National Team by creating this drama about leaving for Bosna, but it’s debatable whether he would ever be good enough to play for us anyway.
He may be worth a backup spot one day, but he’s not as good as the younger players we have like Benković and Ćaleta-Car. I’d rather invest the time in other players. There’s a reason why Celtic have been trying to get rid of him.
I don’t really care what happens with him either way.
Nice elvis
The guy was upset about playing time so he went next door. He knows Croatia is Grade one there and came back. Fuck it, if he is good enough and has the fire send him out in checkers.
How is one able to flip flop from one country to another…can someone enlighten me on this?
If jozo is still capable to play for Croatia cap him so he can use him in the future
He’s quite a good player
Lovren and vida will be past it soon

Where would u guys rank the championship as far as leagues?
Can we say this
EPL
La Liga
Serie A
Bundesliga
France
Championship or maybe Dutch league?
Then the rest Belgium and so forth
In my opinion Ivan Sunjic is the 10th most interesting signing in the Championship for this season, I have Krovinovic at 8.
Vukovic in my opinion should go to Leeds instead of Villa or Southampton.
Borna Sosa with a good start to the season for Stuttgart. He’s been the starting left back and recently got an assist. Stuttgart is playing in the 2nd division after being relegated last season.
Karlo Bartolec recently moved to Copenhagen, which is competing in CL qualifying.
Bartolec played the full 90 in both qualifying matches, and got a assist in the first leg. His club now progresses to the 3rd qualifying round.
The 24 year old Bartolec is a RB, and could provide some depth in that position for us.
Brekalo and Vlasic in 2019-2020 UEFA 50 for the Future. Dani Olmo included also.
Yea, Bjelica is a good coach.
If Modrić retires after Euro 2020, I can see Dalić leaving as well.
Bjelica seems to do well with very young players. He would be a great coach to lead the charge for the next young generation of players.
Dinamo can definitely beat any of the other teams that have played in the CL Qualifiers so far. Of course, they’d have more success in the Europa League. But it’d be fun to see them play with the biggest clubs in the world. Plus, if they don’t advance and finish 3rd in their table, they can still play in the Europa League Knockouts.
Also, why start Gavranovic over Petković?
I know it’s big money for Dinamo
But is selling livakovic there a good move for the repka?
Maybe another run this year and get a few more bucks
I believe he can improve still
Well I would love to see Dinamo knock off a few big name clubs. I personally think with Dinamo’s bank roll and club size, they are out matched in the Champions league. I would rather them better last years achievement with a round of 8 or 1/4 final appearance in Europa.
“This is a strong Dinamo side they can pull of some surprises in CL and if it’s Europa league they will be dangerous. ”
I agree, this is the strongest Dinamo side i have seen for a while, and they finally have a quality coach, and some depth. They can make it far in Europa, but i would rather see them compete against the big boys in the Champions League.
Montpellier deal for Livaković has apparently fallen through. Was supposedly to break their transfer record at 9.5m. I say good. Hold onto him. I have faith he will shine in the rest of our Euro qualifiers. This is a strong Dinamo side they can pull of some surprises in CL and if it’s Europa league they will be dangerous. Strong performances for the repka and in European competition will bring in a better offer from a bigger club. He doesn’t need a lousy pit stop in France
Is Orsic a viable option for us at some point?
