After the controversy of last week’s events in Athens, the Dinamo/AEK opening leg was played at the Maksimir in Zagreb Tuesday night instead of in Greece. Dinamo played excellent in the 1st half half piling on tons of pressure against the Greek champions. That pressure culminated into a Dinamo lead from an impressive Bulat free kick. Despite Dinamo controlling the momentum in the 1st half, AEK came out after the break ready to compete. Swiss international, Steven Zuber, opened the scoring for AEK after weaving through the Dinamo defense. This goal swung the balance in favor of AEK and allowed them to pressure Dinamo. In the 90th minute, AEK netted the winner from substitute Konstantinos Galanopoulos. Dinamo will travel to Athens Saturday to make up the match from last Tuesday. Dinamo is Croatia’s only shot at a CL berth this season. A trip to Athens will be no small feat for Dinamo but it is still a winnable game. If Dinamo do not progress, they will enter the last round of qualifying for Europa League.
Gvardiol is a left back.
We have stud CB’s.
Kovačić getting that meaningful PK in!!
Gvardiol exposed.
In all fairness both he and Ake were responsible for the goal. A defender has to call it, take ownership and win the ball, it looked like neither of them claimed it and Neysiri jumped in between. Ake jumped and missed it and Gvardiol was expecting Ake to have it is how it looked.
To me it looked like Gvardiol called Ake off before the ball was crossed because there was another player making a run nd then he just got out jumped. But the forward is massive

People are getting restless in Zagreb with Biscan. I can’t say I disagree. He wasn’t impressive with the U 21’s and he’s had a difficult start with Dinamo. He’s probably on a short leash.
Perhaps some of the rumoured / desired transfers will not go through as the result of the poor start?
However, I think that many of the remaining Biŝćan supporters will abandon him if things don’t turn around quickly.
Be cool if Niko makes a nice little collection of 🇭🇷 players to play together
Always wondered why HNS don’t invest to purchase 51% of a Bundesliga Team:
Use it as a stepping stone to graduate players from HNL clubs
Play them together and with a flow of games/ minutes at a Higher level
Benefit National Team
Benefit Bochum too. Likely to exceed season expectations with this kontinuitet
Bochum valued at €47.75 €milliion so HNS need only approx €24 million. Would do wonders.
A Fraction of stadium cost too.
Kinda of like RB Salzburg idea to RB Leipzig.
I’ve heard worse
I always say I wish our guys would play more together
Like a Barca mid 2000s
Can’t tell me that didn’t help Spain a lot
And it wouldn’t be in Croatia
So it makes sense like grabbing a lower end bundesliga team
They would most likely be able to turn a tidy profit from hopefully making deeper CL runs
Especially a high Diaspora population area….lots of good attendance
In kinda of Dinamo news, Lovro Majer has left Rennes and is on his way to Wolfsburg
This could be a good move for Majer. Things seem to be a bit stagnant for him at Rennes.
Majer doesn’t seem like a Niko Kovač type of player.
He’s more Brekalo than he is Rebić.
Kovač seems to value pace and hard work, over technical skill.

Are you serious with this comment?
Yeah man Actually analyze it
The Economic Value of future profits
Potential Benefits,
Costs
It would be almost impossible to pull off. Actually it would be impossible. What makes you think you could convince national team players to agree to that? Salary issues? Local support? I am sure Germans dont want a club made up of out of country ownership and no local or homegrown players.
Salute to our Roma, Kyiv and Sporting brothers.

Vida gets the highest player rating in today’s game.
Sutalo sold before second leg ?
yeah, the tale of two halves is one way of looking at it but in my opinion, Dinamo did not win enough man to man battles and AEK was just more determined to stay in the game. Good things happen when you keep fighting like AEK did.
on another note, Livakovic was great again, even with his ball control!
After what took place last week with the BBB, maybe this is a just result.
Come on.
AEK deserves to lose this tie based off their gutless actions, soliciting UEFA for banning Dinamo after they killed their own fan.
Davir,
I don’t understand the thinking: the BBB were likely using most of their disposable income, and taking time away from work / family, to drive down ( in a drunken state it appears) to Greece- in order to fight with a gang with a history of using weapons and committing murder ???
Those people are lost souls who need some spiritual guidance / attention from a mental health specialist / help from an addictions counselor.
Many of them will be charged and convicted of crimes, and if you were to say they deserve punishment, I would not even respond to your post.
However, it is also difficult for me to understand how the event (tragic as it is), has anything to do with Dinamo Zagreb, and why they should suffer for it?
*Davor
Match of two halves with Dinamo dominating the first half and unlucky not to be leading by more than one goal. Second half it was pretty much all AEK. Livakovic made some great saves in the second half otherwise it could have been worse.
In the second half Dinamo completely lost shape, ran out of puff and had no midfield with Misic having a poor match and was the main culprit for AEK’s equaliser. Dinamo has better individuals than AEK, however AEK is better as a collective and Dinamo will need a miracle in Athens.
Damn I didn’t see the second half
That sucks
Well as GG says below
They still in it
Unfortunately they had a couple good looks in the first half including one right at the end of it that probably would have changed the outlook
Was Liva at fault?
No- Liva actually kept them in the match…should have been worse
Just result in the end – AEK really dominated 2nd half. Dinamo stil in striking distance for 2nd leg
Šuplja obrana sinko.
Dinamo looking good
Sutalo had a little slow kind of run carrying the ball up field
He made a couple guys look silly
He moves sort of surprisingly effective for a tall lanky type
Again I’m calling for him and stanisic to really break out this season and start to push for next level
We have talked about this enough. But I can’t remember for how many years we had such a promising back line
Maybe only the 90s?
Bulat more like bullet am I right boys??
Bulat… sign him up
Where’s baturina?
Weird hearing vida on the other side
Lay an egg vida ajmo!
