Lots going on in Greece ahead of Dinamo’s Champions League 3rd Round qualifying 1st leg match against AEK Athens Tuesday night. It has been reported by Sportske Novosti that 200 Dinamo fans (BBB) travelled to Athens for the match against a travel ban put in place by UEFA. There was reported fighting between the BBB and AEK fans where a 22 year-old Greek lost his life Monday night.
On the football side of things, Dinamo will take a slow start to the HNL season — only taking four points from their first three matches — into a tough CL qualifier against Greek champions, AEK Athens. Dinamo will look to Petković and Ivanušec for goals as they have only scored four times in 3 HNL matches this season. However, goals did reign down against Astana in the previous qualifying round as Dinamo won 6-0 across two legs. AEK will be an entirely different test, but not impossible to get a favorable result if Dinamo can control tempo on enemy soil. Dinamo are already guaranteed Europe this season where Conference League would be the worst spot they could land. However, we all know winning two more ties will see them back to the promised land with tons of cash coming their way in CL group stage.
Prediction: 1-1
Looking like Greek police and AEK may have hoped for some sort of confrontation, perhaps to make an example of hooligans. Compare that with French officials who deployed 110,000 police officers and 44,000 firefighters on the night of the 2018 WC final, knowing the character of a large portion of the France fans.
Not us cros ..they must be generalizing us with fellow slave Macedonians who have deep political divisions with the Greeks from past history.A macedonian bud I’ve mine told me once..if you shake a Greeks hand..count your fingers.
We’re not Americans, we know the nations. That’s funny, your “macedonian” bud telling thief jokes while they’re the ones stealing history. Good one.
This eastern schismatic Greek is correct, they’re a disgrace the eastern schismatic North Macedonians, and if I was a Croat I would never trust an eastern schismatic North Macedonian. They’re such a little pest these eastern schismatic North Macedonians, and this to the people that made them eastern schismatic and gave them a new religion. If these eastern schismatic North Macedonians can be such a nuisance to their Greek brothers there’s nothing they wouldn’t do to you.
I’m telling ya if you shake an eastern schismatic North Macedonian’s hand, you should immediately know that he’s up to no good, don’t believe me? Just ask one of the little fellas “kako pamtite Tita?” they’ll avoid answering it just like Z, because they’re both up to no good.
Now I don’t want to hear anymore talk of eastern schismatic Greeks & eastern schismatic North Macedonians on a Croatian sports site, and if I do, you guys will regret it, because I’ll come back and ask everyone individually, starting with Slavonac from Canada, “kako pamtite Tita?”
I don’t want to rock your boat, but if you give me no choice, I will do it.
In 2021 they were 89 murders in Greece. I am unable to find 2022 numbers. What makes the death of this one Greek fan such a media frenzy? Could it be that the Greeks have some sort of ethnic animosity towards us and even though the killer was a fellow Greek, their first instinct was to blame us and call us neo-Nazis. Maybe it was just the general leftist animosity towards any kind of native European acts of masculinity. Those who criticize the ultras the ones who prefer a safe, quiet life. However, some of us seek a higher adventure
You don’t know who the killer is. Maybe he’s a Croat, maybe he’s Greek, maybe he’s Albanian. Nothing official yet.
What makes this a media frenzy, is the Police not doing their job. Like if you know there’s a danger coming and you do nothing then wtf is Police for? I guess it’s only there to fight innocent civilians when they peacefully protest about some stupid sh*t our government does. Like this thing right here. That someone got killed was just the cherry on top. You get it?
Our boys sit bleeding out in a Turkish prison and some of you are worried about our tourism industry and coefficients. Unbelievable!
Not our boys, Bad Blue Boys. If they are so bad, then let them rot. To hell with them. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
StuG, you make a very good point.
Hey ” kako pamtite tita”?
Hey Z did you ever answer that question?
I believe it’s a fun question that some would have no problem answering, and some would see it as rockong the boat. Which ones do you think don’t like rocking the boat, and are those that don’t like rocking the boat your boys?
Did you think StuG made a good point?
It sounds like this is a very corrupt and complicated situation…. Looks like a lot of different kinds of B.S. all over the place.
I don’t know what the hell happened. Hopefully everything gets resolved.
Fighting over football and being a hooligan is very stupid and dangerous and has no place anywhere and has nothing to do with the sport!!!
All I’m saying is teams and fans shouldn’t be associated or held accountable for the actions of small groups of troublemakers Who do not represent the sport the team or the fans. In football teams are held unfairly accountable for “fans/hooligans” actions by the organizations like fifa/uefa who penalize the team/players. The individuals who are responsible need to be held responsible. Not the team-not the fans-Not everyone. This goes for all types of stupid nonsense where there are many examples of unfair penalties etc and it needs to be changed. It’s always sad when trash ruin the fun for everyone.
I would ban entry to any known hooligans. BBB, Torcida, Armada. They never will because that is where they make their money.
I don’t think anybody makes money off of hooligan ticket sales.
Teams are probably at a net negative overall when you factor in the fines they pay.
thats a fair point
Question for you. How do you define a hooligan? And what is the reasoning they would be banned without a rights violation? If these clowns have no criminal record, how can you ban them?
StuG is the kind of guy that you call a seljak and he ends up being proud of it.
AEK are witholding evidence from the police and are refusing to share stadium video footage capturing what happened.
https://www.index.hr/mobile/sport/clanak/grci-kriju-kljucnu-snimku-sa-stadiona-aeka-ona-potvrdjuje-pricu-boysa/2486408.aspx?index_ref=naslovnica_sport_prva_m
I told you these guys are pieces of $hiit.
Slavonac Won’t be happy after he threw our boys under the bus. Sramota.
I’m never interested in our people committing violence, burning, destroying properties…in Croatia or in another country. Of course I’m glad to know BBB didn’t kill that guy, makes me feel a little better but overall, I’m pissed off they went there and created this scene and now the perception of Dinamo and Croatia looks bad.
We are a small soccer nation. The entire focus this year has been for us to get 4 teams into Europe. I’d rather the media write about our small gem of a country in a positive way rather than to label us as hooligans, criminals, Nazi’s…just because 200 dummies decided to disregard UEFA’s ban on away fans. This entire shit show should never have happened and this is my point of view.
AEK hiding proof that there actually were no innocent civilians (contrary to what was originally reported) and that it was an organized brawl with AEK hooligans bringing all the weapons (with the police doing nothing and even blocking firefighters and ambulances from getting to the scene).
Several BBB members are currently in prison with stab wounds and no access to a doctor. They’ve been in prison for three days without a lawyer or consular services.
I expected AEK to act like animals and I knew they would hide evidence and obstruct.
I was worried about the Greek police being corrupt as well. I don’t like what I’m seeing here so far on that front. Hopefully the cops do their job.
AEK are trying to avoid fines and another multiyear UEFA ban.
Regardless they should not have gone to greece to start shit. They still went there with the idea of fighting because they’re idiots. Put them all in prison. This isnt an us vs them, this is a BBB did something stupid and then apparently the greeks did something even more stupid. More stupid doesnt exonerate stupid.
Going to Greece to start shit doesn’t justify a blanket murder charge against them, when the person that was murdered was a part of the group that likely brought the murder weapon.
I still believe in human rights (no matter how low they may sink) and these particular BBB members should be charged with travel bans and stadium bans in addition to any property destruction and/or assault charges they may be guilty of. But first and foremost, they need access to their lawyer, consular services, and medical services (all which have been denied by an apparent EU country).
You don’t just hand them over to a bunch of criminals (AEK and potentially the corrupt Greek police who seem to be trying to cover their mistakes) simply because you are embarrassed.
You need to care less about what people think, and focus more on ensuring justice is served and people’s rights aren’t trampled on. Someday you may need someone to fight and support yours one day.
this is spot on- ensure medical attention first+ fair judgment for any crime after the first is secured
I didnt mean put them all in prison for murder. But at what point do you stop being an accessory to murder? In the states if you driver the car to robbery and someone dies you can be charged with murder. Obviously two different scenarios but again at what point do you draw the line? Yes, they should get a sentence that fits their crime.
Im not worried about these guys, they don’t embarrass me. Only the Fascist/Nazi Croatians do.
Where did you read all that?
The was no organized brawl. This whole thing happened outside the stadium, it’s a neighborhood, normal people live there. There’s shops, people drinking coffee. We have hooligans as well, they organize brawls somewhere isolated from the public. You think it was an organized brawl and AEK hooligans would be outnumbered in their own country/city? Is that logical? Use your head.
Your BBB are treated well, only one’s in hospital I think. They have lawyers. And even if the Police wanted to mistreat them, they are in a sh*tstorm right now that they couldn’t afford any more mistakes.
People don’t have anything against Croats, we are angry with the Police, because all this could have been easily avoided.
Stop. The killer might be Greek and likely is. But the BBB didn’t go there to plant flowers. Lock them up and dont let them back into Croatia.
What world do you live in? BBB were defending their honor and country. You think the police will protect you when the shit hits the fan? Remember our Ultras who answered the call.
yes… they traveled to greece to protect croatia in a street fight… lol what world do you live in? You’re the type of guy that says he would go to war and then you would pee your pants
Davor is right.
You were right Maminjo!
With that said, I still think BBB have a responsibility in all this. They shouldn’t have gone.
Reports now saying 7 BBB were stabbed, 2 of them were hit with flares and the hospitals are refusing to tend to the injured.
Fucking barbarians!
I think BBB went there to fight with their fists, and the AEK fans showed up with knives.
BBB played a stupid game and can only blame themselves for the mess they are in (which could end up being political if the Greek police continue to be under fire from the Greek media, which is never good).
Croatian hooligans are thugs and brawlers, but they almost never knife people and throw molotov cocktails. This is a common occurrence with Greek hooligans who regularly kill people. This is why I knew we had to wait for more info.
I’m not surprised that AEK is hiding the video footage.
Apparently the police are also dumping some of the evidence as well (not confirmed yet).
Those BBB deserve this wake-up call (maybe it turns some of their lives around)…but I don’t want any of them to die or become a scapegoat (receiving a life sentence) if they never actually killed anybody.
“Those BBB deserve this wake-up call (maybe it turns some of their lives around)…but I don’t want any of them to die or become a scapegoat (receiving a life sentence) if they never actually killed anybody.”
Of course I don’t want anyone to die or become a scapegoat either but I can’t understand why that many of them decided to go there for a fight? I mean, imagine organizing 200 of your friends, going on a 15 hour drive to go and fight a bunch or dirty and greasy thugs? How does any of this make sense?
So let’s retract our earlier suggestions that a BBB did kill the 29 year old and just say they went there for a fight. How the hell does anyone justify that? 200 BBB, crossing several countries to go and fight a bunch of greasy Greeks? For what?
Do they deserve life time sentences? NO…but for the love of God, how stupid does one have to be in life to drive 1500 damn kilometres just to have a fight? Can’t they find some migrants in ZG to beat on (I’m kidding)?
This is the stupidest part of the entire equation. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong. Now there’s tons of guys in jail, 7 guys with knife wounds, stuck in some jail with gypsies and Pakistani homosexuals…no medical attention and probably getting infections because of their open wounds. You can just as well get stabbed in ZG, why the hell drive to Greece for that?
Maybe they went for the tzaziki, and stayed for the fight.
Great commentary by Davorin Karacic the BBB lawyer. This is a moment where this website can do some good instead of posting comments by the pizdarija who have abandoned our boys. You should organize a fund raiser
for their legal costs.
More information is coming out.
The biggest piece will be who exactly did it. Apparently there is DNA on the victim so they’ll test that.
Also, the victims friend says they were just there for the game…but we’ll see if they were there for the organized fight or not. It changes things if they were involved in the fight.
Very messed up that Greek police did absolutely nothing. What’s worse, is that they actually prevented ambulances and firefighters from entering the scene. The victim’s friends had to get a private ambulance to take him to the hospital, but he bled out. This complicates things now.
Seeing a blanket murder charge being handed out to 100 people is also worrisome.
I really hope Greek police don’t try to corrupt things in an attempt to cover their own asses for ignoring all the intel provided by Croatia and Montenegro.
They’re getting a lot of flak in the Greek media.
Blaming Nazis from Croatia is the easy out.
Panathinaikos invited BBB and even housed many of them in their clubhouse (despite all those laws put in place to crack down on Greek hooliganism). If the murderer is a Greek, it kills that easy out path for the police.
Letter from Dinamo Zagreb to the public
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
PRESS RELEASE OF GNK DINAMO
In this way, GNK Dinamo wants to react to several performances of the football club AEK related to the tragedy that happened on August 7 of this year.
GNK Dinamo repeatedly clearly, unequivocally, publicly and fiercely condemned the riots, which, unfortunately, resulted in deaths. Violence has no place in a civilized society and we will always fight for the true values promoted by our club, and we sincerely want to believe that our rival AEK shares similar views.
We are sorry that AEK is running away from responsibility with its statements and behavior, raising tensions and using inappropriate, aggressive and inciting language in official announcements with the aim of putting pressure on UEFA. It is especially incomprehensible that he tries to use a human tragedy without any hesitation for his own promotion and the result shows the absence of elementary decency, empathy and reverence for the victim. We consider such an approach inappropriate, especially because it is clear to everyone, except for the representatives of AEK, that GNK Dinamo did everything in its power to prevent this situation from happening. For all events in Greece, the organizers bear the greatest responsibility, that is, the Greek police and AEK as the host club.
We want to clearly emphasize that the responsible persons in the club made themselves available to the representatives of AEK, UEFA and the police in order to shed light on the entire event and return the atmosphere to sports. All the time, we maintained active communication with all involved parties except AEK. From the very beginning, representatives of the Greek club obstructed any attempt to cooperate, to seek the best solution. Demonstratively, they left the organizational meeting on the day of the match, canceled the official lunch of the two delegations, refused any kind of communication and by this behavior assigned themselves the role of investigator, prosecutor and judge. We consider such a procedure to be, at the very least, an absurd and dangerous playing with emotions at such a delicate moment.
We strongly condemn this type of communication from our sports rivals from Athens, especially while the investigation is still ongoing and we learn new information about the unpleasant event from day to day. We emphasize that until this moment it has not been determined whether the perpetrator of this terrible crime is a Croatian or a Greek citizen. We will not give anyone the right to play with the name Dinamo in such a monstrous way! Our club cherishes the principles of respect and healthy communication with our European opponents. Today we encounter everything that is not worthy of the behavior of a European club.
We invite AEK representatives to devote themselves to football and calming tensions, leaving the role of investigator and referee to the competent institutions.
We believe that our club has been one of the cornerstones of Croatian football for years, playing European competitions continuously, contributing to the strengthening of the national coefficient and providing a strong contribution to the successes of the Croatian national football team. We believe that the Croatian Football Association, as our umbrella organization, will be actively involved in this issue and protect the interests of Croatian football.
Once again, we need to remind the public of the steps taken by the club ahead of the visit to Athens with the aim of preventing possible violence and disorder.
On Thursday 3 August, the club received a notice from UEFA banning away fans from UEFA Champions League 3rd qualifying round matches. On the same day, the club informed fans and the public on all its channels that there will be no ticket sales for the match in Athens. Also the same news was sent to all the main Croatian media that reported UEFA’s decision.
On the next day, August 4, GNK Dinamo sent a written notice to the Directorate of Police, in which the Directorate was informed about the time of departure and return, flight numbers, place of accommodation and possible departure of fans.
In the same letter, it was emphasized: “Depending on the number of fans gathered, the possibility of conflict with other fan groups that will be in Athens at that time cannot be ruled out.”
On the same day, the club drew up a document in which we covered all the issues related to the possible arrival of our fans that we expected in Greece. The questions were sent to the representatives of AEK, but we did not receive an answer from the Greek club. The query was also sent to UEFA, which replied that it was important for AEK to answer the questions raised.
GNK Dinamo

In my opinion, this settles any responsibility by Dinamo. They did their part and AEK didn’t give two shits!
Now the rest is up to an investigation on what those BBB actually did.
Dinamo is not to blame; they did everything by the book.
However, if you read the latest media statement from HNS in SN, Dinamo from now on is skating on thin ice. BBB are associated with Dinamo and according to HNS any trouble from Dinamo’s fans in the future will lead to drastic punishment from UEFA including the possibility of expulsion from UEFA competitions.
Whatever..look what the girks..did when cro played them in basketball..qualifying..a cro lost his fingers infront of his son..firecracker thrown by a girk..ya see..animals..Us cros are nice ..till it comes to push shove..The media is a haven of deception..ma ubi mi
Bravo! The Malakas are a Cetnik country. No offense to the Astoria Croats we married into them. Free our BBB boys!
Information has gone stagnant. The facts we do know are this:
1)Dinamo notified police in Greece 200 BBB were going to Athens
2) ZG police notified police in
Greece 200 BBB were going to Athens
3) Montenegrin border contacted Greek police and gave license plates to Greek police
This doesn’t exonerate BBB for being idiots like all fanboy organizations but it does lay some responsibility with the police in Athens!
Here’s something else that’s been circulating social media. The AEK fanboy organization and BBB were definitely organizing a place to fight. How the hell would BBB know exactly where to go to find these guys? Panathinaikos fanboys also joined with BBB, trying to help them fight with AEK fanboys….this is where things get interesting.
Who stabbed and murdered the 29 year old (I previously read he was 22) might only be relevant for a court case, imprisonment and that stuff but in my opinion, BBB deserve jail time for an organized fight, disturbing a public area, vandalizing and purposely arranging a trip in order to cause massive disruption and disturbance.
If these fucks wanted a fight, they could have met at a park and gone wild…with no innocent people getting injured but no, they want the spotlight and they need to pay for this.
I’ve argued with tons of people about BBB and Torcida. If you’re a player and love the game then you love the game in its totality which includes fans but not hooligans..and that’s exactly what those bastards are. They meet on the highway, in town squares, outside and inside stadiums…start fires, tear seats and use them like frisbees, they use rocks, knives, damage cars….all just a bunch of ducking retards and I stand by my words!
Love the game, appreciate the sport, respect your opponent and the better team wins. Never pretend like a hooligans is a fan…you categorize yourself as a fool!
Slavonac spot on with your comments.
Thanks Mart!!
Slavonac sums it up perfectly. Too bad other morons will call you a traitor but not in baka’s eyes sinko.
Thanks baka 🤣
A good makednac buddy of mine said…if you shake a Greeks hand ..count your fingers after..crooks.They are lying ..that a cro stabeb a bum jamming girl.. pure lies..
“ Those 200 BBB fans who went to Greece need to be accountable if they did something wrong…..”
What country do you live in? 100 foreign thugs rampaging through your streets wielding bats & molitovs doesn’t constitute something wrong to you?
It’s called ZDS lifestyle on Holiday.
One thing for sure Torcida is going to have to kick it up a notch after this. They don’t want BBB grabbing all the headlines. Think big.
Besides the ultras, the greek police have a lot of blame for the chaos. On August 4th, Dinamo warned the authorities that there may be “fans” going to greece, despite the fact they were told not to. Croatian police informed interpol, and greek authorities. The boarder police in Crna Gora also called the greeks to warn them of over 20 vehicles, with approx 120 hrvati heading to Athens. They were given the license plate numbers, the route, etc. The greek police did absolutely nothing.
Who ever did this represents only one person…themself!!! If they were wearing an adidas hat or speedo underwear’s does that mean that everyone at corporate headquarters and everyone that works for those companies or wears this merchandise is held responsible and is stained or shamed and charged with a crime or fined??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Whoever did whatever should be held accountable for their actions…that’s it no one else. People need to stop acting like this clown represents anybody other than himself.
That’s it. If someone commits a crime wearing a L.A. hat does that mean the Dodgers aren’t allowed to be in the playoffs?? Other Dodger fans should be arrested? That logic is soooo backwards. No one is responsible for this except the person that did it. THATS IT!!!
Soccer is the only sport that perpetuates this flawed logic. Teams are responsible for “fans” actions? “fans” are responsible for other criminals/hooligans actions????
Uhhhhhhhhhhh what? Makes NO SENSE!!
IF a warriors fan spills nacho on the lakers fan and they fight and the guy punches the warriors fan out that means lakers are fined and they start the next game no fans and the score at the beginning is 10-0 warriors? Right… ?????
If someone killed someone they are responsible for their actions.. that has nothing to do with soccer or anyone except the fool that killed another person. No association is there for anyone else.
I can’t believe some people group everything together like this. Like the National Team was representing this?? Croatia is damaged?
No one else is damaged!!!
Please separate countries/teams/sports/fans from the actions of some other crazy person. Stop feeling ashamed?? Unless this was your son! Not only that…no one even knows what the hell happened yet to determine anything yet is ridiculous!
Unbelievable!!
nah its a little different. This stuff doesn’t really relate to US sports fans. BBB are Ultras, these people went in the name of the BBB, the BBB are the official fan group on Dinamo. Its not just one crazy person it was about 120 people that went down there to cause pizdarije.
Agreed 👍
That is a very fair point Cromagnum Man. I agree with your point, but from the sound of it here these events appear to be more than what your suggesting. Almost as if they were premeditated amongst fans. So people are suggesting that it was BBB, and Panthiakos that set the grounds for a fight, I believe…
If that’s the case then your point may not have a leg to stand on here. In other words more people may be culpable in this event which is why they may be holding the investigation
But in general, where things are less wide scale, were a fight happen to ensue out of the blue for example, then yes people should be held individually accountable. The many shouldn’t be held accountable by the few if that’s what you mean.
The death was a tragedy, but the killer could be a Hrvat, a Greek, a cigan, they don’t know yet. That being said…these guys had no reason to go all the way to Greece just to cause trouble. I don’t think we should be defending them because in the end, even if there was no death, the chaos and destruction was totally unnecessary, and an embarrassment to our nation. Also, they have now provoked retaliation to Zagreb. That would not be good for our citizens, and for our reputation as a safe tourist destination.
If they come to Zagreb looking for retaliation then so be it. Here we stand. You’re worried about tourism? Why does your Dido rent out his flats?
Probably because thats how Croatia makes most of their money you imbecile. StuG do you pride yourself in posting idiotic statements?
Do you have anything intelligent to say, or are you just here to criticize everyone’s comment?
I support our boys. Do you need me to proof read your apology letter to the Greek Reporter?
Our boys? those imbecile dont represent Croatia lol. They represent their own interest which apparently is they support a different team than me so lets fight… so dumb.
honest question, was the guy that died an ultras too? If so, and he was there figthing and doing all this then in my eyes its just play stupid games win stupid prizes.
If it was an innocent civilian, then the killer deserves that life sentence per Greek law.
But we need to know the facts.
AEK is a bigtime CIGAN club with an even worse fan group.
They’ll exploit the death of that Greek national for whatever they can. They’ve already started doing so (which is disgusting).
They’re the reason why Greece passed that hooligan law (which carries a life sentence) and they’ve been banned from competitions in the past for what they do. Attempted murder is pretty standard with these guys.
I’m not going to guess what happened, but considering what this group has been responsible for in the past, I’m not the least bit surprised that this happened.
Those 200 BBB fans who went to Greece need to be accountable if they did something wrong, but we need to know exactly what they did before we call for their blood (which is exactly the opposite of what AEK want, and they’ve been pressuring UEFA to do something immediately before Greek police come out with the facts).
Surprised to see everyone here turning on their own so quickly.
Wait until more information comes out.
AEK is taking advantage of the emotion and trying to get Dinamo banned quickly before more information comes out, and little girls like you are eating it all up.
A death is a tragedy but wait until the Greek police (and not their extremist pro-Communist AEK fanbase) come out with the details first.
What info do we need?? OK we don’t know who the killer is??
It is crystal clear from the TV footage, that more than a hundred BBBoys went to Athens to fight. BBB knew that they were banned from attending the match as informed by Dinamo, UEFA and the media, yet they still went. AEK fans are also to blame as it appears that the confrontation was pre-arranged on social media. Also, Greek police should have been more proactive.
However, the fact remains that BBB went to Athens looking for a physical confrontation which has resulted in a death, serious damage to Dinamo and Croatia as a country.
All those photos of BBB with handcuffs and covered faces. I can never understand why the police allow these hooligans to cover their faces.
They think that they are brave fighters but in reality, they are nothing but gutless bullies too ashamed to show their faces.
You’re not a gutless bully when you travel to a foreign country especially a Cetnik one to fight. However guys like you will never understand.
This is the stupidest comment yet. That is the exact definition of someone who is gutless, StuG….
First of all fighting does no good for the sport, people already have a bad view of soccer (European football) as a sport… Fighting just adds another layer of stupidity to it. I don’t know every Ultra fan person, so I guess this comment cannot speak to everyone of those individual. But for those who seek to fight, they should be banned and blacklisted regardless of what club their from and from what country period. Unfortunately, there is no other way to stop the violence.
I don’t know, as none of us do what transpired here. Some the comments made suggest that it may have been organized and perpetrated by Greek fans… But I think individual countries and UEFA have to push more to ensure these things are dealt with in am efficient manner. I don’t know that they ever will do this, however, because these same individuals funnel wealth into the sport. But it ridiculous nonetheless that these things happen and are allowed to happen when you have previous information to suggest that it may transpire even before the events occur.
Fighting in sports, with exception of UFC, should not happen. Just my thought.
Scratch you off as a guy to count on in a bar fight. Here hold my Cevapi
You are an idiot, you sound like a democratic politician blaming crime on everybody but the perpetrators.
Not sure if StuG and Stug is an Idiot are the same person but her EIS my response for what it’s worth.
Yet another individual using strong language to validate a point…
I am not an idiot I just prefer to use my ability reason and to try hold the least amount of bias in my opinion as possible. Not sure if it is possible but it’s worth striving for.
I wasn’t blaming anyone. I didn’t say a Croat or Greek did it, and quite frankly none of us have any evidence to support any claim here. If you actually read the comment you would see that but this is what happens when you let your passions take over your ability to reason. People tend to turn ugly and start using their fists instead of talking it through and using their minds. It’s unfortunate, but I prefer to hold my fellow Croatian’s with esteem and actually do believe that if they put their passions in the right place that they are capable much more. Case in point, Modric is.a fine exemplar of this behaviour.
I am actually the farthest thing from left wing, I just happen to believe in the course of law some other individuals, it seems, do don’t.
The question on response would be why are you in a bar fight in the first place?? And why the hell do you need someone to hold your cevapi for you when the plate on the table can do that for you???😉
while none of this is good of course no matter what-
yes, the identity of the killer is very important…street fights are one thing, murder is a diff ballgame
What other information do you need? Do you really need to ask this?
We don’t know what happened at all. Even the headline of this article is wrong (as it was a 29 year old that was killed), which is proof that we know very little. Here’s some important information that we need to know…
1. The identity of the killer and what he was doing there
2. Who the victim was and what he was doing there
3. Was it planned
4. Was it self defense
There were Panathinaikos fans that were there, and they are big allies to Dinamo. They likely were involved.
There were also apparently some Serbs and Albanians there too. We don’t know the details yet, so we have to wait.
The swirling rumor is that a Panathinaikos fan killed an AEK fan.
If this turns out to be true, Does that context not change everything for you?
Or are you just a cowardly bootlicker who is willing to support handing out life sentences to your fellow Croats (who may be guilty of being agitators but are definitely not worth being thrown into prison for murder because they are protesting against UEFA’s directive).
You must’ve been a treat during COVID, probably calling for the unvaxxed to be killed.
Bruh some of these guys are Full Kit Wanker types but when any sign of trouble appears they will turn to you and quickly take their jersey off. These are the ones that got smacked around after Euro 08 in the streets.
Bleh. My comments are getting moderated again.
I assure you that I’m not moderating your posts.
It’s unfortunate happens to me too Maminjo.
Surprised to see everyone here turning on their own so quickly.
Wait until more information comes out.
AEK is taking advantage of the emotion and trying to get Dinamo banned quickly before more information comes out, and idiots like you are eating it all up.
A death is a tragedy but wait until the Greek police (and not their extremist pro-Communist AEK fanbase) come out with the details first.
Dont believe everything you read. It was Greek on Greek.
Disappointing and incredibly sad
AEK fans will want revenge for this and there is no doubt that many of their hard-core fans will come to Zagreb next Tuesday looking for trouble despite the fact that away fans have been banned by UEFA from attending the matches. The ban will not stop them, just like it did not stop the BBBoys from travelling to Athens.
I’m also worried that there might be trouble in Split when Hajduk plays PAOK on Thursday. UEFA has also banned fans from attending away matches between the two clubs. I just hope that Police will be out in numbers in Split and Zagreb to deal with the hooligans promptly before things get out of control. Ideally, they should be stopped at the border before entering Croatia.
Embarrassing. A lot of good the past few years from our NT competing in finals and semis, to clubs getting decent results in European competitions, to building a new arena in Osijek, all wiped away and for what. This is the reason why UEFA and FIFA has never, and will never take us seriously. It’s 3rd world garbage and would not be surprised if Dinamo is banned from Europe not only this year, but for years to come. Our only hope is that a Slovenian that has buddies in the region is in charge. They look for the slightest incident to make an example out of us and we keep giving them reasons to. Is it fair? No. But the shit has to stop. And no, I don’t have a solution, but how about starting by not being a low life douchebag.
I always had a theory, that urban living provides people the license to act inhumanely, due to the perceived lack of accountability. Since Zagreb has 700,000, and Split has 150,000, so I would guess as much, from my theory.
When Croatia played a friendly in LA, and they beat Mexico, accordingly and predictably, the Mexican fans started throwing their drinks at the Croatian fans.
I have never been a huge fan of large homo sapien collectives, but I do like individuals one-on-one, where they prove themselves to be of goodwill.
hajduk fans would never do this, shame to dinamo
No, they’d rather sabotage their entire country because they feel Hajduk had been mistreated!
What a fucking idiot you are!
You really come across as a Stella Artois drinking pametnjakovic.
I am not a hajduk fan, but being in Croatia earlier this year and seeing how their club does everything to promote unity it makes me want to root for them. I just read they are close to having 100,000 paying fans. I don’t think you would ever see this with their fans.
Just catching up now. This is horrific.
It’s a stain on our league, it’s a stain for the National Team, and its a stain on the nation itself.
Something has to be done. It embarrasses us and quite frankly everyone.
Appalling.
Horrible. That being said, word on the street is a Greek is the murder suspect – not Croatian
Yes beware of the Greek
Roseanne Roseannadanna: Ops!, please forget what I just said, BBBs are not to blame.
Glad to hear that a Croatians were not involved. A tragedy just the same.
U Boj!
Sramota. Unbelievable. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dinamo gets kicked out of the competition.
Unconscionable tragedy…..heaven forbid!
Only way you teach a lesson and to avoid this type of idiocy is to throw clubs out of Europe for the actions of their fans. That may be too harsh, but if the clubs really want to clean up they would find a way to do something. Since that won’t happen, this will be not be remembered after a few months.
SN reported that the guys mom suffered a heart attack after hearing the news of her son’s death. Horrible
Greece takes hooliganism very seriously. Last month, seven hooligans were imprisoned for life over the death of a rival fan.
First leg will be in Zagreb on the 15th. Return leg in Athens on the 19th.
Tragic that someone got killed. Hope they find the culprit and deal with him appropriately. The courts in my opinion are too lenient with these hooligans.
Large number have been arrested in Athens. They all should be named and shamed in the media; however, we all know that this will not happen in Croatia.
We all remember the ugly scenes in Milan and at EURO in France when a group of so-called Croatian fans caused major disturbances. They were arrested and deported to Croatia. The authorities knew their names, yet it was all kept a secret. Apparently, it is against the law in Croatia to name these people publicly.
Crazy law which needs to be changed, they all should be named and banned from attending soccer matches for life.
Game’s canceled
This murder that happened in Greece really turns my emotions about these fanboy clubs like BBB and the rest of them…I’ve never understood who would ever want to join a fanboy club and what exactly is soo awesome about fighting in the streets and throwing flares? It just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Apparently one of the BBB knifed a 22 year old kid and this completely mind fucks me. There is a travel ban for this game, why drive to Greece, walk the tram stations and street’s looking for problems. Someone please explain this to me…why would anyone care to be a part of that? They aren’t important to the game if you ask me…they’re the black eye of the sport!
Woah, I just read it
they’re idiots?
nice meme deli
