Dinamo Zagreb masterfully took down the champions of Luxembourg, Fola Esch, but not before a slow start in the first 45 minutes.
The five-goal frenzy started when El Arbi Hillel Soudani broke Dinamo’s 55-minute goal drought.
The Modri had trouble figuring out how to beat the 10-man defense of Fola Esch in the first half. With a dominant amount of possession, Dinamo was unable to get anything going until the 44th minute when Arijen Ademi struck the ball on goal after a corner kick, but was stopped by Fola keeper, Thomas Hym.
Soudani should be credited for shifting the momentum after the half.
Spirits were high for the hosting team, as they were able to go into the locker room at halftime with some hope in them to come out of the match with a point, but Soudani found the net, with an albeit fortunate bounce off of a defender, to open the scoring of the match in the 59th minute.
Soudani would soon double the lead with a curling left-footed shot around the goalkeeper from the top of the 18-yard box.
Soudani would then be replaced with the young Alen Halilović, who showed several flashes of brilliance himself. With the use of his quick footwork, and near unmatched speed, Halilović did a fine job of distributing the ball to his teammates and creating chances.
The now 17-year-old midfielder still has room to develop, but has been linked with top European clubs, and will certainly enjoy many more Champions League matches in his future.
Duje Čop added a third goal only minutes after Soudani scored his second to make the score 3-0 and completely put the match out of reach for the Luxembourg champions.
Ademi and Junior Fernades would add two more goals in quick succession to close out the game, and make a final score of 5-0.
Total domination was the story for Dinamo. Fola’s only hope was to park the proverbial bus and try to get out with as little damage as possible, but the coach Kruno Jurčić fielded a strong and heavy offense that was able to easily defeat their opponent.
Many positives came out of the match today.
Dinamo’s impressive passing allowed them to completely control the speed and tone of the game. They were able to tier their opponent by making them chase the ball constantly in the beginning of the game, and then finished what they came to do in the second half by scoring five goals.
Dinamo also came physically prepared. They were easily out muscling and out pacing the home side, while staying disciplined and committing few fouls.
Dinamo will now play the return leg of the two-leg series on Tuesday, July 23 at Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb. Dinamo are expected to move on to the third qualifying round. The draw for the third round will take place on Friday, July 19. Some possible third round opponents include, Tel-Aviv, Sheriff, Maribor, and Slovan Bratislava.

Dinamo have learned their fate in the next round of CL
Should they advance, they will either face
FC Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova)
or
FK Sutjeska Nikšić (Montenegro)
@ nepoznat,
You’re worried about Modric? Talk to Gareth Bale.
@nepoznat……it would be a waste, no doubt. I still think we will make it.
But, if we don’t qualify I will enjoy it because Strucnjak Stimac, Puppet Suker will get the blame. Mamic wont be impacted by it because nobody has the balls to stop him anyway. Puppet Suker will fire Strucnjak Stimac in order to save face and then Prosinecki will be hired as the next coach.
Typical Croatian hype. Soudani had one great game against “amateurs” and boooom! Personally he looked like shit against Hajduk in the super cup. I’m not saying hes not a good player but one great game against “amateurs” should not make him a good one either.
Ziva we can’t miss 2 World Cups in a row! What a waste of poor Luka’s chances that would be. World class player deserves to play on the world’s stage!
It just makes you shake your head even more how Sammir was forced on the repka. That is why I wouldn’t be upset if we fail to make the WC. It would be validation of the idocy of Puppet Suker, Mamic and “strucnjak” Stimac.
haha no shit, but Mamic still made Stimac start him against Scotland:
http://gol.dnevnik.hr/clanak/hnl/sammir-je-out-soudani-je-in-dinamo-ima-novu-zvijezdu—294939.html
HVALA nije bitno!
Vedran Corlukas story.
I would usually just post the link but you have to register to read this whole particular article.
‘Ćorluka da igra za Republiku Srpsku? To vrijeđa i njega i obitelj’
Međutim, on se također smatra Modrančaninom.
Vedrana danas pozivaju u reprezentaciju Republike Srpske.
– Svi mi jako volimo Čarlija, on je ponos plehanskog kraja. Njega obožava cijela Derventa, jer on je jednostavno takav dečko.
– Nikada niti jednu nije propustio!
On je to i zaslužio – kaže Ravlić.

@ Ante B.
Much respect to Orijent. They’re an old team (older than even my beloved Rijeka – who were founded in 1946), with a nice grb and fans who are passionate – even though Orijent have only played once in the top flight and haven’t moved out of the 3. HNL in quite sometime if I’m not mistaken…
NSW BLUES = fucking fags
Ivan Strinić o opužbama izbornika: ‘Ako sam ja problem Vatrenih, neka me Štimac ne zove!’
http://tinyurl.com/ldbzln5
I’m assuming Ziva can play a bit i mean he is hrvati like it or not surely his passport should be confiscated if he cant : )
har har whoever said there is a shaft up my arse that was not me.. ^^ look at pissed off iggy to certify they are ACTUALLY my comments u homo-imposters
Not to be confused with NK Orijent and their famous fans THE RED FUCKERS
I remember TŠK. They had a very retro coloured logo.
So Ziva could actually play a bit when mama let him out of the house, huh? 🙂
Here’s another Croatian powerhouse team blast from the past:
TSK Topolovac
They played one year in the Prva Liga in the early 2000’s. The one fun fact about them I always liked; even though they played their home games at nearby Sisak, there home ground could hold 1500 spectators, meanwhile only something like 900 people actually live in Topolovac
😀
Holy shit a GOSK reference………….I actually played a game at GOSK Dubrovnik.
Jadan hajduk
@anon
You know what is accurate. Japan Hajduk will never see CL play.
A win is a win but let’s remember Dinamo should have beaten this team by this much. I’ll take it as a dinamovac but I’m not celebrating like we won anything. This game as worse than Dinamo-GOSK Dubrovnik.
what was Alen thinking with his dribble on the edge of the box? pass the damn ball
still you Dinamo fans can’t complain with that 2nd half… 5-0 and on to the next round!
Hate? Ha ha ha
What did I say that was not 100% accurate?
@Anonymous
The more we’re in the Champions League the better. Guy from Bayern Leverkusen dropped down to Dinamo to get some playing time. We get more guys like that, we might start winning some games.
Keep up the hating.
Fola got ČOPed up by Dinamo. And Soundani terrorized them, lol. Next qualifying round here we come!
@anon
yeah big fucking deal, at least they will make it not like your jadan Hajduk
Big fucking whoop, they’ll get smashed in the CL Group stage after putting away all the minnows in the qualifying rounds…
Oh sorry, not before majmun, I mean mamic collects his CL Group Stage prize money and socks it away in his Swiss bank account.
@Luka – Word. Soudani put in a beauty! Would have loved to see Kramaric put that last one away.
wow, 0-0 at the half, I go into a meeting, come out and the flood gates have opened 5-0.
And Kramaric will be going back to Lokomotiva after that beautiful pass. Zbogom!
5 goals. Beautiful.
5-0!
@Colin
You got admit some nice goals after the first one.
4-0 ademi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4:0! Ademi
The worst part is that you hear screaming in a foreign language and realize it might be the language the Dinamo players are communicating in
The kill usually happens when you smell blood like that…
That’s more like it. 3-0 Soudani and Cop!
3:0! Men vs boys out there. This is worse than a HNL game
Now the flood gates open!
2:0!
2-0!
@Colin
Jebiga, you gotta take it. Boring game.
Come on, one more.
Pretty poor. The only way we can score is on a lucky break like that one. 1-0 Soudani
Goooool!!!
Dinamo > Hajduk. Period. In every way.
Fola has had 11 behind the ball the entire game. I think Dinamo has at least 75 percent of the possession, but they have NO IDEA what to do with it.
wow, that first half reminded me of mens league rec!
@anonymous – yes we have players that love the club but they are really young. Just wait and see how much they love their club as soon as they don’t see their paychecks. Sad but true….
Hajduk > Dinamo
We have heart, and players who love the club
Looks like Dinamo is missing Damir 🙂
Dinamo will turn it around in the final 45 mins
Ante – Makedonci have their own alphabet its not serbian cirilica
PS they hate the serbs just as much as we do if not more….
@Colin, thanks for the link, unlucky late in the first half clearing header against the bar.
Time to start writing Hajduk in cirilica. This game is awful.
in game news, 0-0 at the 45 minute mark…
at this point, if I were Fola, I’d get all 11 behind the ball and park the bus. Would probably be their best result in Europe ever if they could pull off a 0-0 result.

Kruno je legendo!
http://croatiansports.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/juri1.jpg
this says it all. Proof that even coaches can be glorified jock sniffers.
Every time I think Dinamo may do something in European competition, I am reminded by one thing: they have Kruno Jurcic as their coach.
Here’s a stream for the game – http://sportska-tv-wizi.blogspot.com/p/fola-dinamoveetle.html
Man, I’ve played in bigger stadiums in front of more people! This is going to be great.
This should be fun
@ Sgt. Krastavac
Always a nice breath of fresh air when Dinamo or Hajduk aren’t the only clubs being supported on this site. I’m a Dinamo fan, but I have a soft spot for NK Precko (my home district).
The Argentine keeper was not too shabby against Hajduk, and I remember him coming advancing towards a cross at a critical moment to avoid being scored on in the first half. And of course, his one-on-one save. It’s only one game, but so far, he’s impressed me (except for his penalty antics haha).

Ante B, thats Veliki Hajduk 4 ya 😉
It looks as though the Serbs may have a very bright future in the next few years.
However, Croatia’s future has never looked brighter either.
Ilicevic scored Hamburg’s second goal against Anderlecht (friendly)!
@ anonymous
napred je teško reć?
You’ve gotta be kidding. Serbia doesn’t have a striker that can touch Mandžukić. Even Olić would be the star striker on that team.
They have bigger names in defense, but we have better players in key positions. They haven’t had a decent #9 or #10 in years. A player like Modrić or Mandžo is worth more to a team than their entire back line. We even have backups and players forced to play in other positions (ie. Rakitić, Kovačić) that would start as the #10 on their squad. Give it a year, and Halilović would even crack that starting lineup of theirs, lol.
They’re light years behind us, but yes, any good team can lose to a worse team on a given day. But there’s a reason why the Serbs are behind us in this group.
Hahahahahaha
http://m.gol.dnevnik.hr/clanak/hnl/nece-puno-tugovati-ako-ispadnu-pola-naseg-sela-navija-za-hajduk—294790.html
Croatia is better than the Serbs, still doesn’t mean we will beat them in BG. We still have some mental midgets on this team.
The serbs had their own mental midgets against us in ZG. Two very stupid errors is what led to the goals by us against the serbs.
I still think Belgium will lose points somewhere down the line, not counting against us when we play them in ZG. But, I also think we will lose points in BG. I think that game will end in a tie.
As for the comments about BiH. They look good and are in a great spot.
Croatia is clearly stronger than Serbia.
However, in any sport, the better team doesn’t always win. Therefore, any thing can happen.
Even if the Serbs win, that still doesn’t change the fact that Cro is better.
Does anyone know how much Maxtv charges for a subscription to watch soccer?
“Igrački Hrvati nisu jači od Srbije”
eto sta je cudno….
čitao sam, i što je čudno?

Look what this (Jado) had to say about Croatia vs Serbia in Beograd.
Jado is a term all Montenegrin people use, if none of you knew that.
WHO THE FUCK IS ZORICA?!

There’s a floppy shaft up my ass
is Alen still injured or will he play today?
@Mainzfeldski, cheers, he was a funny cunt but i hope he can back it up when it counts, Hajduk players did well not to smack him in the face, i support Osijek!
@ Sgt. Krastavac
Yep.
ajmo plavi
let’s get those coefficient points!
Dinamo all the way.
Is that new Argentine keeper the one that was mouthing off to the Hajduk players in the penalty shootout?
Ja mislim Dinamo? Ali pitaj boga.
