Is this a Faroe Islands appreciation post? Absolutely.
These guys punched well above their weight in 2025 during their best qualifying in history! Eight matches: 4 wins and 4 losses.
But hear me out, Faroe Islands only has a population of only 56,000 people.
Yet, they were able to beat Montenegro and Czechia in the same week. They gave Croatia trouble in Torshavn during the first 30 minutes; almost scoring twice. Livaković managed two fantastic saves. Montenegro needed a 96′ goal to beat Faroe Islands on home soil while Czechia required an 85′ winner to top them at home. They played so well they were basically one good result from a World Cup playoff berth. I mean, they almost took points off of Croatia on two occasions.
I’ve come a fan of the Faroe Islands this year. They gave us more trouble than abode else in our group. And I respect the hell out of them for it.

Ajax have lost 8 of last 9 games
Sutalo 2 goals allowed
Ajax fan:
Unpopular opinion: Sutalo is really an overhyped loser!!
A ton of those pathetic screamers and self-proclaimed experts think he’s good😅 Well, he can’t do shit! Yeah last year, then it was so compact that even clown Bassie could’ve walked it. #ajaexc #Ajax
tru dat
Yeah it’s sutalo fault a team lost so many games🤔usually when a team is in a crisis like that the dressing room is gone. losing 8 of 9 no reason to mention any individual player ?
You seem to be missing someone in all you harsh critiques today of our players ?
If we can get Romelu Lukaku on our backline we should be just fine. He will make sure nothing will go in. except his fist through plexiglas.
Two massive Josko mistakes
First goal doesn’t block the shot bc his positioning was poor to start
Second goal he lets tiny Barnes get the better of him positionally for the easy header in
Franjo pulled after 45 y’day in Cup
Mourihno changes 5 at HT – he said he wanted to change all 11
SN reporting something happen to head of Benfica fans ?
Wedding boy Sucic
Unused sub (and 5 were used)
Given 3-1 win – zero chance he starts next game
Ivusic 5 goals
Fruk 3G+1A
Told you
Anonymous = GOAT
People can make mistakes nothing wrong with misfit happens. But Vuskovic tracking back and closing that player was slow on that goal.
Any comments on the goal? Nothing to see there right?
Bipolar Vlad now convinced Vusko will start at the WC 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
#####
how do you know Vuskovic won’t start in the WC?
#####
“Opinion” based on 90 min vs. Faroe lol

09:30 Stanisic start – Igor bench

10:00 Pandur starts
Noa Mikic starts !!!

Here’s Vusko all touches/actions for the last Dortmund match
x.com/thfcdoomster/status/1991919544131293358
Vlad – hopefully you actually start watching HSV games – you could have probably caught up with his first 11 matches – in the time you spent writing long paras convincing yourself Vusko isn’t a stud bc of 90 min vs. Faroe 😘
Lol hahahaha, I agree I can’t help myself I just read so many stupid comments and posts.
My favourite “ Don’t make to much of the U-21 victory Hungary didn’t have their best players cause they were with the senior team, Hungary knows the u-21 doesn’t matter”
That’s right we should learn from the savez that literally hasn’t done jack shit. Maybe they needed their kids cause there team sucks guess what they didn’t qualify.
Also btw it only takes 2 min to write a long paragraph how long does it take to re watch and mention stupid irrelevant clips of guys missing headers and posting highlight reels?
Also since so many people know what’s in dalic head how do you know Vuskovic won’t start in the WC? Do they have a dalic line that they call in and talk to him?
And based on the last week what will the back line be?
The criticism toward Dalic is moreso about him not giving Vuskovic time to build chemistry with the senior squad, rather than make a last minute decision to play Vuskovic (or even start him) at the World Cup.
The same situation happened with Gvardiol at Euro2020, where Gvardiol was not called up for months…then when it became apparent that we had no option at LB (because Strinic, Pivaric, and Melnjak were useless) Dalic then threw Gvardiol into the starting eleven at the last minute (even though many of us saw that coming months before).
Gvardiol was a big talent, but he had zero chemistry with the team in that tournament.
@maminjo
This argument is over stated players at this level don’t need months of playing together. In my opinion Gvardiol wasn’t the biggest problem at euro 2020 I believe you’re over selling how bad he performed, guy really made only one glaring mistake against Spain.
2018 Dalic trip in America right before the WC is truly the first time Rebic was starting. Against Greece in playoffs he didn’t start rebic or mandzukic.
I believe This is where we will now what Dalic has in mind again this upcoming year about his back line the trip in America will tell us this.
@ anonymous
Bi polar based on what? I never said I had him in my starting lineup. I said how do you know what dalic has in his mind? He started him literally a week ago he is now in the fold and he will be at the WC. I don’t think Dalic because of players form has his back line figured out.
I just don’t see what you guys see that he should be a automatic can’t miss starter right now not in a year or 2 years.
Vlads back line if all healthy and all in form would be
Valincic. Sutalo. Gvardiol. Stanisic
Also one more thing to point out correct me if I’m wrong , Hamburg play a lot with a back 3, Vuskovic is usually in the middle last man back. Suits his playing style and lack of speed. Dalic played him the one time in a back 3 in the middle last man back again suits his playing style and lack of speed.
We def won’t be playing after last week in a back 3 at the WC.
It’s not “months” of playing together.
It’s only 2-3 games spread over several months.
You can only do so much in practice, but it would be beneficial to see what Vušković could do with Petar Sučić, Gvardiol and Modrić around him in an actual game. We haven’t seen that yet.
The “slow” comments are valid, but he’s also the highest rated youth player in all of Europe.
It’s worth seeing what we have. If he’s too slow, or making tons of mistakes for us (despite having guys like Gvardiol and Sučić around him for support) then we’ll know that he’s just not ready yet.
I used to think Pongračić was a player that we should call up and possibly start (when he was at Dortmund). He played well for them. He had speed, size and passing ability… but almost every time he plays for us, we lose. Even though he’s been playing regularly in Serie A for several years, he still isn’t consistent with us.
Now that we have a sizable sample, we know that he’s (at best) a backup for us.
I want us to get a sizable sample of Vušković playing for us (alongside Gvardiol, Sučić and Modrić) BEFORE we decide to put him out there in a World Cup match and some random crnac zips past him and scores a winner on us.
2024/2025 season
Baturina
7 goals
13 assists
Played c.3950 minutes
N.b. Had Pero next to him for 95% of these G+A
2025/2026 season (so far)
Jagusic
7 goals
7 assists
Played c.1600 minutes
Carrying Belupo in his back
Levels
But yeah – Dalic thinks he should still be with the U21s lol
⬆️
Were those two both call ups? Maybe Moro who was on the actual travelling national team, and garnered playing time, would be a better comparison of who he could replace. Nikola only has one goal I believe.
@Kromiza
Don’t follow
Jagusic comparables are Baturina and Luka Sucic i.e. #10s
Moro is a #6/#8
Or in the HNL it’d be Stojko
His ratings on SofaScore lately have been sky high.
He’s stepped up his game in these past 10 games.
If he continues to play like this, Dalic will call him up hopefully in March.
He would be a great spark off the bench for us at the World Cup.
9.8 today 😉
He’s what we were hoping Luka Sucic was going to develop into (but even better)
What also stands out – is his two-way play – again today he won 12 of 15 ground duels and won 3 of 5 tackles
That’s something we haven’t seen (yet) from Bati (definitely) nor Luka Sucic
Look at the track-back, tackle and ball winning @ 49:16
***.youtube.com/watch?v=PpcE5zCIDtQ
Can you imagine Baturina ever doing this at Dinamo ? lol He was spoilt and they didn’t do him any favours by not teaching him the defensive side of the game and that he has to run
Unbelievable that Belupo do teach this to their #10s
First goal – excellent first touch – then volley
Second goal – very Kulusevski – with the shoulder drops / change of balance / creating angle for the shot/goal
He also takes the throw-ins for them
Can’t think of a NT player that is particularly good w/ long throw-ins ?
Jagusic can add that to the NT – not being funny – but a long throw in can be a good weapon to score goals
Also when Zlatan chose Sweden in 2001 – Croatia still had Suker, Boksic, Vlaovic, etc around – so on Sweden he immediately became the main man – for Croatia he would have sat on the bench till all those guys retired
We’ve gone over this before
Where offspring is 1/2 and 1/2
In all cases the offspring gravitates to the paternal 1/2
Zuti – Croatian
Mihajlovic – Serbia
Djokovic – Serbia/Monte
Can anyone think of example of offspring following maternal 1/2?
Zlatan’s mom from Zadar
Zlatan’s dad not sure – he was a “Bosnian Muslim” (Nationality) but that’s doesn’t tell us his Ethnicity (ie he could have been a Croat or not)
In Zlatan’s case – given the “difficult” relationship w his dad – it was going to go one of two ways – follow the dads ethnicity (to try to appease him) or reject his dads ethnicity (to further “rebel” from his dad)
Zlatan chose the latter
The thing is – if he didn’t have such a “difficult” relationship w his dad – he probably wouldn’t have had the same drive as he uses it as fuel
Jaga in the 19th
Wow
30+ metres out
His GF clearly doing God’s work
Yessir, also in the 71st
Same # of goals this season as Bati had the whole of last year in only 40% of minutes Bati played the whole year
I know. He’s toying with his opponents.
What if it’s just a case of our group being really bad?
What if Czech get demolished 5-0 in this playoff round match?
Maybe we still haven’t overcome our poor play from Euro2024 and UNL, and this easy group has enabled us to think we’ve improved since then, but maybe we actually haven’t?
😉
I think our backline is actually better with Vuskovic (+ 6 months) vs Vida. Stanisic vs Sosa.
Mid field Petar and Luka Sucic are pretty compelling talents that have a lot of potential compared to Brozovic who rarely shot on frame, and really no scoring threat. Modric and Kovacic older but still competitive and impactful.
Our front line has never been the same since Zlatan Ibrahimovic went to sweden, and Suker retired. We always pull together a rag tag of misfits together, to assemble a pretty good competitive bunch for our front line. Vlasic , Marco came on strong of late. Perisic, Kramaric are still here.
True, if we had made it to pot 1 we would maybe not have been tested until the final 16.
What does Zlatan have to do with our NT?
He never said he was Croatian until Luka won the Ballon d’Or.
Poor attempt at humor.
Seem biggest struggle is putting together an A-1 consistently dangerous front line, unlike the highly populated and ranked European and South American countries. Always the dark horse or in our case the spotted dog.
Our victories have always been unconventional.
2018 and 2022 Control the ball possession through superior mid-field. “Don’t Lose” in regulation time. Rely on end of game PKs to neutralize opponents’ advantage with superior goal tending.
2026 Ultimate press with the most dynamic offensive backline the world has ever seen. Play Vuskovic. Also re-incorporate past 18/22 success.
True…it’s too bad we never really had a world class striker after Suker. Zlatan would have been a huge boost to our lineup at his prime, however I don’t think he ever hinted at that possibility. I always assumed that he was raised as a “Jugo”, since he never really talked about his Croatian background, until recently.
We had Mario Mandzukić who was THE top striker in the Bundesliga and was a key player in Bayern Munich’s champions league win in 2013. He then was one of the most important strikers in La Liga, helping Atletico Madrid be one of the top teams in Europe. Then he took his world-class-ness to Juventus and continued to be great there. Always remember how great Mario Mandzukić was!
Yes no doubt agreed, enjoyed is aggressive energy and attitude.
It stems from rumors that the HNS were trying to bring him on board but were unsuccessful (though I think it was just rumors).
Also, he’s Catholic so there’s that part.
I thought he was half Bosnia Croat. He has the swagger of a Croat no doubt.
His mom is a Dalmatinka from Zadar. His dad is a Bosniak.
His parents divorced when he was young and he lived with his mom growing up.
His 6’5″ athletic frame is entirely thanks to his Dalmatian genes.
I’m not sure that he’s Catholic. Didn’t he post a “middle finger” as a Christmas message a few years ago?
He was raised Catholic by his mother, and he described himself as a faithful Catholic as well.
But there was an article last year that quoted him as saying he is no longer deeply religious, so who knows.
I am glad we never had Zlatan. What did he do for Sweden? Vida wasn’t a great player but we made it to the final with him. I will take Perisic any day. Brozovic helped so much in ‘18 and ‘22. Give credit where credit is due.
True, in trying to be positive about the future, I should not be ungrateful and unthankful for past players. Don’t need to breakdown others to raise other’s esteem. My bad.
I was grateful especially for Vida. He was able to head the final goal in the Russian match, to make it all possible.
Brozovic ran like crazy and was the main aggressive key in controlling the middle field in both efforts, and was a true fighter.
I do have hope for the future, and that Croatia will move forward with others with different unique skills, and that was my real message. That it is not all dark, and we have a chance amongst all these changes, with big shoes to fill, no matter how big they were.
Jagusic GF update
See Maxsport highlights of U21
That’s Jagusic GF @ 0:16 in all white jacket (with white hoodie) bottom left
Anonymous knows this as she posted a pic of herself at the game (hugging Jaga) with the same all white outfit jacket on

Anonymouse agrees and disagrees.
Firstly, this is an article on Faroe Islands, so for all you nose pickers Anonymouse will bring us back on point.
Anonymouse agrees with the respect factor for Faroe Islands, regarding their population.
Anonymouse disagrees about the trouble they caused us. This was due to playing players out of position, bad formations, and not playing young hungry players such as Marco.
As you can see when Dalic used proper tactics and not bunkering before having a lead, simple football tactics 101, we dismantled the FI with ease.
Lastly, a valiant group but does not pass the Mighty Anonymouse nose picker test.
7-0 Dinamo
Varella break-out match 1 G + 3 A
Kulu with nice efforts and goal (I guess he’s taken being stripped of vice-captain not so bad after all)
Stojko too
DDB continues to be lazy pylon out there (except when DZ gets a penalty – he runs over to pick up the ball to take it – such a beta-loser – funny none of his teammates even both passing him in the ball)
