Belgium will host the Vatreni in Brussels on March 3 for Croatia’s first NT contest of 2010. Though not a traditional European soccer power, Belgium is a young, formidable, and talented squad that is looking to make a name for itself in the European soccer scene.
As we wait for Slaven Bilić to announce an official roster in the coming weeks, we must consider that facing an opponent of Belgium’s standing and reputation will allow our own young players and NT hopefuls like Danijel Subašić, Nikica Jelavić, Manuel Pamić, Mladen Bartulović, and Drago Gabrić a chance to prove their capabilities against another well-matched and youthful European side. Our stars will get their playing time, but this contest is specifically catered to our younger players looking to earn a permanent roster spot come September and the arrival of EURO 2012 qualification.
Personally, I applaud the HNS for taking this game. Easy tests against European minnows like Moldova and Liechtenstein provide us with little feedback on the state of our squad and its proficiency against stronger opponents. The clock is ticking on Slaven Bilić to put a solid squad together. September will be here before we know it.
Thanks to Ciganski Bosanac for the story!

CIGANSKIIIIIIIIIII BOSANACC
@Ante
Thanks for sharing your apocalyptic vision 🙂
I'm not a psychologist (but I play one on TV), and thus I say, whatever, bring on the Turks, it's time for pay back. We'll roll them like uncooked cevape!
btw., what do you all say we start a collection to get Bilic a new suit?
It's time he lost his "stuporstitions", don't you think?
Tony,
I think that's just a plan, I don't think that stadium is actually going to be built.
Here's why:
Dinamo Zagreb plays at Maksimir and the majority of Purgeri (citizens of Zagreb) believe that it should stay that way. They want a new stadium but at the old location.
This location on the link you provided is not at Maksimir. There's going to be a vote sometime this year after the elections and I do not think it will pass…Dinamo will stay at Maksimir.
Drugim rijecima, NE DAMO MAKSIMIR
Unrelated to this article, I came across this article on Gizmodo about a new stadium they are going to build in Croatia.

Belgium set it up..it said that they were gonna have a friendly with Northern Ireland but then the Belgian coach asked the staff for stronger opposition.
..and yes i am back ..kinda i was never away i just stopped posting and i thank you for your warm welcomes
Ciganski Bosanac returns!
I was hoping for a friendly against a world cup team, however can't complain with Belgium.
I wonder if the HNS scheduled this or was it Belgium that made the offer and phone calls?
Actually Belgium is a very good squad at the moment , probably the best they have been in the last 10 + years
Good stuff! Here's the official link.

Also, I just had a dream/nightmare that Croatia drew Turkey in 2012 qualifying and our first game was away to the Turks. The whole game was 0-0 as Croatia played weak and missed chances. Turkey scored the game winner in injury time to seal it. 90'+4…something like that. The Euro draw is next month.
