‘CROATIANS UNITED INTERNATIONAL’ CAMPAIGN
Croatians have always donated their time, energy and money to support causes in Croatia. Majority of the energy and money have been donated in the past to support Croatia physically.
In the case of the ICTY rulings, the issue is not so much food, medicine or arms supply, like it was during the war, today the issue is policy.
Policy determines how nations and international organizations make decisions in the world.
How can we as “protesters” affect US and UN policy?
We can make it an issue!
How do we make it an issue? A real issue that will be talked about on CNN and BBC….
Today, the same Croatians that are moderating the ‘Free Gotovina’ groups, websites and pages on Facebook are calling themselves CROATIANS UNITED INTERNATIONAL and are launching a CAMPAIGN to raise $60,000 to purchase a full page ad in the “A” section of the NEW YORK TIMES!
If only 6,000 of us Croatians can donate $10 each towards the purchase of an A SECTION full page ad in the NY Times, we are of the belief that we can make this an international issue and influence both US and UN policy.
The ad has been created and you can decide for yourself if you want to contribute the $10. We feel we can have the ad in the NY TIMES very quickly. CroatianSoccerReport.com challenges our readers and Croatians worldwide to raise $60,000 in SIX DAYS!
This is true democracy. You get to vote and be influential for $10. This one page ad in the NY times is worth more than 100,000 of us hitting the streets.
This ad will not only be seen by more that one million people reading the NY Times, but it will generate hundreds of other news stories by other global media organizations, bringing it to the attention of tens of millions of people including the US State Department, Hillary Clinton, the UN and the leaders of the member states.
MoveOn.org executed this exact campaign, publishing a full-page ad in The New York Times on September 10, 2007, accusing General David H. Petraeus of “cooking the books for the White House”. The ad also labeled him “General Betray Us”.
This is not your daddy’s protest. This is the new generation of Croatians using modern day tactics to influence policy, gain real respect and be heard.
Think about it, for $10 we can move mountains!
We have set up a PayPal account to accept donations:
Please email me with any concerns or questions you may have at den.fisto@gmail.com and I will respond to them as soon as possible. If you would like to speak to me via phone, email me and we can make arrangements.
Here is the ad, simply download it and post EVERYWHERE, Facebook, blogs, email.
DONATE $10
DONATE ANY AMOUNT
Can we raise $60,000 by Tuesday, April 26? Can 6,000 of us donate $10. Can we unite?
Josipovic is headed to the United States on Saturday and his visit will end on Tuesday.
He will be meeting with Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton and it's expected that Gotovina will be discussed.
I brought up Joe Biden many posts ago since he was one of the most supportive to our cause at the height of the war. Hillary would be supportive as well for obvious reasons.
It's not as easy as asking Milosevic to release the two knuckleheads who crossed the "border", as this is obviously a whole different situation. However, at least it's something you hope would spark conversations in the "background" on appeal to let him go:
http://daily.tportal.hr/124646/President-Josipovic-to-visit-USA.html
The demonstration at the UN only drew 200 people. It's not suprising since it was at 4:30 p.m. on a work day and not very well publicized, in my opinion.
The low amount contributed by Croatian-Americans is not suprising either for various reasons. A lot of folks here feel that if those who actually live in Croatia didn't give a damn when they "gave him up", why should we.
For many others, UNFORTUNATELY, this topic is ancient history.
Currently $7,100? This is pathetic. I understand we're a small country and community, but this is just a shame.
So what's the plan now? CSR, needs to have this placed at the top 24/7.
Thanks….good to know.
Ziva, 2 demonstrations:
1) Today in NYC from 4:30-8pm.
2) March 30th in LA

I'm assuming the total is no where near 60K. I applaud the effort by you guys. Its nice to see love for the homeland, but the people just don't care any more. Not all the people, but a majority do not care.
For many people the war is over, Croatia is free and democratic (run by idiots), and I think many view the Gotovina verdict as something that the country has to pay for as a result of the war.
Is it right???? No.
Not much, if anything, will be gained form any protest or rally. The momentum is gone. Almost 2 weeks after the Gotovina verdict and nothing from the diaspora community in the US.
Fiery……….I hope I am wrong here, but I don't think a NY Times ad will generate any mainstream media coverage either. We'll see. The cro media will pick up on it, but there will be no substantial follow up in the states.
How many people remember that least ad they read in a newspaper?
Again, I hope I am wrong.
I remember two weeks ago people were saying the Gotovina verdict would start a wave of protests in Cro. Guess what, nothing.
I view the ad, protests/rallies as a sign of support for our generals. Are there people out there who actually think they can do something to get the verdict changed or put international pressure on the UN and the hague.

Stormfront? no, it's nationalsalvation.net and whitakeronline.org.
Why is it that large-scale, massive, third-World immigration is reserved ONLY for European and European American nations?
Why is it that no one is asking if China is ready to be flooded with tens of millions of non-Chinese? Why not? China has a highly successful economy, a growing economy, an and ever-increasing share of the global market place. So, why is immigration and programs of displacement just carved out for White children alone?
Does the global community despise, loathe, resent, and hate white children's presence on this planet SO much that they would just as soon see the white race wiped off of the face of this Earth as they would see it succeed within a Nation full of White people? Why do these anti-Whites’ hearts BURN with such hatred?
As someone posted previously, I hope the final product will not be the drawing of Gotovina, which resembles something a sketch artist does and actually makes him look like some "shadowy" figure.
Looking forward to seeing it in the Times.
Great initiative Branimir. Just made my donation with Visa and hope we hit the target.
My Dear Croats, unite and make your donations. Stand behind our heros as one voice and let's influence change.

Don’t be so hard on N.American Croatians! The question here is, is quick action (a demonstration) better than effective action (a paid advertisement)?
Unfortunately, the demonstration in Melbourne did not generate a single news story in mainstream Australian media.
I personally think a well-written and targeted newspaper advertisement is a far more powerful and effective tool. So work hard on the getting the right message across.
Congratulations to Jack, Branimir & Denis for coming up with the idea and working hard on establishing transparency for the project.
I did not attend a demonstration in Australia, as the Australian Government can have minimal impact on the UN and ICTY, BUT have paid my $10 and have encouraged my friends to do the same.

Discouragement.
Braco Hrvati i sestre Hrvatice, despite all the negativity around us, never get discouraged and stand up for what's right.

The sheeple masses mocked Jesus, defamed Jesus, the Jew mommy professors condemned Jesus to death and the Big Daddy World Police Romans beat Jesus and nailed him to a cross. And when Jesus was hung high on that cross he asked God to forgive the minions because they knew not what they did (ie it aint worth it God cuz they're so fuckin stupid!) Only a select few humble plebians understood and KNEW Jesus was right.

"In the 1950s, every student had to learn the difference between “socialism” and “communism.” Every college student could parrot that: while socialist GOALS could be the same as commies, professors who were socialists did not advocate violent MEANS to that (commie) end.
One high State Department official said he had a problem with this back in the late 40s when he filled out his Federal job application. A question on it was, “Have you or any member of your family ever advocated the overthrow of the United States Government by force or violence?”
He had a little trouble when he replied, “Yes.”
His grandfather was still alive and his grandfather was a Confederate veteran.
But note the question was not, “Are you a Communist?” There was a LOT of legal maneuvering then. The Federal Courts ruled that a person could be fired from his job for being a member of the Klan or other “hate” organizations accused of violent intent, but no one could be fired for being a Communist who openly advocated the violent overthrow of the government and the violent seizure of all property.
As we all know, this court law is the one that governs our society.
On the left, one simply has to make it impossible to prove that one is ENGAGED in promoting actual and specific violence. On the left, the ENDS make no difference at all.
On the right, the MEANS make no difference at all. The GOAL of preserving the white race opens the door to any action anyone wants to take.
This policy is, as usual, most fanatically supported by respectable conservatives. William Buckley jkept whining to liberals that he wouldn’t hire anyone they called a racist. So why were Major New York Ti9mes writers openly not only pro-Communist, but pro-Stalinist?
The simple answer, of course, would be, “Largely because of prostitutes like you.”"
@Denis – Agreed. Your points are well taken.
First off guys I want to thank each and every one of you who have donated and helped spread the word for our campaign. Up to this point, we have raised $3822 towards our goal. Everyday we are making progress.
Croatians United International is an organization Branimir and I have founded in the midst of our goal. Like Branimir eluded to, we are in the process of turning this organization into a 501 c 3 and making this entire operation transparent. It does take time and we are working as hard as possible to accomplish both of these goals.
I just submitted the papers to the Federal Building today in Los Angeles about our protest. I will receive notification on Monday whether my request was approved. As soon as I receive the approval, we will rampantly promote the date and location. For those of you who want to promote negativity about North Americans not doing anything, keep it to yourselves. New York is having their protest this Tuesday across the street from the UN. North Americans everywhere are working hard to make this a reality. So please, keep the negative commentary to yourselves.
A lot of you have brought up legitimate concerns. Like I previously mentioned, Branimir and I are in the process of making this as transparent as possible. The goal is 6,000 Croats Worldwide to donate $10. We will be personally notifying people who have donated in the event of us not reaching our goal. Options will include a refund or alternative advertising publications.
Please email me with any future concerns or questions you may have and I will respond to them as quick as possible.

Once again guys, as one global community, we need to continue to spread the word regarding our initiative. Any form of assistance is truely appreciated.

depending on the scope of your job, if you say something publically that is even accurate and correct, but brins unwanted attention to you or your employer, just watch how you can be removed.
@Ziva, it's not true that an employer is "free" to fire you for public comments; it depends on what the comments were. Also, you say that "there are consequences for expressing your view" – like losing your job if you say something that's true but politically in-correct? – well then obviously "you are (not) free to say whatever you want". In many countries in Europe they actually put you in jail for "hate speech" if you question the "six million" – not denying the Holocaust, just the questioning the # gets you jail time. Why are they afraid to discuss that? If it's so concrete and obvious, why wouldn't you just laugh people off who said different?
Polybius…..it appears you don't now the meaning of frees speech in this country. Yes, you are free to say whatever you want, be it in a public place or a message board. But, your employer is also free to fire you for public comments as well. There are consequences for expressing your view.
Denis: "The problem with a list of people is that some of them dont want their names published for security reasons. People lose their jobs over what they say on facebook. This could be a similar case."
——————————–
Nah! In the land of the "free" and home of the brave you can lose your job based on taking a political stance? I thought we had "freedom of speech", no?
After a 2 hour meeting last night, we have come up with some answers to your questions:
1) Just like Ante Kvartuc wrote, this operation is run by Dennis Fistonich and Branimir Kvartuc. Ante Kvartuc and I fully endorse this project and will contribute to the cause.
2) Yes, We will add more cities to the list: Chicago, Nurnberg, Buenos Aires, Lima, Santiago and a few others. Please feel free to contribute to this.
3) Our #1 goal is to show the world that we are all together on this. We set a goal for 6,000 people. Its not about the $60,000, but about the 6,000 people. We dont want 4 people to donate $15,000. If possible, we would want 60,000 to donate $1. So even if you donate $1, thats ok. Its your vote that counts.
4) As far as making a list of who donates, there will be people out there that don't want their names published online for security reasons. Unless this changes, I dont think that Branimir and Fistonic will post names.
5) "Names and contact info"
Contact Branimir Kvartuc at branimir@earthlink.net

@Ziva,
why not a move to hrvatska?
The Aussie hrvati down under put us to shame. They organize a rally within hours of the verdict while here in N. America nothing in almost one week.
As I have said before, I applaud the idea of a an ad or some type of action. But, we clearly lack croatian leaders in N. America.
Need to consider a move to Melbourne or Sydney.
Here is my problem. My heart is in the right place like all of yours. However, Im still not sure were going in the right direction with whom were fighting against. Asu Dukic said, our own govt. turned Gotovina in, whether it was the communist party or not. The fucked up thing is this, wasn't it the HDZ that has ruled the parliament for quite sometime now. Either way, when an outsider looks at this dilema, they are going to say, "The country, which has a democratic government, wanted this to happen." So I guess my point is this, lets protest Hrvatska's government instead of these other governments/organizations. Does that not make sense? I mean wasn't the whole point of turning in these generals to get into the E.U.?
Good job guys great cause I donated $30 yesterday and if we start getting closer I will help out some more. Just try and make everything look as credible as possible and try to reach a big audience. I have no problem donating as long as you guys are putting everything to good use as you seem to be
The money has been donated via credit card/paypal.
For every other CROAT out there who have not donated, this is your time to stand up/out against such autocracies. 1; 2,3,4,5 dollar donation is 1; 2,3,4,5 dollars more towards our goals.
As a Croatian web community we need to unite, stand up for ourselves and be heard, or we simply can bend over and give up.
We have a few Serb war criminals out there that are still safe, cause their people are doing something about it while we are punishing our few heroes such as GOTOVINA!
This is an opportunity to make a difference and really show of force.
Donating $30.00 for now
Zodiac
To all,
Although CSR is not directly running the Gotovina New York Times ad donation campaign, CSR is supporting it 100%! CSR's Dennis Fistonich, my brother Branimir and 'Searching For A Storm' director Jack Baric are running the show. CSR has full trust in this board as all individuals named above have been long time Croatian friends. For you skeptics, rest assured this is a valid cause.
CSR is here to United Croatians Around the Globe, and not form doubt in the eyes of our readers. Should we not reach goal by deadline, all donators will be notified. I understand the refunds would be an option.
However, if we can't reach 6000 Croatians worldwide for $10, what's the point? Especially when CSR brings in 25,000 visitors a month and Melbourne has already demonstRated a protest with 4000 people.
To answer some of the questions…. I have posted above identifying myself Dennis Fistonic and Jack Baric as guys who came up with this (what we think) brilliant idea.
We had to move fast. If we did not, we would loose all of the momentum from the verdicts of the case.
We created a PayPal account to accept the funding we called the collective croup Croatians United International because it sounded like it represented to collective group of Croatians around the world.
I am working on transparency. We are making Croatians United International into a 501 c 3 non-profit organization.
This takes time, but will be done.
The ad is a first draft. We have a professional designer working on the final draft. Because this will be an ad in the NY Times, I am also working on getting rights to use a proper photo. Hopefully the final draft will be done in the next 48 hours.
Its not easy raising $60,000. Its also not easy when you really want to accomodate everyone's ideas. Its also not easy acquiring trust. But we are doing the best we can and putting ourselves out there.
If you believe in this cause and want to help start collecting donations and deliver to the PayPal account.
No free Gotovina, no EU.

Your "pollution" is all over this board. I hope they don't delete your vile mind's words because everyone should see the kind of people the devout adherents to our established religion of political correctness really are. Does everyone see the unbridled HATE that pours out of the politically correct sheeple when someone dares dissent to their evil religion?
HOw many money is collected so far??
can u make a counter ??
thanks
@ CSR Crew and Jack Baric
I agree with that anonymous post stating we need "win over the apathetic."
I trust that you guys will do so and make any revisions that would help do that.
Before I donate I'd like to request that Chicago be added to listed cities at the bottom of the ad.
Please let me know if that's possible and if there's anything else I can help with. Denis has my contact info.
@ Int'l politics Anon
Very well said, your comments are always welcome here. We need more input from cerebral types such as yourself. Your plan is exactly how I would approach it. In fact as I alluded to in previous posts on this issue, your strategy shows exactly the mistakes that Gotovina's defense team made. They should've begun with a contrite/apologetic attitude in regard to the crimes that did indeed happen after Oluja, and then continued to make the point that 1100 people (I think this is the number that I remember from the closing arguments of Misetic) were prosecuted for those crimes by the government.
Likewise, Ziva, well said in regard to transparency, that's very important, as you can see that some people are already worried about their donations. It's a different ball game once you start asking people for money.
Personally, and don't get me wrong, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here, but I'm not sure that $60k is best spent on a NYT ad. It might make more sense to raise money for a CUI lobby group in general, to fight for Croatian issues and interests globally, principally using social media to achieve these goals. For example $60k could pay for a full-time employee to work for a year, to raise more money, blog, tweet, write letters, speak publicly to other Croatian groups, partner with other Croat groups, lobby, network, facebook etc.
Anyway, just some thoughts, I know that your hearts are definitely in the right place, but again I think we need to use our heads to harness the immense energy of our hearts.
How about a Thompson concert with proceeds going to the Gotovina defense? Also, why not USA-Today instead of NYT?
I see the Netherlands banned a Thompson concert in 2003; "freedom of speech"? I don't think so. I bet blantant commie musicians never get banned.
May I make a couple of points.
I may just be a lurker here, but I happen to be half-Croatian and also work in the field of international politics, so maybe my thoughts will be of value to the organisers behind this.
Some things you need to consider if going for this kind of approach.
First: appearance matters. The presentation has to be slick. The language has to be perfect. That does not just mean spelling and grammar, it means style. The look of the advert has to be correct as well. The picture in what I presume is the draft advert looks like it could just as easily have come from a "CONVICT GOTOVINA NOW" flyer.
Second: work the advert to the strategy. What is the aim? Who are you targeting? What are the groups you want to influence? Once you have decided that, work the text around that.
Remember, you are not trying to convince people already on your side. You need to win over the apathetic, and the sceptics, and plant a seed of doubt, if you can, in the outright hostile.
Build empathy, be as balanced as you can in the text. It's easy for me to say this because I didn't live in Croatia during the war, but consider that if you were trying to win over a sceptic and your life depended on it, you'd probably begin by conceding crimes did take place – but then say that the verdict is still wrong. And this is why, etc. I know emotions are high, and with good reason. But remember, the strategy is win over those who do not think like you, and do not have your experiences. Whoever is drafting this, invite some people without a stake in the outcome to give their opinion on each draft. Listen to them. Redraft, and redraft again.
Use advanced legal arguments; but phrase them simply. Appeal to empathy; but write rationally. Carry across the anger; but do it with undestatement and dignity.
Third: Again, appearance matters! What you do not want to do at all costs is have this thing look amatuer. I don't want to be cruel, but the absolute worst outcome is having imagery and text look like it was done in someone's bedroom.
Sorry if I appear like I am lecturing, but in my field I have seen so many times people will a good idea and for a good cause let themselves down. Often, I have seen Croats – commercially and government – do this.
So if you want to have a real effect, produce this as rigorously as a advertising agency would.
I don't doubt your hearts are in the right place but your heads are not quite right. I donated $5.00 and I am coming ot regret that considering above all you guys have NOT addressed where the money will go if as is most likely you miss the $60,000 target sum. WHere the names and addresses of the guys running this? How ocme I've been following this blog for two years and have yet to get into contact with any of the originators of the blog? I hold a university degree and many years working as a civil servant and would like to help the blog out but you guys use an archaic system to communicate with like-minded Croats. Again my question is will I get my money back if you don't reach the target sum. I notice someone else asked that same question (last post so far on the blog) and no one has replied to it. Guys if you don't know how to reply to this question I doubt the future of Croatia, I'm serious. Same thing with the "bring the reprezentacija to U.S. campaign". I never saw a updated total for how much money you guys received and no updates and what has been done to bring the National Team to North America. Dennis I call on you to get in touch with me directly leave a phone number or something as I know you from years back when you sold me a Croatia nogomet tape on Ebay. Come on guys lets hear more and why does it have to be the NYT? I bet an ad in the Toronto Star will reach more than a million people and be just as relevant.
T
Hey Guys,
Great idea. There are so many of us out here that would be willing to help, but for some reason people are hesitant. Once we get up to 2/3 of the target the last 1/3 will come easy. It's getting the ball rolling that is the tough part. I have one question and two pieces of advice that may help people feel comfortable about donating.
Question: What happens to the donations if we don't reach $60,000? Let's say we only get $40K, or $20K. Will there be a smaller ad? Will the donations be returned?
Advice 1: Have a link that lists people's names and contributions. If I could see my name on a list I would feel more comfortable that my donation has not disappeared into cyberspace.
Advice 2: If you contacted the Croatian Churches in North America to have an additional collection this weekend, for this purpose, you should be able to capture a high percentage of the non-computer savy Croatian population. But you have to have a verifyable paper/electronic trail of donations.
Good Luck.

@anonymous above,
Dude it sort of ironic because u obviously don't know your grammar and how to spell in croatian.
@arrian
I know how u are very touchy and like to preserve the white race. How do you feel about ante gotovina, u know his first wife is columbian and he has a child with her. He must not be a hero to u anymore. HAHA
keep the ustasa and za dom spremni bullshit out of this, and the demonstrations if you ever want to be taken seriously. mishko for one cant even spell it. diaspora je jadna.
Bravo ljudi! BRAVO! Za heroj mozemo probati sve.
Keep us updated on the amount of donations that are put through and I will try to ask everyone I know for donations as well. We WILL raise this money and it never hurts to try to do everything possible. Good Job to everyone who actually did something and organized this you guys are awesome.
Thanks for invitation to” help ” Gotovina.
Unfortunately in this case I’m siding with judges decision, guilty as charge.Nobody I mean Nobody is above the low. Serbs are human to.Please check all facts in this case,if they are available to you.Let facts determine if punishment is appropriate not your hart.
By saying this I will always be thankful to Gotovina for what he did for Croatia. He did in seven days what Croatians were trying to do for seven centuries. He definitely packed all Serb from Croatia back to Serbia, for good.
When will a Croatian living abroad become voice of reason?
Looks like younger generation know less about Croatia than older dying one.
Sorry for grammar, let’s be respectful to each others.
Kristo
Keep it up boys, I've shared this on Facebook and it's moving…
questions answered for me.
Just be transparent in everything you do. The more transparent, the more people will join in and the more validity you establish.
OK, I talked to my mother and I'm going to donate $50 for her. So that's $100 from my family so far.
Do we have a website built with the name like http://www.freegotovina.com or something like that? We need that and websites like http://www.crotia-no-eu.com
Hopefully this injustice might actually make our brothers and sisters recognize that we're on our own. The EU, the UN is all political b.s. with the intent of destroying European Identity.
We need to build relationships with Germany and other nations that are purely business, and NOT for the POCKETS of politicians.
Hell, I might need to get my citizenship and help straighten things out. Remove the mafia mindset, and start helping OUR people.
ZA DOME SPREMI
Ziva, does the above post by Branimir answer your questions?
Hey guys, many of you don't know me, I am Ante Kvartuc's brother Branimir Kvartuc. CSR's Dennis Fistonić, Jack Baric, director and producer of the Gotovina documentary "Searching for a Storm" and I came up with the idea to protest by buying a FULL page "A" section ad in the NY Times.
MoveOn.org did it in 2007, labeling gen. Petraeus, "gen. Betray US" It took the issue of the Iraq war to a new level and challenged policy. We can do the same.
We created the ad (not final version) and have created a PayPal account, believing we can get 6000 of us to donate $10 each. If you agree with us please donate: link:http://tinyurl.com/NYTimesAdANYamount
If you know us, please vouch for us, so that others may feel more comfortable making this donating. The simple goal is FULL page ad in NY TIMES….
With this campaign we also want to build community. We don't want six guys to donate $10,000 each, we believe that 6000 of us pooling our lunch money makes us more powerful. When we first talked about this campaign, it was born out of the belief that rallying 6000 Croatians around the world, to do something cool, is a great way to build community. It took 16 hours to get to $1000. If we are going to pull this off, we need to be at $6000 per day. Lets get some momentum going, lets get the word out!
We are calling the organization Croatians United International and are in the process of turning it into a 501 c 3 (non-profit organization)
To answer Ziva Istina, its us, we have the paper trail…

Well said. It's mindboggling that Josipovic, Kosor, etc, are minding the store. Pathetic.
Seems like our biggest ally at this time would be VP Joe Biden, since he was one of our biggest fans during the war. However, it appears that the White House has a muzzle on him for the past 6 months.
da crkne, umre, i sve to sto prije.
@ dukic
Kaj sad? So (expletive) do something about it!
Zivio Ante Gotovina
Just donated the 1$ i transfered to my paypall just to see if it would work haha , more incomming as soon as i transfer some money !

@Slavonac, as God as my witness my purpose is not to "bust balls". I'm trying to help – offering one man's (mine) opinions.
@ Arrian…"jebes me u zdrav mozak"…please please please just Fuck Off kindly…you're a ball buster!
To the creators and maintainers of this stupendous web-site, please keep us updated on locations and dates of protests.
Ziva Istina's questions must be answered and I believe that first sentence has to be changed.
I'd say something like as a 'Sovereign Nation' we categorically……
"As citizens of the international community"
We are a sovereign NATION bound by blood, I don't consider some cannibal in the jungles of Brazil as a fellow "citizen". The origin of the word 'nation' is Latin 'natus' meaning of the same birth origin or birth nature. That first sentence legitimises the "international community's" dominion over a sovereign nation's affairs.
Second, you can't put yourself at the mercy of an "international court" and then say change the policy after a decision by said court has been rendered, why do you think George W Bush denied jurisdiction to the Hague over the U.S. military?
Last, at this point with this particular case we have to concentrate on the appeal. On a broader perspective, we have to concentrate on securing complete sovereignty.
moveon.org are a bunch of liberal-commie-antiwhite-panzy-multicultists who think that every General who ever lived is a war criminal. mommy professor never taught Military History, said panzies don't realize that the best way to prevent war is to KNOW war. I used to read the NYT during the war, and that left wing rag incessently labled Croatians as "racist" Nazis.
No surpirse in that article. Kuhner has always been a good friend to Croatia.
to all…read this article…i think its important

I'm with $50.
Great cause guys, will be happy to do so.
I like the idea in theory and I will donate. But, here are a few thing I would like to know and want to point out.
Names and contact info of those behind this campaign. I want to know who is receiving the money and the paper trail that goes with it. When money is involved everything must be transparent. People gave blindly in the 90s and some of that money was never accounted for or spent foolishly.
The example of moveon.org was used. They were able to get some bang for their buck because they picked a topic that Americans had an interest in. Gen. Petreus and the Iraq war is and was a hot topic in the US.
I don't think we will get many day two stories from this. Gotovina is not a story in the US.
Also, make sure you get this ad pre-approved by the NY Times. THe NY Times has a sympathetic ear for moveon.org, I don't think they will have one for Gotovina. They might and probably would approve it, but it would be nice to know in advance.
What would help the cause is having the NY TImes ad appear on the same day as rallies/protests take place throughout N. America or at least announcing the dates and location within the ad.
Another article for everybody to check out.

@ dukic
prijatelj, mi hrvati nismo stavljali gotovinu u zatvor, nego su oni ex-jugo cigani ko su na vladu
hrvati jesu stavili gotovinu u zatvor.
Check the grammar guys, I'll be happy to do it.
"The campaign to buy an ad in the NY Times must just be a start in a new mindset amongst Croatians to band together and use our collective voices for the world to hear us instead of just talking to each other.
Previous generations never understood the power of media and political lobbying and so it is now up to the mlada generacija to lead the fight to free our generals and to establish a strong Croatian voice in the global media that puts forth our point of view and promotes our interest, not the interest of a European Union that quite frankly doesn't see our people as equal.
We must quit playing defense and start playing offense and let the EU and the UN know that we will be telling the world how terribly they failed the people of Croatia and Bosnia during the war and that we know this verdict is only a political justification of their wartime failures. It is time to judge the judges!!!" -Facebook excerpt
