WHICH GOAL TICKLES YOUR FANCY THE MOST?
2009: A year that Croatian soccer fans cannot wait to forget. A year that saw Barcelona overthrow Manchester United’s reign of European supremacy and Real Madrid sign two of the world’s greatest players: Ronaldo and Kaka. 2009 had its share of transfer drama, but it also impressed with its fair share of goals. The FIFA Puskas Award for ‘Goal of the Year’ will be announced on December 14th. Go to FIFA.com to officially vote for the award as soccer fans around the world get to choose the winner.
How does CSR Nation feel about these goals? Which one stands out as better than the rest?
Based purely on situation, I have to go with Andres Iniesta’s goal in injury time against Chelsea to put Barcelona in the Champions League Final. It was unbelievable watching that game live witnessing that after Chelsea was meer seconds away from glory. It was jaw-dropping.
However, based only on goal ability and athleticism, Eliran Atar’s Bicycle Kick wins me over. To hit a ball like that flying in quickly from the sideline is hard enough to do with no one around, let alone in a match. Although all of these strikes were remarkable, a few of them stand out as soft with defenses letting strikers roam the box freely. In Luis Angel Landin and Fernando Torres’ case, both goals were prayers. They weren’t even looking at frame when they struck the ball.
HOW DOES THIS ALEX STRIKE NOT MAKE THE LIST?
Keep posting stuff like this i really like it
I have seen bicycle goals, and I have seen plenty of amazing free kicks in my lifetime. However, I never seen such a powerful strike like Ronaldo from such a distance on the run. This goal blew me away. The amazing thing about it is that the goalie was not at fault.
Vote for Darijo Srna – the best UEFA right back of the season:

The Grafite looks nice, but what the hell kind of defense was that. The ball rolled across the goal line around 5 mph. Unacceptable.
Not another Chelsea/Srna rumor. I think Srna would thrive in the EPL or DFB.
I hope this is true but I'm skeptical because the quote they included has been circulating for several months now.
Chelsea want Srna:

What about Dudu's amazing goal earlier this year? I'd say it beats at least half the top 10 here.
If I had to vote I would go with the Nilmar goal: great body and ball control maneuvering his way around nearly the entire team. I also do like the goals from Grafite, Iniesta, and even Cristiano Ronaldo. You may not like him all that much for his pre-madonna attitude but have to respect him as one of the world's greatest footballers. Any of those would be worthy.
Here's my criteria for goal of the year… watching it live giving me the best shock value… Not necessaily technical skill but overall the shock of the goal, the timing of the goal, and the importance of the game played… Having said all of that, watching Chelsea-Liverpool live, the Alex goal gave you a "wow" factor… The power on that shot is only matched by Roberto Carlos.
love that grafite goal, but as for the alex goal, there are plenty of goals scored like that. What about Bentley's shot from basically half field. Don't get me wrong its a great goal but I prefer to see nice skill and control or passing rather than a strike, although i do love watching them.
Grafite, without a doubt. No explanation necessary.
