I agree that Ghana's losing that way was traumatic. My point was that it is very difficult for Croats to choose that loss over Croatia's. Anyway, I think Ghana deserved to win that match but, as we all know, in football, you don't deserve to win…you score goals. Besides, Ghana is a very impoverished country and I think they could have used the joy of being among the 4 best teams in the world.
I like the idea of "druga generacija". Next year we will have a Croatian soccer report.com friendly, prva generacija vs. druga generacija
Ante will be the head official.
I will be a linesman(yes, I am taking brides and I'm an expert at match fixing after getting halfway through "The Fix")
@Ivo
Ante came up with the poll. I thought it was an excellent question. I was 30 rows behind the goal where Turkey and Croatia shot PK's… to the left of me were 1000 turks in the Turkish area of the stadium…
besides all of this… I still think that Ghana's loss was harder to swallow for the Black Stars. Everything was in their hands. Make a Penalty kick and you win. Simple as that. Again, just my opinion.
I wasnt the same after that Turkey game. I was part of history, witnessed all this in front of my eyes. Today, I still feel as if it were a dream…. or a nightmare.
SOrry Tom when Toronto Metros-Croatia was around I was just sperm in my dads sack. But he used to go to the game and he tells me storys all the time! My dad loved Eusebio!
Chili cut Morales right before the wrld cup. Not to sure why cause I watched a few Chili cames and I think he would have fit in nicely.
And Im thinking that Strinic and Ibricic stay put!
rE: tom Morales was having difficulties with injuries at the end of last season and at home which was troubling him so its understandable he missed the Chile final roster. But i think he'll be around a lot more for the Coppa America etc.
Hajduk Split may keep Strinic and Ibricic. At present neither Dinamo or Hajduk intend to sell Ibricic or Mandzo unless they get an offer. Hajduk also have sold Seric so they have no proper cover in left back so that suggests they expect Strinic to be with them. I believe though Dinamo will get an offer for Mandzo from Wolfsburg, Red Bull or Bordeaux. It just worries me at the moment that we do not have a plan for his departure.
It will be hard but at present neither Dinamo or Hajduk are looking to sell or sign due to the economic climate. Dinamo do not wish to sell Mandzo as the rest of our strikeforce i.e Slepicka, Dodo, Sivonjic are quite weak and there is nothing to suggest they can score over 10 times. Hajduk also realise that Cop, Vukusic and Ahmad are not good enough so they holding Ibricic until a bid arrives.
I think we are only talking about Mandzo, Strinic, Ibricic and Badelj as players who can transfer abroad. The rest are certain to stay in there clubs.
All the major assets have already left HNL1
ALEN PAMIC: RIJEKA TO STANDARD LEIGE GORDON BUNOZA: KARLOVAC TO WISLAW KRAKOW IVICA VRDOLJAK: DINAMO TO LEGIA WARSAW MARIO ANTOLOVIC: CIBALIA TO LEGIA WARSAW DOMOGOJ VIDA: OSIJEK TO LEVERKUSEN
So yeah from what's left we're only talking Mandzo, Strinic, Ibricic and Badelj. We also saw from Badelj V estonia that he's not ready for any big transfer. I think Mandzo is ready though to go to Wolfsburg, Red Bull or Bordeaux. Strinic also was targetted by Koln and Lazio, but Koln can't afford him and Lazio are waiting on Kolarov's situation.
"WHICH LOSS WAS HARDER TO SWALLOW? (DON'T BE BIASED)" hahahahahahahhaha. C'mon Denis/Ante! With this question is impossible not to biased. I am south american and I wanted Uruguay to kick Ghana's ass, so I was suffering during the whole match, specially those last minutes, but I can't compare it with a game where Croatia is playing (especially a soooo traumatic one). What about discussing Suarez hand? I have been reading a lot of crap (both, supporting it and condemning it) in South american newspapers. What do you guys think about that? I can tell you that I would have done the same thing…100% sure.
Welcome aboard! Tell me, are you old enough to remember the old Toronto Metros Croatia? I used to attend their games as a kid at Varsity Stadium (which, for those of you who don't know, no longer exists.) If you're not old enough, your parents will probably remember.
Hey, speaking of Dinamo, I watched a number of the Chile games with great interest. I thought I might get a chance to see Morales but no such luck. Did he in fact end up making the Chilean roster?
Lastly, when are we going to start seeing some movement on the Croatian transfer market? I am anxious to see what kind of cash Hajduk gets for Ibricic and/or Strinic and who they manage to attract. Ziva? What does your crystal ball tell you?
Hahaha! Seeing as I live in Toronto its hard for me to make it out to the games. My knowledge about Croatian soccer and soccer in general is just fine. No need to worry about me I live and breath soccer, I can hold my own. But like you said I guess the posts will tell all.
You met get overwhelmed with the Hajduk supporters here but I assume that's nothing new.
Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much into Dinamo (Croatian soccer in general) are you? More passive or do you go to the games at all? Where would you rate your knowledge. I'm sure your posts will tell us in the future.
We know our shit, bring your A game which I'm sure you will.
Thanks for the welcome! Id like to think I can hold my own when it comes to Croatian soccer! Im just happy to find a site with people who know what there talking about!
Welcome! Most of these guys know their shit about Croatian football, so it can be intimidating to participate in discussion at times. However, feel free to comment whenever you'd like. Don't be shy.
Looks amazing! This is my first post! I found this site about a month ago and I love it! Its a fuckign great site!! Keep up the good work! Love from Toronto!
Man I'm going to Mexico on Sunday can't wait to jump in the ocean but I would trade just one day in Croatia for a week in Mexico right now….gotta say I'm very jealous
For some odd reason, I bet this was Brane's idea. Looks like so much fun.
Also, there should be a rule that dudes without chest hair are not allowed to paddleboard and chicks with chesthair are not allowed to paddleboard. I guess you can qualify as a chick.
Looks like number of Croats in the Bundesliga will increase further.
Beside Zvonko Pamic at Frieburg, Vida at Leverkusen, Kaiserslautern have now signed Stiven Rivic from Cottbus to go with Ilicevic and Lakic. They'll definitely be my favorite Bundesliga team next season having following them during their promotion year.
Soldo also wants Jajalo at Koln which is an important one for the national team. Andre Mijatovic is also on the way to Hertha Berlin but that is in Bundesliga 2.
Yup, failed the who's biased test. Big time. I am trying to improve though 😉
@ ivo,
I put the poll up. I thought it was a great question for Croatians and a test as well…
I think the Ghana loss is harder to take if you're looking from the outside.
That penalty was the last of the game and it wasn't even like the goalie blocked it…off the woodwork…
So much riding on one kick…Croatia game still had a few minutes in it…still have to play D…
And yes…try to pull yourself out of being in a biased position…see you in NorCal
@ Denis

@Tom in WPG Morales made the provisional chile squad but then got dropped after an exhibition game with Mexico right before the world cup started.
@ Everyone,
With the addition of DinamoDennis…I believe a new generation has arrived of CSR followers.
Druga Generacija
As everything on CSR, the majority has the final say. I'm just throwing it out there. What do you guys think?

Haha awesome, very cool boys, nice work. A nice reminder in case you forgot why we call it Ljepa Nasa!
@ Denis,
I'm working on the chest hair, trust me. Also, I know it's hard to hear…but I'm yelling 'Si se Bon' at the French cruise ship passing by.
damn i wanna go to croatia! best place in the wordl!
