NK INTER ZAPREŠIĆ 0 – 2 GNK DINAMO ZAGREB
photo: gnkdinamo.hr
Dinamo easily took care of their hosts on Saturday in front of 2,500, despite resting many of their top starters.
It’s been nearly a year since Dinamo gained the full three points against Zaprešić. They earned two draws in the past two matches dating back to last season, one home and one away.
Again, the match looked to be dead even. Dinamo owned possession throughout the majority of the half, but were unable show for it. During the times where they were able to, Krševan Santini was there to brilliantly defend the net he stood in front of.
The first 45 minutes had passed and remained scoreless. Dinamo was unable to assert their dominance to take the lead against Inter, who has been struggling to keep above relegation zone all season.
Sammir was subbed in the game in the second half, and instantly revived the atmosphere surrounding the team.
The newest member of the Croatian national team built up pressure that proved to be too much for the home side defense to handle. He set up on the edge of the box and sent in a well placed cross that was met by the head of Ante Puljić, who scored his first goal for Dinamo and put them in the lead.
“Of course I’m very happy with scoring, but our victory is more important than that. We played well, it was really hot, but we dominated the whole match and got a well-deserved victory. We now turn to Wednesday and Paris where we hope for a good result,” Puljić said after the match.
Dinamo continued to exploit the wings, with Luis Ibañez and Sime Vrsljako on the right, and Josip Pivarić and Duje Čop on the right.
Sammir once again was involved in a play resulting in a goal when he distributed the ball up the wing to Ibañez who then set up Čop for his sixth goal of the season.
Dinamo earned a 2-0 victory away at Zaprešić, but the match was overshadowed by fan activity.
Hundreds of BBB followed their club and cheered the team from the stands. In the first half, flares were tossed on the field, igniting a clash between the supporters and police.

HNK HAJDUK SPLIT 0 – 1 NK ISTRA

Hajduk Split has run into some very serious financial trouble recently. The club was, and still could be, nearly contracted from existence. One of the nation’s most storied teams is clinging to life.
This past week, city officials decided not to renew loans that would keep the club afloat. This would leave the club on its own, owing millions in debt.
Members of Torcida vowed not to let that happen. They began an initiative to get fans to the stadium on Sunday for the match against Istra 1961 to show their support and urge the city to reconsider. It was 30 years ago Saturday that Boris Jelović made a banner that said “Hajduk živi vjecno” or “Hajduk lives forever” and fans took that to heart.
25,000 showed up to Poljud for the match on Sunday to watch their team and support them during the tough time. Bili players took to the field with a banner for the fans that read “Vi ste Hajduk” or “You are Hajduk.”
Even with all the support, Hajduk could not capitalize in the match and fell to Istra 1-0. Though financially they still have a chance to stay afloat and finish the season, their hopes for the league title are quickly vanishing. They are in sixth place, 11 points from the top of the table. Anything is possible, but things are looking tough.
The first half of the game ended scoreless. Hajduk controlled the possession, and had an advantage in shots and shots on goal. Istra keeper Andrej Prskalo saved absolutely everything that was thrown his way.
Goran Roce won the game for Istra in the 80th minute when he scored a sure goal from close range.
Hajduk just could not catch a break on any of their chances. Finishing was no where to be found for the home team and Istra took advantage of that.
Even though Hajduk lost, fans had to have been proud with everything they and the team accomplished.
Can’t say the same for Hajduk coach Miso Krstičević.
“It’s hard to be defeated like this. We had a lot of opportunities that we did not capitalize on, and we received a goal from a free kick after a rebound. We hoped that we would continue our winning streak in our stadium, but we have failed,” Krstičević said.
Hajduk: Blažević, Milović, Vršajević, Stojanović (od 61. Lima), Radošević, Milić, Andrijašević, Oremuš (od 54. Maglica), Caktaš, Vuković
Istra 1961: Prskalo, Sušić, Čagalj, Budicin, Milić, Anđelković (od 89. Zgrablić), Blagojević, Ottochian, Bačelić-Grgić (od 60. Pamić), Roce (od 95. Prgomet), Križman.
HNK RIJEKA 2 – 3 RNK SPLIT

Split celebrated the first match with new coach, Zoran Vulić, by winning in his debut. Vulić felt as if there was a lot of pressure for him to win as the newest member of Split, but and came out victorious at Kantrida and is prepared to face his former club, Hajduk, in the derby next week.
4,800 fans saw Rijeka’s Leon Benko score first to put his team in the lead with a simple header that just crossed the line into the goal, but Split answered back quickly with a goal of their own when Ante Rebić made a fantastic run into the box and received a low cross from Henri Belle and tapped the ball in completely uncontested.
Split went into the half up 2-1 thanks to Ante Vitaić’s impressive spin-move goal in the 45th minute, but Niko Datković tied it up early in the second half with a laser of a header to beat the keeper.
Tomislav Glumac won the game for Split with his 71st minute goal.
Rijeka keeper, Robert Lisjak, left his line in efforts to punch away a corner kick, but left his net unattended allowing Glumac’s weak header to dribble in for the win.
“It was the kind of game we expected. Both goals we against us were from our mistakes, that we should not be happening if we want to go for something more. Rijeka used its two chances and made goals. We did not play particularly well, but we got up our fighting spirit and for that we are rewarded,” Vulić said after the match.
Split welcome neighbor’s Hajduk next week to Youth Park. It has been 15 matches since Split last lost a game on their home field, and have earned points in the last 29 of 30 home matches, dating back to February 2011.
RIJEKA: Lisjak – Datković, Knežević, Neretljak – Mujanović, Brezovec, Kreilach Weitzer (Močinić od 54′), Čaval – Cesarec, Benko
Split: Vuković – Radotić, Galović, Radeljić (Glumac od 30′), Hrgović – Vitaić, Paracki, Pehar – Belle (Baraban od 58′), Vojnović, Rebić
NK LOKOMOTIVA 1 – 1 NK ZAGREB
photo: tporta.prvaliag.hr? D.K.
Only 200 people were at Maksimir to witness NK Zagreb snatch a point from Lokomotiva on Friday. If you weren’t there, you had to have seen it to believe it. For the second time this season, the Poets have earned points in consecutive games.
NKZ came out on the field the dominant team. The beginning of the match consisted of them ruling the possession and had several attempts on goal. It didn’t take long for the Lokosi to bring them back to reality though when leading scorer Andrej Kramarić calmly brought down a cross with his chest and volleyed it into the net in the 15th minute for his eighth goal of the season.
Zagreb held their neighbors for the remainder of the match to one goal. Several more opportunities for them gave them a boost of confidence they needed to hang on.
Their biggest problem when playing is that Zagreb is not a clinical team. Despite several chances and near-goals for the Poets, they have no one who they can count on to finish plays. Their defense has greatly improved in the past month since Luka Bonačić was appointed the man in charge, but there is still a few pieces missing with the club.
Granted, a point is a point, especially for a struggling team from Kranjčevićeva, but NKZ lucked out with this one.
A penalty was awarded to Zagreb in the 73rd minute that Damir Šovšić tied the match with after a cross was sent into the box and Lokosi defender Ivan Boras appeared to be protecting his face, but his hand was struck by the ball and the referee pointed to the spot, ultimately awarding Zagreb a point.
Both coaches were pleased with the result and took their points home with a smile.
Lokomotiva: Radelić-Žarkov; Boras, Samateh, Mesarić, Musa (od 29. Martinac); Maleš; Šitum (od 77. Zakarić), Trebotić, Antolić (od 45. Chago), Bručić; Kramarić.
Zagreb: Vidaković; Jurendić (od 73. Vojtuš), Pelaić, Nadarević, Pavlović, Bevab; Handžić (od 27. Štrok), Oršulić, Šovšić; Abdurahimi, Medić (od 46. Mitrović)
NK SLAVEN BELUPO 2 – 1 HNK CIBALIA
Photo: Jelena Stipovic
Veteran Davor Vugrinec opened and closed the match on Saturday with a goal to win it for Slaven. His two goals marked his 134th and 135th career goals.
Both teams were missing several key players, most notably Slaven’s Nikola Rak and goalkeeper Silvio Rodić.
Slaven was happy to get all three points, the first time they have done so in four matches.
Vugrinec wasted no time getting the game started. It only took six minutes for the 37- year-old to score his sixth of the season. A Slaven counter attack led to an opportunity in the box, but Dario Rugašević collided with Mateo Delić and Slaven was awarded the penalty which Vugrinec easily converted.
A penalty was awarded to Cibalia and they used it to tie the match. A clear foul in the box led to Marin Matoš scoring from the spot in the 33rd minute.
Both teams desperately tried to gain the advantage, but it was Slaven that came up on top. Once again, Vugrinec was there to score. His age does not show, but his skill does. Vugrinec stepped up to take a free kick in the 92nd minute of the match and sent the ball hurling past the keeper for the win.
“Football is the most interesting sport precisely because victory can go to any side. Congratulate my boys on the desire and dedication. Luckily we were now served in previous matches is not,” Slaven coach Roy Ferenčina said.
Though Ferenčina was pleased with the win, he did not agree with the referee’s desiccation to award penalty kicks in the match.
“The first two penalties, one for us and one for Cibalia were not penalties, but if the judge has already made up his mind before the match. If he called those, then he should also call the two situations in the second half, and in addition he should look at the situation in which the player holding our Maraš and prevent him from entering the box. Such judicial decision could completely change the game,” Ferencina said.
Ferenčina also called out the media on their criticism towards the team during their four match win less streak. He stated that Slaven is not Barcelona, and they are not the Croatian champions, and unlike Dinamo, they have normal fluctuations in play. Never has Slaven done so well after 12 weeks into the season.
Ferenčina is one of the most successful managers in Croatia. in 2009, he brought Lokomotiva to the Prva Liga, and ran a very successful campaign the next season, resulting in the Lokosi finished the season in eighth place in the first year in the top flight. He has also lead Slaven Belupo in their most successful campaign last year since 2007, finishing one point out of second place, and trying to top that spot this season.
Slaven is in second place in the league, seven points from first place. Attendance – 1,800
Slaven Belupo: Pelin, Barić, Kokalović, Grgić, Pilipović (od 61. Maras), Čanađija (od 82. Brlek), Gregurina, Delić, Glavica, Vugrinec, Bušić (od 63. Šaban).
Cibalia: Paradžiković, Muženjak (od 11. Terzić), Mitrović, Župarić, Rugašević, Mazalović, Terzić, Vitaić, Matoš (od 46. Bartolović), Mišić (od 85. Ćorić), Čulić.
NK OSIJEK 2 – 0 NK ZADAR
photo: tportal.prvaliga.hr/V.L.M
Osijek once again earns a clean sheet by blanking Zadar in the Garden City on Saturday.
There was no doubt as to who was the better team on the field. Goals by Domagoj Pušić and Miheal Pongračić ensured three more points for Osijek, who are vying for the top spot in the league.
Only four points separate second place from seventh place in the league. Anyone has a chance to grab the top of the table at the moment, with the league being the most competitive it has been in several seasons. Osijek is one of those teams who are very close to the top, with 21 points, one point out of second. This makes sure every game is important and nothing can be taken lightly.
Zadar has been struggling all season, sitting in relegation zone for the majority of the 12 weeks so far, but Osijek knew they had to play at their highest level to still achieve victory. Backed by 2,000 fans, they reached their goal of three points without any problems and assured their place at third on the table for another week.

Looks like Hajduk is laying of people 20 at a time – http://prvaliga.tportal.hr/221512/cistka-Hajduk-se-rjesava-15-zaposlenika.html#.UIVxjBgb1Mg

Actualy, the uprava Hajduk has now is OK. They are better than what was previously at the club, but they still lack and leadership qualities.
And the people running Split are even worse. Just look at these clowns. Two weeks ago the city council of Split, as majority shareholders of hajduk, refused to gaurantee the line of credit for Hajduk. Then the fans bitch, moan and protest and they change their mind. Way to be influenced by idiot kids who think their greatest goal in life is to root for Hajduk.
@ Ziva
Well said. It would be disappointing to see Hajduk drop so low, change names, shed it’s whole roster, etc. and like you said, start from scratch. But that uprava they have is toxic and just plain dumb, to boot.
If it weren’t for Volpi coming in and more or less saving Rijeka, Rijeka would of been or would currently be in a similar situation…
Štimac remeti planove HNS-u: Dovedite mi Srbiju u Split!

@Matija……Applaud the fans all you want. Those fans who came yesterday to Hajduk are fine, but they are not the smartest light bulbs in the world. They are the same clowns who demanded and protested against the city of Split council and mayor to guarantee a bank loan for Hajduk to keep operating. It’s just insane. I know the city is the biggest and largest shareholder of the club, but the city should not give one kuna to that club, none. They ant a governemtn bailout for a failure of a product. These Hajduk fans remind me of the lazy liberals in the USA who want government handouts everywhere.
The solution for Hajduk is quite simple, but the leadership in Split has no balls to do this: let the club fall apart and file officially for bankruptcy. At that point the team would be relegated to the 4th division and they could start over. But, that won’t ever happen because of the dumb leadership. And it sounds like some of you on this message board don’t understand that as well. Let me ask you this, would you be a co-signer on a business loan for a company that year in and year out continues to burn money and resources.
I’m the biggest Hajdukovac you will ever find, but this club is garbage and needs to hot rock bottom before it can rebuild.
Hajduk zivi vjecno sta bilo da bilo
Zoran Vulic= legenda
Does anyone know how the ownership structure of Hajduk works? Why has it been losing money for so long?
I would have though a win would be a gaurantee considering the atmosphere that was generated by hajduks supporters, big turn out by the fans, looks like the players need a bit of a wake up call ..
@Ziva
Spoken like a true Catholic, oh wait, I thought this website was about who is the biggest Croat? You Americans should just stick to NFL and Scientology, the world loves you all.
Anony. Our Hajduk lost today , what the hell? All this bad news is almost ready to drive me koo koo . I try not to listen to All this negativity beacause our team was , & could be Great ! Can’t we get rid of these bad apples running our team? Anyway at least the L.A. Galaxy tied today . Hell who am i fooling this was a F–ked up weekend for my teams! Please Stop this Maddness, & let’s Win ! Peace to all . Bog,Hrvati,i Hajduk !!!
Has nothing to do if they would have beaten dinamo or not. The guy is a clown for a few reasons:
1. Drawing a yellow on purpose to suspend yourself
2. Schedule a wedding during the season
3. Getting married in the first place. There is no reason for a pro athlete (if that is what we want to call hajduk players) to ever get married before the age of 30 or until he is done with career. Way to many jersey chases to pass up to be married. Hell, no male should ever get married before the age 30.
They would have won . Can him
@cico/Sime
how did Hajduk do today
Ziva – How could he say no to that lovely face? She panned it, and he accepted it because he probably got more on that night than in his whole life. Her and her jock-chasing bridesmaids. Well worth missing a game you were bound to lose anyway.
The reason he was suspended for the dinamo game is because he got a yellow card on purpose the week before so he would miss the game due to his wedding. He picked it up very late knowing it would be his third yellow of the season and an automatic suspension.
This clown is a “cacin sin”. Living off the name and reputation of his old man. what pro soccer player schedules a wedding on a Saturday during the season. No wonder hajduk is a joke. I would drop this clown.
I’m sure he planned the wedding months ago too. Back before he even played for Hajduk. Whatever. Wouldn’t have made a difference for hajduk anyway.
media overracting with Andrijasevic, as he was suspended for the Dinamo match anyway, even if he didn’t have a wedding he wouldn’t play
I guess you can question the timing of the wedding, but for me its an overraction but he was suspended anyway
Hahaha. Didn’t hear any booing towards him, but hey, I give him credit. He said he didn’t drink at his bachelor party or the wedding because he had training and that’s “what a sportsman does.”
@Anon – he got married on a game day and missed the match.
English , please
http://www.dalmacijanews.com/Nogomet/View/tabid/89/ID/100116/Hajduk-ce-kazniti-Franka-Andrijasevica.aspx
Ziva , what did he do?
i didn’t watch the hajduk game so can someone tell me if the fans were booing and jeering andrijasevic everytime he touched the ball for hajduk. that fool needs to be abused by the fans for his actions.
