Dear CSR Nation and Prva Generacija,
Thank you for supporting CroatianSoccerReport.com the past three years with your energy, comments, readership and clicks. CSR is a labor of love and we are happy to share it with you. We are in the process of redesigning CSR to offer more information, more opportunity for conversation and an even bigger sense of community.
Part of this redesign is our presence on Facebook. CSR has a profile and a group on Facebook, but has just recently added a ‘page’ which is the most correct property for CSR to present itself on the social network.
If you like what we do and want CSR to grow in 2011 and beyond, please help us achieve our goal of getting 1000 ‘likes’ on our new Facebook page.
Achieving this number will help CSR grow and achieve our goal of “Uniting Croatian Fans Around The World.”
Please visit our new Facebook page and please recommend to friends.
Thanks for an idea, you sparked at thought from a angle I hadn’t given thoguht to yet. Now lets see if I can do something with it.

Check it out everyone!!
Bring more shirts!
Diaspora = HDZ or right wing parties.
Domovina = more diverse in their political affiliation, political thinking.
When we do get into the discussion phase about politics, I am one of those that lumps the diaspora in with HDZ and the right wingers. I do this because it is true. Those hrvati living outside of Cro tend to view things a certain way (anti-yugo, apologetic to "hardcore" thinkting). Those who think otherwise in the diaspora are the minority, the stats show they are the minority.
@ Boris,
I understand what you're saying regarding Domovina v. Diaspora. However, there is a huge cultural divide between the two. That cannot be mistaken. It doesn't translate directly to soccer play, but it does in the grand scheme of things. D v. D and politics are very much present regarding Croatians today…
Solution to discuss all this….
FORUM on the new CSR. Should be fun and it will definitely segregate topics accordingly.
@Boris,
Excellent comment. I agree 100% on everything besides facebook. I am not that anti-facebook. The only reason I have facebook is for friends and family in Croatia and a few other countries around the world. Adding CSR people on facebook would be a huge step in "uniting Croatians around the world."
Bogut was out tonight with a virus. Bucks looking good. I caught the end of the Bucks-Heat game. Lebron s a bitch.
looking forward to CSR 2.0, but fuck facebook in the face. i understand some people love it (or obsess over it), but in my opinion, online social networking is gay. facebook makes it too easy for your facebook "friends" to annoy you with useless information or pics that you could give a shit about. yeah yeah…you can hide or ignore them…but then why the fuck are they your friend in the first place? plus, half the info posted on people's facebook pages is probably bullshit.
as far as CSR suggestions go, live chat during NT or CL (or europa league in the case of dinamo and hajduk) would be cool. as would streaming NT games live.
more interviews with cro sports personalities and media.
also, i've seen a pattern in some of the questions by some of the CSR interviewers where they say "the diaspora believes this or that"….as if the diaspora were all a bunch of drones or speak with one voice. it's important to remember the people that make up the diaspora have diverse opinions. there are as many opinions posted by people from diaspora on CSR as there are posters. croats are croats, regardless of where they live. and i think framing things as diaspora v domovina (which is often done on CSR) draws distinctions without any real differences. there's no real difference between diaspora and domovina croats when it comes to loving croatian soccer. now, i could see differences if this were a political blog, but it's a soccer blog.
in any case, i love the site. i'll keep posting my biased updates about bogut and the bucks.
@Zuti,
Yes, there will definitely be a forum.
Great ideas guys, keep them coming.
re the redesign….can you make it so that posters can create threads as opposed to now, where the discussion is based on the articles that are posted by the admin? ie a forum based on stuff outside of csr reports.
@Ante B,
Excellent idea. Navijacki korner = Fanzone today.
"We can also discuss politics there too "
hahahaha.. This is too much…
This will definitely be a separate page, how about "Ante B's Croatian Politics corner?"
@Mark,
We are out of the Bilic shirt. We are thinking about bringing this shirt back. Would you be interested?
Live Chat on New CSR should be up by late July. Just in time for the september qualifiers. That will be the final addition to CSR 2.0
I think Ante can confirm this, but the new site will have live chat on it, so that everyone can go at it during the games!!
Can't wait for the new site. FYI when I tried to purchase a Blic-T, there weren't options for size and color. So i didn't purchase it. Fix that.
You guys rock.
My suggestion would be to implement a Supporters Corner (Navijacki Kutak) where those of us who go to the games can talk about our experiences in Croatia and around Europe whether it be following Dinamo, Hajduk, the repka or another club. We can also discuss politics there too but it would devoted entirely to navijanje.
@Goldenchild,
Great comment. We are always open to new ideas. Tell us what works for you and what changes need to be made. As Ante and I keep saying, "this is OUR website." The prva and druga generacija and the rest of you out there have as much say as Ante and I on this website.
Yes, the poll will be better. Blogger didn't give us options.
Tell me a bit more about "HNL's full roster, and stats for players. "
@Nate,
Why do you hate facebook so much?
@Nepoznat,
good shit 🙂
@ all
in other words, if you see an ad that you like (or don't like) give it the ol "click".
@ TGC,
I agree. Let's here what you guys want. However, the new site is already being redesigned. We're not kidding around. We're not talking about doing a new redesign, we're just do ing it.
A new poll system will be part of the NEW CSR. Regarding HNL, that's a lot of work to keep up. Remember, there's only 3 guys working on CSR right now (myself, Svircic and Fistonic). Not to mention the Dinamo/Hajduk reports we get from Baricevic and Tom in Winnipeg. All without pay.
Labor of love baby, labor of love!
Why don't you guys ask the people what they want to see on the NEW CSR.
For one, I'd like to see the HNL's full roster, and stats for players. And I'd like to see you make a better poll, where I don't have to scroll to see the results.
I'm honored that CSR makes up 33% of your friends on FB. We must be doing something right if you're making exceptions for us. Appreciate it.
Sretna Nova Godina! Konacno, Ante B. is back after a long deserved hiatus!
Let this Prva Generacija be the first to thank you guys for running this site which definitely has found its niche in the dijaspora as well as the domovina.
Keep it up!
Bog i Hrvati
Za Dom Spremni
-Ante B.
@Nate
Whats wrong with you? are you stuck in the 20th century? just kidding
but seriously, whats wrong with facebook? and is it really easy to make a good social networking site? (or practical when probably over half of readers have one?)
and I have no comment about your # of friends
@Nate hahahahahaha….. does your sister click "like" on your pics
Damn it. Facebook is the worst. Can't you guys build your own Croatian/Diaspora social network instead? How hard can it be?
I swore I'd never add to my two FB friends, one is in Zagreb, the other is my sister. For CSR I'll make an exception.
done!
