23 year-old former Rijeka striker Andrej Kramarić netted his first English Premier League goal Tuesday night in London as his Leicester City side were defeated 2-1 by a much more complete Arsenal club. With Leicester down 2-0 in the 62nd minute, Kramarić found himself open inside the box after a failed clearance attempt to one-time the ball just inside the near post to beat Arsenal keeper David Ospina. It was a fine finish that showed composure for the maturing Croatian. And even though Leicester remain in the basement of the Premier League with the loss, the goal with only give confidence to their newly bought Croatian striker.
But more importantly for team Croatia, if Kramarić can build his resume in England and pair himself alongside Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandžukić in the next year, the Vateni can be a force to reckon with come Euro 2016 in France. Is it too early to buy in on the Kramarić hype?
I don’t think so.
Kramarić goal vs. Arsenal
Sretno Valentinovo…sjecam se ja sjecas se ti
@dannyj……but aloof use sporting events to conduct business. I need and require those items. Nothing wrong at all with the corporate fuck wads. Big corporations are huge employers and they use a lot of small businesses to support their products and products. So,nothing wrong with the corporate world.
I get what Ziva is saying though.
I hate watching games in the States because the crowd is lame and I’m paying extra on my ticket for crap I don’t need or care about (ie. HD Screens, WiFi, D-Fence teleprompter, etc).
At the same time, it’s a fucking pain in the ass sitting in Sjever at Poljud when you have a giant flag blocking half the game in front of you (or having an M80 blow up near you). Istok is mildly better. I’m glad that Zapad exists now that I’m getting older and less tolerant.
So, I advise that you never both to attend any lame North American games (and just watch those on TV) and use your money wisely in attending European matches, but just remember to sit in the non-hooligan sections (so you can sit down and actually see the game, but still enjoy a rabid atmosphere).
nah fuck it id be all into the non everything… i don’t need quality food, id be way too excited to watch “hrvatsko” play anyways
i tell ya what watching hockey while i was a kid and watching it live now completely different… now its just for corporate fuck wads who sit there on their phones and dion’t even watch it… hmm i see the connection now ziva;)
if someone can’t sit there for 2 hours and not be on the phone or have to eat then you have issues
Agreed…..artificial noise blows. Best way to enjoy a game in the suites or lounges where you don’t have to worry about people sitting up in front of you.
…And if you want to watch a quality sport, with hardcore fans who don’t just timidly sit there chanting D-Fence (or whatever else they are prompted to say), then buy yourself the football tickets and enjoy the actual game.
Just remember, you get what you pay for…….If you have never attended a mtach, then I encourage you to go.
Again, remember…………no HD board, no wifi, lack of quality food and beverage, no roof to be protected from the elements, dirty seats, lack of bathrooms, hercegovci in the crowd, etc.
I will gladly pay the extra money what Americans pay to watch sporting events. With it, you get a roof over your head in case it rains, HD board and replay screens, 4G wifi, huge selection of food (some actualy healthy) and import beers and craft beers, quality restrooms, comfortable seats and in some places they will seperate you from the questionable characters.
I’d get them straight from the HNS.
I’ve done it before and it’s pretty good. They had someone hand deliver them to me before the game. It was a good gesture considering we ordered them last minute and it was too late to have them mailed to us.
Prices won’t be too high anyway. It’s nothing compared to what Americans are used to paying for sports tickets.
you can get them cheaper from scalpers.
CroatHrvat,
Just mail the Croatian Soccer Federation. I did too and they replied immediately.
ulaznice@hns-cff.hr
Tickets will be available three or four weeks before the game.
Easy……via scalpers. Never an issue getting tickets for a home or away match.
Thinking about it, if I can get the funds together (should be less than £200 from London for the flights, one night stay and tickets for the game, right?) I may well go watch the guys play against Italy. But how does someone go about getting tickets from abroad for home, or for the matter, even the away games?

courtesy of neopoznat from xtra time
who is ziva on xtra time??? i don’t go there often but it does seem generally much more tame and soccer focused so its nice, but i know there are a couple ziva like characters on there if not mistaken
Ambroz Haračić planed the pine trees.
on the madrid sites they are claiming modric back in a month
Light on his toes with a soft touch. Would’ve been a perfect center foward in the mid 90s. Lewandowski type in the box. Too bad soccer has gone to the physical side now. The magic is fading! Enjoy it while it lasts!
Losinj/Lussinpiccolo is basically equally distant from Pula/Pola, Rijeka/Fiume and Zadar/Zara… interesting mix of the 3 best (imho but I am biased hehe) areas of Croatia (Kvarner, Istria & Dalmatia)
Actually Armada was right as Lussinpiccolo used to be in provincia di Pola even though it is in the gulf of Quarnero.
I heard some of this a few weeks back, but didn’t think anything of it because there were no media reports or leaks. Now, we have one. There is some speculation over Modric’s injury, his recovery and questions if he will fully recover.
http://sportske.jutarnji.hr/predvidanje-koje-ce-zgroziti-hrvatsku—luka–modric-vise-nikada-nece-biti-na-istoj-razini—–/1294040/
lol if I claimed Losinj was Istra
as Ziva would say “my parents have failed me”
moms side – otok Unije
dad ‘s side – Istra (between Labin, Rasa and Koromacno)
@Maminjo people can be from multiple parts of the country right? I think his mom’s side is Unije (otok just west of Losinj) and his father’s is Istria but my memory is crap so I’ll let him confirm
the point is he totally know what and where Losinj and Istria are 🙂
Hate to break it to you, Armada, but Lošinj ain’t Istra.
@ Jarac yes my otok has a dialect that is like half Italian and half Croatian, and I’m only 50% Croatian (father’s side). That plus taking 3 years of Italian in HS, 2 semesters in college and marrying an Italian (who before she had our kids was an Italian & Spanish teacher) means my Italian is decent to passable (especially present tense) vs my Croatian which is a few notches above non-existent
my grandparents were also Italian citizens and my grandfather was scooped up and dragged into Italian navy during WWII. Like Armada’s family mine escaped and were refugees in Trieste & then later Napoli before moving to Canada (USA was not accepting political refugees from Yugoslavia at the time) and finally to the US 10 years later after getting Canadian citizenship (I was born in US, but I also have Canadian citizenship)
and like Armada’s family my father’s side all speaks both Croatian & Italian… my father himself speaks 7 languages 6 with perfect fluence
@ Jarac
yeah man, both sides of my family left Istra in the 50’s and were refugees in Trieste for a while before coming to the US – therefore, everyone picked up the language (if they didn’t know it beforehand) and to this day, everyone in my family is trilingual
Too bad the Italy game won’t be in Split for a couple of reaons.
First, the atmposphere before the game and an eventual win would have been great to watch on TV.
Second, if the team shit the bed that day, the booing and insults from the crowd would have been great theater.
There was no way the savez was going to award this game to Split after jadan, mali i nemocan hajduk no-showed against Dinamo a few months ago.
I just feel for the fans who will watch this game in Maksimir now. I just dont know how people can sit and watch a sporting event knowing there is no HD board, no wifi, lack of quality food and beverage, no roof to be protected from the elements, dirty seats, lack of bathrooms. Even the suites suck in Maksimir, but at least they exit compared to Poljud.
Hej nepoznat and armada u guys really know italian?
Ziva, why haven’t you posted on XtraTime since November? please go reply to my private message before I out you
the pieces of the puzzle are beginning to fit together 😀

Croatia vs Italy in Zagreb. What a shocker. Smart on sukers part not to put it in split. Covering his own ass.

Who’s the dude that planted all the trees on Lošinj?
The island was bare, but today it has probably the most trees per square foot than any place in Cro.
@ Nepoznat
Great island with a great history and good, seafaring people. Think I mentioned this, but my mom’s side is from nearby Unije. Plan on using Losinj as our base of operations when the wife and I go for a visit next time, that way we can catch ferries to Dalmacija and still be close enough to venture into Istra and Trst potentially.
Armada I love the NK Losinj avatar! my direct descendant is the first mayor of Losinj (I want to say Veli even though basically everyone and all of my family now lives in Mali)
hvala Poglavnik for the Mandzukic link
http://www.espnfc.us/club/atletico-madrid/1068/blog/post/2295289/mario-mandzukic-is-the-catalyst-for-atleticos-stunning-rout-of-real-madrid
ok i know he is young and these are just clips but seems to be he should pass a little more at times??
i agree though the kid looks good
if he gets up to the A league this year and makes some waves he could be on the roster for euros no?
Sorry for the mistake.
My last post is a compilation of how Muric played in his games for Ajax B in the second Dutch League and some games in the youth Champions League. They love him in the Netherlands. He had some injury problems his first half year but he starts to impress. Ajax A is not so far anymore for him.
This is
http://youtu.be/wwAhhFX2i50
….need to add that of course Mandzukic is a beast and much better player right now, but, Perica is more technical at this age (19) with the ball than Mario was.
Muric being a skilled left-footed player with power and excellent field vision – a young Gheorghe Hagi/Hristo Stoichkov type.
Perica a skilled tall striker with an excellent touch and footwork much better than Mandzukic.- a young Edin Dzeko type.
Don’t have anyone quite like these two players – hopefully they keep getting better.
Krama has a killer fake shot, dare i say a la Zuti.
@ bobby V
I justed wanted you to explain, as I have seen little of both of them.
What’s their unique skill set? I’m not doubting you, i would just like you to elaborate.
Of all the young players Croatia has coming up, the two that intrigue me most for their unique skill set are Stipe Perica and Robert Muric.
Agreed. Watched him many times he’s all sizzle and no steak.
He will be an average striker at best. I would love for him to prove me wrong but I watched the guy miss the most easiest of chances time and time again. He’s not a natural, just my opinion.
agree with Antwerp, Greizmann is a great little player. really impressed me with the french team at the WC and seems to be key at Atletico.
Balaban 2.0 will be better than Balaban.

Croatia in Brazil should have looled like this but i hate the should of would of could of. But Kramric was and should have been on Repka sinve 2012. Subasic Srna Corluka Lovren/Vida Vrsaljko- Brozovic Modric-Perisic Rakitic Kramaric Mandzukic that team would have reach 1/16. This euro we need the right 23 called no pranjic sammir etc. Ola can stay but as a sub only. Subasic Kalinic Livakovic. Srna Vrsaljko Jedvaj Carli Lovren Vida Leovac Strinic Modric Brozovic Mocinic Kovacic Rakitic Perisic Halilovic Rebic Mandzukic Krama Olic Cop. And possibly Livaja Perica Leskovic Mitrovic Pasalic Kranjcar Badelj Tomecak Coric Pjaca Sharbini Radosevic Bradaric.
Krama better leave some space on his DVR to record Athletico games, because he should watch how Greizmann plays off Mandzukic. That’s the “blue-print” he should follow.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU6195Uj7MQ#t=50
here the full highlights
Krama gonna Krama
and by Krama I mean he’s going to keep on bagging goals
bravo Andrej!
Chelseas new Costa.
It is early, but I’ll buy into it with you. I can see him as a mid to upper tier goal scorer in the EPL (with a better team) just by watching his Rijeka highlight reel. Granted the prva liga is no EPL, he positions himself very well between the ball and the defender, setting himself up for crisp shots on goal. His composer is great and he seems to have two feet that can score. The great thing about his first EPL goal is that it was a one-timer. He is versatile too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h2k3E6S1eo
Now could he just do that another 70 or 80 times for Repka.
