What a weird week it has been for Croatians from the penalty spot. Modrić, Kovačić, Budimir all miss. What’s the deal?
On the bright side, Dominik Livaković saved 2/5 shots from the penalty spot for Fenerbahce Thursday night in a UEFA Conference League quarterfinals loss to Olympiakos. Not the result Fenerbahce were looking for but anytime your goalie can save 40% of the shots from the spot in a shootout, that never hurts.
Maybe Livaković is sharpening his blade going into Euro 2024 should Croatia end up tied after 120 minutes. He was near perfect in Qatar and looked good Thursday night versus Olympiakos. Looks like he should have saved the first kick as well. He definitely read the shots well on the night.
Opet, Livaković is in his prime now, still young but now with experience. His stars has aligned. Just need old stars to start shooting like usual, while new ones start to shine. The night is young, and it quite possibly is ours.
Amen brother
Livaković being in good form is far more important than how well guys like Kovačić and Budimir are taking PKs (they’d never be in our PK Lineup anyway).
100 percent maminjo
If we have an inform Livaković
I feel we may find enough scoring this time around to not have to go through all that extra time shenanigans
At least I am forever hopeful
