In his first match in a Liverpool uniform, Dejan Lovren headed home a Steven Gerrard corner kick in a 4-0 friendly win over Borussia Dortmund Sunday. With Liverpool up 1-0 at Anfield in the 14th minute, Lovren was left all alone in the box to set up the header as Liverpool players ran in following the corner. The Reds lost star player Luis Suarez in a summer transfer, but brought in their fair share of firepower, which included Lovren from Southampton. The Croatian defender will face his former club next weekend when the Premiership opens up the 2014-15 season.
Show us more son……….Show them all.Young kids take note.
Ziva again showing what a classless piece of crap he is.
@Horvat……..why not????? If I don’t know them, fair game to me in the internet world.
People who go to church should never make stupid jokes about people who take or attempt to take their lives.
Polish president of club Legia Warsaw sends letter to Celtic FC to reinstate his club our Polish Catholic Slavic cousins.
Ziva,if thats actually you and not the trained ape you keep, keep it up.That way the few that stick up for you can see what you are really made of.Even as a “shtick”its concerning stuff.Dont worry,if you are hitting rock bottom son.The diaspora is largely made up of good folk.We will help you rebuild. We will indeed ask the Gospa that you also show disrespect to by having things like the above mixed together,we will indeed ask for divine assistance for your troubled self my son.I will not speak a word of this to mama.
Is that you Bobo?? You cheeky monkey you!!
Friends, the news is in now…….apparently comedian Robin Williams has died today thanks to a successful suicide mission. I wonder if a certain wife of a former national team goal keeper was taking notes on how to do it correctly (if the rumors are true).
Also, Velika Gospa is a few days away. Remember, a true hrvat will be in church that day to celebrate the occasion. Do you have the “za dom……spremni” lifestyle or are you a fake hrvat?
Things that make you go Hmmmm……
Wow,I read Zivas comment and thought the kid is showing great respect to a recently passed great of the game in Beara. No jokes or insults!
Then it clicked…….Of course!!!!,Beara was born a ethnic Serb. All respects to the guy,I know how to respect someone like him if he deserves it,but funny how Ziva gives it to him without reserve.
In the next part of his comment,he of course ridicules Pletikosas wife again. The guy had a crapp WC last time and needs to go,but from Ziva, this is all we will hear about a good man and true Croat.”Nothing is off limits”he will say. “My arse”is what I say! Udba-esque manerisms from you yet again. If it looks like one, walks like one and you certainly quack like one, then you all know the rest.
“I live a Za dom spremni lifestyle”he will say.”My arse”says Ante.
Look out impressionable youngsters, dont let him sway you.He has a comedy shtick that takes a ill Udba-esque mindset at the very least to possibly want to display such vulgarities.Look out kids, let Ante be your guiding light!
I await your predictable response that either you or Bobo the trained basement monkey could come up with.
@ Ante B.
did not know that… thanks for the heads up
anyone know why Bobek stayed in Srbija?
Former repka player that didn’t get a shot at the world cup. I care.
Don’t act like your mother’s basement walls don’t have all your favorite players framed/signed jerseys. Also, we know your mother tucks you in every night with your favorite team’s bed sheets in your car bed.
Dinamo signed 20 yr old Chilean striker Angel Henriquez. He’s been loaned out to 2 other teams with little playing time, but he was able to rack up 7 goals in 29 apps. Could be a great young talent for Dinamo’s attack.
Most -ek last names, if not all, are Purgeri who come from Slovenija from many, many moons ago
Vukas is a pretty popular Croat last name in the north. I’ve met quite a few people with that surname.
Čajkovski, not so much. Probably some Makedonski lineage there.
Bobek is a full blown Purger.
It’s awesome because Bobek and Prosinečki are both voted as the greatest players in Partizan and Crvena Zvezda’s history. Both being Croats, I’m sure that must be something many over there would like to block from their memory, lol.
Armada…thats a good question?!
Were guys like Bobek, Cajkovski and Vukas ethnic Croats? From the name alone, I’m guessing Cajkovski is a Makedonac and I’m not sure about Bobek since he spent all that time in Serbia.
nope…….our fathers knew better. So hard to imagine how so many children have failed.
my dad always had a list of names he rambled off when he spoke of Croatian soccer players… Beara…Vukas, Bobek, Zebec…Cop??? all I can really remember!
BTW- my dad never had a jersey of anybody…did any of our dads collect jerseys?
only those jock sniffers who have his jersey.
who really cares about Dudu now? anyone?
Dudu scored this weekend also.
Plus, he had a wife who didn’t try to “out” herself. That is always good.
I know you’re busting balls but and while he was ethnically Serb, he was born in Sinj and lived most of his life in Croatia, played at Hajduk for most of his career and then went onto coach of number of Croatian teams once he retired.
He’s one of us in my book.
In terms of our players pre-91 and post-91, he’s our best keeper by a landslide.
Well, since he played for a cro club, he gets recognition.
I’m just wondering if he was dead after watching Pletikosa in brazil. That would have killed any former goalie.
But how is celebrating Beara during the Yugo era a celebration of Cro accomplishments if the dude is ethnically Serbian?
He scored in a friendly, who cares.
Let me know when he does something productive during a key game when the pressure mounts.
I hope he doesn’t have performance anxiety, I never do.
RIP Vladimir Beara – my family isn’t a bunch of super Hrvati, but if you follow nogomet and read about our history, he’s one of our top 5 greatest players ever
I’ve given up on Rakitic for the NT… All the best to him in his club career, but I just don’t see him excelling for us. Our midfield is only getting more and more crowded in the next few years and if he hasn’t found a way to gel into the team now, when is he ever? I know Ivan will still be a part of the team and I’m sure still start for the foreseeable future…
I just never see him bringing his club success to the NT, it’ll always be a “one day…. one day rakitic will do great for us”
Well hopefully he can finally figure out how to play on the repka the way he does at the club level. Same goes for modric, lovren, etc.
Are we going to really dissect every Rakitic game now, even the friendlies? We know he will do well at Barca. We need him to do well with the repka.
Rakitic with two assists and a few great attempts on goal. Solid game from him.
A legend has died in Beara. For those of you who never heard of him, I can only blame your parents. You must have grown up in a house that didn’t celebrate Hrvatsvo during the Jugo era and ignored all cro accomplishments. You must have been non-hrvati prior to 1991.
Also, one more thought regarding Beara……are we sure he didn’t die during the World Cup after watching Pletikosa’s exploits in goal and his death is only being reported now. That would make sense to me.
Mandzo taking penalties now
Euro Qualifiers Line up I hope to see:
I heard Lovern scored at the pool party to.
@Soul champ-Although below par performances by some of our stars recently were extremely frustrating,I totally agree with your point that we should respect what the clubs are able to extract from our players under quite dif circumstances. Its a bit simplistic to just be mad at them for not doing enough for the NT.
Need to set up our class players to be successful for the repka.
Lovren needs Athletic running mate to play high line with him who has ability to recover with speed. Ćorluka’s slowness is too high mantenance at this point. Also need to have a goalie who can move a centimeter or two to support high line as well.
Rakitic has been the most missed used player for the last 5 years on the repka. Set him up to express his qualities or don’t put him the squad. How ever Barca brings out his best we should honor.
The main point is that these two are now field generals and need to have captain like responsibilities for the team.
Srna has gotten a pass for the last 4 years. But in soccer the arm band is a big deal and he has not delivered.
Full respect to his service and his over all play but it is time to step down as captain. For his sake he should focus on his club career as well. His quality is still there and could always give a good 45 minutes for another two years but his starting days are over.
Modric , Rakitic and Lovren are our top 3 candidates.
Kovač has to address this ASAP and then create system/tactics that work around the new captain.
Kovačić _____Modric_________Rakitic ____Halilovic
Subs – every 25u player.
No surprises really.. The only suprise is Lovren is continually overlooked for euro footballer of the year when he is CLEARLY superior to messi et al
UEFA Champions League Corruption strikes again UEFA wants Celtic FC to make the Champions League instead of not so famous Polish Club. All about the tv ratings all about the money. The fix is in.
A Hajduk legend passed away last night.
just one header like that against mexico in the first half…….. jebi ga im still bitter
i hate to sound like ziva but seriously raktic playing well lovren scoring… why the fuck can’t they do this when matters…
i sure hope some changes are made.. we have the talent there is no doubt
Ohh sinko! I knew this would be up soon enough.Sometimes I realise that you are a pretty clever kid and you will mature someday and on other days I realise why mama only buys you velcro type shoes without laces which would seem too challenging.
Stay in the gutter less often, rise above it and do your good stuff and tata will get you a pair of lace up shoes-I promise.
good thing Dortmund didn’t find out what happens when you leave Lovren alone poolside. They may have really gotten it up the ass instead of a 4-0 scoreline.
Dortmund found out the hard way what happens when you leave Lovren alone in the Box, lol.
