Two weeks before the Bundesliga resumes its season following the winter break, Mario Mandžukić and Bayern Munich found themselves in Doha, Qatar, playing fellow German club Schalke 04 in a friendly Tuesday night. ‘Super’ Mario received the start and followed up Thomas Müller’s two goals in the first half with two of his own. In the 33rd minute, Franck Ribery slipped a perfect ball into the box for Mandžukić, who remained onside, and cooly placed the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs to make it 3-0 Bayern.
Ten minutes later, Mandžukić made a run into the box and was played a ball from the end line. From the penalty spot, Mandza one-timed home into the far corner of the net to make it 4-0 and complete his first half double in the 5-0 friendly win.
Although it was just a friendly, Mandžukić is showing his worth after starting the season hot in Germany. He currently sits on nine Bundesliga goals which is good enough for a fifth place tie, three behind leader Stefan Kiessling. With Bayern still involved in Champions League (Feb. 19th vs. Arsenal) and the DFB Pokal (Feb. 27th vs. Borussia Dortmund), Mandžukić will have more than enough games to impress, even with the other ‘Super Mario’ (Gomez) back to full health.
Should we expect an identical performance by Mandžukić for Bayern in 2013?

Hrgota looks like he has some potential.
And Hrgota with the equalizer.
Badelj with a couple of goals today in the first half against monchengladbach.
happy to see Mario find the back of the net, but let’s keep this in perspective…
It’s a friendly game in Qatar. I want to see Mario resume his scoring ways in league games when it counts.
Menadžeri ponudili Mamićima čak 30 stopera, Gordon Schildenfeld odlazi u grčki PAOK!
