Petro’s choice in women was not the reason for his death. Petro’s choice not to wear a seat belt was the reason for his death.
Although…. it would have been nice to have heard this cunt’s version of the events of the accident.
“Cheap slave labour”
Lol. Thank you Ivica for the dumbest commentary. Great laugh to the new year. That was funny.
Ziva is correct and sums it up.
cheap slave labour is laughabel and just an excuse used by the lazy and unfulled one, easy to blame others
I never met a person a who struggled and had a strong work ethic. If you are willing to work, you will be ok.
i can see every side of the story…
i am self employed, moderately successful… i don’t kill myself to work and make a decent wage.
i own my own cleaning business i started many moons ago… i have been bigger in the past. why was it so hard to get big and stay that way… work force
why is it so easy for the east indian company next to me to get big and stay big… exact same answer work force. there’s is cheap and easy for them to attain, for me not so easy
of course every business is different. i don’t shit about a lot of politics but the mother fuckers that get rich have cheap labour
i have a chinese buddy… he can pretty well take anything from here send it to his family in china with sweat shop workers, copy it and make it for a butt load cheaper… how does he get rich… cheap as fuck employees… simple equation
so i tend to agree with the poster who talked about cheap labour force… i am canadian i know a little about the states from the stuff i hear… sounds like many are bitching about the migrant workers coming to take the jobs… but it seems like america is able to compete these days cause of its cheaper and cheaper labour force
what happened to all those strong american car unions and such? what happened to detroit? correct me if im wrong but much production went to cheaper places with cheaper labour and robots and such…
but i will say this… who will work the shitty jobs? the people with no money… my parents worked all sorts of shit jobs coming over from cro… but still i see a lot of people over there who aren’t willing to work like a migrant worker
We also invented missionary, you’re welcome.
@axe
Well done. Excellent rebuttal to that idiotic post by Ivica. I’m still shaking my head to his ” cheap slave labour”. LOL.
Axe, nailed it.
@ ivica
america has an incredibly low unemployment rate for such a developed country. 5.9%. compare this with socialist europe.
america is truly a country of amazement for its capitalist system. and its people are overwhelmingly not working slave labor jobs
marvel at the greatness of the american economy. believe in it. do not alter it
oh by the way, we also just brought you $2.50 per gallon gasoline bitches
yea that’s right. capitalism. innovation. got you that black gold 1000’s of feet below the ground for a lower price than bottled water
so much for the talk of big oil ripping off the american public. how about a thank you for them
@Slavonac
Not that many. A little over 100,000 according to Wikipedia.
But unlike most other western countries, Germany opted to focus on a select few regional countries in their gasterbeiter program (instead of the Far East) with most of their cheap labor coming from Turkey.
There is over 1.5 million Turkish-born workers in Germany today.
But their foreign worker program has since expanded from the old days, and there are significant amounts of cheap foreign labor coming in from many other Arab states and India. That 100K Chinese numbers are probably recent migrants as well.
It’s very easy to start a business when you’re guaranteed a ton of people willing to work for minimum wage or less (especially if you pay cash and keep it off the books). This is a necessity in many industries in the West.
@ Ziva
Typical Ziva cop out. Expected nonetheless.
You gotta keep your gaggle of followers guessing on here, right?
IvicaA- how many chinamen are there in Germany?
Wait a minute, I thought I was from the fortified basement.
Yes, I run. I follow the lead and examples of the locals and run.
@ IvicA
There’s no shame in doin’ a little extra work in the Polje to pay the bills.
@axe body spray
So…people are unemployed in the West because they are too productive to take on low quality jobs.
Got it. Thanks.
@ Ziva
this beckons the following questions:
in your personal life, when shit hits the fan, do you run like the people of Zadar did?
do you hit the road when shit gets ugly?
you flee and do not fight?
why did you marry a chick from Hercegovina?
are you trying to get in with the mafija from there?
does she have connections to Mamic/Suker/Kovac?
are you a Lebron/Manziel fanboy?
were you at Manziel’s house party where everyone got hammered?
will the Browns win a Super Bowl in our lifetimes?
@ ivica
that is one of the stupidest commentaries i have ever read
american quality of life and work quality of life has continued to dramatically improve of the years by free market forces
the economic opportunity is so good in the US b/c of it’s market based system and the productivity it creates that it is no longer feasible for to employ americans doing previous low wage work
we can’t get people to take factory work anymore which is wh yit gets exported to lower wage countries like china. the reason being is that the american system has made workers so productive, it doesn’t makes sense for them to do such low quality jobs
We can all chirp all day about what it takes to make Croatia a strong economy and use western countries like the US, Canada, UK, France, etc as prime examples…but the economy is strong here for the very reason why WE are all here. Cheap slave labour.
All these western countries’ economies are held up entirely on slave labour. Once slavery was abolished, they got creative and still have some form of it that exists. You have temporary foreign workers, guest resident status, gasterbeiters, etc. Whether they are here illegally or not, the entire economy really relies on taking advantage or poor people from third world countries, who are willing to work hard jobs for minimum wage.
I’ve never seen a taxi driver who wasn’t from India, the Middle East, or Bangladesh. I’ve never seen a janitor that wasn’t from Central or South America. Yet in Croatia, these jobs are occupied by Croats who were born and raised in the same environment as all of us. Of course they’re going to make wage demands. But if they were raised in a country where they were being persecuted, starving, and dying from diseases that should have been extinct a long time ago, they would be more than happy to simply work away for minimum wage (or in many cases well below that amount) just to get away where they are from.
As much as Croatians complain about being poor, they are not “India poor”. Like one of the above posters said, “get a few chinese in there and they will show you how its done and get some fire up some of their lazy asses”.
Why Chinese? Because there are many poor and hungry Chinese people in China who would love to toil away in Croatia for minimum wage to simply get away from their current surroundings.
This is why I rarely get into discussions about how to improve the economy to get it on par with Western countries. In the West, we have an opportunistic and unsustainable system that the economy entirely hinges itself on. We can talk all day about improving our economy with tax rates, government regulation, grants and credits….but ultimately, it all comes down to acquiring cheap labour for our businesses to thrive on.
@ notmy
you beat me to it. i was going to start reveal details one by one of the “mysterious” ziva. i suppose you got the jump start. i’ll continue to reveal a few more along the way. once again, the guy is nothing to be impressed by
@ Ziva
You married one, are from Cleveland and have roots from the Zadar area?
those are 3 very big strikes on you and explains a lot of things…………….
And Ziva’s identity is revealed
If Ziva didn’t think Hercegovci were the best he probably wouldn’t have married one. And he probably wouldn’t have hung out with them while growing up in the mistake by the lake, despite his bijezigrad roots. 😉
@ Ziva
I thought Hercegovici were the best Croats you can find?
I mean, Machine Gun Thompson told me “Herceg-Bosno, srce ponosno” and after using Google Translate and asking my Dida what it means and telling me about Hercegovina, it sounds like Hercegovici are the best thing since sliced bread!
@ soul champ
you are spot on with hezonja though
the kid looks like the real deal. some truly elite athleticism makes his game built for the nba and a chance for him to be a very legit player
similar story with dragan bender. really interesting prospect. 6’11” 17 yr old with some guard skills. like hezonja, he makes the rim look low (check out clips)
http://www.tportal.hr/sport/kosarka/364312/Toni-Kukoc-dobio-nasljednika-ovako-igra-Dragan-Bender.html
arguably the 3 or the 4 best european basketball prospects right now are all croatian : dario saric, hezonja, and bender
@ jm
Valid points.
“Pure capitalism” was in the context of a mindset where everyone is out for self regardless of the impact on the community.
Free market systems work when a critical mass of people can participate within them.
Other wise it is really an aristocratic system guised as a “free.”
@ soul champ
“Pure Capitalism is a Soul sucking system that Croatia was not ready for. Socialism was a Soul stunting system. ”
pure capitalism!? hah! post yugo cro was/is anything but pure capitalist. first the state was robbed blind of its assets like most post-communist states
now croatia is just social europe but twice as bad. too much regulation. too much tax
the equation is simple: lower the taxes, lower the regulation, lower the government spending. this is the equation of estonia, ireland, america, singapore, hong kong, chile….really any economically successful country
free market capitalism is the ONLY path to prosperity
Not sure about “American,” but Hrvati definitely are invested in looking capitalistic cool when they are actually broke and it definitely effects their work habits. Maybe they seek more LA Hollywood, but not NYC competitive or work ethic Mid-West.
2.5% have money
13.5% busting their ass to get it
34% pretend to have money
34% pretend not to need money
16% no concept of money
It is that first 34% that pretend to have money that needs to shift.
Within this early market group we need to identify a niche market. Maybe young Sincic type folks who have a vision for themselves and Croatia.
There is a symbiosis between the land and the people in Croatia. At present It is the people that need cultivation first as they have lost their way.
Pure Capitalism is a Soul sucking system that Croatia was not ready for. Socialism was a Soul stunting system.
Need a new system that champions the individual within a greater collective.
Communalism is where personal accountability meets collective responsibility.
It will take each and every Hrvat in and out of Croatia to access the power of the Soul Champion within to make a positive shift in our community.
It will start with a distinct demographic within our community.
It may look like an out the box group that you may not associate has a traditional demographic.
The movement will be organic from the people. Definitely not right or left within any of our existing Mickey mouse parties.
cro antwerp… thanks for agreeing, you know what im talking about
like i said get a chinese in that land and see what they do
others can collect their welfare checks
i was anonymous… i am not saying that is going to save the country but people bitch cause no money or no food, guess what there is land to farm… my point is that… it starts somewhere
i butcher the language just as good as the next one but guess what fucktard ziva i still care about the country…
don’t want to see it turn into a whole lot of oh poor me homeless guy at the traffic light who is perfectly capable of at least labour work…
sorry shit don’t fly with me… i have been giving opportunities in my life but without effort nothing happens
http://m.slobodnadalmacija.hr/tabid/296/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/269415/Default.aspx
@ IvicA
Anonmyous is actually right. I go back to Croatia every summer. And I always give my relatives an extra hand in the fields. So I know.
My uncle and cousins, apart from their day jobs, tend to olive groves, grapes, and livestock etc on our familial land. They produce homemade wine and olive oil. Which they sell bringing in extra much needed income.
More people should be doing this. You can even sell this stuff for good prices to tourists. But no, people don’t want to do it because it’s not cool.
I don’t know about any of you. But I’m going back to Stari Kraj to retire. And I’ll do some farming and fishing, just like my ancestors did.
Yeah, no kidding. You go back and pick olives.
Diaspora hrvati need to learn the language first, then go back and tell the locals in grammatically correct sentences what they should do for a living.
And if you think picking figs and olives is going to save the country, well you are kidding yourself.
This is what happens to the country when we let hercegovci rule Zagreb. We can’t have nice things, we don’t deserve them.
Here’s an idea…
Why don’t YOU go there and pick those figs and olives?
I find it hilarious when diaspora Croats keep whining about what Croatians in Croatia should be doing, but none of them would ever go back and do it themselves.
i forget who said croats have to live off the land again
fucking exactly. when i was there in the summer what i saw were more grocery stores and so many empty fields that were once farmed by the old generation….
i left my old man some bucks now to clean out the well and get a nice pump and we going to get that rocking now, nice home grown stuff can’t beat it
but like all those unpicked figs and olive oil that could be marketed in north america…. seems like much of it just goes to waste
like i said get a few chinese in there and they will show you how its done and get some fire up some of their lazy asses
there are more things im sure that can be done there, but everyone just seems more preoccupied trying to be american then to worry about being croatian from what i can see
Let’s just hope he doesn’t have the same tendency add Petrovic in selecting women. Petrovic’s poor choice in the opposite sex lead to his death.
Mario Hezonja

First Kosarkas stud in 20 years.
I pray he cultivates his soul champion like Dražen Petrović.
6’8″ shooting guard.
Cro hoops are back in effect.
Dragan Bender is next down the pike.
Need a real Croatian point guard.
Latest on Kramaric..

@ante
Good posts. You always know your stuff and are bang on.
If Mexico attacked the U.S. and did what the Serbs did I guarantee you’d never see a Spanish word on any sign anywhere in TX, AZ, CA, NM, FL…
^ ^
I don’t think it’s as black and white as you make it.
Displaying a minority groups alphabet on signs is too much for me though.
And in some places, lets say 30 years ago in southwestern Hercegovina, we were not a minority yet had no rights.
Different places, different situations.
riddle me this one…….
diaspora hrvati are against serbs having minority rights in Cro; wasn’t that whole debate against the cyrillic alphabet in Vukovar and parts of Cro about denying their right to the alphabet. I agreed with not allowing it, but it is a clear violation of cro rights for minorities.
In the US, you would be for it to have an ethnic group have minority rights.
So, you have a change of ideology because it benefits you?
So, you are a right-wing conservative? Good, we need more like you.
@Ziva
Nothing wrong with that.
I’ll always support the parties that have me, my family and my communities best interests at heart.
Poglavnik- left up here?
See, I always viewed as a hypocritical stance when dealing wih diaspora hrvati who are left leaning in the US. Then again most people don’t stick to their ideology when it impacts them. They abandon what they believe.
Excellent question Bobby V!
I don’t think it’s too hypocritical.
Different situations pertain to different ideologies.
I’m definitely a hard leaning lefty up here in Canada.
Fuck Harper and his one percenters!
That 24-year old should run for the Parliamentary elections next year. He’s got some steam and popularity from this presidential election. He could snag some seats.
@Ante
The urban areas did vote in favor of Josipovic, but the zupanije voted for Kitarovic.
Overall, Dalmacija voted in favor of Kitarovic and that number will increase since Kujundzic is out, so all those north of Biokovo who voted for him will vote Kitarovic in this runoff. All those in Istra who voted for Sincic (who came 2nd there) will likely vote Josipovic.
It will be interesting to see who wins.
Just a question I’ve been meaning to ask for awhile. For those of you who live in the USA, who consider yourselves to be Croatian nationalists – Right Wingers – HDZ ……
Do you consider yourselves to be Democrats or even liberal Democrats when it comes to American politics?
Maybe mainly because your parents/grandparents were recent immigrants which many chose to become affilated with the Democratic Party for obvious reasons?
Is this Far Right Croat/Far Left American position hypocritical?
@Ante B,
Bravo Sibenik!
Who did you vote for?
I’m surprised that young 24 year old got all those votes. Imagine a 24-year-old running Croatia? Well, he wouldn’t run it but you know what I mean.
Zagreb, Zadar, Rijeka, Dubrovnik and Split went red
Sibenik, Gospic, Osijek and Vukovar did not.
Rijeka needs to invest in the youth ranks and should be in the midst of finding a replacement for Kramaric so they can at least make the 2nd half of the season semi-interesting
@ Ziva
Stick to topics you can at least pretend to have any direct experience with.
@ Armada
That is money question Brate.
Rijeka needs to be invested in as the cosmopolitan city that it is.
She appears more like a girl who would let you explode on her chest than backdooring her.
Second question: Do you take it up the ass?
Grabar-Kitarovic’s english is very good (did some schooling in the US and studied English at ZG)
maybe she can do an interview for us so all the big time Hrvati here in NA can understand her?
first question: Do you support Rijeka?
Croatia has a negative birth rate. There are to many old people collecting pensions. We can have a few venture capitalist start businesses but we do not have workers. The only other option is to import third world Africans and Muslims. Who whats that? Western Europe has had enought of them and it has caused massive crime and disorder. No! We need to go back to living off the land. Teach the younger kids that are left to farm and leave the pipe dreams aside. Blood and Soil my brothers.
Incredible now you idiots are talking about Sincic and his vision for Croatia.
Bum and Slavonac you love to bring up your yugo crap. Keep up your bullshit boys. Bum Sramota on you.
Šimunić je svjetski čovjek !
He was inspired to uplift the crowd that had been depressed by the sad state of affairs in Croatia.
@ Jure
We definitely need prosperity and jobs in Croatia. Save the pan slav rhetoric as that is also an opiate for the people.
The work we need to do as Croatians is 3-4 levels deeper than any issues we have with our Serbian neighbors.
It starts with dropping the pretense that being Veliki Hrvat as anything to do with any service to the Croatian people.
We need to raise a new generation of Croatian citizens that value who they are and naturally want to share that with their famlies, neighbors, local communities etc…
Then we will start to have meaningful collaborative efforts toward a prosperous society within the Croatian Nation.
The Serbs failed in their attempt to add us to their Greater Serbia.
They used the seductions of communism to control us. They failed. We were forced to live in that backward Yugoslavia which failed because communism doesn’t work and it will never work.
Tudjman is one of the greatest Croats ever.
prle
ti si veliki smece!
steta na svoju obitelj!
spot on ivan
what most of the posters here don’t recognize is how they have been played like puppets by the previous warmongering croatian regime lead by tudjman
who got wealthy off the war? was it the people?…no
it was tudjman and the 200 families
the general populace was given the opium of nationalism to replace the need for jobs and prosperity
http://www.index.hr/sport/clanak/simunic-ja-i-ustase-to-je-potpuna-budalastina-ja-sam-svjetski-covjek/792360.aspx
Suspension Joey still trying to clear his name.
Sinčić represents hope for the future of the Croatian people.
Love to see Rijeka invest all there share of Kramaric transfer sale into building a world class youth academy that rivals Dinamo.
New Stadion na Kantridu. WOW.
@ Ivan
Unfortunately, no Serb, whether they read or write Cyrillic or not would have sided with Croatia when Jugoslav army (Serbs) tanks (paid for by Croatians) came rolling into Vukovar. Hence you had missiles firing from Krajina (Serb refuge given by Croatians) into Zageb.
At present Croatians need to focus on aligning on a new vision for our nation.
Innovation needs to come to the forefront. Stale Stari thinking is not gonna win the day.
I am more interested in laws that relax tax restrictions on community based non-profits that make a positive difference for the Croatian people.
@Ivan
Sorry to dissapoint you but Croatia will never be colonized by Serbs again.
jure has it right
if you go back to pre- 1990 in cultural cities like zagreb there were very large serb populations co-existing peacefully with croatians
it was tudjman that fanned the flames of war through several uneccessarily provocative acts such as replacing many of the serbian positions in government or the police with croats
and then another key example is tudjman trying to eradicate the cyrillic alphabet. cyrillic wasn’t even used by serbs in the croat regions! if you asked someone in serbia krajina to write something in cyrillic they couldn’t! they had already been largely adapted to cro society. instead though tudjman just wanted to antogonize them
the reason of course being so that him and his buddies could steal power
Another shrewd piece of business from Mamic.
In some respects the man impresses me…
From Goal.com below.
Looks like Chelsea is trying to finally secure Kramaric, and for some reason Balaban is involved, lol. There might be a friendly between Chelsea and Rijeka when the new Kantrida is unveiled in 2016.
Of course, Mamic is going to get his, and received 60% of the transfer fee, lol.
“Chelsea representatives were in Croatia on Saturday to meet with the player’s father and agent, Joza, as well as a Rijeka delegation including former Aston Villa striker Bosko Balaban.
A fee of a £7.8m has been proposed, with the Croatian side set to receive just over £3m as Dinamo Zagreb, Kramaric’s former club, are due between 50 and 60 per cent of the total fee thanks to a clause in the 2013 transfer.
A friendly between the two clubs at Rijeka’s new stadium, expected to open in 2016, is thought to form part of the proposal.”
Exactly Ziva, just WTF is Jure talking about. Dude’s been hitting the vaporizer one too many times tonite.
@jure……WTF are you talking about.
I didn’t pay any attention to the commercials and endorsements this election cycle, did HDZ get athletes and singers to come out for them this time, as they have in the past. I always found that funny. For example Kum Kovac with HDZ a few years ago. Then again, it does confirm my pint that most people are jock sniffers and would be influenced by such moves.
Sincic is good.
He surprisingly came in third with 17% of the vote, despite not putting any money toward the campaign, having zero sponsorship, and being shut out by the media. Seems like a very educated and smart kid. They labelled him as a Euroskeptic populist, but that`s not what he is.
Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic doesn`t come off as intelligent when she`s in front of the camera, and there were a lot of parody videos going around that highlighted that. Josipovic is a lot more composed and comes off as a lot smarter. Simple things like this is what wins you elections. HDZ screwed up by putting her forward for the nomination. They could`ve won this easily had they put forward a better candidate.
But, considering the fact that the polls had Josipovic in the mid-40s and Kolinda in the low-30s shows how unpopular the SDP has become. They`re both in the 38 and 37 percent range.
This especially doesn`t bode well for Josipovic considering that the 6% that voted for Kujundzic (who finished fourth) are generally right wingers who will likely vote Kolinda in the run-off. It will all come down to who those 17% that voted for Sincic will vote. He chose not to support either one in the run-off (I don`t blame him).
But all this talk is really for nothing, as the presidential position is largely ceremonial and pretty much means nothing. The Prime Minister elections in 2015 will be much more impactful and important. Again, the HDZ decided to not go with someone fresh and just went with Karamarko. We`ll see what he has to say and how intelligent he sounds in front of a camera. Hopefully another Sincic candidate decides to run. At least there may be hope for the future other than this SDP vs HDZ nonsense.
Jute- I totally disagree with you!
Long before the war started Milosevic began with his politics and showing his true nationalism…you should know this!
I’m not going to explain all of this Jure, there were tons of examples that led up to people beginning to see the writing on the wall!
I think it’s time for a change. And to give youth a chance. Sincic has a vision for Croatia. While Kolinda and Josipovic are nothing more than the old guard looking to perpetuate the dystopia in Croatia.
@ slavonac
the people have come to see the lies, propagated by tudjman, the cro-srb war was based on. ultimately, promoting nationalism was a way for tudjman and his cronies to get the populace to back a war they didn’t need which would open up the opportunity for tudjman and crew to steal the states assets and become rich. the cro-serb relationship was largely peaceful prior to the war
What do you guys think of the young hipster candidate Ivan Sincic? He’s the dude with the long hair and started a political party called Zivi Zid.
Places like Zapresic and Zadar voting for Josipovic.
I hope this link works…very interesting to see the differences in voting from Vukovar to Borovo and the rest of the region:
http://www.izbori.hr//106pre/rezult/1/rezultati.m.html
Friends who is better at their current jobs:
A. Josipovic as president
B. the life coach for Pletikosa’s wife
C. Kranjcar’s fitness coach
D. STD Corluka’s doctor
E. Rakitic’s stylist
F. Croatian language school teachers in the USA for diaspora hrvati.
What say you cro sports nation. All of these are tough ones and I am afraid there is no clear winner
Ni- take your medication!
@ NI Majmune jedan thats how it goes in croatia how the fuck did ivo get that many votes too many fucken liberals in this world i hate liberals fucken gay fagots saying shit like in usa black lives mateer and serbs are repressed fuck off Right Conservative all the way kreten ja partizan mter ti je jebala partizane dok je tata ti bjeza iz hrvatske mrs
Bum maybe your family is partizani but don’t tell me everyone else is as well. just silly. Slavonac if you want the commie to stay in power well you should know better. Time for a change.
Bum- I guess that about sums it up!!!
Some of the verses were hilarious!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeI8iMdnldw
FOr all us who understand croatian!
It also makes me think twice before I engage in many of the CroSports discussions/arguments. Why waste my time and energy focussing on why there is so much corruption all over when I know it won’t change?
So many of us diaspora are perceived as hard core right wing from resident Croats, I find I may have an opinion that isn’t ad welcome as it was 15 or 20 years ago! They obviously have the power to change and progress as a country but far to many corrupt people take advantage!
HDZ can lose today because of their bad decisions over 5 years ago. People don’t believe anyone anymore so they vote for the same…no change better than the unknown.
In Croatia you cannot go agianst the hand that feeds you and your wife dido was a partizan tata was a partizan whats the son gonna be a ustasa i think not thats why croatia is going nowhere in the world!
Agreed…….the country needs another war just to teach them some common sense (although to be fair, I am sure the people of Bjezigrad would run from this imaginary war as well).
There is no productive alternative in cro. You get to go with the lesser of two evils.
Yes I know but this gives you a picture of how people vote and what they want for Croatia going forward.
No change is the forecast!
To be fair, this is a bad result for Josipovic. He and all of his people were expecting to win the first round by a much wider result. I do t think they thought the would get the 50% plus one mandate, but they sure were not expecting to win by less than 1.5%.
I just wish more people lived and voted for a “za dom…..spremni” lifestyle that I advocate for every day.
Doesn’t matter anyway. The presidency in Cro holds no power. He is head of state, not the head of government.
That said, I hope josipovic loses in two weeks. I still think he will win. The results are a good read to see how the country votes rural vs urban areas.
These votes offer people here a clearer picture that change in Croatia is not happening. So many argue about the udbasi controlling the government, communist control, the same people that promised a better economy and change have done nothing but offer glimpses of pre 1991 communism and Pro Yugo philosophy government.
This, the fact that criminals run the HNS, Mamic pulling the strings….all make me care less about fighting with people over politics and history. They won’t help themselves, how can I do anything except offer empty words that won’t change a thing myself…nor will anybody else’s!
it looks like Josipovic had the edge going into the January 11th election….5 more years of nothing!
Not so sure. Hopefully that commie Josipovic might be gone. Very close result.
Jebem mater SDPU i KOMUNISTIMA they ruined croatia. AND the HDZ is not better buy Kolinda is a MILF so vote for her JSZ!
This was just the first round of elections. There will be a second round to decide the presidency.
Anyone following the elections? Looks like Josipovic will be back, he’s gotta slight lead over Kolinda.
To je to.
Istina.
I for one find it really cool to connect with Hrvati from down under.
When air travel takes a quantum leap I am hitting OZ to hang with all my momci.
I am looking to affirm more and diminish less on my posts.
@ Aussie Kreso
Good on you mate.
How about we praise a generation on this site for being good to each other.
@ Živa
Valid point.
Have we ever this much young talent coming up through the pipeline to support a solid core?
We have had some good players over the years but never all at once and never a young legs supporting cast.
Ironic how Šuker himself told me that we would never duplicate the ’98 run.
We do have to realign our footballing philosophy as we can play with anyone.
how about we praise this generation when they actually win something. Remember folks, no knockout stage wins since 1998. Tough to say we have a great generation without having won anything. We have individual talent, always have, always will. We have zero as a team so far.
@ intrepid
trebas misliti malo prije nego govoris

Hvala tebi I vas svima! What a fuken generation we have lets fukem this year!

We now need to create a new vision of our footballing philosophy as we are growing into the Argentina of Europe, producing a critical mass of world class footballers.
How do we maximize the power of our attacking midfielders, now accompanied by dynamic wingers and athletic wing backs?
This will take real vision from some imaginative minds. We have produced visionaries in the past, Grgur Ninski (Nin, Zadar). Time to access some group genius to fascilitate breakthrough levels of performance on the pitch.
NK needs to live at Real Madrid and learn from Master Ancellotti.
@ Aussie Kreso
I tebi isto Brate.
Merry Christmas my Brothers and Sisters from around the world!
Bum!
I saw Krancjar play against Arsenal. I always liked him but Kovac should not call him up again. I can’t imagine that Krancjar will play in the Premier League next season. The guy lost his speed, gets pushed away and loses every duel. And this coming from a fan.
Nothing changes. Wake up Hrv is in first place and more and more younger players are coming along. Be happy for that. Well done Niko Kovac.
I say nothing changes from Puppet NK and Olic Pranjic will be in 11 imagine Pletikosa didnt retire man Subasic should have been number 1 since 2010 failure. But a Euro 2016 team should look like Subasic-Srna(C) Corluka Jedvaj Strinic/Leovac-Modric Brozovic/Mocinic Perisic Rakitic/Kovacic Kramaric Mandzukic! Subs possible 11 Rebic Kranjcar L.Kalinic Coric Halilovic Pjaca Pavicic
Srna, Pranjic, and Olic are going to be 34, 35, and 37 respectively by the time Euro 2016 rolls around.
Their fitness and ability will be dramatically different by then. Unless the are very exceptional players, you have to start phasing them out by bringing in younger players at least in friendlies.
Jedvaj and Vrsaljko should probably overtake Srna within two years. Strinic should probably be starting over Pranjic already (or even have Jedvaj play there). Olic will probably be third or fourth striker with at least Mandzukic and Kramaric ahead of him by 2016.
We’ll see what happens in 2015.
Kranjcar should be on national team he is good team player and just 30.
The 2014 WC was a disaster worst WC for Croatia imo. Could have choose such a better 23 NK needs to wake up and build a fresh team and no Sranjic in 11 and Olic in 11 and Lovren in 11 Ill take them as subs but no 11. Srna is getting close to way passed his prime but he is C so he is in 11 for me until he retires because the C cannot be Benched. for me the Staring 11 depends on who croatia play it should not alwas be the same but lets have a core of players that just fit in right away. i think some new faces will be called agin in 2015 by NK that some dont know but lets start Building for 2016 a Euro 2016 team with Sranjic Olic in the 11 and add 34 year old srna doesnt look ambitious too me.
A euro 2016 team alot can change. But again the 2014 Wc roster Sucked!!!!!!!!
Back to soccer……I know some of you claim I’m negative all the time. I’m not, I just state the current situation.
But here is something positive for some of the jock sniffers. Props to Kranjcar for going the full 90 minutes today. Who would have thought Kranjcar could play the full game less than 24 hours after eating a complete lamb to celebrate Christmas. Impressive, no????
damn, even on Xmas, the people are thinking about me. Don’t know if I should be honored or disappointed in some of you.
ZIVA ISTINA JE PRIJEVARA A JE SMECE!
SRAM TE BILO!
Sranjic … Lol.
That squad is easy to choose.
Who is the captain?
Who are the first 11? Subs?
What is the philosophy/style/tactics ?
Now we are the alpha crew in the group.
We dictate the match.
2015 is going to be the most interesting year for the repka in 15 20 years.
Hepi Bozic svima!
My national team wishes Olic Sranjic Lovren not to play for national team and finally see a strong squad called into National team 3 Keepers Suba Kale Vargic/Livakovic-Srna Vrsaljko Jedvaj Strinic Leovac Sifo Vida Corluka-Modric Rakitic Kovacic Brozovic Perisic Mocinic Kranjcar Halilovic Rebic Mandzukic Kramaric
Whats this? sammir, sammy-boy is unhappy and wants to ask Kovac to be on the national team? sammy-boy thinks that he is needed and that he’s Croatian? lol, somebody tell him to stick with his trophy whore wife and open up a coconut stand in the off season. I have a blog about soccer, if he weasels his way whining and shitting to get on the team, I’m going to delete every single Croatian soccer related post I’ve ever done, Pathetic brazilian cry baby monkey.
Sretan Bozic Svima!
If Mandzo does get sold, then Atletico would be great for Kramaric to go to.
Sveti Nikola gave us all the gift of being Hrvati. Actually gave my son this gift today 25/12!
Stretan Bozic.
@ Danny J
Bogat Mario!
Top teams want him and he gets paid well for his beast box goals.
Athletico is broke. They sold half their core last summer.
I like Kramaric in Spain or Germany.
poor mario but he can probably be a big name in england. he seems to be getting treated a little unfairly… he puts the effort where ever he plays but probably a real smart move for atletico… they can essentially get kramaric for free with the profit they make
sretan bozic to all… remember you can pay back jesus by not being a douche bag that shits on other croats… we know who those are. just kidding just kidding… eat and drink my croatian cyber friends
Sretan Bozic.
Sretan Bozic!
Also, it looks like Atletico wants to make a quick profit and sell Mandzukic to Man City for 32 million Euro!
Then, throw a bit of that money at Rijeka and replace him with Kramaric.
Just a rumor, but very surprising.
anyone know where i can watch Četiri Kafića on the internet
^ ^
That was actually pretty funny…
this is why this website has gone downhill with stupidity like the above comment
Merry Christmas to all, even Ziva Istina who will be celebrating Christmas on January 7th.

Sretan vam Bozic, svima.
Get your butts to church tonight!
Hey Denis and Ante, any chance you can post that Croatian Twas The Night Before Christmas that you posted a few years ago?
I got a serious kick out of that.
