UFC Fight Night 65 was officially announced by the UFC today.
A heavyweight bout between Mark Hunt (10-9-1 MMA, 5-3-1 UFC) and Stipe Miocic (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) will headline the event in South Australia’s capital of Adelaide. According to the official UFC rankings, Stipe Miocic is ranked 4th in the world followed by Hunt at 5th. This fight has all the makings of a true barn burner as both guys like to stand and bang. Hunt being the more experienced kickboxer but Miocic has the edge in boxing. Also on the card, Sean O’Connell (16-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC) will meet Australian Croatian Anthony Perosh (15-8 MMA, 5-5 UFC) at light heavyweight.
As reported earlier, Stipe Miocic will be travelling to Croatia in March to help the Croatian legend Mirko Crocop Filipovic with his up coming bout versus Gabriel Gonzaga. It is now fitting as Mirko has faced Hunt on two seperate occasions, once in K1 under kickboxing rules and in Pride under MMA rules.
Stay tuned as more information becomes available on both fighters.
