It will be the Heavyweight GOAT against the GOAT in an epic fight sometime in 2023.
It’s official! UFC President, Dana White, said on Friday that Stipe Miocic will get another shot at the UFC Heavyweight belt, which he lost to Francis Ngannou in March of 2021, ESPN reports. With Ngannou leaving the UFC and vacating his belt due to contract disputes, a new heavyweight champion was crowned in Vegas Saturday night as Jon Jones choked out Ciryl Gane two minutes into the 1st Round. Jones, who is arguably the greatest UFC fighter of all time moved up from light heavyweight for this fight. His last fight was February 2020.
Miocic v. Jones will likely take place in July or August.
Miocic is the greatest UFC Heavyweight of all time. He has a 6-2 record in title fights and holds the record for most heavyweight title defenses (3). One more title win will only cement his legacy as one of the greatest fighters in company history. Defeating Jones would be icing on the cake.
