Madrid Xtra, a highly reputable Real Madrid news outlet, has reported that manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that Luka Modrić could return for the Copa del Rey Final this Saturday, May 6th. Modrić was originally slated to miss two weeks with a hamstring injury. If he is available for the Copa Final on the 6th, he should absolutely be squad ready for the 1st leg of the CL semifinals against Man City three days later.
My recommendation for Real Madrid: do not start Modrić for the Copa match (and only use him late if you need him against Osasuna). Save Luka for the City match three days later which will give him more time to rest.
Dannyj: “I think he plays till 40 health allowing
I know the thing about retiring at Madrid but luka wants to play
He has another 40 years of life to do whatever he wants”
I think here’s a possible scenario: Luka doesn’t get to retire at Real. He’ll move on to play for a lesser club so he can continue playing for the NT, and then he will sign off at WC2026 (assuming we qualify) at the age of 40.
(Sorry if this is a duplicate post, my original post seems to have disappeared.)

What about Bašić ?
Any hope for him? He’s 26
He’s likely to remain a depth player. You can never have too much depth though.
Is Bradaric capable of playing left wing with his skill set?
Good to see him picking back up
He’s only 23 and as we know don’t count a Croat out in their early 20s
Great question I wanna know too.
Perisic is at the tail end of his career, and we don’t have many solid options at left wing right now.
Gabriel Vidović is a bigger prospect.
Plus Brajković was pretty damn impressive in the U19 tournament.
I like Bradarić as a good depth player at LB.
Now imagine this… next season Vidovic goes on loan to his hometown club Augsburg, hooks up with Beljo and the two of them starts to form a kick-ass partnership =p

Bašić creates the turnover and charges the net to tap it in. Nice.

Brozovic with a nice interception and assist.

Bradaric with another nice performance. He really seems to be progressing after a long lull.
No idea if it was a poor foul or not by Bradaric but he was booked and gave away the free kick from which Fiorentina scored to tie the game 3-3. The free kick goal was quite astonishing though as Biraghi slotted home directly from the flank, so maybe a bit unlucky there for Bradaric (will also miss the next match). I hope he had a good game overall in spite of that.
I had called luka not being that hurt
The league is lost for Madrid
Plus a bit of gamesmanship maybe from ancelloti
He can play CL and finish copa del ray
And some random minutes in La liga to keep the rust off
CL, copa and nations league champs!
If messi didn’t win World Cup luka would be in talks for balon
Saw something about Ronaldo wanting to leave Saudi
The psg ultras are calling for heads including Messi
One could say luka took the easy way staying in Madrid but as we know to dictate the mid field in Madrid for that long is nothing short of astonishing
If luka was named English Luke no doubt they would be pushing him as Goat right now
I think he plays till 40 health allowing
I know the thing about retiring at Madrid but luka wants to play
He has another 40 years of life to do whatever he wants
School shooting in Belgrade.
The U.S. and it’s customs knows no boundaries it seems.
Don’t be disrespectful.
Don’t politicize a situation where a mentally ill kid decides to commit mass murder.
how did he politicize this? he said nothing political.
A 13 year-old kid murders a bunch of girls in Belgrade, and somehow he blames US customs.
And why exactly does that happen a lot in some countries and never in others? It is political, just like thing else
Lack of culture and identity.
No community, leaving you isolated from others.
No beliefs. No faith. Not caring about your fellow man.
Add in some negative and divisive rhetoric coming from the media or Internet, to give reason and fuel to an uncaring or unstable mind.
Easy recipe for something like this to happen in sterile, apathetic Western societies.
There’s a reason why this never happens in Croatia.
Never say NEVER maminjo.
You get your knickers In a twist when the U.S. is mentioned in a negative light, yet you’ve insulted Canada 🇨🇦 dozens of times.
Nothing worse than hypocrisy, you seem to make your own rules,You were probably the kid who ran home with the ball ⚽️ when other kids didn’t play to your tune.
Both countries have the same shortcoming as I listed above.
But when there’s a story about a mass murder of children, it shouldn’t be an opportunity to jump onto your partisan political positions.

Lovely ball from Kovacic. Too bad the commentator didn’t notice🤣. Effing Englezi.
Lol that was top class ball no mention
If that was some random English he would blow his load
Kova needs to go to a winner this year

This might be the softest straight red I’ve ever seen. Awful timing as well. You’re up 4-0 in a single leg semi final, there’s no need to risk that.
The ref didn’t even call a foul initially. He was notified by VAR to review, and then he issued the straight red. I thought it would be a yellow, but according to the letter of the law, denying a goal opportunity, I guess it has to be a red. It still doesn’t seem right. Joško is a great young player, who in many ways is very mature, but he also makes some rookie mistakes. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes and not repeat them when he puts on the checkers.
Apparently Modric visited some miracle doctor in Serbia
I guess Luka does have some heart????
