Luka Modrić has been ruled out for a minimum of three months after tearing a tendon his his thigh Sunday against Italy. We all saw the 29 year-old Real Madrid midfielder pull up short twice halfway through the first half, but it’s not as bad as it originally looked.
So what does this mean?
Absolutely nothing.
Croatia’s next qualifier is March 28th at home against Norway. Not only should Modrić be at 100% by that time, but if he’s not, the team shouldn’t need him to defeat the Norwegians. Following that, we don’t play Italy until June. So this Modrić injury should be a mute point to Croatian fans.
If anyone should be upset, it’s Real Madrid.
Nothing worse than a club sending off their star players to international duty in the middle of the season, only for them to return injured.
The bright spot for the reigning Champions League holders; they have already clinched a berth in the knockout round and only need a draw in their last two games to secure top spot. Real Madrid don’t need Modrić to accomplish that as they currently sit atop the La Liga table, two points ahead of Barcelona.
Also, what up with the imposter above………no reason for so many wanna be Ziva’s
Can’t compare other sports because they spend the entire year playing against each other. So, the 1 seed is usually the best going in. National team soccer is different.
I rather play the big boys earlier than later. The big boys are in better form later than earlier. Some team are not ready at the start of a tourney and could use a few games to play themselves into a higher level.
Again, the people who complain about a ranking drop are those who fear playing opponents ranked higher.
what a crock of shit… seeding, rankings don’t matter?
so in other words, say for the NBA – it doesn’t matter if you’re a 1st seed or 8th seed, you “shouldn’t be afraid to play anyone” apparently
and with the NFL, home field advantage must mean squat too in the playoffs, hey, you should win no matter where you play, right?
with seeding/pots (FIFA Rankings tie into this) in international tournaments, of course they matter… you’re still gonna need to beat the the big boy NT’s later in the tournament – but do you really want to play them in say the group stages?
in any sport, you want to take advantage of things like this… bringing Brazilians to your NT is one thing, but there’s nothing wrong to ensure you have a good ranking so come the time of a draw, you might end up in a better group
“Luka’s injury means absolutely nothing? lol some of us actually watch soccer, and enjoy seeing our players performing at top clubs.
But i guess you’re talking to the people who come along every couple months, to watch modrich, manjewkich, and rackitich play for their parents country. lol”
Well spoken. Some kid just got owned.
Guys, who cares about the FIFA rankings…….You know who pays attention to FIFA rankings…….teams and their fans who want a higher ranking to avoid tough teams in the group phase, trams they are afraid to play.
Decki, znam da ste jadni u picku materinu ali nemojte tako…nije istina. Ja nisam iznad Dinama prosim vas lijepo.

Ante B is a typical purger, who sometimes puts Zagreb ahead of Croatia… But a Yugo? Come on, lol. Where’s this coming from?
Hvala Trgomire!! Bas tako!!
Fifa rankings, how they have no logic behind them. Just as silly as their committee and fat boy Blatter.
This squad is better than the 4th place team a couple years back.
shitty we dropped numbers in world rankings
but would you guys take this version of the team even with all the crap around it rather then the 4th place team a couple years back??
im thinking this team is better
The lip marks were from Kovac.
There was this huge red Kiss mark on Pranjic’s neck during the game. What the heck was that about?????
ako trebam da biram covjek…cekaj cura…. na ovoj stranici koja je najveca jugoslavenica, nema pitanja. ante b . sto posto
Tendon tears are really bad and hard to come back from. I’m sure that RM has a great medical staff but I hope they don’t rush him back.

Do you have a link to download the last game
By my calculations, Croatia looks to have dropped 5 places from 14th to 19th on FIFA’s ranking table. Here who has moved ahead of us:
England
Romania
Czech Republic
Costa Rica
Algeria
“holiga je kralj! ante b je crvena zvijezda! cekaj…..crvena zvezda”

Interesting words from Tomo Sokota.
Says Kramaric should have started and that there is no way the BBB could have gotten so many flares in without inside help.
Says blame is to be passed all around – leans more toward the mafia running the HNS, saying “the fish stinks from the head down”.
It’s come out that Italian hooligans helped get the BBB tickets to the match and gave them places to stay near Milan.
who knows, could have been a lingering thing. he is hitting the age when the body just naturally starts to feel the wear and tear of youth… and being the kind of player and athlete he is has been hard on the body
shit if any of you are like weekend warriors or heavy lifters and such you know what its like to recover… one thing for sure is he will have the best of the best and i bet he is ready to come back before that… that sounds right for a tendon injury… but there are many advanced ways for therapy to speed up the process
glad he will be ok for us… i imagine his form will take a little bit but im sure his physio guys will be working him hard to retain his core and upperbody strength… who knows he may come back even stronger!!
but makes you really question the friendly games… qualifiers are hard enough…mean while some jew and his insurance company are choked!!
I wonder if he was still ok after the first time he went down and then fucked it up by trying to run at full pace a few minutes after that.
Was he asked that question?
Also, it didn’t look like anyone was near him on that pass when he first went down.
3 Months? I wonder how long it will take him to get back into form?
