As if Danijel Subašić needed any added motivation for Saturday’s match.
ESPN has reported that FIFA issued a warning to Croatian goalkeeper Danijel Subašić following Croatia’s penalty kick shootout versus Denmark on Sunday. Suba wears a picture of his fallen friend Hrvoje Ćustić under his goalie garb every match. While celebrating the win with Croatian teammates, Subasic showed off the shirt which violated FIFA dress code.
Hey FIFA, if you think Subašić isn’t showing the world some more Ćustić love when Croatia beats Russia on Saturday, you’re wrong.
I’m sure the Monaco keeper will be more than happy to pay that fine.
As big as these big countries think they are or fifa..they are not bigger than the universe. They play like they are god..sadly they are not in any control what so ever.Big countries will not admit their weaknesses ..quality not quantity.
FIFA has always and always will conspire against small countries. You can clearly see how the officials control the games.
Not sure if Zadar’s pitch was ever up to International standards.. But either way, fuck FIFA!
Well said!
FIFA is a despicable organization. Here they go punishing someone for showing love and loyalty to a fallen friend. Mind you, if FIFA properly regulated safety standards in international stadiums, the accident could have been avoided. Surely FIFA has enough money to provide padding to professional stadiums around the world. Instead, a bunch of rich guys who don’t play the game are getting richer!
Dear Ante, like Keith, I am a first time poster. Can I also compliment you on this site then get access to the WordPress log files so I can see all the IP addresses of the guys I don’t like?
Go Croatia! ZDS!
And Hercegovina flags were being confiscated in the stadium due to being inappropriate, lol.
I thought FIFA were being complete tossers with the albanian thing, i mean, what, albanians cant gesture their own motif? I thought THAT was stupid but this is just totally ridiculous and OTT
@ Keith,
Definitely work. But we love it. And you get it.

You guys do a good job with the site, I know it takes a bit of work to keep everything going and you don’t make money off of it, if you need some complimentary WordPress work, I can do some for you.
Yeah hopefully this doesnt bother him.
Everyone knows how strange goalies can be though.
If anything it only puts the name Hrvoje Čustić on peoples minds which is a good thing.
OK Slavonac…take it easy man…breathe.
This is totally irrelevant and should not be the side show to what’s the most important game we’ve had in 20 years. Whatever FIFA wants to do, they can do…this is a non story and non issue!
Who are fifa think they are? What’s the problem? He ain’t advertising nothing.
