Well, the guy doesn’t get much playing time at Benfica, but he’s definitely doing the best he can with the limited chances he gets. 25 year-old Croatian striker Petar Musa scored his first ever Champions League knockout round goal at the San Siro Wednesday night. Coming off the bench in the 8oth minute, Musa scored the equalizer against Inter Milan in the fifth minute of injury time. The goal would equalize the match at 3-3, however, Inter Milan would go through as their 2-0 1st leg win easily put them in control; 5-3 on aggregate. Benfica are out. Inter Milan move to the semifinals where they will meet hated city rivals AC Milan. The winner will go to the Champions League Final.
Musa has come off the bench late for Benfica in nearly ever match he has participated in this season. He has five league goals to his name this campaign in only 21 appearance. Tonight’s goal in Milan is his second Champions League goal with Benfica. He needs to get more reps for the Croatian national side. In his first two matches against Wales and Turkey last month, Musa got no looks and no service in the box. We will see how Dalić plays him in June for Nations League.
Marcelo Brozović got the start for Inter Milan in the 3-3 game and played all 90 minutes. SempreMilan.com gave him a poor 5.5 rating as it was “One of his worst matches this season. Did not seem himself and lacked concentration and quality tonight. Nearly gifted Benfica a goal towards the end.”
Nonetheless, it will be a Derby di Milano in the Champions League semifinals. Brozović vs. Ante Rebić and AC Milan. That guarantees a Croatian to at least be part of the squad that plays in the Champions League Final for a 12th straight season!
Rakitic assist from corner kick for 2-0 Sevilla lead v. Man U, now 3-0!
Can anyone remind me why he retired so soon from the National Team?
He would still be a starter for us today. Ivan and Luka were a great one-two punch in midfield as he’s never been close to replaced.
Personal choice. He probably did it to be around his family more I would think. Then he moved to Sevilla which is where he found his wife.
Pukštas will be “playing down” in this match, from the Senior Team.

“Hajduk juniors and 10,000 fans off to Switzerland to make history, UEFA making documentary ”
Remarkable achievement. Anyone know where we can watch them against AC Milan in the semi-finals?
DAZN and UEFA.TV I believe
Yes, it’s definitely being shown live on uefa.tv.
Thanks!

A beautiful article JB those brothers truly are living the dream.
The article after it on the 14 yr old Brazilian kid who resides in Croatia now, caught my eye…that kid looks like the real deal, a mini Messi… let’s hope he’s the 2nd coming of Eduardo!
I think dalic would have a solid attempt in introducing musa into the fond
After all Herzegovcis look after each other
Fold
Yeah he did it for Šutalo
Good exposure for Musa. He almost got a touch on the ball for the second goal, and then ended up scoring the third. If he’s fed the ball he can make a difference.
We need him to keep scoring, and need to keep calling him up.
It’s either Musa or Beljo who can usurp Livaja for the starting striker role, and I don’t want us to go into Euro2024 with Livaja still starting up top for us.
If it gets to the point where Livaja is still starting at Euro 2024 even if other strikers are scoring, there should really be no hiding from Dalic they gotta call that out.
