It has been confirmed by Bayern Munich general manager, Uli Hoeness, that Ivica Olić will join the Bavarian side at the end of the current season. So don’t worry, him and Petrić still have another 5 months together at Hamburger SV to finish out an incredible season.
The only thing missing from this deal is Olić’s signature- but I’m confident he will sign.
I was skeptical at first when I heard that Bayern wanted Olić in the current transfer window as I wasn’t sure how he would respond under the pressure of such a large club. But now that we know that Olić will join them in the summer and still gets to finish what he started with Petrić, I’m feeling better about this move. But time will always tell.
haha, well I still think Landon can produce well in the Germany League. I think hes the best the MLS has the offer and has loads of experience lets not use him as a punching bag just yet 🙂
Landon, bring your thickest pair of pants to Germany, I wouldn’t want you to get a splinter in your ass while you’re riding the bench.
hey what about me!?!!?!
im a legend in the MLS
Re: luca Toni and Klose
Luca Toni will return back to Italy soon and Klose has his spells of poor form. I think they are not invincible. Olic might be in his late 20’s, but Toni is even older. I think the threat to Olic will be Bayern’s next big money striker who they are sure to sign sometime soon. I don’t think Bayern are so unprogressive as to not sign another striker in the next 12 months.
Joze,
I don’t think that anyone has a “guarantee to start” in their contracts.
I could be wrong.
thanks for the update!
I heard that they guaranteed him a spot in the starting 11 but I’m not 100% sure. I saw that on TV here
hopefully I am wrong, and I probably shouldn’t be saying this, but if Olic to Bayern stays, Ivica starting days for Croatia are over, at best he will make the world cup as a sub. It will be difficult to start ahead of Klose and Toni. A few starts here and there will frustrate someone thats used to start just about every match.
Again, I hope I’m wrong, but once Olic loses his speed, he’s done. With an aging and most likely retiring Alex DelPiero, Juve would have been a better fit.
Ivica, no matter what happens, you are still a legend for beating the Italians, twice!
It would be good if he didnt go to bayern and stuck with hamburg.Petric and olic are awsome together in Hamburg becasue they know each others play and if they know each others play they will be better for Croatia. Plus Petric you can see that he is sad if Olic Leaves
read this…this deal is going through a bit of turbulance….doesn’t sound like its not gonna happen though…

Yes i agree, i think this shows Olic is quite sensible. I don’t think anyone can begrudge Olic trying his luck at a big club at age 29, but i think its best he stayed at HSV till the end of the season where his partnership with Petric is flourishing. I don’t think HSV will be too hard on Olic for not getting a fee for him. Regards Olic at Bayern that is 8 months away so that won’t effect Croatia just yet. I don’t know how Olic will do at Bayern. You never know with this guy. Bayern will have him as he approaches his 30’s. What Croatia is interested in is Olic for the next year or so. After that we should be looking at other players. I think staying in Germany is a good idea and for the next year he will be playing regularly at HSV and Bayern. Its really just what Croatia wanted. Personally i feel Valencia and Juve is the wrong club for Olic.
I think Robert Kovac, Krizanac, Pletikosa, Klasnic, Babic and Pranjic are also possibly going to move this transfer window. As a Dinamo fan i’m hoping for the arrival of Bostjan Cesar, Manuel Pamic and retaining the key members of the current squad. I’m satisfied with the arrival of Calello, Slepicka and Sivonjic. We’ve sold Mikic to Hiroshima and Sokota may go to Rijeka and we might let Tomic and Hrgovic go which is the best thing for their careers. We should also recruit Robert Kovac. If we did this in the summer we’d have done better in Europe. Also don’t really care if Balaban stays or not.
Hajduk should go for Vejic, Neretljak and we’ll have a fun race for the title. Sharbini will prob move to Dinamo or Hajduk at the end of the season – if Dinamo decides not to pursue Morales and Ibricic goes abroad. Would be good to see Sharbini take a step up.
