Ivan Perišić and Bayern Munich are headed to the Champions League Final! The German champions easily defeated Lyon 3-0 Wednesday night in the semifinal and will now face Neymar and PSG Sunday.
Both Bayern Munich and PSG cleaned up all trophies domestically between league and cup play. Bayern will be the heavy favorite to life the Champions League trophy. Ivan Perišić has started the last two games for Bayern and should get the nod for the Final. Perišić played 63 minutes and should have had an assist but Robert Lewandowski missed the easy tap-in.
If Perišić lifts the cup on Sunday, that will make it eight years straight its touched by Croatian hands.

Ivan Perišić is Croatia’s last hope…for Champions League glory.
A Croatian international has lifted the Champions League trophy every year since 2013. Yes, SEVEN years in a row! Mario Mandžukić started the party in 2013 when Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund in an All-German Final. Modrić got his first one in 2014 with Real Madrid. Then it was Ivan Rakitić’s turn with Barcelona when they beat Juventus 3-1 in 2015. Luka Modrić and Real Madrid would then go on an amazing European run, winning three titles in a row. Finally, Dejan Lovren picked one up last year with Liverpool, even though he played a minimal role in the Champions League run.
Now Ivan Perišić will be Croatia’s last flag bearer as Bayern Munich face Lyon in the second semifinal Wednesday night 3PM (ET). PSG are already through to Sunday’s Final after their 3-0 win over RB Leipzig. Perišić should start against Lyon after a fine performance and goal vs. Barcelona in the previous round. Bayern are -1400 to go through to the Final in Vegas and are expected to beat Lyon by two goals. However, this mighty under dog Lyon side has already gotten by Juventus and Manchester City. If by chance they beat Bayern, that has to be the toughest ‘3 games in 2 weeks’ schedule ever played in European club football.
Oh please God don’t let it be an All-French Champions League Final. Anything goes in 2020.
Euro 2016 Perišić literally slapped a Spanish player because he was messing with Rog.
He don’t give a fuck. I love that attitude
Vlasic with a screamer against dejans zenit although CSKA lost
He’s building
Congrats to Bayern and to Ivane
Hope they teach psg a footballing lesson
Whenever Perisic came off the bench with Dortmund he would always make an impact on the pitch. Maybe Klopp brought out the best in him and Perisic is a winner. I have never seen a better left foot from anyone.
Perisic is awesome wherever he plays.
He was great in Belgium, Germany, and Italy.
His only “problem” is that he is an alpha male who doesn’t take shit from anyone and voices his displeasure when he sees something he doesn’t like.
I wasn’t surprised when he was benched at Borussia Dortmund because of him butting heads with Klopp (who has a similar personality).
Also, I was not surprised when he rightfully criticized that tool (Icardi) and his wife for their stupid drama. Others were too scared to criticize Inter’s “best player” but he had no problem tearing Icardi apart in front of everyone.
Some people have big egos and weak minds, so they can get turned off by this and that’s why places like Dortmund and Inter didn’t appreciate him the way they should have.
Bayern are so good as a collective of which Perišić seems to know how to thrive with.
His intelligent movement is very underrated and his two footed abilities are world class.
He is a big time player who shines in these big matches.
He knows this is his time to put the world on notice.
Bayern – PSG final would be epic.
After the Bayern beat down, Neymar will start to have nightmares in German.
Those other teams PSG included aren’t half as good.
Its Bayern’s to lose.
In the 2nd leg of the CL semi between Bayern and Lyon in 2010, Olic scored a hat trick. The only goals of the match.
