21 year-old Petar Sučić will be on his way to play in the Italian Serie A next season for Inter Milan, Football Italia reports. He will remain at Dinamo Zagreb on loan until the summer of 2025. Sučić has been a stud with both Dinamo and the Croatian national side early in his career. He’s already been capped by Dalić five times and has a goal and assist to his name (vs. Poland in Nations League). Great things are expected from him for the next decade.
This move emulates what Marcelo Brozović did in nearly every way. Broz left Dinamo for Inter Milan at age 22. He was their cornerstone CDM #6 for eight seasons. Broz won one Serie A title with Inter; dethroning mighty Juventus. He also won two Coppa Italia titles and played in the Champions League Final in 2023. Epic Broz was also named the Serie A ‘Midfielder of the Season’ in 2022, which is an incredible nod to a midfielder who is not playing an attacking role.
If Inter do to Sučić what they did to Brozović, Croatia will be in good shape for the next few cycles. Add Baturina and Luka Sučić to the mix and we should be in good shape.
Orsic could have had the ability to be a well above average repka guy
I feel pasalic had that wild card in him too
Dalic will obviously stay till after the World Cup if we qualify
Luka will retire I’m sure and Dalić rode Lukas cape for far too long
I remember many years ago when it was announced the us would host the World Cup in 2026. I envisioned an onslaught from the wings of halilovic, brekalo and pjaca…oops
Dalic is an idiot plain and simple. He’s the worst coach we can have at the moment.
We need a coach who can break from old guard, and dalic won’t do that
2026
Perisic modric kramaric and petkovic or livaja will be starting gross
The thing with young pasalic. Did he do anything to say wow we can’t let him play for 15 mins
He had huge energy and showed he could take guys on
We didn’t need someone absolute world class
He had the power and looks like most of the speed of rebic without the bad attitude
Maybe I’m wrong but I really wanted to see more time from him
It’s not like we had a rw busting down the door
UEFA U21 Qualifying draw was made yesterday.
We were in Pot 2 and have drawn:
Ukraine, Hungary, Turkey and Lithuania.
Could have been a lot worse. First match on 9 Sep 2025 away to Turkey and on 14 Sep 2025 we host Ukraine. Chance for Olic to redeem himself ?
Hopefully not, and we lose both games.
I can’t believe we didn’t fire him after that home loss to Georgia.
When does loyalty become corruption
Little bit off topic but here is a video of Modric telling Vini he needs to come back to defend (Madrid won 3-2).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHIkLkH9V3w
Shows you what a great captain he is.
Also, watching highlights of Budimir last weekend, we need to find a way to use his talent on the National Team.
Pasalic going to USA? Makes you wonder why? is it because he is fed up with Dalic and doesn’t know what else to do to get playing time on the team? or was Dalic right about him not having enough talent on a world class level?
Lastly, makes you wonder how younger players feel if they are performing and not getting called up? A bit frustrated?
This is what Ancelotti had to say about the altercation:

🗣 Ancelotti: “Modrić was angry with Vinicius? I don’t know what happened but if Modrić said something then it’s correct. Always agree with Luka Modrić.”
Love it🤣
what did pasalic do to deserve playing time on the national team? he isn’t that good to deserve playing time.
Well, we have a shortage of RW players and he seemed to step up to the task when given those few caps.
He played well in every game he played with us (in limited minutes).
It was probably worth seeing what more he could bring, especially considering how congested our midfield was by playing ZERO wingers during the Euros (all while having a top-3 La Liga striker who seems to score a great deal of his goals off of crosses).
Not saying this guy was some can’t miss prospect, but considering our situation, it wouldn’t have hurt anyone to give him the last 15 minutes of a game with Budimir out on the field.
In his prime Brozovic was a world class defensive midfielder that could run all day. Sucic is young and has a long way to go before reaching world class status ? if he ever gets there ? They are different type players; Sucic is more offensive and will score more goals than Brozovic. That is why I do not think that he will play as a defensive midfielder for Inter ?
We’ll see how he goes at Inter? it won’t be easy, but we can only hope that he succeeds.
Sucic runs a lot though.
I’m pretty sure there are some stats out there that show him being one of the top players on the field when it comes to distance ran.
He’s also pretty disciplined and doesn’t do stupid things out there (like lose the ball)…which is very good to see for a guy so young.
It just seems like he has all the makings of being a very high-effort good-disciplined defensive player (in addition to having great offensive skills too).
“He’s also pretty disciplined and doesn’t do stupid things out there”
Red card in the first half against Scotland. But the fact he played in champions league and croatia and scored in both are good indicators he will be able to perform in a top 5 league. It will be hard for him to mess up this opportunity, even if he does make mistakes the brozo legacy will ensure he will keep getting chances.
LOL, yes that “red card”.
I’m surprised he wasn’t banned from football for that recklessness.
That was obviously a terrible call, and Sučić can’t really be blamed for biased or incompetent refereeing
Kidding aside Broz was dope for a few years. Loved seeing him smoke and drink after putting in 15+km
I love the fact that his dad pulled him out of school because Marcelo was academically stupid, and his dad figured that he may as well go all-in on football (as he’s not risking any academic future by doing so) ha ha.
Hopefully he doesn’t cover himself in ugly tattoos and come up with some corny nickname like Epic Sooch.
I’m fine with him getting a Livanjski sir tattoo on his neck
How do you guys think sucic compares to broz talent wise?
He seems to be smoother on the ball going forward when I’ve seen him
He’s young but has a great attitude
Broz had a battling attitude but I don’t know I really like young sucic
I like Sučić more than Broz
Hey Maminjo, you were asking about his future re-sell clause in the other thread? You probably already know by now… 10% of the next transfer says SN.
10%
Should have been 20% or more.
Oh well, not everyone has master negotiating skills like Mamic did.
@Dannyj
Seems to me Sucic is showing more promise than Broz did when he was at Sucic’s age, so maybe a higher ceiling..? Well, at least I hope so…
At the same age, yes, Sucic is better but Broz was a bit of a late bloomer (so it’s hard to predict the final outcome).
I remember when Brozovic was transferred to Inter Milan, it was only for 4 million (with an option to buy for another 4 million).
He was also already 23 years old at the time, and nobody thought he would get a starting role there.
He surprised everyone, and they ended up triggering the option.
But it was only at age 26 when he really showed that he could be a top midfielder, and he finally secured the starting role in our midfield during the 2018 World Cup.
Luka makes it 1-0 Real in Copa del Rey action.
Marco looks official:

Here’s hoping we see Petar live up to his potential and become a better player than Brozovic ever was. He’s still young so I have high hopes for this kid if he maintains his discipline and keeps training hard.
@Eric and @Maminjo re: Rijeka selling players
Miskovic must have heard we’re talking about him hehe
He’s came out y’day to explain it all
https://www.nacional.hr/miskovic-galesic-je-htio-u-dinamo-rijeka-je-obrnula-217-milijuna-eura-otkad-sam-tu/
It costs 1.3m p.m. to run Rijeka – so it needs 9m to run through to end of NEXT transfer window i.e. August end – hence the sales (i.e. 11m total gross (Smolcic was 2m), less Duje Cop 300k, Skoric free, and Jovan Manev ?)
Galesic – Niko had talks w/ Dinamo last summer – if he didn’t sell him now – he could leave for free in the summer
Smolcic – can’t say no when Serie A wants you (I guess but for 2m he ain’t starting in Serie A so why go to sit on the bench)
Pasalic – 1m salary (vs. 240k “max” at Rijeka ?) – he points out he had a better offer in the summer (Saudi ?) but Pasalic didn’t agree
I guess where I see it different is IF Rijeka won the league and qualified for CL – he’d be selling the same players for higher $$$ (bc they’d be CL players) – imagine if Pasalic or Fruk or whoever had 8 games in the CL to show themselves – their value (assuming good performance) would [double] if not more – so there is a “multiplier” effect at play (beyond the $$$ u get from being in the CL)
All this to say it’s really embarrassing for Dinamo that they are 3rd (when this is your competition – sell players every window just to keep the lights on – and you can just pick off their best players with high enough bid to weaken them further)
Bok Ante,
Thanks as always for maintaining this website alive, we all really appreciate it!
I have very high hopes in Sucic, and think he is already pivotal for the national team too. He can really turn into a world class player, given his attributes.
