New Jersey Nets sharp shooter Anthony Morrow paid homage to the late Dražen Petrović Saturday night during the three-point contest in Orlando, Florida. Morrow dawned a Nets throwback jersey with Petrović’s retired #3 on the back. Morrow had the night’s lowest score (14) in the first round of the contest which meant he would not be able to move on, however, the 26 year-old should come away as a big winner for paying respect to a fallen NBA Hall of Famer, who left us early. Petrović passed away in a freak auto accident in Germany in 1993 at the age of 28.
“I instantly thought, ‘If I get chosen, I’m going to wear his jersey,’ ” Morrow said of the Three-Point Contest at All-Star Weekend. “It was something I always thought about in the back of my mind. I didn’t make it last year, and this year I did, so I said I would take advantage of it if I had the opportunity.”
I thought all the hrvati live in the suburbs of Cleveland.
@Ziva:
Where do you reside?
good find……I feel sorry for anyone who does live in cleveland….What a shithole of a city.
The only good thing about that town is the hrvati in that city. Some good dudes over there and big time drinkers. Never seen humans drink that much in my life.
Ha, it’s like he just read that strait from my diary ^^^ As they say, What’s the only thing that grows in Cleveland? The crime rate… I don’t blame him for being upset about living in cleveland.
BREAKING NEWS:
I have finally found the true identity of Ziva Istina.
It’s none other than Chicago Bull Joakim Noah!

1) That was a class act by Morrow to wear “Petro’s” jersey, especially considering he was only 7 when he was at his peak with the Nets. This was the highlight in what hands down the WORST three-point and slam dunk competition in the history of the NBA.
Morrow is a good 3-point shooter in a real game, but he needs WAY too much time to shoot in this type of contest in-between balls. I think he still had about 3-4 balls left on his last rack.
2) Denis- I’d love to see an interview. Based on his twitter remarks the past two days, he seems genuinely thrilled that so many Croats have reached out to him to saw thanks.
3) Ziva- Even though you’re joking, everytime I hear the name “Planinic” it makes me think what in the world the Nets saw in him to draft him. He was a disaster and only had a handful of decent games.
That was honorable -U-
LOL at both guys that posted in front of me. A great Ziva joke and this new guy.
I’m still waiting for someone to wear a Zoran Planinic Nets jersey as a sign of respect.
sucks that he finished dead last, but it was nice to see the “#3” back on the big stage. A future interview?
I love CS
Much love to Morrow despite the horrendous performance
Loved this!! Morrow is my new favorite player!
