Ante Kvartuč, Pete Novaković and Lovre Nikolac (@croatiafooty) dissect Croatia’s exit from the 2026 World Cup. We talk about Dalić, his amazing 9-year tenure as manager and what’s next. The boys talk about the future and what Croatian fans should be excited about.

I haven’t seen a goal with an angle like that since Nuno Ricardo de Oliveira Ribeiro Maniche euro 2004 against the Dutch.
Looks like VAR HATES England as much as they hate Croatia tho that was fair tackle, surprised they didn’t fuck yarn as if it that was Croatia we would have been robbed. We got a bit robbed, bad Dalic tactics and we could say what we want but no one got screwed like Egypt did against Argentina
“Latin American Fans Are Turning Their Backs on Argentina – New Lines Magazine” https://newlinesmag.com/spotlight/latin-american-fans-are-turning-their-backs-on-argentina/
Almost all the latin american countrys have no interest in their team..hard to watch their fake wins.fake dives fake refs..and denier of truth fans who watch their fraud wins collect even more money from fifa..yebiga.
As much as I have complained about Zlatko and his strategy…I’m glad Ante here has kept the message on point.
Coach Zlatko has taken this program to such heights that almost every other nation in the world could only dream of.
I’ve gotten to see this national team capture two World Cup medals. A third with the Nation’s League. (A fourth/first in 1998.) Thanks Coach!
Jaga 2pm Sat vs Grasshoppers

Anonymous rejects ALL extremists of any religion including Catholics !
There are more Islam (2.2bn) than Catholic (1.4bn) – so it’s beyond arrogant for a Catholic to say we should “reject Islam”
In 10 years there will be 2x Islams > Catholic based on difference in birth rates – in 30 years 3x
U want to reject 2.2bn people bc of a tiny percent of extremists ?
Come on
Actually give them credit they are disciplined to pray 5 times per day (50% of NA Islams) while the typical Catholic barely makes it to Sunday mass (15% Canada, 25% USA)
So most NA American Catholics should just keep quiet about religion as they can’t even get their lazy ass to Sunday mass and give credit to Islam for being dedicated to their religion
Once again, reject the extremists of all religions but let the rest do their thing
Nobody’s stopping you to go to church 5x a day – focused on that to be a better Catholic rather than what other religions are doing
*tiny number of extremists (not percent!)
When Mbappe chooses to represent France he rejects Cameroon and Algeria, for selection implies rejection. So to not choose Islam is to reject it, and there is nothing wrong with that, in fact, that is the right thing to do.
It wouldn’t be a good idea for Croatia to start rejecting their own people for non-Croats to represent Croatians in football, yeah you may win some games doing that, but as the wise man said: “it is not in the victory only, but also in the way of the victory, that the marvel is the greater.”
I marvel at Croatia making the world cup final in 2018 way more than I do in France winning it with Africans that rejected their people to play in a contrived super team.
If France wins, anyone what to guess how many cars are vandalized and over turned, buildings burnt down, people killed, down in Paris Selo, in celebration.
Yes, we are blessed to be Croatian Win or Lose. I am envious of no one, for their soccer programs, when you look at the final dystopian conditions these countries have to endure for success.
@Croatian Canadian
They say it is best not to talk about religion, and politics. Add to that list Croatian soccer.
I believe to have a functional society most importantly really requires commonality of values and social norms to maintain what is good. Croatian and Slovenia don’t need foreigners to make them great. They are great. Spend your money and leave would be my ideal and let our soccer program wither if it needs too.
A beauty, safe, and livable Croatia is more important to me than any stupid soccer board. The keys words are values and social norms.
Who cares is Slovenia sucks in soccer, it is a kick ass beautiful country like Croatia. Croatia just happens to be good at soccer, a feather in our cap. More importantly for Croatia, don’t lose the beautiful felt cap on your head, the hell with the feather.
Over-populated urbanize secular godless world, of cities of 25 million, does not seem appetizing, if that is the price for the world cup.
Some kind of melanin deficiency test is ridiculous if that is what you are suggesting for the soccer team. More important, people of like spirit and good will should be accepted in reasonable numbers only, that the Croatian society could slowly absorb and have the boat remain stable.
With that said, as long as they can keep Croatia safe and somewhat “Culturally and religiously” homogenous for people to bring up families would be my wish. Croatians are becoming smaller and smaller percentage so like you said, it is unstoppable.
>90% Catholic Nigerians
Vs
27% Catholic Croatians in Croatia
Those are the % that go to Sunday mass every Sunday
So Nigerians are better Catholics than Croatians
Don’t hide behind “religion” in ur desire to keep Croatia all-white (which is what u really mean when u say culturally and religious compared ) as Nigerians are better than Croatians in their dedication to religion – but I’m sure you’d cry if the 35m Catholics in Nigeria came to Croatia – but Croats would learn how to be better Catholics from them
I can only account for myself regarding mass service.
I would not want 35 million Polish and Ukraine Catholics to come to Croatia either, when they are only 3.5 million people in Croatia currently. Does that make me a racist.
I have nothing to hide. I said people of the same spirit and good will should be welcomed in very reasonable numbers. That is my own very liberal belief and no way extremist in nature. If they are Catholics, that is ideal. I also said no melanin deficiency test.
I also said ideally all people would come and spend their money and leave. There is actually no foreigners needed of any kind to make Croatia great, they are great, and those that are respect and allow in can share in the greatness, but we don’t need to be overpopulated.
I enjoy the fact that are largest city is Zagreb @ 800,000, and you can go to a concert of 600,000 people and be totally safe.
The city is safe and livable. I said social norms and similar values are the most important.
The chief of all that Var overreach at this W.C.is that bald headed S.O.B.Pierluigi Colina chrome dome; Italians suck so bad that they don’t qualify ,so they make it their .business to screw everyone with pedantic Var bollix.
Didn’t think it would come that we save half Croat with half African, Brazilian or Algerian descent. Every major European country consists of them and it’s the majority. Let’s be honest, if you take away Mbappe from France. They aren’t making a final or semi final. You take all the non ethic players from any team and they aren’t good. Spain struggled from 2014-2018 and then Yamal and Williams arrived. However this year none of them have made an impact. It was bound to happen and honestly I’m on the fence about it. There’s mixed opinions in this comment section. My question is to all of you is: What would you think of your country becoming like this? Croatia is always safe and still is. Just as long as we don’t cave into the EU agenda and start being like Serbia and caving in to Israel and the juice. Croatia should be pure but it’s 2026 and nobody has kids. Canada is accepting Indians at alarming rates but they aren’t athletic at all. As long as they contribute and we have a couple. I was against it but now we can’t stop it. Just as long as we stay Catholic and reject Islam. Don’t mean to get political but I see that’s what the comments have been.
Does he live the ZDS lifestyle or is he into Yugo nostalgia?
Spain was at their peak in 2008 to 2012 when they won all three tournaments in a row.
Nothing tops that.
Any see how Rodri clearly played the ball when it came in from the cross? Should have been a penalty. This was the 61st minute.
The handball with his and raised ? Yep. If that was us it would have been a penalty for sure I reckon.

If u dont know what the product is, YOU ARE the product !
Croatia i give them a 2.5 out of 5 this tournament we got out of the group and just no luck of the draw portugals onky good game was vs us unfortunately.
Dalic dint have a staring 11 in his head to much lutanje. 3 5 2 with no wingbacks unfit gvardiol zelen vuskovic who didnt play qualifiers and wasted friendlies.
Dcc erlic injured we had to go with pongracic we were not going deep with that back line
Didnt call a left back and the arugently said we dont have a left back other than gvardiol.
All in all disappointed but this was a fun ride lets see what Bilic does
The sad thing is it that the people who desired Budimir and Matanovic as the main striker, received their request, and got their answer of what the result would be in 2026.
For people who objectively preferred Musa as the right choice, like Markus contributing journalist, etc., we never get to know.
Based on statistics, we can only imagine possibly a golden boot, based on Musa normal rate of production, which does not seem to vary, based on league or environment.
Everyone who was not a normal starter who started for the England game, and had blood on their hands, was blamed and essentially summarily blackballed from the rest of the tournament by Dalic. Vuskovic and Musa to name two.
Unfortunately, we continued to have problems thereafter to defensively cover corners, without creating penalties while doing it. The problem was not solved, and are main effective striker were shown the bench for the rest of the tournament.
Croatian snobbery shown to the MSL killed Croatia chances, but Argentina is still around because the only one would close to producing his numbers is Messi, and he is looking to possibly receive the golden boot.
Musa number’s proves his quality. Where he goes he averages a goal a game, national team, America or europe. Musa was producing a quality on a 60 minute clip.
A player needing continuous excellent service to be successful, does not product these numbers.
Matanovic who had over twice the minutes in the world cup provided no scoring, while Budimir, who had the lion’s share again provided only one serviced deflection score into goal.
At some point, people did to play Billy Beane ball, which Oakland did for many years outperforming the larger markets in baseball, with 10% of the resources, by making management decision, on truthful statistics, not based on snobbery biased preconception.
The only person close to Musa production was Messi, and he is looking to receive the golden boot award.
Maybe Anonymous very quick eye test on Verela wasn’t wrong after all 😉
Boy the BACK-LASH Anonymous received by saying he just isn’t good

🚨 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: Dinamo Zagreb wonderkid Cardoso Varela has been moved to the club’s B team.
The 17-year-old will now look to earn another chance with the senior squad after falling out of first-team contention during pre-season.

𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓: Slaven Bilić is reportedly planning several changes to Croatia’s squad once appointed head coach.
Josip Mišić could receive his first senior call-up, while Adrian Segečić, Ivan Smolčić and Luka Stojković are also being considered.
Luka Vušković is set to have a much bigger role under Bilić.
[Sportske Novosti]
All great news.
Luka Vušković having a much bigger role is the most important thing for us right now. He’s a future star who should have been playing every minute of this World Cup, instead of watching Pongračić leak goals to Ghana and Portugal. This was easily Dalić’s biggest mistake.
Luka Stojković is probably the most important new call up in terms of talent level and planning for two years from now. Has potential become a right-sided version of Baturina. Great news to get him on the team asap.
Smolčić gives us much needed depth at the fullback position, and who knows, maybe he could be good enough to start some games as well (and give poor Stanišić a break).
Nice to see Mišić given a chance. He’s great for depth off the bench. A true CDM that has good technical skills.
Segečić may be too early (I would prefer Adriano Jagušić) but we’ll have to see how these guys start their seasons. Their status and form at their clubs will likely dictate their callup. I’m hoping Jagušić comes out hot at PAO and gets a callup as well.
https://www.jutarnji.hr/sportske/nogomet/sp2026/slaven-bilic-novi-izbornik-jednoglasna-podrska-misic-segecic-vuskovic-15726503
Actually I now read the actual article
It’s just SN completely guessing – they basically looked at standby list and said “these guys!” – on Vuskovic they say “If he pass Brighton test, then for sure he’ll be a starter on the NT!” (duh – obviously)
I’m embarrassed not seeing Jaga on the list (while Segecic was listed) didn’t raised alarm bells on article for me – but it’s bc Jaga wasn’t on the standby list lol
Lazy journalism
It’s nice to say Misic – but if we need two #6 on the team – and we have Kova, Moro and Jakic – who do you drop to add Misic ??
The only good thing from the article is they say Bilic will have 2 players for each position – whoever the best available is (gave example of Euro 2012 where Lovren was injured and Bilic had to call Jurica Buljat to replace him like-for-like) – that’s what Tuchel did for England – 2 players for each position (it’s why big names like Palmer, Foden, etc missed out) – Stanisic was gassed during Ghana – we needed another RB – no clue why Jakic didn’t get minutes – Croatia need the best 2 RB in the squad – best 2 LB in the squad (whoever that is), etc – and run with it (of course when you have players like Stani who can play more than 1 position that’s gravy on top) – but playing Ivan at LB (although he was actually very good) is terrible squad planning (while having a million CBs and 7 players in total that had zero minutes)
My number 1 hope ? Bilic announces the squad 2 weeks later than Dalic did and GETS RID OF THE NON-BINDING STANDBY LIST aka PARTICIPATION TROPHY LIST – just get rid of it – it means nothing – it’s some Yugo mentality crap – Dalic was the only coach in the WORLD to do it – so much can happen in 2 weeks (injuries, etc) – just announce the squad on the last day possible (like England) FFS
Stop playing Musa essentially after the England game was as equally as bad, our most statistical successful striker, whether a fan or not of MSL.
As it relates to goalie and striker, these are the most objective position, where following statistics should give a really good starting point answer.
Musa deserved more playing time. Musa was the man of the moment.
Striker who plays should be base mostly on statistical data not on how you see their role 4 years potentially in the future or some physical attribute like more height or wavy hair.
Sometimes more height and wavy hair might actually kill your chances.
If you leave it to ability to self-produce quality goals, there was only one answer.
I was listening to the Italian football Podcast where they were discussing FIFA corruption, hoping they’d mention our game against Portugal: youtu.be/6CBmAkOoHkk?is=Og387oBc9Cpjagv7
But they gave Blanc’s ’98 red card as as an example of prime FIFA corruption?!!! Here’s my comment, I left. What do you guys think?
“You gave Bilic’s acting to get Blanc a red card as one of the biggest examples of FIFA corruption. You are wrong. That was a player that cheated and decieved the referee. Did FIFA stop France from progressing or stop them from winning the tournament? No. When systemic issues occur that betray an agenda, then you can discuss FIFA corruption. There is plenty of that at this World Cup.”
I was an adamant supporter of playing Musa as lead striker all 4 games, 100% of the time. He was superior to both Budimir and Matanovic in my estimation. I think Musa was only given maybe 70 minutes in total. In that small window he scored one of the best goals of the Croatia tournament amongst all the strikers, of which I was not surprised. Markus writer on this site, was the only one as adamant, as well as; “Guest”, and “Vlad”.
Musa is 6’3″ with a buzz cut. Matanovic is 6’5″ with loose wavy hair. Yes a + 2″ difference.
I wish I could say I sleep soundly knowing that I still feel vindication from this tragedy, but I have no communication or sway with Dalic. I suffer like him, with his decisions. He was our leader.
No, Matanovic is the real deal. He just needs to become more clinical in front of goal — which he will. He’s young. He’s our Van Nistelroy I’d say.
I feel the same way, his ball control is fantastic.
he is already 23 yrs old. 15 goals in 50 appearances last season. That isn’t some guy who is going to produce all the time for the national team. Finding consistent goal scorers is the hardest thing. We will continue to struggle on that side.
He scored 9 of those in his last 19 games. He’s getting better.
His market value (on Transfermarkt) went from €5M to €22M this season.
He didn’t need to be prolific. He can be a power forward (like Morata or Mandžo) where he wears out the opposing defenders and we score by consensus.
I humbly and politely disagree. Result count for something I would suggest.
The “real deal” scored zero goals. His lack of production in the WC mirrored his lack of production outside of NT, unfortunately, as statistics would predict.
Musa produced the best quality goal of the match of all the strikers as statistics would predict. He was the man of the moment. Matanovic might be the man of the future. Let us see.
Striker should be actually a simple position to select, and the least amount of subjectiveness is needed.
Musa’s goal was mostly because of Perisic beautiful assist, didn’t have to do much from 8 yards out. And his defending was horrible. Probably why he’s in the MLS. Matanovic was more impressive in the Portugal game. And he plays in a real league.
I humbly disagree he had to surgically thread it through the eye of a needle. Very different than Budimir thigh deflection, compared to Matanovic complete lack of offensive output, even given twice the playing time opportunity.
Did anyone do any better defending crosses and corner kicks moving forward. Vlasic defending methods cause us a penalty kick.
Messi is an MLS player and on the verge of getting a golden boot and still in the hunt for the cup.
A striker and a goalie need to be measured in statistic results. Matanovic had no results just subjective comments he was “impressive”.
Messi is a cheat let’s be honest and that whole team.is favored which is a complete and utter disgrace,Matanovic made a real difference coming on in the 2nd half against Portugal he shows some good qualities for sure he has some genuine strength too.
Mourihno wants Broz at Madrid !
Kante is already 190-193cm at 16
Left footed CB similar mold to Saliba
We know get the daily “he’s going to be too tall” from Truth every day for the next 5 years
Great !
@Crnkovic
U okay with Anonymous highlighting Kante ?
I did throw his name out a couple days ago
And BOOM
Dortmund just bought him !!!
Even Fabrizio getting on board to help Croatia by ONLY mentioning he’s Croatian
Do u understand what kind of progress that is ??? Not mentioning his other nationalities – this is HUGE
Anonymous breaks through glass ceilings for Croatia !!!!
That’s massive massive for Croatia PR – maybe the BEST PR we’ve ever gotten !!!!!
Let’s get Kante in the squad by Euro 2028 and Croatia might just be allowed to cook 😉
@@@@@@
🚨🟡⚫️ EXCL: Borussia Dortmund agree deal to sign 16 year old centre back Liam Claude Kanté, here we go!
BVB won the race with several top clubs across Europe, deal signed for the Croatian talent from Lokomotiva Zagreb.
Despite being half African, he may only have Croatian citizenship which is why they would refer to him as a Croatian talent (because he’s currently ineligible to represent anyone else unless he gets another passport)
Hmmm
His dad Manuel Kante was born in France (to Mali immigrants) and is a French citizen (I checked)
As such, Liam was a French citizen at birth (bc his dad was a French citizen at the time of his birth) despite being born in Croatia
So pretty sure he has dual Croatian-France citizenship, no ?
Always good news to have promising players coming through for us. I hope he achieves his potential and plays for us. Ofcourse as a half African half Croat myself I’d be delighted to see a black Croatian becoming a star for us. Croats aren’t racists. That kind of stupidity is mostly WASPs. Never become a wasp 😊
Croatia is a small country without an imperialist stain on its history. Croats have been colonised they are not colonisers. So there is no chance of the national team becoming full of Africans or any other background, like France or England. There is nothing to worry about in that respect, the national team will always be 99% Croat blood. As I’ve always said, if a Brazilian or African or whoever really loves Croatia, has proper ties to the country, as Kante obviously has having been born and brought up in Croatia, It’s home for him 100%, then I’m happy and in fact proud that he should play for us. No brainer. This is Ofcourse slightly more complicated for diaspora Croats as they feel that it’s not where you live but where your roots are that really counts. That’s understandable psychology and doesn’t mean they are racist. The problem is the political environment pushed by global white supremacists, it confuses a lot of people and they start getting a bit twisted with their world view…as we have seen on this very site many times. I say bring the kid on and let him score some big goals from corners to knock out the French and English.
Last point. He is going to have to be very very very good if he is going to get in the team ahead of the likes of gvardiol and vuskovic
@Crnkovic
You’re lucky you don’t check social media – please keep it that way – as it’s a cesspool of you don’t even want to know
I could share the “comments” for the announcement of Kante by Fabrizio and the (especially) Croatian sites – but I don’t want to pollute your brain with it all
It’s entirely possible (and we know probable) that most social media “comments” are majority-led by the lowest common denominator/IQ (and bots) and thus nasty (deliberate or otherwise) – and it’s also possible (and hopefully probable) that this isn’t representative of most Croatians
But
We have seen on this site (and 100% on social media) as soon as Anonymous mentions Kante, Mattheus (Eduardo’s son), Ayodele Thomas, etc – that people have responded “He’s not Croatian” – despite even having one parent that is “Croatian” (read white) – yet the same people were ok with Prso (a 100% ethnic Serb) playing for Croatia
And that’s the low IQ irony of it – not all Serbs are bad – but Serbs have been a threat to Croatia historically (and I’m sure if they could would take our land today) – so on the one side low IQ are okay with Serbs being on the NT – but not a CROATIAN on the NT bc he’s not 100% white (that’s what it comes down to) – that’s dumb – like really dumb – and Anonymous has called it out before as being dumb/hypocritical!
The good news – and that was the purpose of Anonymous harping on this – is that has COMPLETELY GONE away on this site – so perhaps the efforts to push back on “racism” (in whatever form it existed, consciously or sub-consciously) by putting the topic out in the open and calling it what is is – has helped people self-reflect and they’re opinions have evolved (or at least they are keeping their low IQ mouth shut)
Either way – it’s a MASSIVE WIN for Croatia and we can be very satisfied on PROGRESS !
However – I still contend – from the outside (Croatia) in perspective – it will remain a comment – as e.g. as I mentioned LICRA (the anti-racist France NGO) on the eve of the 2018 final publishing that Croatia is “too white” – so people (outside world) can still use it against us – legitimate or not – I don’t want anyone to use anything to hurt Croatia – so I still maintain that it would be helpful for Kante or some other “not 100% white” Croat comes back into the NT – it takes the “argument” against Croatia away – and that might (at the margin at least) “help” Croatia progress further in the tournament (yes, I know the commerce element of it is over-riding) – but we shouldn’t forget that FIFA is a global “brand” and 87% of the World is not-white and most of the kids playing football are not-white – so from a morale standpoint of the majority of kids playing – it would help that the 87% can better “relate” to the Croatia NT by seeing “one of their own” – and that might the recipe to release the shackles and allow Croatia through in a tournament going forward
On Kante – he’s left-footed and already 190-193 cm at 16 ! I think he can play as DM as well – maybe he can evolve to the LB position for the NT for which we nobody right now (like Mickey VDV plays for Netherlands)
Great discussion!
Very intelligent anonymous ❤️. Just ignore the bullshit those epic hypocrites try to push about Croatian “too white” sramota. Couldn’t make it up. Epic morons. Ajmo Hrvatksa, let’s go Bilic!
I remember when the French forget which paper wrote an article criticizing Croatia in 2018 for not having any black players or when the English starting calling us racist because the players refused to kneel for the Black Lives Matter bullshit. Most countries in Europe hates us always have always will. It’s not a coincidence that in almost every major tournament we get controversial calls against us. Even against Germany one of the few countries who helped us during the war got the calls in the euro 96 quarterfinals. Remember that game well even with a man down we outplayed Germany.
❤️ 🤗 🥰
If his dad is born in France, then it means Liam is “eligible” for French citizenship (and not that he’s automatically a citizen).
He would have to apply, but it would very likely be no problem for him to acquire.
But he’s probably not a French citizen right now, because he’s born and raised in Zagreb and the media are just referring to him as a Croat. Likely just has his Croatia citizenship.
@Maminjo
Perhaps you want to inform TM that lists both Croatia and France under his citizenship ? 😉
***.transfermarkt.us/liam-claude-kante/profil/spieler/1333849
Here’s an example of Fabrizio announcing a dual-citizen Grady McDonnell where he puts both Irish and Canada flags
https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1879664609059336655
He could have done the same for Kante – but he only put Croatian – Fabrizio ain’t a dummy (he probably has a team of a dozen people helping him for all these posts) – and it all points to a MASSIVE PR win for Croatia
Seeing too much
Bilic did/does good first 2 years and then crashes
It’s not everything repeats over and over again – that’s not how life works
He’s 12 years older and wiser
I’m sure he’s been improving his football knowledge along the way (although he has the same assistant coaches every time – except he’s brought Monaco keeper coach this time – that’s new)
It’s a clean slate – players are new – opponents are new
Let’s not assume he hasn’t progressed tactically in 12 years – that’s a bit silly
Everything is different – silly to think history MUST repeat again
Let’s think positive and hope for the best
Now if he doesn’t call up fresh blood for the Nations League (not just young players but new names in general) then that’s not the best of looks – as suggests he doesn’t have his own new ideas from Dalic
But let’s behind him
France looked like they could beat Morocco in 2nd gear on their lunch break. Amazing Team, seem unbeatable. Only team that could beat them, would have been a Dalic lead team, backed by the holy spirit. Too bad we were robbed.
Bilic has lots of talent to implement and chemistry to build. Also. Morocco is getting slaughtered by France. That front line is what we need. We desperately need strikers. Strikers that are scoring 20 plus goals in competitive leagues. They make it look so easy. Our centre backs need to defend much better on set pieces. That Kane header and Portugal’s winning goal was costly and could’ve been avoided.
Why isnt anyone talking about our cbs being shit yes we were screwed of an equalizer not a winner.
Dalic i will say svaka cast on the medals uklopilo se tako aliitle luck and quality.
Lets look at the 2 euros terrible igra
This 2026 for me was bad coaching and waiting for the senatori to wake up
You sit sucic out vs panama debil move
Vuskovic had hell of season and pongracic is your cb bravo samo bravo
I just hope Bilić has asmuch luck as dalic had.
And he fixes our defense euro 2021 getting scored on too many times
Euro 2024 terrible obrana
And know 2026 if it wasnt for livi england would have embarrassed us 6 2.
Sretno Bilic and i hope he calls all you g guys and unlike dalic gives hnl a try
Just when I thought Pong was playing well he stumbles on the Ramos header and sinks our chances. Not playing Vuskovic after the England loss is a mark on Dalic. I don’t get it.
Hey love you guys, Pete, Ante, Lovro. Great discussion but you focused on us getting screwed, which we did but you failed to say how crap we played in the first half. That first half was complete crap. We should have been downed 2 or more. We played so tentative and regardless of the blatant scandal, in typical Dalic fashion, we played scared and gave Portugal all the chances they wanted. To show you how bad Portugal was in WC 2026, they couldn’t even score. I agree we were screwed but we screwed ourselves too. Bilic is a better teacher who has far more street cred than Dalic who yes played soccer too but not a national league level, he was a plumber on the field.
We mention it for a minute. I personally know Portugal should have been up 2-0. Need to start implementing players that will run at defenses. That is where world football is at now. But agree with you 100%.
I cannot believe are Croatia media are saying Bilic isnt Croatian enough he is a leftist propagandist hahahaha
What the hell is going on i know my buddies and me use to say Dalica tactics are Sveta Gospa Bog i Hrvati i Krunica.
But come on I liked bilic as coach he just didnt have luck Eduardo injury tukey euro 2008
Wc 2010 we didnt have a team Too many 5hings went wrong Rakitic was still young jwe didnt have a left back we didnt have good cbs Robert Niko Kovac retired from national team.
2009 starting 11 was
Pletikosa – Ćorluka, Križanac, Šimunić, Pranjić – Srna, Vukojević, Modrić, Rakitić – Petrić, Olić.
For 2010
Runje – Srna, Ćorluka, Šimunić, Strinić – Vukojević, Dujmović – Modrić, Kranjčar – Petrić, Olić
Modrić also broke his leg in 2010 and was out for several months.
Ćorluka missed some key games as well.
Sorry, he fractured his leg in 2009 and missed the WC2010 qualifiers against England and Belarus.
Corluka missed that England game as well.
Eduardo was still recovering and three games, but was a shell of himself when he did play.
Runje was the keeper for the England 5-1 Wembley
Pletisoka blew his ACL right before the game and Subasic was still too young
Krizanac at CB
Pokrivac and Vukojevic in midfield
We were severely depleted by injury and think someone was suspended too
But the biggest miss was Modric
Can’t put that on Bilic
2nd half of Portugal gave me hope for the future. Hope Bilic does well. He is 12 years older and wiser. We should be hopeful at this point.
2-2 (5-4) Morrocco is Karmic wishful prediction.
We can play ball. We can. I just hate how we always have to play chess in the 1st half before playing ball.
With regard to the missed 2010 WC in South Africa you also have to factor in the lack of motivation to qualify. I don’t think the team wanted to go. That one went down as one of the worst in history.
