Thank all three for the excellent work . I especially wish to congratulate you on mentoring the Toronto Metros Croatia team. I Was part of the academy team at that time. I Only played from 1974 to 1978. We didn’t play for the senior team we were to young but I did attend some of the home game practices following a home game . Any player who played in home game the day before dident have to attend the next day practices. When we won the NASL in 1976 seeing from within after what we achieved was one of the most proud moments in my life better than 1998 and 2018 for me. You have to remember Croatia wasn’t recodised as a country at the time. The Soccer world in North America new what Metros meant but dident understand What Croatia meant . When we made it to the Soccer Boal final the world started asking questions . Washington was swamped with certain countries trying to stop it. Eusebio brought the team together and we won The version of what we see fifa today manipulating the results dident work because the team Toronto Metros Croatia was so much better than anything the league had to offer including the New York Cosmos at the time. Only a team in todays politics that is a smaller market could win if they were that much superior or marketble .We weren’t marketable then . Croatia is both talented and marketed now.We are especially marketable with the checkers globally . Top clubs they try to incorporate the checkers is some way in their kits this is a design complement to us . World Cup and Euros new expert the checkers its to profitable to them for us not to be there. Play a little possum and beat them at there own game.

Hey guys: Nothing touches Toronto. When I want to have that Croatian feeling I just go to Mississauga, Norval , Hamilton . Nobody touches us in terms of Croatian culture in North America. My father was involved in Metro Croatia. Eusebio wasn’t called that, he was called “kume” for those old enough to remember Varsity Stadium and when there was a Serbian kid playing against us, it was utter horror for the poor bastard. Beer bottles, slingshots, bottled flares that we’re incredibly dangerous. I’m glad you American Croatians saw TO, our parents built it up and now we have the template for other US cities. Come visit, shout out to Livno meats – I’d say best cevapi in TO GTA. Great stories of your visit , looking forward to next 4 years as we get revved up to do it again.
